Buying the Legend of Korra Book 1 soundtrack (Amazon • iTunes • Google Play • Spotify) would be a good start, I imagine.

So the preorder I placed in Februrary finally came through to deliver this absolute beauty to me today.

This vinyl set is amazing, both the records themselves and its packaging, and it instantly became the holy grail of my collection.

The set comes with five(!) red records, containing the entirety of the Fellowship of the Ring Soundtrack. Also included is a booklet with information on the recording of every single track, and what looks like a third of a poster of Middle Earth, foreshadowing a future release of the remaining two Soundtracks.

A lot of people are going to try to be alternative and suggest you start with a more obscure album. My advice would be not to listen to them - doing so can be an alienating experience and put you off a band.

With that in mind, start with The Dark Side of the Moon. It's their most famous album (and my favourite album!), so you're in safe hands with this one.

Once you've familiarised yourself with DSotM, move on to The Wall. This one is mostly the brainchild of Pink Floyd's bassist and main songwriter (until he left in 1985) Roger Waters. It is a semi-autobiographical rock opera with a great story and some great songs to boot. It can be quite a daunting listen at first, so tackle it in chunks and use this guide to help you through the story.

After The Wall, the final definitive step you can take is to listen to Wish You Were Here. You'll find a lot of people that revere this album as their best, and one can see why - it has great songwriting, powerful lyrics and interesting (but very 70's!) production.

Once you've listened to all three of these albums, your next step is entirely up to you. Want to hear Pink Floyd's first and only "psychedelic" album with founding father and acid casualty Syd Barrett? Listen to Piper at the Gates of Dawn.

Do you want to hear Pink Floyd at their softest and most pastoral? Spin Atom Heart Mother, with a 24-minute long title track featuring a full brass ensemble.

Pink Floyd's most varied album, you ask? Dark Side wins that distinction IMO, but Meddle comes a close second. Pay particular attraction to the track Echoes - it's stunning.

Or, alternatively, you can work your way through the discography from beginning to end. Doing so will help you see the band's progression in style over time. Whatever choice you make, you're delving into an incredible band, so enjoy!

Is there a difference in sound between the 3LP and the 4LP currently available that makes the former more desirable? Or is it simply an issue of wanting an original pressing? I know the 2012 remaster had some bad quality issue, but from what I can tell most of that was fixed in 2014

Good news for all LOTR soundtrack fans... They’re re-issuing the complete score to Fellowship on both blu-ray audio as well as vinyl for the first time in April!

The only part that's officially been released is LOK's Book 1 soundtrack, though Jeremy Zuckerman has put a few songs, mostly from LOK, up on his Soundcloud for free. Other than those, the only way to get music from the show are Youtube copies of varying quality.

You might want to keep an eye on this set from amazon.ca. The price has been fluctuating over the last few weeks, usually staying under or over $50. I've actually seen it hit $36 at one point. I just re-did my wishlist today because I just joined RAOA, but I have kept multiple for years, and I have to say... Vinyl is notorious for price fluctuations. I mean it - EVERY single vinyl on any of my lists has changed price drastically. I think this is the biggest drop at the moment - It was around 30-32 when I added it a few years ago. But I don't know if that counts because it's temporarily out of stock. :P But it did basically halve its price. (I mean look, the used prices are even higher than the new price!) Ok so about 2 months ago I saw Demon Days pop up on Amazon UK. I bought it. For some reason once purchased it said the delivery date wasn't until May 15th, nearly two months away. I recalled reading on here about there being a lot of bootlegs of this guy around so I figured for €25 it wasn't a massive risk.

Anyway, it finally arrived today. Here is an album I've made of detailed images of the album. I've played it through and it seems to be all there. No locked grooves on Side C. No quietness of the songs. What's interesting if the disc seems to also be in packaging so its not second hand.

I wasn't delighted with how it was wrapped for shipping, it was just put in an old food box and sellotaped. But it seems to work, not be warped. Wondering if anyone can ID whether it's legit or whether I got ripped off. Regardless I think I'm gonna keep it cause it still sounds pretty good.

Again sorry for annoying this sub with yet another Demon Days post I just can't quite see my one fitting the particulars of other posts of reissues/bootlegs.

Most of the albums I like after pirating it, I buy on vinyl. The new Kanye West vinyl is sick. It's on 3 different high quality records, which means you had to either flip it or change vinyl, which really makes you listen to the album. And you also get the 5 different covers on high quality art paper which i'm going to get framed.

I wish more bands did shit like this.

My favorite Disney movie is Frozen. I love it because it's one of the few movies that has strong female characters who manage to save themselves rather than needing a prince to do it for them. It's refreshing to see women who aren't the helpless victim or the villain. Both Anna and Elsa grow so much as people throughout the movie, and I think it's important for young girls to see women who can overcome obstacles and learn from their mistakes. It's very different from what many of us saw while growing up.

Also, the songs are super awesome.

Someone already suggested Frozen for your wishlist, so how about the Frozen soundtrack? I seriously love this freaking movie.

If I win, I'd really like a gift card since I'm saving up for things, but if that's not an option, this pretty hair clip would be nice!

• I have to be honestly, I don't really listen to jazz. I find that most of the time it ends up putting me to sleep so I really dislike going to bars where it is only playing jazz. However, with that being said I've really had limited exposure to jazz, so my opinion is based off of just small jazz bands in the midwest which may not be an accurate representation of jazz in general.

I would love the Frozen DVD because I would actually give it to my little sister. She'll be 5 tomorrow and I can't tell you how much money I spent taking her to see it in the theatre. If you haven't seen it with a kid whose animated your missing out it's so much fun to watch her song and dance and ha the first time we saw it in the theatre and Olaf came on screen for the first time she shouts out "I love you OLAFY" cutest thing ever but since I'm super quiet I sank down in my seat lol hoping people wouldn't notice.

Anyways I would love to be able to watch it with my munchkin. :-)

I did reply to him. The BTI that I have was ordered off of Amazon and arrived this week. It does have the screenplay. As far as I can tell, it is the same as the RSD release. After spinning it, there is a good amount of static noise and pops though.

This is probably the closest we'll get to a Shelter "album". I actually ordered this in July and shipping got delayed in early August, but I'm pretty sure it's a Japan-region exclusive so I sort of expected it to take a while to ship.

Can I ask why you bought the Newbury Comics version instead of the mass press? I guess you're free to do whatever you want but that's just rewarding Newbury for repressing things that are still in print and charging more for it. ($22 from Newbury and <$16 if you get the mass press from Amazon or a record shop.)
