Likely unloading them before they get in the 50th anniversary edition on the 27th...

The box sets are great, IMO. Lots of content that isn't available anywhere else, or is far more easily accessible in the box set. They're also well-priced - for the price Pink Floyd are charging for their Later Years set I could almost get On And Off The Road, Starless and the THRAK box.

The remixes (not remasters) are great, too. The 40th sets are also reasonably priced for a CD and DVD/Blu-ray set, and they usually contain a good amount of special content, as well as a 5.1 mix by Steven Wilson.

Might be legit?

I'll remain cautiously optimistic until something official is said.

Edit: couple things seem odd to me.

  1. Lists the end date on the front label as 2019.
  2. Division Bell isn't shown, nor listed on front label, yet TER is listed on the front label.
  3. Live 8 not included (then again, this could just be chalked up as "cuz Roger...")

YEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!!! I've been waiting so long for this.

FYI, it seems it will be available at most retailers as well. Amazon has it up for pre-order.

The Music On Vinyl is more dynamic than the original. I don't think they add compression. It may have been cut at a lower volume to compensate for a lot of music on one piece of vinyl. But it sounds decent to me.

By the way, Amazon.com has this 25th anniversary 2-lp for $21.49 .

Looks like it’s got a phantom listing on Amazon.

Maybe off topic, but I just had an idea. I would like to see them put out a high quality atdi version of this. Have consecutive shows where each night is dedicated to an album. Record it in high quality then let the name die. Move on. If these fellows want to create new music together they merely have to pick a different name. I think this is where I'm leaning now. I would love to suggest this to them, but who the hell am I? So long as these guys (atdi members) are happy, I s'pose I am too.

edit: added words that fell off my screen.

If you want to hear more music with a focus on pinball, try to find a few recordings by Extra Ball Records from Multiball Magazine. Hot Pinball Rock (Vol. 1) – featuring rare singles from the White Stripes and the Dirtbombs – is available from Amazon or at Slabtown (in Portland).

LOL are you fucking kidding me? Fred Armisen (from SNL!) is making fun of the musical masturbation of art rock in this mockumentary:

The entire video is available on amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Complicated-Drumming-Technique-Jens-Hannemann/dp/B000VKM9T4)

it's pretty much a steal at $3,398.57

Ha, well you'll discover within a year or two that every mainstream TV news segment or print article about pinball will reference this song when they discuss pinball. Non-pinheads that find out you are into pinball will jokingly call you Tommy and get a shit eating grin on their face like they are comedic geniuses. It gets old real fast.

I'm listen to a lot of music, and it is pretty pathetic how weak the music culture surrounding pinball is. We have The Who and Barenaked Ladies. Makes me want to ram a plunger rod into my ears.

There is this garage rock compilation album about pinball that isn't too bad - https://www.amazon.com/Hot-Pinball-Rock-Vol-1/dp/B00004THNV

I'm not 100% sure they ever released the CD's separately from the box set (they may have though).

You can find the box set on Amazon if you're willing to drop over 200 bucks for it. Alternatively, the standalone DVD set is on Amazon for 14 bucks:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001R0KHDW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_ERJXBb5J6AY52

You could always rip the DVD audio tracks and chop them up with Audacity or something like that. That would also get you the full version of Good Apollo (they cut some of the jams on the official CD release). Though it also means 21:13 gets cut off at the end.

Rumor has it that The Beatles Singles box set that's popped up on Amazon with a Nov. 15 release date (details here) may be pushed back to become an RSDBF product. Apparently the RSDBF list is due next week.
