This 200 sq ft bounce house is $750. If the price is proportionate, a 10k bounce house is $37,500. Maybe if I sell a kidney or two...

It should be fine. We bought one my daughters 2nd birthday and used it at the party and all the kids loved it. No one got hurt. This is the one we bought https://www.amazon.com/Little-Tikes-Jump-Slide-Bouncer/dp/B003NSBMUI
We have used it at least a few times a month since so well worth the money!

When you can buy a centrifugal fan on Amazon or Ebay for $75.00 to $100.00, why would you want to build one? It seems that a lot of people are having success using blowers intended to inflate jump house type inflatables. I can't see any reason that wouldn't work as long as you build an air gate to control the air flow.

Here's one that is less than $40.00:

Sure.

I would say the stock photo used on Amazon is a bit misleading.

Probably more material for /r/expectationvsreaity

Looks like it's big enough to be one of these for children. Same pattern - there are still "panels" like a beach ball so some of the hex/pentagons are split

Doing it right.

For anyone wondering about the bouncy house, we bought it a year ago for a small party since it was cheaper than renting. We use it almost daily in our bonus room, it makes for great wet weather (Seattle) before bed energy killer!

The quality is way better than expected for something at this price point!

Sure. These GBOP -Great Big Outdoor Playball are pretty neat and super fun for the kids. They last about a season outdoors before they start losing too many cells.

These rolling inflatable thingies are neat too .. but also probably last about the same time.

We got a set of these pulleys a few years ago and they get used a lot.

At the beginning of the spring we also get a few m3 of sand delivered and have classics like kites to fly and skipping ropes.

Agreed! Some research found this small one on Amazon, but it's only 65" (5'5"), so not really tall enough for most adults.

Someone gave this to us for my sons birthday. We bought additional balls at target. Both kids (3 and 1) love it! They broke it and I called the company they have a one time free replacement policy and sent me a new one!!

u/MedStudent14 · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

You have to have this!!! I mean, it's on my wishlist too!!!

And guess what, I just want all the gold!

And sadly I've haven't had gold before :(

Floors would be difficult. Are you willing to cheat a little and add structural supports?

I found something saying the air pumps take around 750 W. Let's say your house takes ten times that, since it's way bigger. Electricity costs around 12¢ per kWh. It works out to about $7900 per year.

This one costs 47¢/ft^(2). This is much, much cheaper than a house. I'm not sure how long it would last though. Maintenance would be a nightmare. Also, building it custom like that would probably be more expensive.

Looking to make something like that in my basement actually. Eventually portable, to take to kinky vore parties. Using a zorb as a base, gluing in a fleshlike latex liner. Eventually want to mold a dragon's head from silicone foam to attach to it, for a more authentic getting-eaten experience. |3 The insides of the orbs are big enough for a couple people to move about. Three snugly. Combined with the heat, lube mix, and smell of sweltering people, should be quite the experience! Might be relaxing to just hang out in too. Like a reading nook mixed with a sauna.

Been wanting to make weird shit like that for years. Now that I've got my own place, creativity abounds.

For a smaller setup, a gbop might work.

This looks like it, but with different colored wings and tummy. https://www.amazon.com/Foot-Wide-Inflatable-Halloween-Dragon/dp/B00MNRXUH8

So soft and bouncy!

Speaking of bouncy, I know something you can bounce on. Trust me, it will be a lot of fun! 😈

Would volume help? Could you assume a volume based on an assumed standard dimensions of a bouncy castle base? Blast Zone Magic Castle Inflatable Bouncer:

18in x 102in x 102in ~=187272 in^3 (or 3.0688 m^3)

I was never very good a pressure calculation.

I just got this jump house blower today. I plugged it in and turned it on for a bit and was extremely impressed with just how quiet it was. I was easily expecting it to be 2-3 times louder. I just need to 3D print some parts for it and I will be good to go. Thanks for the post.

Considering how dangerous the stock K40 seems to be, I'm trying to preemptively plan and budget my upgrades before it even arrives, and just want to make sure I make the right purchases.

For lasercutting n00bs who are visual learners like me, would it be possible to get some pictures of your ventilation configuration featuring a typical bounce house blower (like this one)?

Right now, my upgrade list is prioritized thusly:

  • Safety: Proper ventilation (and air assist), eye protection, interlocks, upgraded water pump
  • Quality: Better optics and lens
  • Flexibility: Expanded cutting area, motorized Z table
  • Ease of Use: Upgraded controller (Smoothie)

I freely admit I know nothing (Jon Snow)... yet. So please speak up if I'm missing something yuge. I plan on tackling everything on the above Safety list before I ever do anything more than a basic test fire.

Depending on the number of kids, it can be cheaper just to buy one. We were quoted $250 to have a small bounce house for an hour, I wound up buying one for $229 instead from Amazon (free shipping!) and as a bonus I can set it up whenever I'd like. http://www.amazon.com/Little-Tikes-Shady-Slide-Bouncer/dp/B003NSBMV2/

Caveat though, it's smaller than some of the rentals, so if you buy one you'll need to make sure you only let 4-5 kids in at a time. Too many kids is mostly a bumping into each other safety issue, rather than too much weight for the pump issue.

It's never too late! I'm genuinely surprised at how affordable it is. I might have to make some room in the apartment this Christmas...

Assuming you're asking about the geodesic ball like thing.

Looks kind of like this:
