Locking her in the bathroom is only going to teach her that you will sometimes lock her in a bathroom for no reason, and she will trust you less. I guarantee she will have no idea that it's a punishment for going in your studio.

Anyway, lots of things here.

  • 1.) You need to address why she's doing it. Even if you solve the studio equation, the behavior could come out elsewhere. Cats, like all animals, including people, have a number of simple, innate, but wildly strong needs. If you want to keep them happy so they don't fuck shit up, you need to satisfy those needs. Google that and figure it out, but at the very least I'm guessing she needs more things to chew on - feed her dental treats, get her some cat grass, find her toys that she will chew on etc. Also consider getting one of the "calming diffusers" so she's more chill overall.

Decide if you are going to keep the door closed or not. If you can't trust yourself to keep it closed at all times,

  • 2.) get a can of compressed air and put it somewhere convenient to reach when you catch her in the room. DO NOT SPRAY IT IN HER FACE - this can freeze their eyes/nose etc and cause serious injury, so make sure you spray it from at least a few feet away. The sound to them is like you are hissing at them, and trust me they do not like it. After a few times, they will probably run as soon as they hear you pick up the can, and you don't even have to spray it.

  • 3.) Get some of this and spray it all around the doorway and floor inside and outside the doorway.

  • 4.) Consider a baby/pet gate that is tall enough she can't jump over and slats too narrow to squeeze through. They make them for a reason. If nothing else it will force you to think about keeping the door closed.

  • 5.) If you're still worried, get the curly plastic cable wraps designed to protect cables, like this:

u/Sewwattsnew · 12 pointsr/Pets

I wouldn't put them outside, especially if they've gone so long without learning how to stay safe out there. If your neighbors are so far away, I'd be worried about what sort of wildlife you have in your area. I doubt the cats are maliciously targeting your things alone, they probably have just decided that "wires over here are fun" and not extended the concept to other wires. Or they like chewing on wires that were near you.

I watched my cat destroy a cell phone cord one day. It was quite thin, he just casually walked up and bit it, the way outdoor cats will approach long blades of grass, and that was it. It was too thin to hold up to even one bite. It wasn't malicious, and I think he was as surprised as I was that it broke so easily. (Although maybe the look of surprise was that I was rushing towards him saying, "No! Bad cat!")

Regardless, it sounds like you need to protect your wires. Bitter sprays have never really worked on my cat, but are worth a shot. I'd personally go with wire covers. (I'd put one on your wife's mouse, too, just in case they re-direct their attention to it when they can't get to yours. I'd also cover any wires that are similarly thin.)

There are a lot of options. This one looks like it might be exactly what you need. There's also a larger size for power cords. Or, if you want to cover every wire, there's a bulk option.

You might also want to provide them with cat grass so they have an appropriate outlet for all their chewing.

Ok!

So it's a late 2018 (December) Ender 3 Pro. I got it from Mech Solutions. They have been super helpful with some warranty stuff. (Magnetic bed delaminated and heat break/throat tube was broken.) https://www.mechestore.com/collections/ender-3-pro

Galactic Empire gears here:
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3422334 (I remixed this one!)
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3005278

The braided cable stuff is from Amazon, here: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B071WF5NTN/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I bought three sizes, 1/4", 1/2", and 3/4". I hated the Pi camera cable, luckily it fits perfectly in the 1/2" stuff. I found uses for all three sizes in different locations. The 1/4" looks cool on the bowden tube. I used heat shrink (or electrical tape) at the ends.

Hotend cooler is Hero Me with a velocity stack (stack purely for my own entertainment)
Hero Me: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3182917 - I used the stock 4010 blower version in the end. I was going to do the dual 5015 mod but the two Amazon fans I got were both defective.
Fan is a Noctua 4020 - from here: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B071W93333/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07__o00_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1
** tech note - I added a 12v system running in parallel with the OEM 24v Ender system - more below
Velocity stack:
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2211780

Someone spotted it, on the left I have a Raspberry Pi 3B+ running OctoPi (Octoprint):
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07BD3WHCK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and a 3.5" touchscreen TFT LCD:
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07KLDKM5D/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and a Pi compatible camera:
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0759GYR51/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
with longer cables:
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07DNYM8KC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02__o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The camera needed a mount:
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2886101
and an off-brand sleeve:
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2994762

The Pi needed a mount too, and I found one I love that just happened to fit the screen I bought:
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2530258
** user note - this thing is massive, and tricky to print. Worth it, though.

OH. THIS IS A MUST:

All metal extruder, conveniently in red, from here: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07JVJWC5B/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
** tech note: if nothing else, do this upgrade. This, and the one just above it. Mine was under extruding, and I poured hours into trying to calibrate/test/bla bla bla... it ended up being a broken heat break and crappy plastic extruder.

Filament guide (top rail)

At extruder:
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3303562

Z-Axis bar cable management:
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2761965
** user note: this is one of my favorites!!!!! I covered it in LEDs, white for the bed, and red for the wall/bowden tube!

Ok, so, something that made getting good fans difficult is the Ender 3 uses 24v fans (except the power suppy, it uses a 12v fan. Bonus.)
To get some 12v power, I used a buck converter to step 24v down to 12v from here:
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01FQH4M82/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07__o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and basically I run all the fun stuff off it.
JST and XT60 connectors are all from www.hobbyking.com. Same with 22AWG three wire servo wire, super handy. I already had this stuff kicking around, but hobbyking is good if you need this stuff.
The PSU has some open ports, I added another XT60 cable with 24v service. I made it the same as the OEM, and they are backwards compatible and nothing will fry. One of them goes to my buck converter, the other to the Ender main board.
** tech note: I used a 3.5A BEC from hobbyking to power the Pi, off the 12v side of the buck converter. I ended up cutting the power supply cable that came with the Pi (and added JST connectors to the whole thing so I could reuse it one day.) The BEC steps the voltage down to 5.1v from 12v. 3.5A has been plenty. I think it might use .8A with my giant RGB keyboard plugged into it.

This is super worth it, a must do. https://photos.app.goo.gl/AEXNqvTXE5ZZhnhi8

Oh, the nice little platform the buck converter and Pi cooling fan is sitting on is this thing:

They're only $10 for 4 sleeves and do wonders for making things look less ass.

u/Soggurt · 5 pointsr/Dell

Next time, you could get a cover for your charger or any other electrical cords so that the puppers doesn't hurt itself AND your laptop can safely be charged. Something like this-- Someone I know does this to hers to keep from her cat and it works like a charm. Hope you get it figured out.

u/UnhandledInception · 5 pointsr/Vive

I'd suggest something like this instead of zipties. Less likely to pinch the wires and cause breakage. Might be prone to picking up dust though.

u/smitheroons · 4 pointsr/Rabbits

If you want 10x as much for 2x the price

I've found they will chew this but so far they haven't gotten through to a cord and with 100 ft for $10ish I don't mind replacing the chewed bits every so often

u/Nicker · 4 pointsr/Ubiquiti

Invest in a roll of lady-of-the-night

u/sanfran54 · 3 pointsr/ebikes

I use spiral cable wrap. It comes in various diameters and can be removed and reused.

u/SanctimoniousApe · 3 pointsr/techsupportmacgyver

Get some cord covers (I got one like this from eBay a couple years ago for ~$12 I think). My wife found some shorter lengths at the dollar store. It's just a flexible plastic tube with a slit in it to push the cable through, and keeps my cats from chewing important cords.

u/JJaska · 3 pointsr/networking

Our event group uses multiple regular patch cables run through a cable sleeve (like this (first google hit as an example): https://www.amazon.com/Techflex-CCP1-00BK25-1-Inch-Braided-Sleeve/dp/B004SQYTG8 ) secured with zip ties. On the ends you can either install RJ45 female modules (loose or in a suitable box) or then just regular male connectors depending on the use.

u/LogicalTimber · 3 pointsr/CatsAreAssholes

My first thought is cable wraps like this or this. It won't necessarily stop her from chewing on it, but it'll keep her from chewing through it. If you're lucky she won't like the texture of the wrap and will leave it alone.

You can also attack the problem from the other end by getting the kitty more things to do/investigate/climb on/chew on. There are dedicated cat chew toys, or since you know she likes this particular cable you could leave it out (unplugged!) where she can get at it easily. Just watch that she's not chewing off pieces of plastic and swallowing them.

u/Chief_Nebit · 3 pointsr/razer

Here

Pretty slick. Took me a second to figure it out, but it was super easy after that

maybe... but some of the amazon reviews are varying. there's plenty of options for just covering the entire cord but then of course that just adds bulk to the cord itself. maybe some sugru would help if he only chews up one certain part of it.

u/val319 · 3 pointsr/DesignMyRoom

I use something like this for cords. New Design PREMIUM 63'' Cable Management Sleeve, Best Cords Organizer System for TV Computer Office Home Entertainment, DIY Adjustable Black - White Cord Sleeves Wire Cover Concealer Wrap https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DDIMMLA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_nKmVDbC2S39P5

Lots of electronic stores sell it as braided cable sleeving

u/Heredditory · 3 pointsr/HomeDecorating

I'd say light-coloured curtains or drapes for the side to establish that cinema/ theatre illusion. Dark window tint for the two small windows so you don't blind yourself when you want to watch TV in the morning and since you have speakers there, you don't want to draw blinds and knock things over.

Also, definitely invest in wire-management material. Drill some holes in your bookshelves, shove all the wires in a wire tube and stick it in the corner. The rest of your house is neat, the wires have to obey the law too. Something along the line of these:

u/curls651 · 3 pointsr/ferrets

I haven't gotten my ferrets yet so I can't speak to how well this works but I'll be putting this around all electrical cords in my room:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FXF12HC/ref=ox_sc_act_title_5?smid=A2N7NRZ9X3BHHN&psc=1

It has decent reviews from pet owners!

u/Orcinus24x5 · 3 pointsr/audiophile

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B074GMNW7T although the price is very high right now (I paid $31), and that's the Canadian site. Much cheaper on the US site for the identical product (which f***ing pisses me off to no end). Even the SKUs match: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074GMNW7T

Although I used 1/2" techflex because I already had a whole bunch left over from the speaker cable build, it should ideally be 5/8" or 3/4". The final outer diameter of the cable is about 0.7".

Wish I had a nice fat ferrite bead to slap on there too. Unfortunately, out of the 30 or so ferrites I have leftover from my ham radio days, the biggest ones only fit ~0.58" cable.

u/ZenAdm1n · 3 pointsr/homelab

I tucked all my network cables running from my wall to my wire shelf open "rack" away with split sleeving. It's much easier to deal with than a half dozen Velcro straps.

u/JustCallMeBen · 2 pointsr/CableManagement

Binding your cables together into one sleeve would help, something like this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01DDIMMLA/ref=zg_bs_6577542011_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=GFV86FB7TW2384G10EW8

Also recommended: hang your power brick onto your desk. You could use something like the ikea signum as suggested before, or simply use double sided tape.

u/ricogs400 · 2 pointsr/oculus

I have it on my Rift S cables. I did the same on my Vive OG when it was wired. It helps keep from tangling and gives some protection from stepping on it. Makes it easier to kick out of the way too.

I don't run it all the way to the headset to keep the weight of what you have pulling on your head down. I start the end of it about where it touches the ground and goes to the end of where the connectors are. I use electrical tape wrapped around each end to tighten it to the cable. Don't forget to melt the ends with a lighter if you cut it.

I use one similar to this: https://www.amazon.com/25ft-Expandable-Braided-Sleeving-Sleeve/dp/B071JH14WZ/ref=sr_1_9?crid=1LZE55JPBCFYG&keywords=cable+sleeve&qid=1570233056&sprefix=calbe+slee%2Cgarden%2C148&sr=8-9

u/Taskerland · 2 pointsr/retrogaming

Cable snake like this can be expensive and a pain to re-organize if you make changes to your set-up, but it really looks great. Plus there are places that sell customized colors.

Gonna be an awesome set-up whatever you do, I see a handful of my for-real favorites in there.

u/_fuckallofyou_ · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

You know what you should do OP is get some velcro and take the cord from your router, wrap it down tightly all the way to the floor then get yourself some of these and run them along the base board and out of your way. I did the same thing, never regretted it. Also makes it easier for sweeping, mopping or even troubleshooting later on.

u/Ermygrd · 2 pointsr/lifehacks

Rubber things seen in office buildings. If your carpet was easy to pull up though - actually that seems like a horrible idea, never mind. Yeah what I used before I moved was one of these http://www.amazon.com/Cable-Shield-Cord-Cover-Length/dp/B0030W6TGE/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1451960603&sr=8-8&keywords=cord+concealer

u/Lobotomite430 · 2 pointsr/AnimalsBeingJerks

This is why i always try to buy braided cables or i braid my own. This stuff works well too if you just heat shrink the ends https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071JH14WZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_xLrWCb7SXF8A8

u/cadavra41 · 2 pointsr/Rabbits

I recommend split loom tubing for any future cord protection. the 3/8" is great for most cords and it's dirt cheap when you get the 100' coils.

u/Triabolical_ · 2 pointsr/AskElectronics

The velcro ties work nicely; you can also use the spiral plastic cable management stuff or the cable management tube that has a lengthwise split.

The spiral stuff is more of a pain.

u/BlakniPs · 2 pointsr/oculus

To avoid kinks that bad in the future you may want to try this , and this is what I used to cover the ends of sleeving. I found a few reddit posts and it seemed to work well for people. However, others used heat shrink tubing not silicone tape like I did. The tape has held up well for a few weeks now, and when I see any sort of twisting it’s really easy to undo as with the sleeving the cable just sort of pushes itself around instead of gathering kinks.

u/Macblair · 2 pointsr/battlestations

Some variant of cable molding can help especially if you don't want to endeavor into hiding cables in the wall space (Power has to be done properly to comply with code, something that I frustratingly discovered this last year).

https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Shield-Cord-Cover-Length/dp/B0030W6TGE/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1510671586&sr=8-4&keywords=cable+molding

u/jerm2z · 2 pointsr/PS4

Maybe you can get something like this so you don't constantly have to unplug and plug it back in. It also keeps the cable hidden from view.

u/Jhaksun · 2 pointsr/minimalism

Something like this might better help you achieve that science fiction look http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0008JF8UK/

otherwise using zip ties is a good idea

u/juan0tron · 2 pointsr/DeskCableManagement

Get yourself an Ikea Signum and a velcro cable sleeve.

Place your power strip in the cable tray so there's only one power cable running from your desk to the wall. Use the cable sleeve to run all your cables in a single bundle from one point to the other. My wife's desk looked exactly like this before I bought the stuff linked above. Here's a pic of what it looks like now!

u/AmorFati7734 · 2 pointsr/sysadmin

not sure of your layout here - do you use the full-width of the desk or do you normally stack the machines on top of each other?

That cable wrap stuff I used many years ago as a desktop repair technician. We had a very wide bench area (about 15') and an 8 port KVM. Used the cable wrap to tidy the cables, each port with a different color wrap and a sticky label at the end so i knew which KVM port it was attached to.

If you normally stack your machines on top of each other i got nothing. Velcro goes a long way. I was thinking maybe a "PVC Tree" of sorts.

Edit:

Better idea if you stack your desktops.Use horizontal wire management duct and mount to your wall, vertically. Have X sets of cables come out of left and X sets of cables out of right. Velcro to clean up.

u/Wrath3n · 2 pointsr/AskBattlestations

Congrats on a new desk and overall great setup, but here are a few quick thoughts.

  • Build/get a raised laptop stand. Never used this one but something like this. It will give you space under it as well as raise the "monitor" of the laptop to a higher level to help even it out with the actual monitor.

  • Maybe sleeve your cables together so they are neater.

  • Are two lamps needed?

u/katieb2342 · 2 pointsr/HelpMeFind

Now I want something like this! A bit of searching reveals cable sleeves meant for TVs and computers (here) but could be cut down to length and folded into a backpack or laptop case, this round thing that might work for multiple cables but isn't the most attractive, or the somewhat bulky hard plastic ones meant for extension cords. The cleanest DIY I can think of would be a pencil case or similar small carrying case (I thought of this small one I own) with a hole carefully cut in one side and the other ends coming through the zipper, or possibly something with a zipper around 3 sides and poking the zipper apart at the end farthest from the zipper tab (if that makes sense). Sorry I'm here late, I'm browsing the sub and didn't realize how far back I was!

Okay, making a separate post for this. Apparently they do sell "critter cords" for phone chargers and such. Found this on Amazon, but shop around for that brand. Also, one of the reviews in that product said you can buy things like that at Lowe's so it might be worth looking there, too. Buns aren't as bad as rats, but it might deter him long enough to save your cords.

u/FartPiano · 1 pointr/Cartalk

ah yikes. good luck on that!

here is some more rando advice im just gonna throw out in case you decide to fix it yourself:

if the harness turns out to be all one big piece, i.e. no connector to cleanly disconnect the door wiring, then I would do the following to fix this:

inside the car cabin, photograph, and then carefully chop the wire bundle that is going into the door grommet. Then take off the door card and pull the now-cut wires out through the door side.

from here, u would inspect the crushed/pinched wires and assess how far the damage goes down the wire. I would chop the wires on the door side down short enough to totally remove any damage

to reconstruct the wire length I would use fresh wire, it is important to use all-copper wire, most cheap stuff that doesnt specifically say is copper-plated aluminum. i get "vehicle wire" from mcmaster carr in the appropriate sizes, that stuff is great.

solder a couple of feet onto each wire - i either use different colored wire or label each end with a labelmaker, or just take a pic with a phone for reference.

once you heat shrink the solder joints, then use adhesive lined heat shrink and PET wire braid especially along the section of the wire that will go into the door grommet. this protects the wire bundle from physical damage a bit.

basically from inside the cabin you lengthen the wires, then cover your new lengthened wires with that braid, put that whole thing through the grommet, then chop down, attach to door card wires, and heat shrink/cleanup as necessary

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B071WF5NTN?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

I also have the ceiling suspension setup. The above cable sleeve really does help to keep the cable from getting too twisted up, specially with suspension setup. The sleeving is a bit stiff but set it up right and it shouldn't be too much of a hassle.

Keep that cable safe as I'm sure you're aware of, they're near impossible to get at a reasonable price.

Welcome to the club.

u/Necoras · 1 pointr/CR10

I got some of this stuff. Looks great, easy to install, and, most importantly, protects my cables from rubbing. I was seeing some wearing on my unprotected E3D v6 heater cartridge cables. Wrapped everything from the hotend in this stuff and it's much nicer looking and safer.

Granted, it doesn't supply any support, but that's not what I was looking for. Additionally, I did not put the bowden tube in the protector.

u/WyldStallynz89 · 1 pointr/PSVR

This is what I've had on mine since the day I got it. Only had it a couple months so far but it makes the cable less prone to tangles and protects it better in case I should step on it or roll over it a bit with my chair. I'm very careful about that but it has happened. Just cut the length you need and slip the cable inside. it has a slit the whole length of it on one side.

Can't see why not. I've used heat shrink on all sorts of electrical wires. Might make them noticeably stiffer and harder to maneuver though depending on the quality/thickness of the heat shrink.

Could try this too

Or this

I’d reinforce them with something like this: Rancco Cable Protector/Wire Repair/Pet Cord Protector/Headphone Saver, 8 Pc Spiral Cable Cover Wrap Strain Relief Tube Charger Cord Sleeve for Phone Mac Charging Cable, USB Date Cable, Earphone https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NCRM16T/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_vUsKDb22CQQX3

Try this.

I'm quite partial to stuff like this

Haven't used that particular brand, the stuff I have is from Best Buy and has a velcro closure along the split, but I can't find in on their site.

As Unisenon pointed out, Velcro straps are much better than zip ties, as you can add and remove cables easily. The only time I would use zip ties is when you know the two cables won't be separated. (The data and power cables for my USB hub for instance, they both go to the same spot, and I'm not going to be using one without the other.)

To avoid pulling on the cables, you may want to invest in extension cords. I use these (on the side that connects to the Vive):

6-ft HDMI extension: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0045532LU?ref_=pe_1763890_145073580_ste_e404_dp_1

6-ft power cord extension: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FTAM9NW/ref=od_aui_detailpages01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

6-ft USB extension: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C7S2FRE/ref=od_aui_detailpages01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Cable sleeve: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007VSTFMI/ref=od_aui_detailpages01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Don't skimp on the HDMI extension or you may get noise (snow) on your Vive display.

I used to have the 10-ft version of these and they work well with the GTX 980Ti. When I upgraded to the GTX 1080, I saw noise in the HMD display. Traced the problem to the 10-ft HDMI extension cable. Replaced it with the 6-ft version (since I only needed 6-ft anyway) and everything is perfect. YMMV based on your graphics card.

I would use a length of that plastic wire wrapping stuff. If you use the kind that looks like a coil, you could slightly stretch it and attach the ends to the bolts on either end of the exposed section. This way, you'll be able to adjust it and it would just expand and contract with the length of exposed thread.

Example: https://www.amazon.com/Outside-Polyethylene-Spiral-Desktop-Manage/dp/B008DFWR0A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1492115037&sr=8-1&keywords=spiral+wire+wrap

Lots of places to hide, cuddle, and sleep!

You can use just about anything as a hiding spot. Cardboard boxes are great because they're free and easily replaced.

It would also be a good idea to cover any cords/cables with split tubing to prevent little teeth from severing connections.

It does. I did it and almost never had that problem. Edit: this is what I've used for like 6 months. Sorry it's 25 ft I use an extension on my vive amazon

Try buying one of these for your new headset.

I have mine hanging overhead so this isn’t an issue but my cat went through a few 3.5mm cables before I moved it out of reach.

u/Minemose · 1 pointr/techsupport

You buy this and wrap it around the cords. My cat totally stopped eating cords.

Congrats, that's a mighty fine budget system. What are your impressions of the Ascends? Been looking at some used Sierra 2s myself, maybe the Luna. The 340s are supposed to be a fantastic value new, so you got yourself a deal.

BTW, these make great cable covers for floor runs:

Last question, I promise, Do you happen to have a wiring diagram for the LEDs. or a close up of how it's soldered on to the female socket?

Lastly,

I know you're from Canada, and the links you provided are from Canadian suppliers, but did I select the correct parts

Female Socket Connectors,

Braiding,

Male Adapters,

LED Strip

Haven’t bought them yet, but will soon. here’s the link

Cool, I'll add you!

3/4" cable sleeving has plenty of room. Here's a version of it you can get on Amazon. I'm also doing the 10' cable extension from a Reddit post.

u/dinosaur_friend · 0 pointsr/GooglePixel

I asked a question a couple of months ago about the Google adaptor's durability and mostly got ignored, but one fine user recommended these wire protectors that I think should help protect the cable. I wrapped these around my EarPods and they do a good job protecting them in all kinds of weather, and from wear-and-tear.

I also use a phone without a headphone jack for music consumption, and the included LeTV USB-C adaptor is quite shitty. I was afraid it would break, plus music would stop playing through the headphones after a while, and I had to reboot to get the phone to recognize the adaptor again.

I stopped using it and bought a couple of braided USB-C 3.5mm braided adaptors off Aliexpress for $2 to $3. They work great and are quite long (this can be a nuisance). I pull at the adaptor all day long and it's still holding together. Haven't had a single issue yet, and I listen to music while walking when it's super cold outside.

However these types of adaptors are not compatible with the Pixel 2 since they don't have a DAC.
