So i have a kilt for formal events but some of my kilt stuff is lost or scruffy, so could do with some new kilt stuff
I noticed the same problem when I wore dress socks to anniversaries and stuff like that. I believe that you're wearing over the calf socks that hit right below the knee. These are always tight and make your pants cling annoyingly to your legs when you sit down.
I don't think the material will help that much but I found socks with a length and design like these kids socks https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00INN0B7I/ref=twister_B00XZ84N3E that stops right below the widest part of your calf. It never falls down and leaves a barely discernible skin mark. Even when I sit down, no skin shows if that's what you're worried about, and it's much more comfortable too.
