Any unflavored mastic gum like this one is probably best because there's no added sugar or mint, and it will maintain its consistency almost indefinitely.

A Harry Potter scarf if he lives somewhere cold maybe. There's different colors for each "House". Sneak around his comments and see if he has a favorite character and get the character's house scarf! (Harry's scarf is dark red and gold, so if in doubt, that's the best bet)

There is a Turkish brand of gum Falim That has no sugar or sweeteners.

I do 100% soylent during the week and will usually have a couple solid food meals on the weekend. I chew this gum when I'm at work. It's stiff and gives me a good jaw workout. Sugar free and basically flavorless so I don't hurt my teeth or get cravings for any other food.

I started chewing this after I read a thread on here about mastication being one of the only ways to move earwax around in your ears.

Buying 'stuff' for a backpacker is complicated. Since everything must go into a single pack and be carried - weight and bulk are important factors. Every item is critiqued and most travelers will already know what they want/need. Buying a random item can be hit-or-miss.

Think about small or consumable items. Don't be embarrassed if they want to return your gift for something they actually need.

It could either be a green tea or a wasabi kit kat, but I think it's a green tea one as it's dark green like in the picture. I don't think those flavours are very common in stores outside of Japan, but a quick web search gave me this and this.

Off my wishlist, I nominate any of the DIY candy kits on my Japanese wish list like these!! Because I mainly want to see the fun that my guy is going to have making them!

Looks like you have uneven muscles. Try to touch both sides if it's the muscle caused it. If it is, chew gum on the weaker side, but also chew in the stronger side, but less.

Also, just chew over 30 minutes. Chew 20 times so you can't get TMJ, then switch on the other side but chew less on the stronger side.

I just bought some Chios mastic gum. It's tree resin. Has a similar texture to those wax bottle candies, which I like but I can see how it might not be for everyone. It has a light pine/cedar aroma. It seems expensive but a single piece can last you a while. I've been chewing the same one off and on for a couple days now, that may sound gross. It's supposed to help with stomach issues but I don't know if I believe that. I just bought it because I really missed chewing gum and I've been reacting to pretty much everything these days. No issues from this though.

And to add - I think even if I wound up being able to tolerate regular gum again I'd still go for this.

Hey, you don't see the red bowl with black edging very often. That could really make the right room.

You know, the only time I ever consider buying cigarettes is when I'm curious what a huge ashtray would have looked like in the day.

I've got a 38-cig one that's a porcelain upside-down octopus - the suckers keep the cigarettes apart. But it would cost $10 for two packs to try out, so I'm not going to do that. Target dollar bins are a GREAT place to look for affordable stocking stuffers and, honestly, some nice gifts too. They've recently begun putting out scarves and gloves and bigger items so don't forget to look there.

Another one of our traditions is to make sure we have some kind of music playing. We'll turn on the TV and play one of the satellite Christmas music channels while we eat breakfast and the kids open their gifts. If that isn't an option, Pandora, Spotify, or Apple Music all have Christmas channels ready to go. There's just something warm and fuzzy about being together with each other and having merry tunes playing in the background.

I hadn't thought of it as stimming either, but I DO THIS. It is NOT good. I've gained 20 pounds the last couple of years (well, 15, I lost 5 recently trying to nip it in the bud).

I hate chewing gum (also hated pacifiers as a baby, so it's weird I stim eat, but I definitely do), but if I get an ice cold water with a random fruit in it or unsweetened tea that really helps me have an alternate.

I also try to find other things to do when I want to be eating - usually it's a secondary activity to something else (working, driving, watching tv). I find singing works as an alternative in the car. I'm still working on the other two, but I did buy a mini elliptical that can be used either standing or sitting, which I'm hoping will provide an alternative for work and tv.

Things I use when I can't help it: Bamba (PEANUT BUTTER CHEATO THINGS. Come on. They melt if you suck on them or you can crunch them. They're cheap and you can eat 40 for 160 calories. They're Israeli but Trader Joe's sells their own version for 99 cents. There are elephants on the TJ-version package); blueberries (I'll finish a pint), fruits and veggies cut into little sticks to make them easy munch finger foods; and a new discovery that only works because it's super intense and weird: C. Howard Violet Mints. They taste like a bathtub. I love them in all their grossness.

I wonder if you could use REAL gum and not experience bloating... as I said, I don't like gum. But I like it when things are just absolutely bizarrely flavored (see above). Check out Falim gum. It's Turkish and made with tree sap, which makes me feel like I'm either chewing on a pine tree or some really weird nonboozy gin. It's super chewy, too. Some people in the Amazon reviews buy it as a jaw workout.

I have found that ginger chews help a lot

i think you're just taking too much and possibly too often, just take like half of what you've been taking and only dose like twice a day. Kratom has a sort of plateau effect where you feel good up to a point, but taking more after that will just cause the alkaloids to build up in your body and basically cancel out the good effects

BTW i get stomach pains sometimes too, just make sure you're drinking enough water, and i've also found that those ginger chew candies help settle the stomach amazingly

Monster: Taste just like the energy drink, love it.

Make sure your IPD is correctly set. Make sure you have a beast of a machine. Check your steamvr frame graph for frame drops/late starts etc and tweak if you can or avoid that particular game/experience. Stick with teleport locomotion games/experiences only, but a bad performing game or experience will make you ill regardless.

You also might have a issue with vertigo in general. I have issues with that and its called BPPV. Try the half-summersalt or Epley maneuver to get the calcium crystals in your ear back to where they should be. I got a thing called the Dizzyfix from amazon that guided me through the Epley. I am at some point going to post my experiences with Vertigo and Motion sickness with the Vive and Rift to /r/vive into one big post.

Ginger may help(take it like 30 minutes in advance). I like pickled ginger(the stuff they give you with sushi), or those Gin-gins candies:

lying flat on the floor on a rug or carpet(no pillow) with a fan pointed right on me is the only thing that sooths me if I screwed up and went too long with VR

Ginger chews work well, too. You can get them anywhere.

I was put on Paxil for IBS-D and left on it for over a decade. When it was time for me to come off I suffered withdrawal, including nausea, that left me unable to eat and bed bound. I found The Ginger People Gin Gins Original Chewy Ginger Candy which I swear saved my life. Now, when I get that extra special nauseous feeling I'll reach for one of those before the Zofran, which I worship in it's own right. I would say 75% of the time it helps and I can skip the Zofran.

It's a bit of an adjustment from sweetened gum, but I'm a big fan of Falim. After chewing Falim exclusively for almost a year, the idea of sweetened gum (even sugar-free) just seems kind of off-putting.
