Comprate una de estas y ponle dinero según lo necesitas, te va a salir mas barato que el roaming a Mexico.

u/jkballer23 Ultra Mobile also has a $5 trial plan on Amazon that you can use to test the service for 7 days.

Ultra Mobile also has a pay as you go plan for sale at T-Mobile stores. That's just $3 per month. No data is included but if your grandparents have WiFi they probably wouldn't need it. https://www.ultramobile.com/paygo/

Orange Holiday. I used it when I went to Europe in September and it was great. Orange Holiday Europe New Package - 20GB Internet Data in 4G/LTE + 120 mn + 1000 Texts in 30 Countries in Europe https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RXYH2NW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_zHY3DbZT27GVV

I go to the US semi-often about every month or two sometimes more.

I use a T-Mobile pay as you go plan on a US sim card. It's $3/month to maintain which includes a mix of total 30 texts or 30 mins talk time within anywhere in the US.

When I need data I pay $10 for 1 GB for 7 days or $5 for 500MB for 24 hours. If you hit the limit, they don't cut you off, it just goes down to 2G speed which is mostly fine except for streaming.

This is what you need to buy to do this: https://www.amazon.ca/T-Mobile-Sim-Card-Prepaid-Kit/dp/B003X7RY06

u/invincible1914 · 3 pointsr/NoContract

Make sure to get the sim first. It has to be in the iPad to pull the AT&T account. You can just buy a sim off Amazon. Some AT&T stores will just give you one. Here’s the one I use now https://www.amazon.com/Authentic-AT-Prepaid-Postpaid-Unactivated/dp/B07P2GPYQ5/ref=sr_1_7?crid=1HDSRACY5FFYO&keywords=at%26t+nano+sim+card&qid=1564367904&s=gateway&sprefix=AT%26T+nano+%2Caps%2C148&sr=8-7 but you don’t have to get a 2 pack. I just have an extra one cause I use my iPad too.

u/StackKong · 2 pointsr/NoContract

Yeah but make sure you have correct phone, compatible with total wireless

Anyway, Amazon is running a promotion and you will get $25 back via Amazon gift card, check at https://www.amazon.com/eGift-Promotion-Total-Wireless-Prepaid/dp/B072FTW1MB/

I did it last month and it came quite fast.

u/slade412 · 2 pointsr/SpectrumMobile

That is pretty bad that their reps are clueless.

From their website. The rates in Croatia will be:
15 cents per minute
10 cents per text
15 cents per MB (thats $150 per GB)

You'll have service, but it will be very expensive. You're leaving tomorrow, but you can try to grab one of these with Prime shipping.

It would save you a lot of money.

There are several sellers on Amazon with the same AIS product, but I was planning on buying from GAC as they are known to be fairly reputable and the reviews are good (the packaging looks different but it's clearly a repackaged sim2fly.) They also sell a 2-pack on Amazon for $33. There's more info in that Flyertalk thread, but basically it's a Thai carrier and they sell an international SIM card allows roaming in many Asian countries. Based on reviews, it sounds like the AIS SIM connects to either Softbank or NTT Docomo depending on where you are.

u/ambervard · 2 pointsr/JapanTravel

We bought these SIM cards for our 7 day trip to Tokyo this past April and they worked perfectly.

u/gunstarheroesblue · 2 pointsr/NoContract

If you're activating a new line, you could also get a $25 egift card if purchasing a $0.99 sim from amazon

u/lavieest · 2 pointsr/wp7

ATT also has pay as you go plans like these. They regularly go on sale; I personally would not pick one up at ATT. This would be an example of on of the sim/minutes cards; some cards are only for minutes.
Did you receive the Titan at the event? I won one at LA inner circle and am still waiting for notification that it has been shipped.

u/jamar030303 · 2 pointsr/China

Sure thing!

For reference, this for data only and this for data and voice (but with a Hong Kong number) are what I'm talking about. You'll pay more but depending on your needs it may be worth the extra to not have to deal with a VPN.

u/shawnmellinger · 2 pointsr/Tokyo

Definitely the easiest thing to do is buy a prepaid sim card. You can get 1 gig for 15 days for like $20 at a train station, airport or on amazon. Most of them you can charge more data if you need more. This is the one I'm using

I used this eConnect SIM card from Amazon. I bought 3 for my family. When we got to Japan one of them wasn't working so I e-mailed the company and they overnighted a new one to my hotel no questions asked. I cannot recommend them enough.

My brother has done this, unlimited AT&T and some crazy 4g modem thing like this https://www.amazon.com/MOFI4500-4GXeLTE-SIM4-COMBO-Router-T-Mobile-Verizon-Embedded/dp/B07Z5LNWY6 . He gets like 20Mb/s down and about a quarter of that up. He's paying like 35 bucks a month. Not bad as long as you have a cell tower near by.

u/cadesert · 1 pointr/leagueoflegends

If you're in the UK I recommend this. I have a 3 blackberry and it works. However they do not give you £5 credit. They give you something like £4.60. So I make two £2 purchases. Still worth it. Next month I will be buying like 10 of these for sure. It's really easy just put the card in your phone. Go on lolclient purchase rp with mobile, by giving them your phone number, then reply to their text message with a "Y".

u/Kindern · 1 pointr/Games

You can buy pay as you go simcards for literally a penny with free delivery.

You could create new accounts with only the extra effort of waiting for the simcards to arrive at next to no cost.

u/page113 · 1 pointr/vancouver

It's kind of counter-intuitive, but the best plan is actually a US plan that roams in Canada. For example, https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07RHRLZJL/ and https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07TB7R6FB/

u/Inspirasion · 1 pointr/tmobile

Take their word for it basically. Unless you can obtain a foreign sim to test as well. A local sim (from at&t or T-Mobile) won't register on local networks, but a foreign sim should with whatever roaming partner it has in the US.

you can order foreign sim cards on ebay or amazon to try for yourself if you want. I usually go with a Vodafone sim.

Hej!

Fellow dane here, and I've looked into this exact same issue as I'm taking 3 weeks vacation in the US in June.

Personally I'm going to go with the $30 plan (100 minute, 5 GB, unlimited sms/mms).

You need an unactivated sim with activation code, but those can be found on amazon, I bought mine from advance mobile corporation, though I havn't tried it yet - but they do ship to Denmark.

Now my Galaxy Nexus seems to support AWS, so I don't have this concern, however if you are still concerned you could always buy a Mobile hotspot, personally I'm borrowing one from a friend and they work great (I use one regularly here in denmark), basicly it's a small pocket sized gsm modem and wifi router with a battery. This means you can use your tablets, phones and laptops off one connection. The friend I'm borrowing mine from just popped into a T-Mobile store and bought one, so that should work (AT&T wouldn't sell him one without a contract).

I've also set up call forwarding via voip for my danish number so I don't have to pay the crazy roaming prices our mobile providers charge us, let me know if you want to know more about this :-).

u/MattLewellyn · 1 pointr/NoContract

Another Amazon 2-Pack option for future spelunkers is this one (which I'm using right now): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07P98F3YN/

Both of those items go in and out of being available with Prime shipping, sadly, so the more known-good options the merrier, right? :)

u/1mbrews8 · 1 pointr/VerizonUDP

ahhhhhh! you are correct! i didn't see the MICRO part and just assumed it said nano!

my bad!

BUT... lol... on amazon reviews on this there are a ton of "not working" / "not right sim" reviews.. any ideas?

I'm right there with you on that one!

The one mental downfall from working my entire life is that I am already fucking sick of working and I still have decades left of it. It's better now that I have finally gotten into a role that I actually enjoy, but still the thought of working until 65 kills me, let alone by the time it comes around for me the retirement age will probably be higher. With my investments I am really hoping to be able to retire in my 50s, but unless we have a real healthcare system in Murica (instead of our mess of a web of disparate programs like private insurance, Medicaid and Medicare) I probably will end up working solely because of healthcare. And on that thought it shows just how fucked up our country is.

I would just advise you to save what you can and even look for legitimate deals. Some of this will depend on your area and offerings and such but I would say:
Go internet only. If you live alone 25mbps should suffice just fine.
Shop around for cell phone plans. This is a huge pet peeve of mine with my gf. I have a $40 prepaid T-Mobile plan that ends up costing $44.50 after PA's shitty 20%+ tax on cell service. She has some stupid unlimited plan for $80 a month or something like that. I am actually looking at switching to Project Fi since I work from home most days now. I also saw a new provider that uses the Sprint network, Mint Mobile, and costs as little as $15 a month if you buy 3 months at once. I am waiting that one out since it is very new.
If possible take the bus to work. I pay half of what my coworkers pay to park and my commute is hardly different. Also, less money on gas and less wear and tear on your vehicle.

Try not to fall into the trap of getting into payment plans on items that aren't a necessity, even if it's interest free. I always like to know what I am paying for all up and in. That may just me being a weirdo, but for instance I looked at my mortgage right around closing and looked it thinking, "Ok, so taking the full 30 years to payoff my loan making the minimum payments will make my $190,000 house cost almost $300,000." As soon as I see how much larger that number is it gives me all the motivation I need to pay it off early. BUT, at the same time my loan's interest rate is 4.25%, and based on some recent material I was reading it was advising on mortgages with these low rates saying the homeowner is likely better off making the minimum payments while investing the money in the stock market instead of their house because in the 30 years of the mortgage that money's growth will most likely exceed any savings from paying off the mortgage early. That gave me a different thought process that I am considering for my mortgage as a minimum. I want to talk to my brother about it. I know his mortgage is 15 years and that he could pay it off any time he wants, but apparently he told my dad he won't and I suspect it is for a similar reason.

Those are just a few dumb examples of small savings that add up over the course of a year.

Sorry I kinda went off on a tangent there and rambled for a bit. I really hope some of this was helpful in some sort of way. I guess an easy word of advice that I recently saw (when it was talking about not paying of a mortgage early) is to make sure you max other items out before paying off a mortgage early, like your 401k and (I assume) an HSA if you have a HDHP garbage insurance plan.

Mint Mobile SIM Purchase on Amazon - https://www.amazon.com/Mint-Wireless-Unlimited-3-Months-SIM/dp/B0741FV7ZV

u/LiterallyUnlimited · 1 pointr/ting

Mint is not a bad option, if you know what you're getting into. Mint does require an upfront estimation of your actual usage before you purchase in bulk ahead of time. I contend that the bulk purchasing to get the best rate is effectively a contract. You can only get their best price per month if you promise not to leave for 12 months. If you leave, you didn't get the deal you thought you did.

That limits your ability to shop around until your 'contract' ends if you do want to come back to Ting or look at another carrier.

To many, this isn't a concern. I just take issue with it being effectively a "no contract" carrier. They get your money either way.

/r/mintmobile has probably the best temperature gauge for what you can expect. Lots of enthusiasts, lots of detractors. They're probably where a significant chunk of our customers defect just on price alone.
Some report they come back for our customer service, as Mint outsources to south Asian call centers, as it's less-expensive for them.

They did just get a carrier bundle, so iPhones are easier for them now.

If you're going to trial them, go with the 3-month new customer deal at $15/month for 2GB. You can't re-up at that price unless you sign up for 12 months (again, I contend a contract), but it's a really good way to get your feet wet on what the company is about. Also, make sure you get your bugs out of the way quick -- no returns after 7 days.

I recently got this for an international visitor who needed data only for email/whatsapp:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0728N8PT9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It lets you choose number of service days. You can choose network (AT&T/Tmobile/Verizon). For 2 months, you will probably spend roughly $5-$10 (after Amazon gift card) depending upon how much data you need.

u/Zokatz · 1 pointr/NoContract

You could try going to Walmart and picking up either this or this and using one of those to activate on Red Pocket Mobile.. I am not sure at all if that will work and the packages for AT&T and T-Mobile look the same in store. Amazon also sells 3 carrier SIM cards online but again I am not sure they will work either. If you 100% want it to work, you have to buy a Red Pocket SIM card. Either on eBay or their website. I cant think of any retail stores that sell starter kits for Red Pocket since they mostly sell service online.

u/CDNChaoZ · 1 pointr/HongKong

The China Unicom card I have seems quite similar. $138 HKD. I heard from the person who picked it up that the card has been discontinued however; they had to go to several 7-Elevens to find it.

u/SolsKing · -1 pointsr/mintmobile

How come it's the full $60 on Amazon?
