I use these Nippies - they're adhesive and reusable. I have several summer dresses that are incompatible with bras, so that's when I use them most - I've had my pair since 2014. They conceal both color and headlights.
Finally my time to shine.
If you are looking for a good-for-everything watch, you have a few options. If you are looking for an automaitc watch (no battery, purely mechanical) you really can't beat the SKX007. It has excellent durability, classic looks, and the lume (glow stuff on the dial) is excellent. There is no battery to die, although you may need to get it services in a decade (or get a new one). Leave it on the bracelet for a sporty everyday look that can go with a suit, to a wedding, or a funeral. Throw it on a NATO strap (how I wear my watch every day) for comfortable everyday wearing. Get different coloured straps for different things, and change it up. A new strap can make it look like a totally different watch.
If you want something that will do almost any occasion without a mechanical movement, basically any Citizen Eco-drive will do the job. I myself like the Citizen Nighthawk, although it might be because I'm a pilot. The slide rule on the outside is great for addition/division (how much to tip, how much tax, etc.) and it will tell a second time zone.
If you are looking to make a statement, there is nothing that tops the Seiko "Orange Monster". This thing is built like a tank, the utomatic movement is proven, and the lume is out of this world. It also comes as the "Black Monster" if you want to be a bit more subtle.
If you are looking for a dress watch, I would recommend the Orient "Union" as it has a durable, in-house movement and great looks.
If you are looking for something badass that will be great for nighttime, there is the Traser Code Blue. It is a very durable quartz watch designed for military operations. It has vials of tritium (hydrogen with two neutrons) and will glow without any exposure to light for at least a decade.
If you are looking for a digital watch, I would recommend either the Casio Mudman if you are looking for a large, indestructable watch (That is also allowed for space travel by NASA) or the Casio F91W which is much slimmer, but less durable.
Possibly one of the best deals in "stylish" watches is the Timex Weekender. The come in a million different colours, have an electric illumination, and are very stylish and durable.
My advice would be to get the SKX007 on the bracelet, and then grab a few NATO straps. I have had great customer service interactions with Clockwork Synergy. Their straps are of decent quality, and their service is second-to-none. If you have a little cash left over, grab the F91W for chores are hiking, or anywhere you may need a stopwatch and illuminated face (i.e. Flying).
Timex Weekender
Hi! I’m back!!
Although I thoroughly intend to write my birth story when I’m ready, I just finished my first piece since the baby arrived so in celebration, I’ll pair it with something useful.
I really appreciated posts like this while I was pregnant so here goes:
Things I didn’t know I needed:
(AKA things I have frantically ordered on amazon at or around 2am)
•Bottle Drying Rack This probably seems obvious, but when we didn’t get this from our showers we were like... idk why we can’t just use a towel??
•Safe way to cosleep My husband built a BEAUTIFUL Sidecar Crib, but it was attached on my side of the bed and it took 2.5 weeks for me to have healed enough to climb in bed around it safely with the baby. This way, I didn’t have to bend over to pick up baby or even spit up to check on/soothe him.
•Lactation Suppliment My lactation consultant approved. This one worked well in my breakfast tea.
•Better flanges My poor nipples were so sore and the flames that come with the Medela... well I’m not sure who they’re supposed to fit but not me. My doula practically ordered these for me. GAME CHANGER.
•Pumping bra I was cutting holes in sports bras. This is better.
•Nipple Shells Another kind reddittor sent me in the direction of this AMAZING INVENTION after I posted a photo of ice packs tied to my nipples with a burp cloth because I refused to wear a shirt my nipples hurt so bad. I will be purchasing these for EVERY PREGNANT WOMAN FOREVER. They keep your nipples dry, collect drips, apply counter pressure to keep your nipples shaped correctly for latching, and most importantly omg nothing touches the precious nips and you can wear a shirt!!
•Car mirror
Me: that seems extra, he’s in a car seat and safe why would I need a mirror??
Hormones; HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAH YOU FOOL
•Car adapter for my breast pump Cheaper than batteries
•Shade for his side of the car because anything that wakes up my sleeping baby is the devil. This one has a bonus that allowed me to roll the window down and it was HOT in the south
•Better suction for the breast pump Again- just better than whatever they send you
•My Breast Friend we got the boppy but this one saved my back
•Heating pad Turns out I’ll do ANYTHING to keep the baby asleep when I transfer him to his crib including preheat the darn thing (on low!) before I lay home down
•Stroller Caddy You’ll want somewhere to put your keys, phone, and coffee
•Baby K’tan An easier way for my husband to wear the baby.
•Leggings I had a pair of these before, and they are SO COMFORTABLE on my postpartum body that I bought 5 more in different colors!
•Extra pump parts for whichever pump you have
•A hands-up swaddle I found at Target
•Wine.
Anyway, hope this helps! Best of luck to all of you!
I just got an underwired sports bra in my real size and holy shit it's like angels are holding up my boobs. Even Mr. Gluestick was surprised by its power--"what are those things doing all the way up here?!" were his exact words.
You should check the sidebar and measure yourself with the ABTF calculator. I don't know what kind of measuring guide JCPenney's provides, but a lot of mainstream stores use the +4 method, which is more likely to give you an uncomfortable bra size.
I noticed in another comment of yours that you mention wires poking out of your bras from stress. When I had this happen with my old bras, it was before I started wearing my correct size. Since switching from 34C to 30E/F, I haven't had similar issues.
If you have a Nordstrom Rack nearby, I strongly recommend checking it. Nonstandard sizes can be found on their clearance racks, although like all clearance items, YMMV for finding what you want. But it's a good way to find cheap bras. If you don't have one nearby but are in the US, Amazon, Bare Necessities and Bravissimo are good places to look online. Bare Necessities currently has a sale going on.
As for sports bras that have bra sizes, I personally wear Panache's underwire sports bra, and I like it. However, from my normal 30E/F, I went up a band size to 32E. If I tried my regular size in their sports bra it would be uncomfortably tight.
TIMEX WEEKENDER
price: $27-$50
Movement: QUARTZ
Style: Casual
Size: 38mm
Link: Amazon
Description: The best value watch available in my opinion. Looks pretty good, lasts a long time, water resistant to 30 feet. Can't beat for a beater watch or just an everyday sorta thing
I just graduated from high school and I wanted to get myself a small watch reminiscent of those generic clocks they have in all the classrooms. The Timex Easy Reader was the cheapest and classiest looking option.
It's exactly as the name describes, an easy reader. The dial is a very light silver which I'd rather be plain white but oh well. Day-date is a nice touch. Indiglo is also nice. It's just a nice little 35 mm watch. I also put a new strap on it if anybody was wondering.
Link
The designs are based off these I believe:
I've been there. I found that buying actual running shoes and workout clothes (rather than wearing old college tees and cotton leggings) was a great motivator. I told myself that I didn't buy these things just to have them go to waste (and a small part of me liked showing off my ~fabulous shoe and shirt combos~). As I started exercising more, my matching game became A++ and I invested in more expensive items (specifically, a good, supportive sports bra)
I would start off buying cheaper workout clothes rather than diving into "nicer" brands like Lululemon. Old Navy and Target (and apparently Forever21?) have great affordable options. I've also gotten great deals at TJ Maxx, Marshalls and outlet stores
Hey, I'm somebody who goes braless on occasion and has very pointy nips. Have you considered something like these?
They tend to stay put pretty well, and honestly, if you're comfortable without a bra at your size there's not really any reason to wear one, especially since your size would be very hard to find. That's just my opinion. :)
If you really want a bra, though, of course you should look for them.
I've had This Timex for years and have gotten plenty of compliments on it. Little do people know it was under $30!
I have this octopus necklace. I shortened the chain to 16-17" so it sits just below my collarbone, right in the center of my chest. I get compliments on it ALL THE TIME and only occasionally disclose that I bought it from China for $3 on Amazon.
EDIT: I just realized you specified clothing. My B.
Check out the Timex Weekender. I've had several compliments about this $30 watch and there's a seemingly infinite number of alternate bands which are easily changeable.

Usually there are always debates about a Seiko and the Citizen Eco Drive watch. You can get a Seiko automatic mechanical watch for under $150 that uses the popular and reliable 7s26 movement. Another popular watch would be one of the Orient Mako dive watches. I already own a Seiko SNK807 watch and just ordered a Seiko Orange Monster online (both of which use the 7s26 movement).
The reason why I chose the Seiko over the Citizen is because I wanted mechanical watch with the sweeping second hand rather than a quartz jumping second hand. But, with the Citizen, it'll never stop (unless you live in a cave or the sun blows up). Automatic watches will stop after about 40 hours of no movement.
Orient Mako is a very popular dive watch. It comes in a wide variety of colors (with black and blue being most popular). http://www.amazon.com/Orient-CEM65001B-Black-Automatic-Watch/dp/B001EWEQ3A/ref=sr_1_22?s=watches&ie=UTF8&qid=1325124897&sr=1-22
Here is the one I own. The SNK80* comes in various ways also. Black, blue, nylon strap, metal bracelet, green, rubber strap, etc
http://www.amazon.com/Seiko-SNK807K2-Automatic-Cloth-Weave/dp/B000HGDWXE/ref=sr_1_32?s=watches&ie=UTF8&qid=1325124945&sr=1-32
The odd looking orange monster I just ordered and can't wait to get it :D Comes in orange or black with a rubber strap or metal bracelet http://www.amazon.com/Seiko-SKX781-Orange-Monster-Automatic/dp/B000EPLR2G/ref=sr_1_1?s=watches&ie=UTF8&qid=1325125001&sr=1-1
Here is a simple filtered search I done on Amazon for mechanical watches: http://www.amazon.com/gp/search/ref=sr_nr_p_36_0?bbn=377110011&qid=1325124882&rh=n%3A377110011%2Cp_n_target_audience_browse-bin%3A379281011%2Cp_36%3A10000-19900%2Cp_n_feature_three_browse-bin%3A2205662011%2Cp_n_feature_browse-bin%3A379300011&rnid=386698011&low-price=50&high-price=199&x=0&y=0#/ref=sr_pg_1?rh=n%3A377110011%2Cp_n_target_audience_browse-bin%3A379281011%2Cp_36%3A5000-19900%2Cp_n_feature_three_browse-bin%3A2205662011%2Cp_n_feature_browse-bin%3A379300011&bbn=377110011&ie=UTF8&qid=1325124945

Quartz is more accurate I believe, though mechanical watches are usually accurate to +/- 5 to 10 seconds a week (or was it day?). If the watch isn't solar powered then you'll need to replace the battery on the watch every so often. Also with the non-stop Invicta watches you see on Amazon, I've heard some people say some bad things. For sure brands though are Citizen, Orient, and Seiko in your price range. I don't know how BI4L they'll be though. Don't solar panels lose their effieciency over time? Also the 7s26 movement uses a few plastic gears. I don't know much about the insides of the Mako. They should all last 30 years easily though with some maintenance (taking for a tune up every 5-10 years).
Nippies are my favorite, and are reusable https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001PU9A9Q
Timex Weekender
Price: $25
Movement: Quartz
Style: Casual
Size: 38mm
Link: Timex, Amazon, and Image
Description: Many a first watch, this casual beater is what turned myself an a lot of this community on to watches. It goes with everything and its remarkably fun to pair with a NATO.
Sometimes I like the silicone nipple pasties(pros: reusable, comfortable, smooth, skin like. cons: expensive, sometimes thick and visible): one, the petals tend to blend better
But then other times I want something simpler, so I go for the paper-y, one use ones. You can find these with all adhesive and with no adhesive in the middle if your nips are sensitive. one two
I only go braless in really loose tops, or really snug ones that help shape my boobs a little. Or in clothing where a bra would show(fancy dresses, hellooo).
As far as nipples in our culture, I don't really want to see your whole entire boob hanging out of your shirt in public, but I won't die if I do see it. I don't take a stance, really, on the whole "men can walk around shirtless but women can't and that's wrong" debate.
Wear your shirt, don't wear your shirt, wear a bra, don't wear a bra--unless you're trying to be sexual to my toddler, it doesn't bother me.
It looks like you don't need a whole lot of support, just nipple coverage? If so, and if the cups are sewn on top of the lining, you could carefully remove them yourself and just use stick on covers like these.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001PU9A9Q/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I use them all the time, and they are SO comfortable, you won't even know they're there. I'll be using them on my wedding day (I have a similar neckline to yours, also backless).
Optima watch case
Alright, I've given you guys 48 hours to post this one, so here it is:
SEIKO 5 SNZH55
Price: $133.16
Movement: 7s36B
Style: Diver
Size: 42mm
Link: Amazon, Pic
Description: Great looking Seiko 5 series diver, often used for fifty fathoms mods (but in stock form looks great). This is the standard black version, it is also available in blue, black with gold accents, and a gold tone version.
If I were you I'd check out JCPenny if you can today.
They have several non-iron Stafford OCBD's for $15. I bought one of their fitted shirts and it fits and feels amazing. They also have gingham broadcloth shirts on clearance for $11. You can spend around $50 and pick up 4 nice shirts for work from them.
While you're there I'd also check out the Stafford wingtips if that's what you're looking for. Right now they're $50 and are widely accepted as one of the best buys for the $$.
If you're fine with chinos you should swing by H&M if there's one near you. I picked up two slim fit chinos (not skinny) for $15 each, and they fit me very well. I had to size down a size, but the fit is on point.
Shoes shirt and pants should be first I think. Once you pick up the shoes you want, you'll want a matching belt. At your budget I think I'd try somewhere like Marshalls for a cheap $5 belt that would last you a few seasons, until you make enough to buy a better quality one.
If you don't have to wear a tie, maybe consider investing in a watch. The Timex Weekender gets circlejerked a lot, but I think it's a wonderful starter watch. You can buy a couple of straps eventually, and that would let you have another piece to help rotate work outfits.
To recap:
Which leaves you with $35 to work with. You could buy a better belt for $40, or buy a couple of watch straps. You could buy more expensive shirts, or simply more shirts. Maybe more pants? All up to you, but I'd suggest the budget that I outlined.
Once you move to San Francisco, I'd HIGHLY RECOMMEND going to Uniqlo in person to try on their OCBD's. The fit on their stuff can vary sometimes, but trying it on before you buy would save you that headache.
Good luck, hope that helps
A cheap Timex that I got on Amazon. Based on my hourly billing rate, I take shits that cost more than my watch.
https://www.amazon.com/Timex%C2%AE-Reader-Brown-Leather-T20041/dp/B000B55AEA/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1473391504&sr=8-9&keywords=timex
I'm glad you couldn't find the "Steve Jobs" Seiko honestly. It's a horrendously overpriced, mediocre quartz watch. It is a nice minimalistic style, but you can achieve the same effect for $10:
https://www.amazon.com/Casio-Quartz-Resin-Casual-Watch/dp/B000JNKABW/ref=sr_1_2
This one you got though is pretty awesome, looks great with nice lumed hands and numerals.
If you want something super supportive that doesn't hide things and won't give you the squashed-down uniboob look, check out the Panache underwired sports bra -- but only once you've been properly fitted!
That outfit make you look like a high schooler. Though if that's the vibe your going for awesome, but I doubt it.
I'm going to assume you're in your early 20's and not a high schooler, nor do you wish to look like one.
The biggest issue with this outfit is that there is no unity between the pieces, it looks like you just threw on whatever was in your closet that day. My goal is to keep your overall style the same, but make it look a bit less immature. Try out some of these tips, and I think you'll be amazed at the difference.
As for your point about shoes not being as important as people say, I have to disagree. Look at this and this. Just changing the shoes has a profound effect on the overall look and formality of the outfit.
P.S. This is my favorite outfit for going out, though sometimes I go more basic with just a V-neck.
This sports bra literally changed my life. I can run, jump rope, jumping jack without fearing giving myself a black eye. I echo the others, head over to /r/ABraThatFits and check your size, and then immediately get this bra.
I've had the Casio MQ-24-7BLL for almost three years, battery died this month though.
Purchased the bad boy for only around £8 at the time too.
In this price range, it's probably going to be a dive watch and most likely a Seiko or Orient. Here are a few:
Nippies!
They're expensive up front but last forever. Just wash them as necessary.
http://www.amazon.com/Nippies-Skin-Reusable-Silicone-ADHESIVE/dp/B001PU9A9Q
Just depends on your preference. Personally, I heartily support freeboobing. If you want a bra but don't want your straps to show, you can wear a strapless or bandeau bra. If you don't need support but don't want your nipples to show, use pasties like Nippies.
If you are breastfeeding/pumping I LOVED this pumping bra. I would pump at night while washing dishes or bottles. Lol. Made life easy. I also agree with the above comments- nose frida snot sucker is amazing and I LOVE my ergo!
Simple Wishes Hands-Free Breastpump Bra, Pink, XS-L https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00295MQLU/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_0.ayub008Y9KQ
If you don't want to squash them, avoid "compression bras" and look for "encapsulation bras." Encapsulation bras will have separate cups, like this Freya Active, Panache Sport, and Panache Sport Non-wired.
Casio F91W-1
Casio MQ24-1E
Casio MQ24-7B
Timex Men's Expedition Scout
These are what I have and rotate through, they're pretty great.
Pay no attention to douchebags like /u/Koczk88. Some people can't handle anonymity and insist on being miserable little twats.
Describing that watch as the "white t-shirt of the watch world," is spot on. I like it a lot, it's simple, functional, and versatile as hell. As someone whose world travel consisted of carrying a rifle around shit hole deserts, I'm extremely jealous of your trip! Enjoy and be safe!
Here it is on Amazon US though the ref. ends with an FM, where yours has a DR.. looks the same though.. maybe a different hand set..
You might want to try the Panache sports bra if you haven’t already. Zero movement, very comfy, breathes well, no uniboob, looks good. Definitely use the r/abrathatfits measurement and sizing guide if you haven't worn Panache before. It’s not cheap and it’ll probably take a few tries to find the perfect size but it’s so worth it.
The Casio MDV106-1AV is a perfect daily use watch and does look like the Rolex Submariner but is a great watch in it's own right. It is quartz rather than automatic but considered by many to be best available budget dive watch. You can purchase the bracelet for it for less than $30.
If you must have an automatic rather than a quartz then the Orient Ray II is a great option that is also similar to the Submariner in terms of design but again a quality time piece in and of itself.
And if you aren't bothered about having the Rolex style looks, the Seiko SNZH55 is designed along the lines of the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms and also an excellent timepiece.
NIPPLE COVERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Go. Be free.
Yeah, for that you would need a pair of these.
Get this one instead. Looks better.
I started wearing one for work when I found myself getting twitchy in meetings and other circumstances where it would be impolite to pull out a cell phone or crane my neck to see a clock. I now am uncomfortable if I leave the house and forget it.
I have sturdy wrists so dainty watches don't work for me at all. My daily watches are a Nixon Kensington in all gold, and a two-tone Timex men's Easy Reader, both bought on sale. I will probably upgrade at some point in the future, now that I know that I am a committed watch wearer.
$10.20 plus shipping gets the a Pope watch! https://www.amazon.com/Casio-Quartz-Resin-Casual-Watch/dp/B000JNKABW
aye dude fuck what people say its a nice looking watch and its pretty cheap. I have gotten more compliments on that watch than any of my other watches. You can also get it in silver. Those are the two main watches I wear
I think watches, specifically mechanical watches, are fascinating. You could get a nice looking seiko like this for 70 bucks
Edit: search "seiko 5" on Amazon for a lot of different similarly priced options
Can't recommend the Simple Wishes pumping bra enough. I just pull up my shirt, unclip or pull down whatever I have on as a bra or undershirt, and zip the bra on. It takes like ten seconds and allows me to get a ton of work done while pumping. It's around $30 and has held up really well for me. They sell the same one at Target (branded as Lansinoh) but it doesn't come with the extra extender thing included like the Amazon one does.
When my SIL had her baby a month after I had mine, she unexpectedly had to start exclusively pumping her first week PP, and I bent over backwards to deliver her one of these bras the day she started. That's how essential it is to me! She bought a second one the next day.
Aside from pumping bras, you could also consider Pumpin' Pals. They allow you to lean back when you're pumping instead of having to awkwardly hunch forward. I haven't tried them myself but I've heard good things.
I’m 10 months postpartum and a 30G and I sooo feel you. That said, here are the two bras that worked for me!
Wacoal Women's Maternity Contour... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06WWHJTG3?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Freya Women's Pure Uw Moulded... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JUPMJPA?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I also recommend this wraparound bra for pumping (it goes over any existing bra or just over your boobs and is super adjustable) instead of a dedicated pumping bra, if you end up doing that:
Simple Wishes Signature Hands... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00295MQLU?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Good luck and congrats on your baby!!
I bought it from amazon:
Optima Unisex 33-190 Black Twenty-Watch Case with Zipper https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002CVUODS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_IzvrAb7VHB3H3
Watch bands are interchangable, so pick based on the actual watch.
I prefer the cream face this one has
Not a lot on Amazon at the $25 price range, but I guess I'd recommend the Timex Weekender as a good casual watch. Alternatively, you can wait until they have a sale on them, which should be as low as $20.
36E is the same as 36DDD!
Are you wearing sports bras that are sized like S, M, L (like this: http://blog.dealrocker.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/Nike-Pro-Racerback-Bra.jpg ) or that are sized according to your bra size? If it's the former, that's probably your issue.
I do a lot of HIIT which requires bouncing around a LOT and I really like Panache Sport: http://www.amazon.com/Panache-Womens-Underwired-Sports-Bra/dp/B005X5FG2O and Shock Absorber bras including the Ultimate Run bra: http://www.amazon.com/Shock-Absorber-Womens-Ultimate-Sports/dp/B00IABYO9E/ref=sr_1_2?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1420749921&sr=1-2&keywords=shock+absorber (Note: If you happen to buy the Ultimate Gym bra... it sizes really small, so adjust accordingly. The Ultimate Run bra sizes true to size).
At 36DDD, though, you can totally buy sports bras from Victoria's Secret that will be sized according to your actual bra size and they are much more widely available. Be sure to jump around a ton in the dressing room! I can't speak to them much because I am not in the size range that Victoria's Secret serves, but I am sure that they are totally adequate.
That's weird, that has literally never happened to me. I'm 33 and I wear watches every day and none of them are over 38mm. My everyday beater that I wear to work/wherever is a Timex EasyReader (I've gone through a few at this point). Case diameter is 35mm, and there's not much feminine about that watch. If you wanted something nicer looking but similar you could get a Daniel Wellington which is has 36mm and 40mm options.

None. There's at least one benefit to having tiny tatas!
ETA: I actually technically wear these all the time, and they've changed my life.

I don't remember who to thank for this but I first saw this somewhere here on reddit and immediately bought one to organize my collection a bit. I probably should have ordered another one or two because all those ^ are just the 20mm's. I've got a couple of 18's, quite a few 21's because of my SNA411 and a bunch of 22's that are in various boxes or bags or just collecting dust on shelves.

Timex Weekender A very versatile watch that looks good on a variety of straps.
Casio Forester has the advantages of a digital and an analog. 100m water resistance so it's safe for pool, beach or shower.
For $30, your best bet is Casio. They make good quality watches at very low prices. It's just a matter of picking out the style and features you like.
Sorry guys, got busy and forgot to add a list.
I know this is r/AskMen, but I'd like to chime in as a woman who also generally goes braless (I'm a small B cup). My issue with going braless was the prominence of my nipples. They just seem to want everyone to look at them and that made me way too self conscious. I bought these and I love them! Now I can be braless and comfortable without it being obvious.
I love these ones that you can order on amazon. They are reusable and work really well!

Hmmm...double pump, electric or manual? If electric, totally buy this...I used it ALL the time at work!!
Have you tried a pumping bra? It holds me up and in place and theres no wiggle room for the flanges.
I use this one. https://www.amazon.com/Simple-Wishes-Signature-Patented-XS-Large/dp/B00295MQLU/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?keywords=pumping%2Bbra&qid=1558913714&s=gateway&sprefix=pumping&sr=8-4&th=1&psc=1
I'm so sorry it's been so hard.
Not OP, but it looks like this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002CVUODS/
They may very well help with your vision and how clear you see the screen, but they aren't going to magically give you better skills at the game. These are just $80 pair of these.
Yeah, but some merchants keep trying to sell an HD upgrade that doesn't really change anything and just ads a piss colored tint to everything when equipped.
I think you'd be better off with something that isn't gold, to be honest. The silver version is also nice: http://www.amazon.com/Seiko-Sports-SNZH55-Stainless-Steel/dp/B0045D6570/ref=sr_1_1?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1409262882&sr=1-1&keywords=SNZH55
Having an idea of your wrist diameter would help. Anyways, I have small wrists too and wathches with dials in the range 35 - 38 mm such as this Timex Easy Reader or Timex weekender work for me.
I love my Panache Sport! I wear it for everything like biking, hiking, ballet, traveling, and horseback riding. It would be quite difficult to stock enough sizes for a small business though.

Honestly, I get the most compliments of any watch I own when I wear this simple Timex Weekender, and because it's so cheap, you can afford to buy a couple of other bands to add versatility. They're clean, go with pretty much every outfit, and work fine.
obligatory Timex Weekender.
Pick a color, any color.
For casual wear I'd suggest a nylon band, something like this one or this if feeling patriotic. This and this if brown leather is your thing. Get whatever your eye fancies.
Heck, just buy a watch with a clean silver face/bevel and then get two extra straps to go along with it.
Correct! I purchased that exact model for my costume! Edit: Also, the adjustment on the watch band can be a bit tricky, this video will help.
You can never go wrong with a Timex Weekender or EasyReader. Those two are the most recommended on here, and you can probably find them cheap on Amazon. However, you would probably have better and more in-depth advice over at /r/watches.
Casio A168. Classic. I have about $30k worth of watches and I was stoked to pick one of these up.
Casio Men's Vintage A168WA-1YES Electro Luminescence Watch https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000LAKYW8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_ujhqDbMR5J2GJ
I would suggest a black watch of some sort, as casios are my favorite, I can use those as an example.
Streetwear
Retro - my favorite
Different retro
Minimalist
Crazy
Not all 100% black, but they at least got a little bit of black in them. I think part of wearing a watch is being able to balance how busy it looks on your wrist with how busy the rest of your outfit is. If you're going for streetwear, wearing a flashy watch is a lot easier than for someone going for a business casual look (of course there are exceptions). I'd say look at these and see if any would mesh with your wardrobe. Even if not, get the calculator one or the analog minimal one just to experiment with watches. They're cheap and it's fun as hell.
Haha yeah it's $18 on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000LAKYW8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_zr6QCbSX5ZY4A.
Sweet of you to offer to buy it for me. I'll just ask my wife to get it for me for Father's day or something haha
Nippies!
Literally my favorite sticky pasty. Its the BEST thing I've ever had. I get really sweaty boobs, and these things just let the sweat roll off without losing the adhesive. HIGHLY suggest it
These have worked really well for me.
I also had a difficult time breastfeeding so I switched to exclusive pumping. My son is now 13 months old, and I still pump. I have a few tips which might help.
1 - she needs to have a good pumping bra in order to leave her hands-free. I didn't know this at the beginning and spent so much time holding the pump flanges for 20+ minutes at a time, while hurting my hands because you have to keep them still to retain suction. Now, I pump while I'm eating dinner, on the computer, while feeding my son a bottle of pumped milk, or even while traveling in the car. This is the bra that I use and its great. It's got velcro in the back and holds well. I could not have made it without this bra. I can still pump while holding my 13 month old son, using this bra (though its awkward!)
2 - The first 3 months is when supply gets solidified, so be very sure what she wants to do before dropping pumps. Its more difficult to reestablish a supply than continue a good one, of course. But its always an option to supplement with formula, which I did as well.
3 This board is for exclusive pumpers and it is insanely active hah. Any questions posted there will get a very quick response.
Its tough but consider pumping at least twice a day to keep giving your baby the antibodies - apparently if you pump less, the concentration of antibodies is higher.

I bought this Optima Band Organizer off Amazon after another poster on here showed theirs off. At first I thought I had just enough bands to fill it, when I realized that it had a whole other side hidden behind a separator panel!
Plenty of Seikos don't cost anything like as much as the SKX007: for example, the SNZH55 (which I own) - Amazon link
I think most people here will agree that they are bloody good watches, particularly in the "value for money" category.
Really wouldn't suggest it, there is a fairly similar Seiko 5 in your price range which would be of much better quality and within your price range. Parnis watches are known to be slightly questionable in their qc.
Edit: there are lots of similar Seiko 5s but here is one somewhat like that (and slightly cheaper): http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0045D6570/ref=pd_aw_sims_1?pi=SY115&simLd=1
Posting another one of my favorite cheap but stylish watches I've added to my rotation. I purchased the OD Weekender a few weeks back and something about it just didn't float my boat. After scouring the web for a decent Nato strap seller, I purchased this strap along with two others from The Nato Strap Co. and immediately fell in love with my Timex's new look.
Though I love the Weekender's high looks/price ratio above everything else, I especially like how easy and readily it accepts new Nato straps. I look forward to purchasing and photographing more in the future.
Thanks for taking a look!

Personally, I prefer the Timex Easyreader.
Black, Dark Brown, Light Brown
A lot of girls have given me compliments about my Timex Easy Reader with a brown strap. I've caught people staring at my wrist too.
Well, it's bound to be a Seiko, isn't it. So why not the classic Orange Monster.
Plenty of options for low-cost diver-style watches. The two most popular sub-$300 ones seem to be:
Pretty sure it’s this one.
I've had more compliments on my $15 A168 than all of my other watches combined. Seriously.
It's also one of my favorite watches.
These nipple covers are the best. I can wear them with a really tight top and they don't show at all. Just make sure you get the right color. I have both the adhesive and non-adhesive versions, but I like the adhesive version better for when I'm wearing a loose top.
Yes! I would highly recommend silicone ones that you can continuously reuse. I bought these from Amazon and they've been amazing.
No show throughs, quick cleaning, no movements, hassle free!
I wear these. I like them the best out of everything i've seen. They have not sticky version too.

This is totally extra, but what about fabric pasties for see-through coverage under the larger silicone pasties? So these under these. Nippies brand is absolutely the best either way.
Spectra hands down. Pretty much any cups will work with the right adapters. Any pump combo can be hands free with a bra designed for pumping (there are lots with specific folds to hold the flanges.
I just put this on top after I loosened my bra and pulled it up: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00295MQLU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_lbCkDbN5GX2V5
I don't think Freemie is quite as covert as intended, more so than others, but I wouldn't buy it just to be hands free.
I exclusively pumped for a year! My boy was born at 37 weeks and just wasn’t big enough to get a good latch, so I began pumping when his weight gain wasn’t where it should be. Here’s some tips that kept my sanity throughout that year.

Timex Weekender. Tons of options and very economically priced. Only downside is that it ticks very loudly.
If you want to go a bit pricier, Skagen is on the better end of "fashion" watches quality wise, and I genuinely love the look of a lot of their models, particularly this one.
Also, check out Seiko, Citizen and Bulova for some of their more basic looking models. You can't go wrong with any of the brands I named, I own one of all of these except Skagen, but I know they're good stuff. It just comes down to how big of a watch you want and how much you want to spend.
Timex Weekender is a great, inexpensive watch. I'm afraid you overpaid, especially for used. Brand new on Amazon is just over $30

Quartz movements are actually extremely accurate (more so than automatic)
How about a Seiko dive watch? Looks a lot like a Rolex Submariner. Invicta makes one too. They look good with jeans/casual and also look okay dressed up.

Gah that pisses me off to no end. "Oh here, fight for our country and enjoy your shitty benefits"...
I had the pump in style. Whatever you do, get a double electric pump, and a pumping band. Lets you go hands free while you pump so you can surf the interwebs, etc - this lets you distract yourself from the actual process and relax, letting your milk pump easier.
I use this one u/yourenomatch

If all you have to do during your day is bitch about someone else's watch, I would say that person really needs better priorities in their life. Or needs to get laid. Or both.

None of those are going to win a bunch of support around here. If I had to choose between those three... Skagen quality can be sketchy, Tissot is a well-respected brand but $200 for a simple quartz dress watch is getting high, and the Bulova is just another quartz fashion watch... I'm stumped but I think I might opt for the Tissot.
Have you checked out the Orient website? They have 30-50% coupon codes you can use. Also consider something like this solar/quartz or this mechanical + a leather band as alternate options.
I would take a look at this post Most Popular Seiko 5s
My personal recommendation is the SNZ17 "Sea Urchin" it's a really classy watch (I have one myself). Check this video out Bond on a budget
These are the ones I use!
I get over a year of moderate use from these [reusable pasties.] (I don't know whether that brand is available there, though.) It feels so free if you don't have much in the way of boobage. Amaze and annoy all your big-boobed friends!
We started doing a bottle feeding every night or every other night at about three weeks (that way we were far enough in to avoid nipple confusion). I currently work full time and my husband is a stay at home dad. My baby nurses while I'm home and takes my milk from a bottle when I'm at work.
When you introduce the bottle, make sure your husband is the only one feeding her with it (you're not even around). If the baby sees you, smells you, etc. it might be much more difficult. Have him switch which sides he feeds baby on, and take little breaks so the baby can process feeling full. Only use slowflow nipples (you should never need to use bigger ones).
Here's my pumping and feeding system:
I get up early and pump for about 30 min. while I eat breakfast (I have a double pump with this, it is a big time saver). I get ready for work and then I wake her up to nurse before I leave. She goes back to bed, I go to work, and dad feeds her my pumped milk during the day. (She drinks about 18 oz while I'm gone.)
I pump at work during my lunch hour. When I get home I pump before I feed her. Then I feed her pretty much all evening.
So three prolonged pumping sessions supply her with her daily milk. On the weekends I freeze the extra (just in case it's needed).
I think it's important to pump in the morning--you will probably wake up with lots! Also, pumping BEFORE you feed her can be really helpful--the pump will only get the most readily available milk, and your baby will be able to get the deeper reserves. Plus, that will stimulate increased milk production. I know some moms who get up at night to pump if their baby sleeps through the night. Check out kellymom.com.

These days at 10 months, I can often get away with only pumping once during my 8 hours work day. Especially since she always wants to nurse a bunch right when I get home.
So I feed my 3 month old daughter at about 5:30-6:00AM. I usually leave my house around 7:00. I've been power pumping the last few days to increase my pumping output (20 min on, 10 min rest, 10 min on, 10 rest, 10 on, and quit) but normally I would only pump 20-25 minutes. After that first pump of the day I pump at 11:00 for 25 min and then again at 3:00 for 25 min. Those sessions usually get me enough milk for the next day at daycare (four 4 oz bottles so total of 16 ounces). I'm going to start pumping right before bed to maybe work up a little stash! The car pump gets me the most output since it's earlier in the morning.
I have the Spectra S2. I really like it. I think it retails around $300 in the US if insurance wouldn't buy it. If you are committed to pumping while at work I would definitely invest in a dual, hospital grade pump. My pumping bra is this one. When I'm ready to pump I just pull my shirt and bra up and strap on the pumping bra. So far I have no complaints! I have yet to find a pumping bra I would wear in replacement of a real bra.
When pumping make sure to have the correct fitting breast flanges! That's really important. Mine were too small and my supply started dropping just after a week. The correct fitting ones make a big difference in comfort and output.
Umm... DRINK all the water and EAT all the food!
That's kind of a review of my setup :)
I use this.

Whoa thanks /u/tross13!
I didn't expect you to deliver in such a short notice. I appreciate you took the time and effort to do this. This is so cool, people like you make this subreddit shine. I too got the Seiko bug.Got my first one two weeks ago. Since everyone seems to go for the very popular SNK007 (for a good reason, this watch is truly amazing) i wanted something a little different and went for the SNZ55 . I couldn't be happier. What everyone says is true : Seiko delivers a lot a bang for the buck. Thanks again OP!!
This goes brand new on amazon for $132

Looks like the reflection of a typical wristwatch, with the cuff of a white button-down shirt in the upper left corner. In fact, from the image I’d guess that this is a Timex weekender watch, due to the rounded chrome face and large numerals. u/Barnst probably took this pic from a bus or while driving.
https://www.amazon.com/Timex-Unisex-T2N647-Weekender-Slip-Thru/dp/B004VR9HP2?th=1&psc=1
It's nice, but you can get a Weekender for about the same price.
You could spend more money on a better color, but you can easily change the straps on Weekenders by just unthreading them, so I'd suggest going over to Crown & Buckle and picking out a strap that you like. This one looks incredible on red-second-hand Weekenders.
I purchased this watch over a year ago, and it's still going strong. The retail price is over 100, but I believe it can be had on sale fairly easily if you look around.
It's an automatic, and I've seen some complaints about a loud tick, but that's not been the case at all for me. It's certainly more quiet than the Weekender by Timex, which may also interest you. My only complaint about the Rodina was that the strap it came with was terrible quality, which is unsurprising at the price point. I just purchased an assortment of NATO straps, including one leather, that I switch out frequently.
Another option, outside of the Timex, is this Seiko. It's another automatic, and it's regarded as one of the more reliable budget watches. Seiko has several other watches in the 50-150 price range you may be interested in, so I'd shop around for one that fits your criteria.
You have some options, but if I were you, I'd make my main focus reliability. A lot of cheap watches will stop working fairly quickly, and after that, it doesn't matter how pretty it is. It's now your most handsome paperweight. Stay away from brands like Invicta. If it looks like a Rolex but costs less than a trip to Olive Garden, it's probably trash.
Edit: Spelling errors.

I own one. It's super loud. Like don't take this thing into a movie theater because its all you will hear loud. I love it so much. Band is 20mm so feel free to get tons of bands just change out whenever. Although mine has a gold face unlike the silver in OP's picture. Same watch otherwise though.
Edit: Typo'd the bandwidth and I should read more closely But I'll leave this up in case anyone is curious about the watch.

I think it looks so pretty
Perhaps a nice gift? :3
You can also purchase these from this fine site
On Amazon they have "womens" and "unisex" versions of the weekender listed.
Or perhaps she would like a swatch? I recently got this one and I love it. It's fun and colorful and comfortable.
Brands I'd look at in that price range;
Seiko, Citizen, Bulova, Timex, Wenger, Victorinox, ESQ, Orient, maybe entry level Tissot range.
Also, on most watches, you can replace the bracelet with an after market strap of your choice, so, don't get to hung up on what strap it comes with.
Some possibilities;

Maybe it's reasonable for a new model, but it's over 2x the usual price.
Found this one on amazon, looks pretty similar, but for $45.
You could toss a weekender on a leather NATO
It's a bit harder to get diagnose fit and for some people to get the best possible fit in a moulded bra, but if you're not at all open to wearing a non-moulded bra, that's totally your choice. Your measurements put you between band sizes as well as between cup sizes, so you're likely to wear a 32 band in some bras and a 34 in others (in addition to being between cup sizes).
I'm putting only amazon links in here for ease of shipping/returns. Everything I've linked is available on Prime, but it might default to another seller if the size you choose is out of stock or they have a lower price so just pay attention when you're adding stuff to your cart as other sellers will have their own return policies.
For absolute basic, 'everyday' bras, your best choice to start would probably be Freya Deco. This bra runs bigger in the band, so you'll probably do fine in a 32 band here.
Personally I prefer the fit of the Parfait Jeanie to the Deco, I find the cups/straps are a little closer together so it's much more comfortable for me. (Also it's $20 cheaper, though, I'd still pay the extra money for something that fit better).
Strapless bras are fairly difficult to come by in larger sizes, the Deco Strapless is what I would consider the most useful one, it also comes in a longline version which may be more supportive if you don't find this sufficient. It is tighter in the band than the regular Deco, so you may take a 34 in this.
Panache Sport is probably the most consistently recommended bra on this sub, it comes in underwired and non-wired versions. It's not moulded, the cups are seamed and made of flexible foam. The underwires in the wired version are padded, so it's pretty comfy. You'll probably take a larger band in this based on the fact that you're lifting and doing yoga, and not running.
However, since the Panache sport is an encapsulation bra, it's really not my first choice for yoga. I prefer this Shock Absorber which is a strong compression bra, to just flatten my boobs as much as possible to get them as much out of the way as they can get. This runs tight in the band, so I might suggest trying a 36 band. The sizing is kind of weird on this as well, the boob section never gets any wider, it just gets taller (I own this in a FF and H cup in the same band size), so if you try it and think it doesn't provide enough coverage and is showing too much very squished cleavage, just size up even if it's a cup size much larger than you would normally wear.
$250 is a bit of a tight budget for the number of bras you want, but really not impossible once you've narrowed down your size. Even based on Amazon-pricing, if you like the Parfait Jeanie, you can get 3 of those, the Deco Strapless, and a sports bra for $260.....but you can also get 3 Decos, the Deco Strapless, and a Panache Sport from here for £161 which converts to $213USD. You can also often find new with tags bras on ebay from UK sellers that are selling off previous seasons' printed or fashion colour bras.
I would recommend trying out a wired sports bra if you can. Having a bra that encapsulates your breasts instead of compressing them really helps with comfort, support, and prevents uniboobing. I have this one by panache and I love it.
Have you ever double checked your size at /r/abrathatfits? I am asking because most stores tend to fit everyone busty into DDD sizes which often results in bad bra fit that can be the main reason for painful and uncomfortable bras. I went from 32DDD to wearing 28GG bras from UK bra brands and have stopped having issues with shoulder steps digging in and band not providing enough support. Not to mention that the bras make my boobs look way nicer. Before, I would attempt to alter the band too but it never worked too well.
There are lots avaliable on the internet, in different pretty colors, styles and patterns from bust friendly UK bras. Sometimes it's harder to find plain ones. Most are fairly pricy, but I have found lots of $40 bras on sale in my size before. Nordstoms if you have one near also stocks lots of DD+ sizes in all kinds of styles, brands and colors!
For sports bras, I really recommend Panache sports bra. https://www.amazon.com/Panache-Womens-Underwire-Sports-Bra/dp/B005X5FG2O It's supportive, very comfortable and makes exercising not a terrible experience. There are lots of sales too so if you don't mind the more colorful styles, you can generally find a discounted style fairly easily.
try this one. trust.
Oh noooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!! I forgot my underwear a few weeks ago so now I keep a spare pair my gym bag JIC.
PS - Say goodbye to uniboob! Check out Panache Sport. I've also heard great things about Wacoal and Chantelle's sports bras but so far my Panache sport's bras are my favs. I have two with wires and two without and they are seriously the best sports bras I've ever worn.
I recently purchased a Panache sports bra and love it! http://www.amazon.com/Panache-Womens-Underwired-Sports-Bra/dp/B005X5FG2O
However, my breasts are full on bottom. But the shape of the bra seems like it would hold in the top fullness. Maybe someone else here will have experience with this one and full on top? Good luck!
Hey there! Definitely not an expert here (I'm sure one of them will check in) but I used to have the same problems. Sports bras are the worst with a pendulous shape- I felt like I was always trying to escape out the bottom of a too-big band! I was jealous of my friends who could just buy a cheap one off the rack in some store labeled in "S, M, L" sizing and make it work. That was definitely not going to happen for me. Looking back, I think most of them had firmer tissue and were self-supporting, so they had a completely different shape than I did.
You'll definitely want to measure yourself according to the sidebar guidelines so that you have a better size to start with. Then, there are lots of sports bras that have adjustable bands and straps, and even different types of hold.
My favorite turned out to be the Panache Sports Bra (I like both the wired and non-wired for different activities). I get incredible lift and support, and absolutely no movement. It's on the expensive side, but I've never been more comfortable in a sports bra and I don't dread working out anymore. Plus, Amazon has lots of sales, so I've rarely paid full price. If it works with your measurements, I recommend trying it! If not, there's lots of other styles to try, and this sub was very helpful in making a few recommendations for me when I was looking. Hopefully you find something that works for you!
I am a 30G (measured over at /r/ABraThatFits). I finally broke down and ordered the sports bra from Panache. Assuming you're all measured and properly fitted into the correct bra size, this thing is a miracle!
It doesn't use compression, but more of an encapsulation technique.. if that makes sense? It's the most amazing invention in the world of large-breasted athletes. If you can spare the cash, I would highly recommend it.

You can usually get them at Target/Walmart for around $30 or $35 in the US but I see them go from $30 to $20 on Amazon every now and then. Just wait a bit. If you're really desperate sometimes certain styles or colors go onto those price drop sites for $15. Usually someone here will link them if that happens.
Just keep checking amazon and this sub and you'll see a deal pop up soon.
The font on the Xentum is pretty unique. If that's what you like most about the watch I'm not sure where to point you. That said, the Timex weekender has a similar simple white face and you could easily swap in a red nato strap for another $15 bucks. I'd recommend a Seiko809 over the Timex because I feel like it's better bang for your dollar but, to my knowledge, they do not offer it with a white face.
Something about that watch sorta reminds me of this Braun watch but I'm not sure swapping the strap would be as easy/possible.

Silver case, white face
Most versatile. You can switch out the straps easily.
Here you go, Timex Weekender.
OP what style do you like? Do you ever visit /r/watches?
At the moment I go back and forth between two watches, but I'd certainly like to have more for more occasions.
I wear this one for work.
And this one for everything except work.
I'd say my style is definitely simple looking watches with white faces. Anyone have any other recommendations in that style?
Most really rugged watches will be durable, like a Casio G-Shock. The Casio DW-5600 is excellent for that. I'll make a list of some other options!
Dressy-
Orient Bambino ~$130-$200
Seiko SARB035 ~$400
Citizen Eco-Drive AW1236-03A ~$100
Rugged-
Cadio G-Shock DW-5600 ~$50
Casio G-Shock GA100A-7A ~$70
Victorinox 241675 ~$150
Digital-
Casio F91W ~$10
Casio "World Time" ~$25
Timex Marathon ~$15-$20
Entry Level Mechanical-
Seiko SNK809 ~$60-$75
Orient Mako II ~$150
Invicta Pro-Diver (Submariner Homage) ~$80
Fantastic Quartz-
Timex Weekender ~$20-$30
Timex Expedition ~$50
Casio "Duro" MDV-106 ~$45
I think the Orient Bambino would be a good pick (it's also available in a silver finish but black band so you'd have to change that yourself), more interesting than a sea of similar Bulova, Citizen, and Seiko quartz dress watches.
This Seiko Chronograph might be nice also but busier. And coming in well below budget is the Timex Forty Weekender.
I'm trying to decide on a Timex Weekender to be paired mainly with casual/denim clothing. The more versatile, the better. It appears the main things to decide on are 1. case size (40mm or 38mm), 2. face style (chronograph or standard), 3. face color, and 4. strap color. Below are a few of the options I've been looking at; I'm open to other ideas also.
40mm
38mm
Timex Weekender https://www.amazon.com/Timex-T2P495-Weekender-Leather-Slip-Thru/dp/B00LW3RCW8
The Weekender, it's a quartz movement, and it can be fitted with basically any strap. You said your nephew is active, he can pick up a cloth NATO for himself for on ebay for something like $7-12.
Alternatively, you could do a Seiko 5, it's a rugged watch, but maybe slightly less suited to a 16 year old?
when i went to my interview most of the IT guys were wearing slacks / chinos and button downs with sweaters. some with a tie, some without. That's a far nicer dress code than anywhere else I've ever worked. This is uncharted territory for me.
I wasn't really thinking of a traditional dress watch. just something simple. like This Timex honestly.
Hi yall,
I am new to this hobby and looking for a low-cost watch that is casual smart. I've read way too many reviews, but still cannot decide which one deserves my hard earn cash.
Current Options:
I have heard the Weekender's ticking drives people insane, is it really that bad? I initially hated the Seiko dial, but the more I look at it, the more it grows on me.

Things that I would personally do differently: not that shirt with those jeans. Black jeans/khaki's and we'll talk. Pockets are too big. Lose the pocket watch, get a simple watch instead. Shoes look clown-sized, ditch that, I'd go for slimmer shoes (Puma style), or desert boots. And for the love of god, unless you're going to a glow party or something, don't match your laces to your shirt: do you want people to look up to your face, or at your feet?
On the fence about these boots and which color to get them in. I think I prefer the tan leather, but am not sure if they would be as versatile as the other options.
Also, could the tan leather match with this watch?
Most are cheap and cheerful Chinese brands that have been known to lose time and break down which is why people like to buy known respected brands.
If you just want day and a date with that price range, why not Timex https://www.amazon.com/Timex-T20041-Reader-Brown-Leather/dp/B000B55AEA/
Timex Men's T20041 "Easy Reader" Brown Leather Strap Watch is the full name I believe. I bought it from Amazon via this link: http://www.amazon.com/Timex-T20041-Reader-Brown-Leather/dp/B000B55AEA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396292093&sr=8-1&keywords=timex+leather
The best thing about the current outfit is the belt. Even that may be a little narrow/formal for the event, but it will do. You have four main items to focus in on this week. The most important being new shoes in a similar belt color and a watch. If you have the money new chinos and shirt.
Stafford Wing Tips for $42 are a good choice and can be found at your local JCPenny's. Read up on dress shoes and get something less formal. (Lighter shade of brown and brouging)
For the watch, a $27 Timex like this is a good deal and gives off a casual vibe. What ever watch you chose, get it from a reputable watch maker instead of a mall clothing brand. Timex, Seiko, Citizen.
Your current pants are baggier than what MFA typically recommends, an inch or two too long causing bunching by your ankles, and that is why you are seeing comments about poor fit. For your pants, I would get on the casual/slim end of the spectrum Gap's Lived in Slim khakis or a little more formal because of the leg creasing and fabric: Express Photographer. Pick a Light Brown, Lighter grey for less formal and a darker grey or navy blue for a little more formal.
For the Shirt I would highly recommend the Uniqlo OCBD. Sadly you may not receive in time so I would recommend J Crew's slim shirts. They fit similar but are a little more pricey. To make it more casual, get a shirt with a button collar, in a light summery color or patterned in a pleasing pattern like this.
Hope this helps and have fun next week!
There are a lot of intro to suit things in the sidebar.
Here's a quick run-down from what I know:
You need two suits, navy and charcoal. Both should be single breasted, 2 button (unless you're over 6'5" then 3), with notch lapels. The cut should be slim without being skinny, but you can get away with a slimmer cut @ 18 than you can in your late 20s.
You can stay simple with white, but I like a lighter blue with a bigger check like this, but again, a matter of preference.
The white shirt makes it easier to pick out a tie. If you're doing plain white, or a solid then you really should get a striped/patterned tie or at the very least it needs to be textured (silk knit). If you were to do a checked/striped shirt then pick a different pattern for the tie (e.g. checked shirt gets a regimental striped tie). You may or may not want to do a pocket square for an interview. I personally wouldn't for something as traditionally conservative as law school.
I think you should look at yellow for a predominant tie color, it's good for interviews.
I would look into getting brown shoes if you are wearing a navy suit, get a decent pair too as you'll want these for several years as well (try to get some leather bottomed oxfords).
Match your belt to your new shoes. The watch is a little weird, just seems like a hybrid of too many differing styles. Something as simple as the (perennially recommended in MFA) Timex Easy Reader is cheap and effective. It'll balance the look without overpowering. Leather strap is also better in a suit than metal.
Get a nice haircut before as well (well a few days before so it doesn't look too new when you interview).
Buy the suit in enough time to take it to a tailor, this really isn't negotiable, you must do this even if it looks like it fits off the rack. There's always a tweak. Also be sure to wear the shoes/shirt/etc you're going to wear to the interview to the tailor when you go to get alterations.
Anyone know where I can find these? I was gonna go crazy and get the beeswax color.
And I also needed a watch. Was thinking about this one?
How am I doing?

The MFA cheap watch of choice, the Timex Easy Reader.

If my arm is at my side it slides down just a bit but most of the time it stays about an inch away from the wrist. I've got the Timex Easy Reader with Brown band. Since it's not a heavy watch it doesn't slide down much.

I bought these last week, and they look nice and are for men!
Also they're pretty cheap.
I have 3 watches, for different roles. They're all quite inexpensive because I'm not big ballin' just yet, but IMO look good and perform great.

Wow, my girlfriend saw me looking at that purple MK and now she desperately wants one! Too bad it looks like they're out of stock basically everywhere.
She's got another Michael Kors and I'd say the quality is pretty alright. Assuming she takes good care of it I'm sure it'll last past a battery change. They're built by Fossil who builds a ton of name brand fashion watches too (Armani/Armani Exchange/Burberry/etc.), not saying Fossil is the end all be all but this specific MK seems solid. It's a fashion watch but it tells time and it doesn't feel majorly cheap like some Fossils I've handled so she thinks it's great.
I'm sorry you're having buyers remorse! That looks like a pretty unique two tone, I've never seen grey and rose gold together. For quality and unique/fashionable style I'd take a look at Invicta. They have a zillion styles and the four I own are very solid. The Invicta brand is known to have some build quality issues; I've heard about them with some of their cheaper/lower end watches but I've also heard across the board there can be some issues. It's just luck of the watch. Mine personally don't have any quality issues. They make automatics and quartz in all shapes and styles. If you see one that you really like (and it's not Rolex/Oris/etc. homage) than chances are you have to buy that watch to get that style. It will be worth it!
Seiko and Citizen make a really solid watch, IMO better build quality than an MK and an Invicta put together. I am not in love with all of their styles though. A lot of people tend to recommend Seiko 5s but I personally don't like many of their styles. Fashion does not seem to be Seiko and Citizen's foray; good build quality is! The only Seiko I own is an Orange Monster and I know it could definitely take a beating.
Lastly, tomchuk has the right idea looking on the WatchUSeek.com forums. People there are always offloading watches so it's a good way to see what your $300 can really get you. Most of those guys are really meticulous about their watches so a lot of the time you'll get a watch in very nice condition. You can definitely snag one of the more extravagant/expensive/fashionable Invictas there if you search around (if that's your style), and you can find cool old Seikos that are still tickin' like he posted.
Hope you find what you're looking for and please post pictures when you do!
My Seiko's have been through hell and back, deserts, oceans, festivals, roughhousing, winters in VA, Summers in Florida... and they keep coming back for more! I've got this guy on a rubber strap and a black one on a metal bracelet Orange Monster
Orange monster?
They probably meant this one.

I'm also typically carrying my Galaxy S8 and a pair of Shure Se535s.
Firstly, buy a Seiko 5. I paid £55 for [mine] (http://imgur.com/xEsspb9) and I am in love. You cannot get more for you money anywhere. Date and day, automatic movement, luminescent dial.
Like all new collectors, my real grail is proper in-house movement (just saw this in another post [A. Lange & Söhne movement] (http://www.reddit.com/r/Watches/comments/2aq1x2/a_lange_s%C3%B6hne_double_split_movement_outside_of/), this is watch we live for, dream of and hope one day we'll be lucky enough to own). Once you get interested in movements and the passion of horology it's hard to respect these fashion brands. That said, all new brands have to start somewhere.
Furthermore, my collection is very humble and I'm not a watch snob (I don't snub cheap watches - it's fashion watches I dislike). Here's my collection:
Can't wait to add some more automatic and mechanical movements to my collection. I need to add some watches from brands with great provenance and heritage, but I'm new to this and working with tight budgets. One thing I can say is that I won't ever buy a Gucci or Armani watch or any fashion brand.
When looking at brands without watchmaking provenance, Montblanc is a great example of how to do it right. They're relatively new to watchmaking but they're doing it with passion and care. As I say, every new watchmaking brand has to start somewhere - like every new collector - the key is passion.
It looks like one of those 20ish dollar Casios: https://www.amazon.com/Casio-A168WA-1-Electro-Luminescence-Watch/dp/B000LAKYW8/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=casio&qid=1562315320&s=gateway&sr=8-3 but in gold

Short answer: yes.
Ruthless as it is, I've tried stuff on in stores and then bought it on Amazon for cheaper—I've got some boots on the way now. I've also gotten a couple of staple watches for pretty good prices, but all of this is related to the fact that I have prime. Sometimes it's a weird system, as in the case of those boots, but if you're willing to learn how to work with it you can find pretty good stuff.
Have you looked at Orient watches? They are a Japanese brand who designs and manufacturers their watches entirely in house. They make watches with an unmatched value at the lower price ranges. Seiko is another Japanese brand that dominates your price point. For you I would consider the Orient Defender, Orient Bambino, Orient Ray II, Seiko 5 (any style you like) and Seiko SKX.
Here are a few links.

Perhaps the dressier Seiko 5s? Example.
I would pick up a swatch for the everyday/match most things piece to balance out what you have. Or save some coin and pick up a Seiko 5 — have fun with that gift card!
I'm just getting into watches again and this is my first automatic. I've been enjoying reading this subreddit and watching a lot of Youtube watch channels and picked up that the Seiko 5 line is a great entry level watch. Most people recommend the 809, but I didn't want to go for that one as I've already got my eye on a few other higher-end Flieger-type watches, so I wanted to find something different in the Seiko 5 line and this one caught my eye: https://www.amazon.com/Seiko-SNK789-Analog-Automatic-Silver/dp/B0018N0HL0. I've had it a week and it's been great. It's surprisingly high quality and looks even better in person than it does in pictures. I just put it on a NATO yesterday and that's been a nice change, too, although the bracelet it comes with is not bad, IMO.
These watches are all slightly more than $50. Seiko is a reputable brand. The watches should be fairly durable, though not as reliable as something more expensive. All three are automatics and the first two have exhibition case backs so you can see the inner workings.

I got everything on Amazon:
- Watch from Seiko
- Perlon band from Clockwork Synergy
- Leather band from Hadley Roma
- Buckle from Hadley Roma
The Seiko SKX line are usually diver models.
Here's some more
I will be the first to tell you that you should ultimately buy the watch you want. And if this is that watch--go for it.
Having said that, I am a really big fan of sticking with the mechanical watch. Why? Because you really don't need a watch at all to keep time these days if you carry a mobile phone, like most people in most circumstances. That simple fact brings watches more towards the category of "accessory" as opposed to "gear," but there is one really big factor that can blur the sharpness of that distinction, and that is sticking with a mechanical watch.
Good mechanical watches cost more than good quartz watches of similar quality--that's a fact. But the reason for this is the quantum leap of craftsmanship that an accurate mechanical watch must possess. I mean, these things use synthetic rubies to reduce friction--that's what the jewel number indicates with watches like this or this or this. Take a glance at this clip about the detailing going into one of the least expensive mechanical watch houses you can buy from today, viz. Russia's Vostok (remember to turn on the English subtitles).
I have to admit, I'm not too keen on the styling of the Timex Weekender; so, I'd have to hunt around for a good, mechanical parallel. But if you have summarily dismissed mechanical watches as being uninteresting, I hope you'll reconsider. I bought my first two for $150 total thanks to ebay and a Christmas sale from Orient in the first case and Parnis in the second, and it was absolutely worth the additional expense given the dramatically greater level of craftsmanship. For me, this made the watch I wore something more than a mere fashion accessory; it became something like a wearable tribute to artisanship. If that's something you value, you might find that you like mechanical watches, too.
Seiko SNZF17 is also one to look at with more of the Submariner style.
If he's looking for a watch that's less "dainty" but is sleek enough to be worn with a suit, then maybe the Seiko SNZF17 "Sea Urchin". I've had mine for a couple months now and it's hard to not wear it most of the time. If you want more color, then maybe the pepsi bezel variant (SNZF15) would do the trick? You can usually find the black one on sale for between $100-130.
Up for sale is my Seiko SNZF17 with modded bezel insert. Seiko SNZF17 specs. I recently found a semi grail so now I need to let a few go. I bought this watch used and have had the watch less than 6 months with minor wear as you might expect with no marks on crystal or bezel that I can see. Keeps good time but I haven't officially checked. Comes with everything in the picture including the original bezel insert if you want to put it back on.
Asking $115 shipped to CONUS. Please feel free to ask questions and thank you for looking.
Thanks
I absolutely adore these. They're reusable and I never see them through clothing.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001PU9A9Q/
Yep. I just use these. I like visible bralettes for some outfits, but I've totally given up on strapless bras. I find this more comfortable.
Here's the amazon link if people want to get in on this amazingness. They're about 2.5 inches and comfortable enough to sleep in.
I've nursed my twins for 16 months now (and pumped at work for months 3-11). Here's my thoughts:
Bottles: I got tommee tippee. Medela makes bottles for the pump you can pump right into. My girls loved them, but they drank the milk SO FAST. Even the "slow flow" nipples were way too much. Everyone told me to get so many bottles but we were fine with about 10 between the two of them. I'd get no more than a couple of any brand to try before committing.
Formula: You don't need more than a small can on hand. It goes pretty far if you're just using it to supplement. They also sell these ready to use "nursettes" that just come with a disposable nipple you can screw on. This is probably what they'll have at the hospital. Depending on the hospital you can probably also get them to send a couple of packs of it home if you ask. Super convenient.
Pump: You need a pumping bra. Life changing. I had this and loved it. Also Lasinoh makes great bags that are great for storing/transporting the milk and cheaper and tougher than the medela bags.
Other: You might want to get some of the cheap nursing tanks that you can wear under any kind of shirt. Then you can just wear regular clothes out and about, and lift up the outer layer and pop down the tank without having to expose post-baby stomach.
Other than that, it's kind of personal preference. I never used lanolin or nursing pads, despite buying a ton. I leaked for the first two weeks and then never again. And I ended up liking a throw pillow better than any of the big nursing pillows.
Good luck! The book "Work. Pump. Repeat" is a fun informative read for those of us who like to be over-prepared ;)
Not related to this specific pump but the postpartum nurse at my birth/childcare/breastfeeding/all the things class said to buy a hands free pumping bra like this guy - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00295MQLU/ref=cm_sw_r_oth_api_7MTeAbVQEZMCY
She also mentioned to bring it to the hospital, not sure if that’s a thing you need to do but thought I would pass the info along. I’m thinking about the S2 as well.
Not so much to comment on the one side but more your mention of a free hand. I use this (sorry for the crappy link formatting): Simple Wishes Hands-Free Breastpump Bra, Pink, X-Small-Large https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00295MQLU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_byB3xb2GRK7WF
It works really well and I feel like one of those stock photo moms pumping and using my laptop at the same time.
I love my Spectra -- well as much as one can love a machine that sucks your nipples. I started pumping in the hospital with a Medela Symphony, and I get so much more milk with the Spectra.
I exclusively pumped for several weeks while LO was getting the hang of latching, so here are some tips:
I'd recommend getting a power invertor so you can pump in the car if you ever need to. I have this one from Amazon and it works great.
Prepare a "pump bag" to hold all your supplies -- hands-free bra (I have the Simple Wishes bra), pump, storage bags and bottles, permanent marker to label storage bags, a little container of olive oil to lube up my flanges (helps to prevent rubbing), small kitchen rags to wipe up milk, extra pump parts, etc. I use an LL Bean tote bag to transport everything.
In between pumps, I store all my pump parts in a gallon ziploc bag and stick it in the fridge so I don't have to wash them after every pump.
Have to use a pumping bra or hold it. This one is great and you can Velcro adjust the size to whatever size you need for it. Stick the breast shields in and then you are hands free.

Yeah man, totally relevant.
On top of that is the fact that computer monitors were "HD" long before the term existed, but as soon as it entered the collective consciousness it started being plastered all over everything, even though in many cases it was a step down.
Still not as stupid as these.
A lot of tempered glass screen protectors offer "Anti-glare" protection. But unfortunately they really only work on indoor lighting.
I dont think anyone has come up with a proper Anti-sun glare protection. The only really options here are find shade, try anti-glare sun glasses, or find someone who will apply a Anti-reflective coating to a glass screen protector.
Without reading the post description, it made me want to see this game's graphics in high definition.

For bauhaus watches you might want to look at mondaine or braun.

At that price I would go with a Seiko SNZH55. The Amazon picture kind of sucks, but if you do an image search you'll find some much better pictures. Spend the left over cash on a Hirsch Liberty strap. You'll have something that looks like this.
Looking to get a watch with some Christmas money, but am pretty overwhelmed by all the choices. Probably leaning towards a silver-band with a black face, in the <$200 (could stretch a little) price range. Currently looking at:
1
2
3
Looking for any general advice or other suggestions
Not too much over $100 on amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/Seiko-SNZH55-Automatic-Black-Stainless/dp/B0045D6570/ref=pd_sim_241_26?ie=UTF8&dpID=41skNC5-9uL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=105BYXM64308VVKXVCBJ
Depending on what you're looking for in a watch (basically as long as you don't mean a dress watch), there are good looking watches that don't cost $100. The Timex Weekender, for example, is a favorite of Reddit's fashion communities.
Total cost (in USD):
= US$34.70 ~ approximately RM114.56
Shipping to Malaysia is generally about twice as expensive as Singapore, so you can consider asking for a quote from cheaper forwarders like vPost, Borderlinx and some other guys operating out of Lowyat.net, or set up a mass-order to save shipping too.
Here's one that's been much recommended over at r/MFA.
Timex Weekender
Durable watch at a reasonable price.
Timex Weekender, Olive strap
I should mention that you can find the Timex Weekender on Amazon for about $10 cheaper right now:
http://www.amazon.com/Timex-T2N651KW-Weekender-Olive-Through/dp/B004VR9HP2/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1322620004&sr=1-1-catcorr
If you go month to month, it costs $30. I think you'd get a much, much better bang for your buck buying a Timex Weekender on Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/Timex-Unisex-T2N651-Weekender-Slip-Thru/dp/B004VR9HP2/ref=sr_1_1?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1494987412&sr=1-1&nodeID=7141123011&psd=1&keywords=timex+weekender
If that's not your style, and you're really, truly not sure what you want, doing watchgang for a single month is probably not the very worst thing in the world. You definitely won't be getting a $30 watch. In honesty, I would be quite surprised if you got a $10 watch.
But if you're ok with the fact that you're paying a fee to someone to send you a random watch they sourced for as cheap as they possibly could as a way of helping to refine your style, then that's cool. There's worse uses of money out there.
I’d go for a Timex Weekender: Timex Unisex T2N651 Weekender Olive Nylon Slip-Thru Strap Watch https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004VR9HP2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_.9dBCbFWQC808
Comes in a ton of colors ranging from $30-50.
Timex Weekender Unisex 38mm on Amazon for less than $40.
Timex Unisex T2N651 Weekender Olive Nylon Slip-Thru Strap Watch https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004VR9HP2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_X0-OBbMXAX44X
If you just want something that's relatively minimal, even a Timex will be fine for you. You can always switch out the strap for something more formal, like leather or metal - I wear a Timex Weekender with a leather strap most days at work.
If you're interested in delving more deeply r/watches is a good resource, although their tastes skew expensive. There's a style summary that can give you some ideas about styles and brands to search for. If you want super minimalist stuff, I'd look into Bauhaus styles (which is where my preferences are), but those tend to be more formal looking.
Here are a few:
Tisell Flieger 40mm x 9.5mm $199
Messerschmitt ME262S 38.5mm x 9mm $130
Citizen BI1050-05X 40mm x 8mm $85
Citizen BM8180-03E 37mm x 9mm $85
Seiko SNE045 37mm x 10mm $125
Timex Weekender 38mm x 9mm $30
>it needs to have probably a plastic (barf) band, because of all the oil/gas/grease that it will undoubtedly be subjected to.
Oil degrades plastic. He'd probably be best off with a nylon band. You're also really not going to get anything too "rugged," since we're in the laughably cheap price range.
I'd recommend this guy
At that price you can also get a Seiko automatic:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Seiko-SNK789K-Silver-Stainless-Steel-Automatic/dp/B0018N0HL0/ref=sr_1_10?s=watch&ie=UTF8&qid=1347108024&sr=1-10
Or even a low-end Seiko Kinetic:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Seiko-SKA475P1-Stainless-Kinetic-Bracelet/dp/B0047E12O8/ref=sr_1_1?s=watch&ie=UTF8&qid=1347108050&sr=1-1
Personally I'd go for the Kinetic; no battery changes and the accuracy of quartz.
I recently bought this Seiko Sea Urchin. Since I can't afford a Rolex Submariner, this will do.
What do you think about the Seiko 5? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001IBF15Y/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_nEyFxb92R1Q98 really solid watch and keeps time great, just doesn't stay wound that long. It won't be a problem if you wear it everyday.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Seiko-Mens-Automatic-Watch-SNZF17K1/dp/B001IBF15Y/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1420983610&sr=8-3&keywords=seiko+divers+watch
seiko 5 sports
or you could stretch a littke and get a sk007 on amazon for around £160
Well, with that in mind, check out this, this, and this. You could probably put a green bezel diver together for less than 175 if you look around at used SKX007s. If functionality isn't important, the Sea Urchin runs around $130 (or a hair more with Prime 2 day shipping), couple that with the last bezel and you'd be at a little over $150.
Yobokies also has some green bezels. If you hunt around his site I'm sure you can find more.
What about a Seiko "Sea Urchin" SNZF17 ?
For about the same price, I'd rather have a Seiko or Orient. I don't know much about watches, but I get the sense that Invicta has a somewhat negative reputation among those who do (i.e., the folks on /r/watches).
Sure. The Japanese are kings of value at that price point, and you'll have a fair share of selections from a few brands, types of movement (automatic/mechanicals, quartz, UHF quartz, solar quartz, etc.) and styles (diver, field, pilot, chrono, etc.) all good for day-to-day wear.
A good place to start is look through listings from Seiko, Orient, Citizen, and Casio's Edifice line.
A few examples:
Seiko SNZG13 - automatic field/military style
Orient Defender - automatic field style - also comes in blue
Seiko SNZF17(black) / SNZF15(blue/pepsi bezel) - automatic diver style
Seiko SNZH55/53/57 - automatic black, blue, and black/gold diver style
Various Seiko chronographs on bracelets - quartz movements
Orient Mako II and Ray II - automatic diver style watches with an upgraded movement over the Seiko automatics
Various Casio Edifice chronographs on bracelets - quartz movements
There's a lot more not limited to these brands as well - I'm sure other people can recommend you something nice. I've excluded models not on a bracelet - but if you change your mind you can also look through Citizen and Bulova's offerings.
Here's the current buying guide on $0-$250 watches.
If you really like the MVMT, just buy it, but do so knowing what you're actually getting. The particular model you linked has a chronograph but doesn't even have markings on the subdials, so the chronograph is kinda pointless - how can you tell which dial is which?
I recently went to a Rolex AD and I just love the look of the Submariner. I don't have enough money to get one atm, but I found this Seiko that looks very similar, so I bought it for about $140 on Amazon. I'm very happy that I bought it, the build quality feels great and it looks amazing. People are definitely right when they say that pictures don't do this watch a justice (my phone's camera doesn't help) because in person it is beautiful. I've had my SNZG15 for a while now, and I have no doubt that this Sea Urchin will serve me well.
If your cup size is small, try Nippies. I also have a wide rib cage with small breasts and bra fitting is very challenging. I don’t need a bra for support, just to keep my nipples from poking through my shirt. Nippies take care of that. I LOVE not having a band around my chest.
I wear nippies on my braless days. https://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-NippleCovers-Nippies-Adhesive-Pasties/dp/B001PU9A9Q
Love them so far.
I have a few bralettes and sports bras I cycle through, I feel like alternating styles helps, but maybe I just haven’t found the right one.
I have [these] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001PU9A9Q?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00) in both sizes. The larger one is thicker in the middle than the smaller ones but the larger ones are quite large in relation to my boob! They work reasonably well but there is still a small bump.
You mention holding the pumps - have you tried using a pumping bra? Like this one https://www.amazon.com/Simple-Wishes-Hands-Free-Breastpump-X-Small-Large/dp/B00295MQLU
I'm using the Medela Pump in Style and love it. I also got their personal fit shields for pumping because I couldn't get anything out with the regular sized ones. I've even used it in the car on road trips with the battery option so we didn't have to stop for 40 minutes every three hours so I could breastfeed. I use a hands free pump bra too.
You can use other bottles with the Medela pump. When my son was swallowing too much air with the Medela bottles and nipples we got Dr. Brown bottles and I pump directly into those. Most bottles have the same threads on them so you can screw them onto the pump.
I loved this one https://www.amazon.com/Simple-Wishes-Signature-Pumping-XS-Large/dp/B00295MQLU?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00295MQLU&pd_rd_r=2RMB5H1JWEQAG9GH5BK1&pd_rd_w=llzKH&pd_rd_wg=hk1WU&psc=1
Not the most delicate thing but great for my size D’s
Ok so there’s this nursing bra hack that works in a pinch, I’ve also heard about cutting holes in a sports bra. I’ve bought this bra from amazon and it’s pretty good. I want to buy the kindred bravely nursing/pump bra when I go back to work though.
I bought this one http://www.amazon.com/Simple-Wishes-Hands-Free-Breastpump-XS-L/dp/B00295MQLU it is basically one size fits all. It was super easy to put on. Size adjusts by a really sturdy velcro then I could just leave it velcro to my size and take it on and off by a zipper on the front. It has 4.5 stars on Amazon.
I use the Medela Pump in Style Advance (free through my insurance). Are you going to be pumping due to a return to work? The version my insurance provided doesn't include the extras that came with the PISA when my sister purchased hers in 2011 (prior to Obamacare), like the backpack, the battery pack, the cooler bag, and freezer pack. My sister gave me hers, so I use all of these things and would recommend purchasing them or something like them if you will be pumping at work.
I also recommend a Simple Wishes hands free pumping bra. My lactation consultant recommended watching this video to learn tips about maximizing production: http://newborns.stanford.edu/Breastfeeding/MaxProduction.html, and I use these techniques throughout my pumping sessions every day.
I pump twice a day at work - at 10am and 2pm - for 20 minutes each time, not including set up and take down time. I keep my milky pump parts in a gallon ziplock bag in a mini fridge (that I bought on sale at Best Buy for $99) behind my desk after the morning pump session. Since they are refrigerated, I don't have to go rinse or wash them in the communal office kitchen sink between pumping sessions. I take them home every night and wash in hot, soapy water, and then I sterilize them in the Medela sterilizing bags in the microwave. I let them dry overnight on the Boon grass lawn drying racks. I have multiple sets of pump parts and bottles because sometimes they don't fully dry overnight. I also wash and reuse the ziplocks, but I plan on replacing them with PlanetWise clear storage bags (which are top rack dishwasher safe) to reduce waste. I keep one complete set of extra pump parts and bottles in my desk at work just in case I forget something - it's already saved me once!
To stimulate let down at work, I bring a slightly used burp cloth that smells like baby (smell is one of your strongest senses!), I watch videos or look at pictures of baby, and it sounds weird, but I close my eyes and visualize my hungry baby. The visualization plus the smell of the burp cloth does it almost every time.
Please let me know if you have any more specific questions!
ETA: My daughter was 20 weeks when I went back to work and she only took 5-8oz the first week at daycare, but I think that was just her adjusting to the transition. Now she takes between 10-14oz on average. I usually pump about 12-13oz. I built up a small freezer stash before going back to work just in case she outpaces me.
Simple Wishes Hands-Free Pumping Bra
After I did a bunch of research and talked to other full time working Mamas, I ended up with the Medela Freestyle- I love it. It's a double pump electric and a rechargeable battery. So, just my $.02.
But, other advice, seriously La Leche saved me as well, I went to a few meetings before hand and when I had some problems, I had numbers to call and helping voices to guide me through.
The other thing I HIGHLY recommend is getting a hands-free bustier. I got this one (http://www.amazon.com/Simple-Wishes-Hands-Free-Breastpump-XS/dp/B00295MQLU) and love it. I can work on the computer, walk around my office, whatever while pumping. And, you can just use it over your nursing bra, so you don't even have to get naked in the office. Worth it. Good luck!
You can buy hands free pumping bras (or modify one of your own bras) to hold the flanges in place.
This is the one that I've used in the past -> http://www.amazon.com/Simple-Wishes-Hands-Free-Breastpump-X-Small-Large/dp/B00295MQLU/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1452609659&sr=8-3&keywords=pumping+bra
I always fed for about 15-20 minutes on one breast and then swapped him to the other and fed for another 10-15 minutes, then pumped both. I found if I didn't, I tended to get uncomfortable and leaky before he was hungry again.
Also, originally I thought it was a waste of money, as they're not cheap, but a good hands free pumping bra is a blessing. It lets you actually do things while you pump, even if 'things' is just play a game on your phone or eat lunch, otherwise you're stuck there holding the flanges on your boobs, which is a pain. I kind of felt like a cow in a milking bay, but the extra 15 minutes I had to do things was so useful I dealt with it. :)
I liked this one from Amazon. I think like most parenting, it's trial and error and trying to work out what works best for you and your baby. There are very few 'right' answers. :)
I haven't went back to work yet. However I would recommend trying to start a stash asap. I had one. He had about a 4 day period where he decided he didn't want to latch and I ended up using the stash along with some formula till he decided he wanted the breast again. Also get one of the hands free breast pump bras. http://www.amazon.com/Simple-Wishes-Hands-Free-Breastpump-XS-L/dp/B00295MQLU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1376553134&sr=8-1&keywords=nursing+pump+bra
purchase a hands free pumping bra (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00295MQLU) i feel like all breast pumps should come with one, but they don't and it's a must have.
if it's a possibility that someone might bust in on you while you are pumping, get a nursing cover too. i got one as a hand me down and i don't think ill use it while nursing but it would come in handy while pumping.
I always need something to hold them on. Especially if the bottles get kind of full and heavy. Sometimes shoving them in my bra works, sometimes not. This is my favorite style: Simple Wishes Signature Hands Free Pumping Bra, Patented, Pink, XS-Large https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00295MQLU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_isiYCbTN4AGSQ
This one is a good style too: LactaMed Simplicity Hands Free Bra Kit - Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JAO6TT8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_yuiYCb4EXTT9V
This one didn't work as well for me when the bottles got heavy: BRAVADO! DESIGNS Women's Maternity Clip and Pump Hands-Free Nursing Bra Accessory, Dove Heather https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NCO9OY8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_duiYCbCP16VSQ
Also cutting holes in a sports bra works, especially if you need one now but it was a pain to get on/off, and I pump multiple times a day, every day, so I got a dedicated pump bra.
The best thing I did was get a hands free pumPing bra. I use this one http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00295MQLU?pc_redir=1395426222&robot_redir=1 and I'm pumping right now. It's still awkward to hold him but not impossible like it would be otherwise.
working moms love it!
Seconding this. Also invest in a hands-free pumping bra (I have this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00295MQLU). You'll express more when pumping both breasts at the same time than you would if you pumped each breast individually. Plus, what's the point of shelling out for a double pump if you can't us it to double pump?
I also exclusively pump. I do both sides at the same time, because when I was breastfeeding he would eat off both sides each time. I make sure to pump every time my LO gets a bottle. I find that a pumping bra (such as this one) is useful for letting me multitask when pumping. I use a boppy pillow to prop my LO up after feeding (once he was a few weeks old) so he can be next to me while I pump. I can interact with him and make sure he’s happy. He’s not a fan of lying flat on his back.
Feel free to message me if you have any questions!
I bought it from Amazon.

[Here ya go](Optima Unisex 33-190 Black Twenty-Watch Case with Zipper https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002CVUODS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_X2N8ybZRSXGKR)! I'm truly hoping that the issue with discoloring sport bands is a one in a million thing, and it doesn't happen to me. If it does, there aren't a ton of other options out there. /=
Yep I just order it also, I need something to protect my new link bracelet.
Canadian amazon link - https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B002CVUODS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Some bands like Milanese from Apple I put in the original plastic box when I don't use it.
For the rest, I have some watch band boxes made of cardboard (come with some of the bands) and I store the rest there.

I'm testing the case for colour bleed as one poster has mentioned, though I don't see how it's possible when dry. Maybe the person reporting colour bleed lives in a humid air environment?
Well for now i am just keeping them all in my tiny clockwork synergy box but i am defiantly getting this soon. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002CVUODS?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
It's not exactly what i wanted because i would like to display them but for storage i hear it is great!
Means it looks amazing when you look at it with HD Sunglasses, for the first time you can see the world in true High Definition!
Apparently, Amazon already sells HD Glasses
They should get
http://www.amazon.com/HD-Vision-Sunglasses-Ultra/dp/B002V04OKO
And now you can see the whole WORLD that way.
Sounds similar to the 'As seen on TV' HD sunglasses- http://www.amazon.com/CCS-G-HDULTRAB-1-Vision-Sunglasses-Ultra/dp/B002V04OKO
I went with this one, it was on sale for $138 and just couldn't pass it up. I feel you, saving might have been better but I think the 5 is worth it.
Classy combo man. REALLY want this watch, but its small size puts me off. I have some big ol wrists (wearing 44mm currently and it fits fine) so the 38mm is a downer. but love the cream/tan strap combo.
as for another watch, I'd check out Orient or Seiko for Sub $200 divers.
Orient Mako
Orient Ray
Seiko 5 SNZH55
Seiko SKX line is a classic as well.
I'd probably stick to those unless you want a quartz diver (Seiko has some nice solar quartz divers). all come in a variety of colors too. I'd probably stick to the rubber strap version if you can find them as the metal bracelets aren't the best on any of them and are prone to bending spring bars (I rarely wear my mako's bracelet and have already bent 2 bars) save the cash and buy a strap of some sort.
how about a SNZH55. Comes on a bracelet but it can be dressed down on a nice brown leather strap like this for a younger look
Hi all. I'm looking into purchasing a new watch with a budget of about $250. I want to get something a little dressier, as most of what I have tends to be more "sport" looking.
I understand Seiko fits some of these requirements, but I just don't love how they look. I was considering this https://www.amazon.com/Citizen-Eco-Drive-Quartz-Stainless-Leather/dp/B079995GSP
It is somewhat between sport and dress, and I love the silver face.
If possible, I'd like something solar powered. I have big wrists so anything less than 40mm looks tiny on my arm.
Thanks!
Edit: I take back what I said about Seiko and I'm considering this boi https://www.amazon.com/Seiko-SNZH55-Automatic-Black-Stainless/dp/B0045D6570/ref=pd_sbs_241_42?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B0045D6570&pd_rd_r=0fe56069-b6d5-11e8-b96a-75051c3f57a5&pd_rd_w=5FeUn&pd_rd_wg=C4sYy&pf_rd_i=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_p=8017971983328801850&pf_rd_r=F7H19SASNW0D43Y3ES1R&pf_rd_s=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_t=40701&psc=1&refRID=F7H19SASNW0D43Y3ES1R
I bought this watch after looking through the Buying Guide thread. Someone mentioned the SEIKO 5 SNZH55 and in that comment the Fifty Five fathoms mod was mentioned. Intrigued, I looked it up and the original watch by Blancpain and was blown away. This is the second watch in my collection (My first being a Tissot Visodate), and I love this very much.
I'm very new to watches but spend waaaay too much time on this sub. I am no where near delicate enough to mod a watch on my own, so I bought this one modded off of eBay.
I've ordered a Brady Strap with Gold stitching to replace the original band with. Loving this watch so far.
Here are some suggestions:
Seiko SNZH55
Steinhart Ocean 1 Black
Citizen Eco Drive There are a billion models of these, I just picked one.
Tissot PRS-516
Those should get you started.
Non-mobile: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0045D6570/ref=pd_aw_sim_watch_2?refRID=15BCCMKKSJ3571HP02GN
^That's ^why ^I'm ^here, ^I ^don't ^judge ^you. ^PM ^/u/xl0 ^if ^I'm ^causing ^any ^trouble. ^WUT?
This is probably the wrong sub for this. Try /r/watches. It's also a really large topic.
You can spend as much or as little on watches as you want. /r/watches has some recommendations for all budgets.
Some examples:
Sports watches tend to work well casually and in business causal environments and in part explains the popularity of grails such as a Rolex Submariner or cheaper versions like an Omega Seamaster or Speedmaster.
I'd highly advise you to do some research and figure out what exactly you want and how much you really want to spend here.
Personally I'd stay away from the Android wearables and similar but YMMV. On /r/watches you'll likely find many traditionalists who feel the same way. In some ways the desire to even have a watch partways makes you a traditionalist.
The best outfit to go with a pair of Golden Fox Chukkas. We'll start from the ground up.
Socks: Chukkas for me are a great boot to wear in the spring/summer/fall. Nice and light, less insulation than a typical winter boot. One of my favorite parts about the summer is baseball, so a pair of socks like this should be a given.
Pants: Again, let's keep it nice and light. A pair of J. Crew 484 chinos in Navy sounds like a good plan since they match the chukkas in formality and I absolutely love the classic combination of a navy and tan.
Shirt: I've always been a huge fan of chambrays, especially in red. Again, fits in well with the summery vibe.
Accessories: Gotta go with the classic Timex Weekender. The nylon strap on these just look too good, and the watch doesn't even break the bank either. As for a belt, I'd go with a DIY belt with matching leather to the Golden Fox chukka for a personal touch.
EDIT: I wanted to enter the other contest because I am a goofball. I'll expect my commission checks every two weeks when these become Amazon best sellers.
Just a short question about watches: Should I prefer buying a watch with much steel? for exmpl :
http://www.amazon.com/Seiko-SNK793-Automatic-Stainless-Steel/dp/B002SSUQF6/ref=sr_1_1?s=watches&ie=UTF8&qid=1291776001&sr=1-1

Or those ones?
http://www.amazon.de/Seiko-SNK805-SNK805K2-Uhr/dp/B000LTAY1U/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1396218096&sr=8-3&keywords=seiko+5
http://www.amazon.de/Timex-Classic-Unisex-Armbanduhr-Weekender-Analog/dp/B004VR9HP2/ref=sr_1_29?s=watch&ie=UTF8&qid=1396218183&sr=1-29&keywords=timex
It feels like the one with steels doesnt fit to me because they feel much more "heavier" and the one without feels very "light".
This Timex is awesome!
I like the weekender a lot, but I'd suggest the white face with olive band.
http://www.amazon.com/Timex-T2N651KW-Weekender-Olive-Through/dp/B004VR9HP2/ref=sr_1_2?s=watches&ie=UTF8&qid=1324588816&sr=1-2
I think my next one will be the SKA581 w/ a brown strap, and then I want a IWC portuguese homage. Either this or this (opinions please!)
Links and descriptions for my current collection:
Top left. My first watch. The black strap is cheap that came with it. I use this black NATO or the james bond grey one (on the nautica)
Top middle. Newest item to the collection, was a graduation present for myself. Added the strap. I also have a red white blue one for holidays.
Bottom Left. The famous timex weekender. Want to know a secret? I hate it. Too loud, and I just don't like how it looks. But it always ranks in the most bang for its buck under $50 so I bought it.
Bottom Middle. Christmas present. Still deciding.
Bottom Right. DW alternative I found on Cultural Dispatch's "time on a budget" blog. Goes well with any strap.
I'm assuming you're referring to these? $95 is a lot for a watch with a quartz movement considering how cheap they are to make. You could get 3 Timex Weekenders and give two of them away for the same price.
Someone just submitted this project 30 min before you... i think you're just selling an Ad here...
but how is this different or better than a Timex?
simple design for $30 or this one
or a nicer one for $45
Timex is really on-trend right now. They're small, ultra-cheap, and of fairly high quality.
It’s the Timex Weekender 38mm. I bought mine on Amazon .
http://www.amazon.com/Timex-Unisex-T2N651-Weekender-Watch/dp/B004VR9HP2
Perfect minimalist watch imo.
And you can buy a leather strap separately for it (which I did).
https://www.amazon.com/Timex-Unisex-T2N651-Weekender-Slip-Thru/dp/B004VR9HP2/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=timex+weekender&qid=1567406046&s=gateway&sr=8-3
I own one, and it's the gateway drug to watch collecting. It's a good, cheap, starter watch - but you'll probably end up getting something more expensive if you really like it.
Pros: it's a good quality, good looking, dirt-cheap (for $30 on Amazon, you can't go wrong.) "basic" field watch, NATO straps are cheap and come in dozens of colours/patterns, the quartz movement is extremely accurate, the battery life is good (haven't changed mine and I've had it for a year), the mineral crystal won't scratch easy so it's a good beater, and if you press the crown the face glows green for night reading (their "indiglo" feature).
Cons: it's simple, there are no complications like date/day, it is loud, it only has a water resistance of 3 ATM (so just splashes), and (I could be wrong) but I don't think it has spring pins on the lugs so you're stuck with NATO straps. Also, if you get right into your watches, you might want a mechanical over a quartz (even though they're more of a hassle, they're just somehow cooler - the Seiko 5s mentioned are automatics). Personally, I don't love the polished case either - I prefer a more subtle brushed steel look. If you do get one, be aware you can get them with a white or black face. The watch is 38mil in diameter, too, which is about the smallest you can get for a men's watch - so be aware if you have a big wrist it might look small.
This is a great alternative if you want a mechanical watch, but it's a little more expensive - but still great value.
I love the fact that for the amount of money that Marty supposedly has, he wears a $30 Timex Weekender watch. It actually says a lot about his character - he's not in it for the money, he's in it cause he cares so deeply for his brother. Check out the watch here:
https://www.amazon.com/Timex-Unisex-T2N651-Weekender-Slip-Thru/dp/B004VR9HP2 http://i.imgur.com/qJkfJ5s.jpg
I'm gonna just throw a bunch of stuff here, maybe one of these will be what you're looking for:
For the Quartz, I recommend something kinda fun, but still minimalist like you mentioned.
Elliot Havok a newer brand, but I hear good things. I looked at their return policy, you can return it unused if you don't like the looks of it. If I were looking for a quartz watch, this would be at the top of my list (I have way too many watches at the moment)
Breda makes
a nice quartz. I've seen one on person. They are not super slick, but also very reasonably priced. Again, return it if you're not loving it. But, no date function.
Sasqwatch again, no date function, but a nice sub-$100 watch.
Nixon makes a ton of watches. These are what people call "fashion watches" but still, tons of styles.
Again, no date, but Kimono you cannot beat the quality/price ratio.
[Timex Expedition](Timex Unisex T2N651 Weekender Olive Nylon Slip-Thru Strap Watch https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004VR9HP2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_5v0JzbTJHHK0Q) you can knock this thing around and it'll keep going.
Skagen makes a great watch.
OK, tapped out on quartz. Give me time to type out a couple of affordable automatic options.
A lot of people seem to praise the Timex Weekender. But it honestly kind of poor in quality, is there something I'm not seeing?
I got this one with a black strap. And they tossed in a navy blue strap with a lighter blue stripe down the middle. http://www.amazon.com/Timex-T2N651KW-Weekender-Olive-Through/dp/B004VR9HP2/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1341258651&sr=8-3&keywords=weekender
For that money, just get something like this Timex and put something like this Stainless on it. You're at $54ish dollars on the wrist and you can put the $60 you saved into a watch fund.
The Timex Weekender is a NATO strap watch, meaning the strap can be easily switched. This leads to more versatility in color, but you can always just stick a leather NATO on it. The Seiko SNK809 is a mechanical NATO option. You can buy NATO straps from places like www.cheapestnatostraps.com (built by an MFA member IIRC). Both of those watches are casual and about as budget as you can get.
I picked up a Timex Weekender at Target one day as I was strolling though, it's sort of my go-to watch that I dont worry about. I think it was $30. And the straps you can get for it are cool :)
A Timex Weekender is casual enough for everyday, inexpensive too.
Also, the Nato strap can be changed very easily, allowing for multiple styles without having to buy a second watch.
I don't know what a hipster style watch means, can you give examples?
I'm a huge fan or Timex watches because I really like the clean aesthetic and size. They make a Thru Nylon Strap watch that might protect you from your nickel allergy. Although, I have a very mild nickel allergy and I wear their leather strapped watches without trouble.
Watch facts: Ladies watches have smaller faces than the unisex watches. Most watch bands are interchangeable.
I have to pay about 46€ for the very same watch on Amazon.de. That's about $60 or 300%. Come fucking on
The strap is Olive colored, the face is off white. I'm actually wearing it right now I love it. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004VR9HP2?pc_redir=1411972920&robot_redir=1
Timex Weekender, green strap. They just removed the logo for the show it looks like. Same numbers, etc.
Sorry - Yes. It is a Timex Weekender.
If you like the timex, go for it. However most people seem to think that particular model is overpriced. Have you looked this?
The style of watch is called 'field'. Hamilton makes several that are of high quality.
UGGs Neumals
Tapered American Eagle Slim Straights
Polo Ralph Lauren Thermal
H&M Jacket
Timex Weekender
I'm gonna second the Timex Weekender with a leather strap. I think it's pretty plain/simple looking and it's definitely not that large or expensive. Here's a picture that I just took of it, maybe this is what you're looking for.
I think that the reason you are not getting feedback is because your post isn't as concise as it could be; additionally, most people like to look at a picture or two and then reply with a short thought. Remove extraneous information next time (your measurements / details on clothes) and perhaps elaborate on what your job is.
That being said, I'm guessing you've already made your way through the sidebar so I'll try not to rehash too much information.
My thoughts (mostly personal preference/opinion, take it as you like):
How I'd spend $500:

I hear you on the necessity to invest in a good running bra! A few years ago, I decided to get the one that Oprah always recommends and it is THE BEST. In case anyone is looking for suggestions: http://www.amazon.com/Panache-Womens-Underwired-Sports-Bra/dp/B005X5FG2O/
It's hard when I don't live somewhere where I can try sizes like that on. I'd prefer to just keep ordering sizes like the ones I can try on that fit reasonably.
Right now I'm looking at this one by Panache, but it's such a pain to order it and send it back if it doesn't fit. And a disappointment, like this Shock Absorber was.
I have two of these and they're literally the best things ever. Unfortunately I'm shrinking out and they're hella expensive.
The Panache underwired sports bra: http://www.amazon.com/Panache-Womens-Underwired-Sports-Bra/dp/B005X5FG2O
I am a 30JJ and love Love LOVE this sports bra. The band is nice and firm, and the wires are very well padded and don't hurt or dig. I also love that it has a hook to convert the bra from normal to racerback straps (I find I need the extra holding power of converting to racerback after a while on a run!)
Have fun getting back into the gym! I'm just getting back into after the holidays too and it feels great to be sore (good sore!) after a workout!
Panache Sport comes in an ever-changing array of colors and patterns. The "boob-armor" style might not suit you, but you'll probably find a color that does.
Other options:
Freya (both Panache and Freya have more styles than just the one underwire version))
Shock Absorber (also look for different styles from them, and check out UK retailers for even more options than are available in the US)
I personally like the Panache Sport. I got it in my normal size (32FF) and it works great. First time I haven't had to wear two sports bras while jogging.
Do you want a completely yellow sports bra? Panache has a great sports bra that comes in actual bra sizes, and the geo print has some yellow in it, but not an overwhelming amount. It's also just a fabulous sports bra in general, I highly recommend it.
The coral colorway (it's called Print Multi on amazon for whatever reason) has a nice bright but not neon yellow edging to it.

I would absolutely LOVE it if I got a gift card. I am saving up for a steam mop so I can clean my apartment. My cat has had some really bad tummy issues, causing him to have a lot of fecal accidents =( Needless to say, my wood floors need a regular cleaning and the mop would be wonderful to have. Thanks for the amazing contest!

Do you think I should just opt for this Weekender instead? For some reason I just can't get 100% on board with the nylon strap. But if the quality is superior to the pleather easy reader straps then I'd consider getting that. Sorry for my ignorance. This is my first time purchasing a watch of any kind so I'm just looking for something versatile and simple.
Timex Weekender, from Amazon at this link. Thanks!
Big Skinny Metro Wallet ($24.95)
Timex Weekender ($24.42)
Victorinox Cadet ($31.99)
ThruNite Ti3 ($13.95)
Pilot G2 Pens ($3.83)
Total: $99.14
I didn't consider tax here, though.
Hard mode should be using Canadian retailers and Canadian dollars. I just used American Amazon here.
This one... i swapped out the cream stripe band for a white stripe.
For watches, I've owned smart watches (pebble and a moto 360) and own many analog watches. I prefer analog to a fitness or smart watch any day of the week if your primary purpose is to have a watch on your wrist (and not an extension of your smart phone).
For watches, I have 3 recommendations, all under $100:
s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1464118386&sr=1-1&nodeID=6358539011&keywords=timex+weekender)
Watches are extremely personal. The colour of dial, bezel, and strap can be endlessly customized. Gold tones are very popular right now though a black strap/silver or white dial will always be a classic.
Another thing to consider is the size of the bezel. You'll want to pick the right size of watch depending on your wrist size.
Definitely a weekender, looks like this one here
So, both of the watches you linked are described as "fashion brand" watches. This means that a popular clothing company has taken a pre-existing quartz movement (usually) then put it into a casing of their choosing and branded it. These watches generally won't break, but they are usually poorer quality than watches made by genuine watch brands at approximately the same price point.
Timex is a good starting point for watches. They look good, hold up well, and generally have very few issues. They're also fairly inexpensive. They typically use quartz movements. Quartz movements use circuit boards and batteries to operate the watch. They're accurate, but the cheapest method for creating a watch.
The second primary method for a operating a watch is automatic movements. These can either be hand-wound by the dial on the side of the watch, or they use a small weight in the watch to automatically (see: name) wind the watch as you move. As your arm moves, the weight spins around and winds up the watch. Automatic watches are more expensive generally, but usually also higher quality.
A good brand for automatic starter watches is Orient. They have a number of offerings in the ~$100-$150 price range that are very very good quality for the money you're paying.
Here are some specific recommendations for watches that are a great bang-for-buck ratio:
Generally speaking, most watches from Timex, Seiko, and Orient are all great, quality starter watches. I personally own an Orient Mako II in pepsi, which I love. Feel free to PM or check out /r/watches for more information.
I would definitely look at Timex or Casio, then. A popular choice is the Timex Weekender, and you can get them with a 1-piece leather strap like this that can be swapped out with a host of other colors and options in seconds. I have and love this watch, but the one criticism is a very, very loud tick. Wait for sales to get it cheaper, and stock up on various bands and enjoy!
This is a similar version to your original but it's $30

I think that whatever you pick your boys will be very excited. Also, congratulations!!!!!
I have a timex weekender watch and I'm hoping to get another timepiece that fits the same nato strap that I already have, but with a DATE INDICATOR. I don't know the technical term for this feature and I'm having a devil of a time tracking something like this down? Any help or suggestions appreciated. My strap is approx 2cm/3/4" wide.
this is my watch

Looks like it jumped up to $60, crazy!
Want to purchase a watch and I've decided on the Timex Easy Reader. I can't decide which strap would be more versatile/work better. For reference, I currently own dark brown suede Sperry Topsiders and plan on purchasing the Eastland Yarmouth Camp Moc.
Dark brown: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003QFZZRO/ref=s9_psimh_gw_p241_d13_i2?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=1MBQ0KF6W5ZWYW2ZSZY4&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1688200382&pf_rd_i=507846
Light Brown: http://www.amazon.com/Timex-T20011-Reader-Brown-Leather/dp/B0000TII00/ref=pd_sbs_watch_3?ie=UTF8&refRID=1JHDPS08CJ19078FVBRE
Camp Moc (any advice on fit? I wear size 12 sneaker but probably get 11.5): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001HTABMA/ref=gno_cart_title_0?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
That's perfectly fine - besides, there is no need to put out a lot on a watch before you know what you like. Here are some suggestions, if they aren't your style, let me know what you prefer.
Also, remember that with watches like the Easy Readers you can switch out the straps and really change the look of the watch.
As for your aviators, you can pick up some knock-off Aviators for cheaper, but in my opinion, sunglasses are something that are worth the $100 or so for a decent pair. In part because of quality, but mostly because you want a relatively decent lens that gives you protection from UV light.

Is this what you are looking for?
My first impression is that it reminds me of fishing watches - and this is largely because of that suede brown band with a visible logo.
The entire watch has a very rugged look and the face itself is not as classic and simplistic as the weekender or easy-reader. So if you're going for a more day-to-day casual watch I'd definitely recommend the other two.
As for choosing between the weekender and easy-reader: the easy-reader is 3mm smaller in diameter and has a less cluttered face than the weekender. I'd say this version with the brown leather strap is a good bet.
Hope that helps.
Watches under $70:
This one
Yeah, this was my first watch as well and it seems to go well with almost anything I wear.I wear mostly plain t-shirts, flannels, sweaters with jeans or shorts and chucks so I look like a pretty normal teenager.
Not to mention how cheap it is.

Welcome to the club.
nah, that would probably look tacky going with the style of the picture,
take a look at this post http://www.reddit.com/r/malefashionadvice/comments/jdzbj/having_fun_with_watch_straps/
the watch is clean and simple and you can get it for 27 $

Thanks for the detailed reply! I don't know that I could easily get down to 200. I'm a bit more muscular than the average guy. That said, I'd like to get down to 220. Less weight makes rock climbing easier.
I don't know how I feel about the Clarks. I think I'd feel weird wearing them. I kinda like the look of these. Do you think I could pull them off?
Took a look at the weekender line up. I like this one. Thoughts?
What color shirt would I need?
EDIT: oh and I know I need a haircut. Been putting that off for a while..
>a good first everyday watch that would be fine in situations such as interviews
Formal and semi-formal situations? I'd go with a simple dress watch.
For budget and great looking, consider a Timex Easy Reader, $30, it's a white dial watch with leather strap, great for what you're going for.
What's your budget? Around the hundreds, I'd go with an Orient Bambino, it goes for around $120-$150. It's very classic, minimalist, has a dome crystal, and is not very distracting. It's an automatic too. There's 4 versions of the Bambino. I personally like version 1, and version 2 with blue hands.
A little higher, Timex has been doing some great reissues. The Timex Marlin, $200, is pretty understated but eye catching. It's a manual wind movement watch with a call back design. This will probably be my next watch.
Lastly, Tissot has some great automatic's. The Tissot Visodate, $400, is a fantastic watch for the price.
All these watches can be had for much cheaper if you're open to looking at the gray market (watch exchange forums, ebay, etc.). I hope this helps, at the very least to show what's out there. Cheers and best wishes!

Everyone's going to say the Timex Weekender but personally I prefer the Timex Easy Reader, here's my favorite.
Not 1-for-1, but what about the Timex Easy Reader or this Mondaine?

Also the timex weekender is available in many colors.
BAM!
More versatile than the Weekender. You can find it at most Target stores for around that same price.
I'm a big fan of the Timex Weekender or Easy Reader, personally. Although they are well under your budget, they are classy enough to work.
http://www.amazon.ca/Timex-Mens-Fashion-watch-T20041/dp/B000B55AEA/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1334170989&sr=8-3
You say brown leather strap and white face. What do you have in mind for the rest of the watch? Preference on colour/material of the watch body itself? Were you wanting any sort of calendar functionality?
The Timex Easy Reader tends to be fairly popular around here. You might want to take a look at that.
See I bought a pair on sale at Urban (for like $40!) that were a 27 or 28, I can't remember, as a goal pair, but I had them for a while and I couldn't get them past my upper thighs so I ended up giving them to a girl, she moved away, and I know I'd fit into them now man, sucks.
A Timex is about $35 (Easy Reader, Weekender, Leather Weekender) unless you meant that until you can afford a quality watch, you're not gonna bother with one at all, which isn't really a bad idea.
For timex I think I like their simple plain watches better.
However, in almost all of their watches, because they're cheap what you get is a bit of a stiff plain band.
Timex Easy Reader
Jeans: These or these

Sperry's in Sahara will go with almost everything
Belt in Sienna
Timex Easy Reader
Keys:
I'm not sure if I want to carry a full-sized knife anymore but I think the Boker Plus Nano ($43) looks cool!
That's just about my current EDC. I'm planning on eventually buying the carabiner, key knife, tweezers, and I'll probably go with a desantis pocket mag carrier opposed to the 3x more expensive Milt Sparks.
I've always thought the timex weekender looked a lot like the runwell. They're dirt cheap yet generally live up to their motto, "Takes a licking, keeps on ticking."
EDIT: Not nearly as cheap but I think this Christopher Ward looks similar to a runwell too.
EDIT2: Maybe this Wenger also? Never heard about them on this sub much, not sure about the quality.
Timex with a brown/burgundy leather strap. Nice, simple watch at a good price.
ORANGE MONSTER!
well - do you want durable or a great watch or a little of both?
for 200 dollars I cannot recommend a Seiko Monster highly enough. Nice looking, well built and well respected in the watch world.
There is a reason why it has 267 reviews and is a average 4.9 out of 5. it's a great great watch. it comes in black also. Yellow as well - but that one is rare and collectors have grabbed it.
http://www.amazon.com/Seiko-SKX781-Orange-Monster-Automatic/dp/B000EPLR2G/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1396664903&sr=8-3&keywords=Seiko+monster
Orange Monster
If you want a Chronograph, then I agree 100% - this is a great choice. It's also available in a Black Bezel
There is also an older version of their non-solar Quartz diver with a Chronograph called the SNAE25 (I don't know that I would buy this one on Amazon as it doesn't come with warranty).
If you can give up the Chronograph, then you have the Monster and Classic Divers to look at.
Good luck!
I know it's not the style you want, but the Seiko Orange Monster immediately came to mind.
I'm not a fan of quartzs and/or chronos, so I'd say that if these are your only 2 options, then go for the Orient - although I think the double crowns look a bit odd.
Although this one's not a 'nice' watch, it's an automatic, it can take a beating, looks cool, has incredible lume, screw-down crown, uni-directional bezel, and is a must-have for any new watch collector on a tight budget:
Seiko Black Monster
Seiko Orange Monster
Lastly, don't overlook Raymond Weil for a nice watch in the $500 price range - Amazon is full of them.
my $.02
I would suggest taking a look here:
http://forums.watchuseek.com/f71/
Beyond that, I'd say if you want one that uses a battery, go with a Citizen Eco Drive. (I have one of these and it has treated me well: http://www.amazon.com/Citizen-BL8000-54L-Eco-Drive-Perpetual-Calendar/dp/B00074HDAO/ref=sr_1_4?s=watches&ie=UTF8&qid=1291526117&sr=1-4) If you want an automatic I'd suggest either an Orient 'Mako' Diver (I have this one: http://www.amazon.com/Orient-Mens-CEM65002D-Automatic-Watch/dp/B001EWEQ3K/ref=sr_1_7?s=watches&ie=UTF8&qid=1291526189&sr=1-7 and it treats me well) or a Seiko 'Monster' Diver (http://www.amazon.com/Seiko-SKX781-Orange-Monster-Automatic/dp/B000EPLR2G/ref=sr_1_2?s=watches&ie=UTF8&qid=1291526221&sr=1-2) Neither of those will set you back the full $300. Heck you could get both and still have a couple bucks left over.
What kind of price are you looking for? Amazon typically has brand new ones on bracelet for around $200. The monster holds its value better than anything not made by Rolex, so you're going to have a tough time sniping a deal on eBay without taking any chances.
I too have a Casio, although that was because of the price rather than Red Bull sponsorship.
Looks like a casio or swatch, see below.

prob the casio; similar band.
if he has a tendency to dip his arm in water without really thinking about the watch, maybe one of the 100m water resistant Casio ladies divers might be a good option, like the LRW200H-1BV; unisex style but at a smaller 33mm size.
the Timex Weekender is an option as well. You could get him a bunch of cheap nato straps for it as well if he wants to change the look.
for digital, any of the Casios would work, like the F91W-1 or the A168WA-1

I've owned a Timex and several Casio. It'd always go for a Casio myself, however it's personal preference.
Here is a good example of the type you seem to be after. I only ever owned the plastic-bodied versions, but would always recommend Casio for good-value watches.
I'd always recommend buying a solid automatic watch. Watches like MK, DW, fossil, etc, are cheaply made with Chinese parts and usually run on quartz and are meant to be replaced when they start to break down. Investing in an automatic can really ensure you have a great watch that will last.
Like mentioned, the skx007 is a great watch and will last you a lifetime. You can also mod this watch quite easily as well and the movement will last forever. Many watch enthusiasts love Seiko, myself included (have 3 will probably get more). Seiko 5's are also solid entry-level watches and many come in around the $100 mark depending on model: https://www.amazon.com/Seiko-SNK789-Automatic-Stainless-Steel/dp/B0018N0HL0/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=seiko+5&qid=1565104496&s=gateway&sr=8-4
The Orient Bambino is also a great entry-level automatic dress watch with a few different dial combos: https://www.amazon.com/Orient-Bambino-Japanese-Automatic-Stainless/dp/B01N45HWRM
For a cheaper diver, the Orient Ray/Mako lines are good as well: https://www.amazon.com/Orient-FAA02004B9-Display-Japanese-Automatic/dp/B01AK5TQXG/ref=sr_1_2?crid=K6K5EI9K3HA7&keywords=orient+mako+2&qid=1565104421&s=gateway&sprefix=orient+mako%2Caps%2C187&sr=8-2
If you can spend more you can look at Hamilton's Khaki line or Jazzmaster, Seiko Sumo or Seiko Sarb033, Sinn Watches, Chris Ward, Squale, Junker's Bauhaus or Max bill if you like the Daniel Wellington Style.
You can even look at used/vintage and get a nice Omega Seamaster for ~$500
I love the SNK789, I wear it every day. I have about 6 different straps for it, I usually wear a NATO strap like this or this, unless I am dressing up a little more formal with a shirt and tie and nice leather shoes. In that case, I will use either a brown leather strap or a black one to match my shoes and belt.
This Citizen or Seiko. If you'd prefer an automatic (with a less of a minimalist look), then you could get this Seiko 5 and replace the bracelet with a leather strap
Seiko 5 SNK789. link
very reasonably priced
https://www.amazon.ca/Seiko-SNK789-Automatic-Stainless-Steel-Bracelet/dp/B0018N0HL0/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1521845591&sr=8-11&keywords=seiko+5
I guess they're back up now. These in white, black, or blue dial were selling for $64 from Nov last year to Feb. The prices always change cause its Amazon, but they will go down again eventually. Also the SNK80* series also frequently sells for $64, although none at the moment. You're about a week late for that one.
I'd recommend taking a look at the Seiko 5 range. At their price range, you can pick one up and still have cash for a handful of straps. Here's one for example, but there's plenty to choose from.
Seiko Men's SNK789
If you like to two-tone designs, maybe one like this:
Seiko SNKM58
It's way too dressy for regular wear, and as someone already pointed out, it's a Movado clone, which is going to look cheap and make you look cheap. For an every day wear, look for something with a white face, a limited number of complications (like day and date), a silver or stainless steel case, and a stainless steel bracelet or black leather strap. Something like this.
I don't think it's terribly big but it's far too thick for your hand IMO. I'd look for thinner options if you want an automatic watch with lume (the stuff that makes the dial glow).
Unfortunately, you can't really get an automatic for that low unless you look at used options. BUT, I'd give the Seiko 5 lineup a glance.
Here's a watch that perfectly fits all of your specifications, That is: Under $100, Automatic, has Lume on the hands, and it should fit your wrist size.
Here's another:
And another:
I'd return it and keep looking around. The watch gave you a good idea of what wrist sizes you should be looking at. All of the watches above are between 36mm and 39mm respectively.
Look through the Seiko 5 lineup. Alternatively, look around the used market or try to hunt for deals when they come up. Massdrop always has watches for sale so it's worth a shot there. There's also /r/Watchexchange to buy watches from other redditors. You can't do much with $100 but if you try something good will usually come along.
Here it is on amazon, where I got it.
I was going to get this http://www.amazon.com/Timex-T20011-Reader-Brown-Leather/dp/B0000TII00/ref=sr_1_23?ie=UTF8&qid=1291775756&sr=8-23 but i do need to pay off a holiday with my next paycheck :(
I wear something like this occasionally. Something as simple as a watch actually adds a lot to your look.
This is the watch I have. I love it. It was cheap as far as watches go, and it still looks classy in my opinion.
Here it is on my wrist.
It's actually the one that came with the watch. It's this one, I think.
> Timex
So something like this, then?
https://www.amazon.com/Timex-T20011-Reader-Brown-Leather/dp/B0000TII00/ref=sr_1_4?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1526323416&sr=1-4&nodeID=7141123011&psd=1&keywords=Timex&refinements=p_36%3A2661612011
I'd like to second the easy reader, as a super skinny dude myself. I just bought this one, with a brown strap and it sounds a lot like what you're looking for, OP. Also it's super cheap.
Timex - This is the first pair of watch I got. I think it looks really nice and it's very versatile. It's cheap, easy to read, it even has a backlight for dark areas.
Some canvas sneakers from Jackthreads
This watch from the sidebar.
I also really want those boots from JCP that were posted the yesterday. I don't gots the dough though.
Nice of you to do this. I could use a more casual band for my new Timex Easyreader.
What about the Timex Easy Readers for $30? Not the greatest watch, but they fit these styles and are half the price.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000TII00/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 i rock these every day. I get a lot of compliments on it too!
i've been looking for a cheap minimalist watch, thoughts on these two?
I've found that the easy reader is just as stylish, significantly quieter, and displays the date and day of the week at the exact same price as the weekender (~$30). Not sure why it's not more popular around here.
Both have indiglo and are water resistant too, and are water resistant up to 30m. I have accidentally taken my easy reader swimming before and it continues to tick (quietly!)
Almost a year ago I made a post about how “working man’s” watches need to be recognized too. I posted the super beat up watch I wore to rock climb and it got a surprising amount of love. The next guy up to the task is nothing but a Timex Easy Reader with a black nylon NATO strap, and has been nothing short of reliable, functional, and even fashionable when necessary. Every feature on the watch, even down to the strap does not go without a use.
When in the midst of time-sensitive and sometimes dangerous activities like rock climbing, checking the time needs to be as fluid and easy as possible. The watch itself also needs to be inexpensive, lightweight, and durable. You may think this is a tall order, but surprisingly, Timex’s lower end watches fit the bill. This is why I chose the Weekender last time, and it’s why the Easy Reader has proved itself an amazing next choice. The giant digits prove its namesake and the bright red second hand provides nothing but reading clarity. The lightweight case and durable nylon strap allow me to climb with confidence and efficiency, as if the watch weren’t even there. The day/date feature is the cherry on top, making this thing a virutal wrist-calendar without sacrificing simplicity and legibility.
Oftentimes when I am out on a climbing trip I like to find a place to swim as well. Naturally, Timexes are freaking cockroaches, and the “WR 30M” label need fool no-one. This thing is straight up waterproof up to at least ten feet. And when camping, I make frequent use of the indiglo feature, as I hammock camp and there is nothing more frustrating than trying to reach for your phone in pitch darkness while stuffed in an Eno.
I’ve even worn the watch “out on the town” and have still gotten compliments on its understated and universally applicable design characteristics. In terms of fashion, this watch is a chameleon. It compliments anything I wear it with.
If you are an outdoorsman/woman but don’t like the gaudier sports watch options marketed to the outdoors, trust in the basics. They’ll do the job just as well without making you look like there’s a Squirtle strapped to your wrist.
Just ordered my first nice suit yesterday from suit supply, and now I'm trying to get a watch to go with it. The suit is Navy blue, and so I've been trying to find a simple budget watch (for under $150) to go with it. Some of the watches I've been looking at online are
What do you guys think? I'm leaning more towards a white face, but I really like that blue Seiko watch, too
I just wish they carried this one.
I'm guessing you're talking about this one? I have it too and I love it. Got some leather NATO straps for it and it works with anything.
This watch-face is called "Das Slick" and was made available by a developer named "jdixl" on the Pebble app store. Its online link is available here. The developer did a great job of all the graphics, animations, and proportions of the different pieces. Unfortunately I have not been able to find any contact info for jdixl, but hope I can still perhaps find a watch that was his inspiration for this face.
As Pebble products are in a tricky state of being these days, I have been looking for a different watch to switch to. This watch-face was my favourite on my pebble watch, so finding something close or identical would be really awesome.
If you don't think you know any relevant info... I would still appreciate your advice. My taste is more towards slim and simple watches, I like Timex Weekender watches, and recently ordered one with an even slimmer profile called Timex Easy Reader Day-Date. So far the Timex Easy Reader is the closest I've found to the Das Slick face. Perhaps you can give me some suggestions or ideas based on that info & the picture in this post.
Thanks for your advice and time guys.

And I like it....just got some nato straps in the mail today!
It's just too classic and simple to not wear
That looks a little on the large size, but that is a nice looking watch. I also like the Timex Easy Reader, but again, a little large I fear.
Is it this one?
I like this more: http://www.amazon.com/Timex-T20041-Reader-Brown-Leather/dp/B000B55AEA/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1311080384&sr=8-8
Comes in a black face too
This is my current favorite watch and the price is unbeatable.
I like cheap watches because I am hard on things. I have purchased a few casio and timex watches cause they're simple and affordable.
cheap watch 1
cheap watch 2
That'll be a pretty tight price point for something "cool". As far as sizing, look in the watch description for the case size. 40mm or smaller will work fine on a small wrist. From there, I'd go to Amazon and search Men's Timex Watch -- that's one of two companies who make decent watches in the $20 range. The other is Casio but they tend to make bigger watchs that might be too large for your wrist.
Something like https://www.amazon.com/Timex%C2%AE-Reader-Brown-Leather-T20041/dp/B000B55AEA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1473330695&sr=8-1&keywords=men%27s+timex+watch will be a classy looking every day option and it's well sized for your wrist. If you want a digital readout, you could go with something like https://www.amazon.com/Timex-T78677-Classic-Gold-Tone-Expansion/dp/B000SQM5PE/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1473330695&sr=8-11&keywords=men%27s+timex+watch for a retro look, or something like https://www.amazon.com/Timex-T5E901-Ironman-Watch-Black/dp/B000AYTYLW/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1473330695&sr=8-4&keywords=men%27s+timex+watch for more features.
Hey man! Do these two items definitely fit together? 1 2 The band seems like its 19mm, the watch allows for 18mm.
Is it easy to change the band?
I was in need of a brown leather-strapped watch (and by need, I mean I just wanted one pretty bad) so did some reading up on this one. It's a Timex Easy Reader that I purchased here. I considered the Timex Weekender after reading a GQ article on it, but I wanted a leather strapped watch so I went with this.
I'm very happy with it, especially for the price. It is really clean and didn't expect this sort of quality from Timex.
Why not a weekender that is in a similar style as the Breda?

Thanks! I like the SNK809 and SNKE063 and they definitely seem like an upgrade to my black Weekender that I'd definitely be interested in, but I'm ideally looking for an upgrade to my white Easy Reader… any ideas?
Hoho, now I'm thinking of..

No problem. Here's one more idea, before I head out. It's the Timex Easy Reader. Analog so easy to set, great contrasting hands, however it's a little bit smaller at 35mm. Just another one to consider.
This or this is what you want.
you might like some of the Timex watches, these two are my favorite
i've gotten a lot of compliments on the 2nd one (which i own). the only problem i find with it is the the band is kinda wonky, but it's nothing i'd worry about. for the first few weeks i thought it was a lot more fragile than it was, but i found that the trick was to just have it 1 notch less than too tight, so that it fit on but it had room to move as well.
the band problem is remedied by the 1st one, but imo the band looks sexier on the 2nd.
timex is really one of my favorite watch companies because they have a lot of watches with the aesthetic i like.
if you want, i can post a picture of what the watch looks like on my wrist. i have very small wrists too and the fact that i found one that i love surprised me.
Any of one, two, three, four for a casual daily watch, like with jeans/shorts and tee? I will wear them to work as well, but dress code is casual so yeah. I have really small wrist (about 45mm width) and metal bracelet feel massive and heavy on my wrist, so I guess have to do with leather or nylon. Not sure if the nylon strap look too childish or look out of place with the rest of the outfit though :(
What are you guys' opinions on this Timex Easy Reader? Timex Men's Easy Reader Brown Leather Watch - T20041 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000B55AEA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_loKSzbV8VHJQP
Right now this $10 Casio is the only slightly dressy watch I have.
I like it but the crystal (plastic?) has gotten more and more scratched from general wear. I don't think I want a nylon band since the watch will get wet frequently if I wear it while working.
I don't have a lot of money to spend but would like to get a slightly nicer analog watch with a date function for under $100. I plan to use this watch while bartending so it will be splashed in triple sinks for a few hours every day. But I might just wear the Casio I have now while working since it's already slightly dickerd and only $10.
So far I've found these two through Amazon:
$21 Tonnier
$29 Timex Easy Reader
If someone had a gun to my head I'd buy the Timex but I'm not in a rush to buy and need to do more research.
I'll link a few more to get an idea of the style I'm looking for. Definitely looking for a smaller watch that won't get in the way or snagged on stuff.
$25 SONGDU
$22 Biden
$20 Curren
$24 VAVC
Didn't do much research into those last couple but just linking the style I'm looking for and I'll add some more on. I like high contrast black/white faces but I'm also cool with red/brown/blue accents but the more color neutral the better.
Thank you very much! I like the watches quite a bit. I was looking at this one in particular. Yay or nay?
This is what I've got and I think it looks really good for the price. Kind of a similar look to what you posted.
http://www.amazon.com/Timex-T20041-Reader-Brown-Leather/dp/B000B55AEA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1333953579&sr=8-1
Its basically a weekender with a leather brown strap. I am constantly receiving compliments on it.
Some basic characteristics of the most everyday watch you can get: no flashiness, silver-colored metal only if there's any metal, simplicity in design, lightweight, and any kind of band except black leather.
Some of MFA's most often mentioned basics: The Timex Weekender, the Timex Easy Reader, and Citizen Eco Drive(you would probably want to replace the black watch band with a brown leather one).
You're not limited to these, however. Some personal favorites are the Orient Sky, the Orient Union, Skagen, and Seiko.
Don't take my examples as a firm limitation, however, there's literally hundreds of good watches out there.
Here you go.

Nope. The easy reader is by Timex.
This watch is by Hamilton.
I have this Timex Easy Reader and can never hear it ticking unless it's right next to my ear.
I have the same wrists as you. I've always been embarrassed by big watches. I bought this one and I love it. It's pretty small, but not feminine and my skinny wrist looks fine in it. I bought it at Walmart.
This Timex, or this one. I like the black face on the second but the first seems to go with any attire.
It looks like the Timex Easy Reader I have.
I've got the same one with the original leather band.
I had a weekender too and ended up getting rid of it for the same reason. I ended up with this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000B55AEA/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It's a lot quieter and the day/date is nice. I ended up stealing the nylon strap from the weekender.
I'd recommend if possible stretching your budget to around $50 because it will open up a lot more options. If you strictly need under $30 I'd go for one of these

dude. thank you so much! this helped out a LOT. was actually gonna buy that weekender exactly because i figured it had the leather strap already with it. thanks for the info
EDIT: sorry a lot of questions. think the easy reader would be a good buy? preferably this I know it's a bit smaller than the weekender but I has a white face and dark brown leather strap already. plus it's below 30 bucks. i might just pick this one up
Haha. Whoops. The silver one in the picture looks like the one I have, which is on Amazon here.
https://www.amazon.com/Seiko-SKX781-Orange-Monster-Automatic/dp/B000EPLR2G was my first scuba watch. Cheap, durable, awesome.
Currently rocking this one...... I actually bought it in Yokohama. Its large, durable, and snazzy. I wear it to work also.

Maybe a Diver's watch with a fold-over clasp. They will stick on to you, won't shatter if you whack them against the side of the ambulance while moving the stretcher or what-have-you, and are designed to take abuse one way or another.
A Seiko Orange Monster,Timex Performance Dive, this Invicta, and Orient's offerings (you can subtract half with the ILoveOrient coupon code), could be what you want.
PS: Wouldn't you want a chronograph, given the time sensitive nature of what you do?
This has a similar style to what you're looking for in that price range.
Maybe one of the colored Orient Mako's.
Or a Seiko 5 Seiko Orange Monster Bulova Marine Star
Not really an accent so much as just having orange everywhere, but you can always go with the seiko orange monster
Nice, exactly what I was looking for. Thanks. Looks like there is another version with a different font as well. Think I prefer the second.
Orbitkey 2.0. Basically a wallet for your keys, really cool and convenient. Leather, rubber, or fabric variants are available, I personally Like the all black leather version.
Casio watch. They’re cheap, minimal and durable.
this digital and this analogue are my personal favourites.
A Leather Valet tray. These are simple stylish leather trays that you or your husband can dump your edc stuff into. The best ones I’ve come across are from Etsy.
Travel wallet. Like this. I’m not sure if this exact product is available in the US, but you get the gist. They keep all the important stuff in one place when you go travelling, passport, cards money, boarding passes etc.
BLF A6 torch this package comes with a battery included. I also found a discount code ‘8a955d’ which I think takes about $5 off. This thing is very bright, durable, and has a pretty small size(it’s not for the pocket, rather for a bag) it is only sold from banggood.com, so it’s manufactured and shipped from China so expect 2-3 weeks shipping. but it is designed from American flashlight enthusiasts and is sure a steal for the price. heres a charger for the battery.
Finally a nice steel water bottle. This is what I have in the 750ml, it’s cheap and simple, again this one is from China, but just any steel water bottle would be fine.
Anyway I hope this helps, I kinda just listed things that I’d like in hope your husband does too hehe. I think they’re generally things that you can’t go wrong with.
Im from the uk so some of the links I supplied might not be relevant to you in the US(I assume), but they’re there so you know what product I’m talking about :)
Looks pretty similar to this one, but its got a gold face so could be this one? he's wearing one in the Potato Salad video too I think?

Casio alternative if you want something similar! Almost bought it myself, but settled on a Casio F-91W
Haven't worn a watch in a while, interested in grabbing something for every day wear, analogue, non-metal strap.
Pauper budget <$100 CAD
Just a couple I was looking at the other night for something to go on.

My girlfriend told my Santos looked like a Casio. Ain't wrong.
It's a version of this watch Casio A168WA-1
I can't find the silver face version, though. Good luck!
Ah, so one of these then:

https://www.amazon.com/Casio-Vintage-A168WA-1YES-Electro-Luminescence/dp/B000LAKYW8
Something similar to this, either an over lay or under lay which requires very little power.
Here are two that I wanted to get a while ago, I never bought them in the end but they are pretty cool watches imo.

A bit bulky imho. I'd recommend a classic Casio or a Timex Weekender.

I've got one of these Casio watches that has a button to light up the face with a nice blue glow
Casio Duro. Inexpensive, durable and waterproof. If you want an automatic, you could go with a waterproof seiko 5.
Personally I probably just get on of these for my festival visit in august.
Currently have this one: https://www.amazon.com/Casio-A168W-1-Stainless-Steel-Watch/dp/B000LAKYW8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1503174527&sr=8-1&keywords=casio+a168
But I'm contemplating buying this Solar powered, Atomic watch: https://www.amazon.com/G-Shock-GWM5610-1-Solar-Black-Resin/dp/B007RWZHXO/ref=sr_1_1?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1503174623&sr=1-1&nodeID=7141123011&psd=1&keywords=casio+gw5600
But I think if I buy the last one, consumerism will have bested me.
You can find some of this subs favourite watches here - all of them are under $150, because honestly, if you are going to spend more than that, you should probably do a significantly more amount of research. If you don’t like rubber strap, I would suggest getting a NATO strap-they are compatible with nearly any watch, and super cheap.
My personal recommendation would be a metal Casio A168 or MDV106 with a NATO strap
This is a problem im kinda having too right now. I currently wear a gshock but want to switch it up for something a little slimmer. Gshocks run pretty big for me (like 44mm+). Casio seemingly dominates the market for cheap sport watches that are ridiculously durable. Was thinking of getting a casio A168WA
None of them are massive, unless you want to go down the G-shock route. I have this one and I've never found it to be particularly small.
Casio watches are easily my favorite brand of watch.
Incredibly cheap yet incredibly durable and functional.
Just bought my second Casio ever A168W-1, got it for about $17USD - worth every penny.
A simple versatile watch could be great. A Timex Weekender, even a Casio A168W-1 Stainless Steel (amazon).
Agreed. Nothing against the Mako, but a cheap Seiko 5 with a simple dial and a leather strap would be worlds better for a 'dress' setup. Inexpensive too, especially if one doesn't have to dress up that often. It could easily be worn in other settings too.
Seiko makes tons of Seiko 5 automatics with metal bands. Here's pretty much that for $75. Search Amazon for "Seiko 5".
I understand completely! It's a big world of watches these days. I always recommend picking up a seiko 5. Here's one that's 36mm. I'd also recommend checking out the watches on /r/watchexchange. There are good deals and good people to be found over there. Best of luck!

edit: and of course check out the buying guide here on /r/watches.
It sounds like you're looking for what's broadly called a 'dress' watch. Slim, simple dial, white face, black or dark brown leather strap.
With a $100 budget I recommend a Seiko 5, possibly the SNK789, SNKK87 or SNKL41 with a new 22mm band.
Should be able to squeak in under $100 and will have something that looks like these.
There is one from the same family, but not this exact model for $67.
Seiko Men's SNK789 Seiko 5 Automatic Stainless Steel Watch with White Dial https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0018N0HL0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_uNS9BbBWNW0QZ
I’ll make a price revision down to $55.
I have big wrists. The Seiko 5 automatic is a 37mm. I bought the metal bracelet and replaced the strap with leather. It was a great decision.
Edit: here is the link
Would these two items yield me the exact same watch? And i mean exact

seiko snk789 is a good choice then.
I don't know if you're set on a leather strap, but if you're not, this is an option.
Otherwise, there's not a whole lot of Seikos with leather bands in that price range. Are you set on that particular brand?
Thanks for your help.
I've taken the plunge but have gone for a SNK289 instead: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0018N0HL0?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00.
Went for this strap by Hirsch http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B009NK6OHG?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00
I've got a black face Skagen with black leather strap coming for Christmas which I intend to use for work (black leather shoes/black leather belt.)http://www.amazon.co.uk/Skagen-Analogue-Leather-SKW6104-Quartz/dp/B00O13IJ82/ref=sr_1_12?s=watch&ie=UTF8&qid=1450886945&sr=1-12&keywords=black
Went for the SNK289 as it has a white face and the brown leather strap will go well with my smart casual wear which tends to be brown leather shoes, brown leather belt.
Nice to have some variety.
You get can a 5 which isn't this:
http://www.amazon.com/Seiko-SNK809-Automatic-Black-Canvas/dp/B002SSUQFG
For example:
http://www.amazon.com/Seiko-SNK789-Automatic-Stainless-Steel-Bracelet/dp/B0018N0HL0
And then it won't look like the 5 that everyone else has.
Seiko 5
Crown and Buckle Silas strap
Spring Bar Tool
Total ~ $121 (I didn't factor in shipping though)
After scouring the buying guides (thank you for those!), I've decided that I want to purchase a Seiko watch for my SO, but I'm stuck between these three options. I want to get whichever of these options is the best value. The first one is a solar watch, but one of the reviews as well as the lack of description made me wary that it might not be legitimate. The second is a Seiko 5 watch, but the Amazon description has different measurements than I've found for the same watch elsewhere, which again makes me wary. Do you guys have any advice for me on which of these three watches to purchase?

If you don't mind automatics you can check out the Seiko 5 SNKs like this or this. They're both 37mm.
Or there's a similar looking solar Seiko that's the same size.
I bought a smart watch U8 its called( to celebrate losing 2 stone). Then last month, I decided to buy a proper watch for my birthday.
I missed out on a second hand, Seiko 5, on Ebay. Showed my friend, & he bought me a brand new one from Amazon. SNK789
Loved it, but since I missed out on ebay, they kept showing other Seiko 5's from India. So I bought another, just to wear daily, to keep the new one for special occasions, like the weekend.
Found this community, & I have been looking at other watches on Amazon & ebay. Damn! I keep buying watches now. I just bought a Casio Diver's watch
I got an old display cabinet from a charity shop, I volunteer at, to display all my old film cameras. But now, it has more watches than cameras.
I need to un-sub from here.
If you're only looking at field watch seiko 5s you're not looking hard enough
SNK789, for example
White is a wee bit formal though, and also maybe hard to go with other outfits.
How about black?
Hey, maybe you're feeling silly?
And it's not only the watch that determines the style of the set. Maybe you should think about perlons or bracelets for casual, or leather?
Something like this actually goes with basically anything at anytime, but especially work. However case size might be a bit small? Is he a big man? Does he like a larger watch?
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0018N0HL0/ref=mp_s_a_1_86?ie=UTF8&qid=1487038096&sr=8-86&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=seiko+watches+for+men&dpPl=1&dpID=41WYqoCaybL&ref=plSrch
TL;DR: I'm looking for a recommended replacement for my Seiko SNK789. Preferred budget is $70; max budget is $120.
I need to replace my Seiko SNK789, which I bought after getting advice on this sub. I bought it on Amazon for about $68, and it came with a 2-year warranty serviced by Asurion. In early April, the watch started losing a few minutes a day, so I made a claim against the warranty. Asurion has taken forever—they claim that parts are on backorder—and they've offered to give me the purchase price, but they won't give me enough to buy the same watch, which is now $99.
So I'm wondering where to go from here. I could pay the extra $30 and get the same watch, but that seems like a lost opportunity to try something new. I'm not prepared to fork over $149 for the Orient Bambino. But I like the look of the Orient Symphony.
What does r/Watches think?
I am looking for a recommendation on a new watch to get. I normally wear a Moto 360 smart watch to class, but have several other watches that I wear. If I'm not wearing my smart watch I usually wear a Timex Weekender or a Bulova. I am looking to spend $150 or less on something that I can wear casually or dress up. I have seen many people here talking about the Seiko 5, and I particularly like the SNZF17 model found here:
https://www.amazon.com/Seiko-Black-Stainless-Automatic-SNZF17/dp/B001IBF15Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1485202767&sr=8-1&keywords=seiko+dial+5
However I am not aware of the difference between that one and this one:
https://www.amazon.com/Seiko-SNZF17-Automatic-Stainless-Steel-Bracelet/dp/B006ITF0YS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1485203438&sr=8-2&keywords=seiko+dial+5+snzf17
Even though the latter is $50 more. I like this specific model because it reminds me of the Rolex Submariner, but i can actually afford it. I also like the Invicta 8926OB found here
https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_c_1_9?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=invicta+8926ob&sprefix=invicta+8%2Caps%2C188&crid=30BB7AXHLO9AV&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Ainvicta+8926ob
But I have heard poor reviews of Invicta watches, even though I have heard good things about that specific model. I guess I would like someone better versed in wtches to point me in the right direction for what I am looking for.
If anybody wants something similar... i have this Seiko ("Sea Urchin") for sale. Just not my style. Comes with the original stainless band, a brown leather band, and a black/gray NATO strap. I think I still have the original box as well and the extra links.
Is amazon the best place to buy the seiko sea urchin? It's 160 there, but can I find it cheaper anywhere else? https://www.amazon.com/Seiko-Black-Stainless-Automatic-SNZF17/dp/B001IBF15Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1466961992&sr=8-1&keywords=seiko+snzf17
Hi! I’ve never owned a “nicer” watch, I’m really interested in the Seiko 5 SNZF17, but I’m confused as to why prices are so drastically different wherever I look. Like here and here.
I just want to make sure I’m getting the right product. Thanks!
$180 can definitely get you something decent. Where would you wear it? Are we talking an office setting, something casual with t-shirt and jeans? Something that can get beaten up outdoors or you can rock at the gym?
Lots of ideas out there, but it's like saying "What kind of shoes should I buy for $180?" -- really depends on what you're wearing them for!
A few popular ones:
The Casio "Duro". Known for it's classic design, can be worn on all kind of straps, and Casio is a well-respected manufacturer of quality affordable watches. It's also water resistant to 200m, which means you can take it literally anywhere and it'll operate like a champ.
If you want an upgraded version of the Casio, this Seiko is well-loved in the watch community and, if you spend a few dollars to get it serviced every 5 years or so at a local watch shop, will easily last you the rest of your life. Classic divers watch with a handsome metal band, and will pair well with any outfit short of a black-tie event. It doesn't take a battery either, because it's automatic!
Finally, if you don't care about water resistance and want something that will pair with any kind of "everyday" activities, consider the Braun. It's a great design because it's not flashy or too fancy, but will quietly just WORK with whatever you're wearing: suit, t-shirt, date night, bar night, whatever. Comes in black too.
I'm looking at buying a Seiko dive watch to start my collection and for the life of me cannot find any differences between these two watches outside of the model year. If someone could give me some input or tell me why I should spend the extra money that would be greatly appreciated
Model 1
Model 2
Could someone advise me on which of these two watches would be better:

Or
Orient Ray Blue
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Orient-21-Jewel-Automatic-Rubber-EM6500CD/dp/B008G39NFG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1450387700&sr=8-1&keywords=Orient+%22Blue%22+Ray
I plan to change the strap so that doesn't make a difference, I'm also not planning to actually go diving with either of them so it's more about the looks. I however don't know anything about watch quality or watch movements and the online reviews weren't really conclusive.
the Seiko SNZF1, Seiko SNN233 and Seiko SNZJ41 are all great sporty style watches in that range

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001IBF15Y/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
In looking around Amazon for a standard Seiko 5, such as the Seiko SNZF17 (aka Sea Urchin) or the SNZG15 (it's the penultimate Seiko 5), I stumbled across this. It's the SNZH59. It's black. I think this is what you really wanted.
I will just warn you that especially on the bracelet, the black will wear off, exposing the raw silver-colored metal.
Bandaids work! You could also try these! A friend of mine has smaller boobs and she wears these instead of a bra most days and says it's crazy comfortable.
Same here. I'm a 34B, and after testing the waters for a month I found them too uncomfortable to go back. I have never gotten a negative comment about it. Guys I date seem to be either indifferent or appreciative.
I wear Nippies Skin under see-through shirts or when I'm really concerned about nipple showage (e.g. during a job interview). I don't like it when my nipples get hard, but it rarely happens and I'm slowly training myself to give no fucks.
yeah for sure, those look real similar
i got http://www.amazon.com/Nippies-Skin-Reusable-Silicone-ADHESIVE/dp/B001PU9A9Q/ref=pd_bxgy_bt_text_z dose.
sorry about the stares, that's icky but I feel you
Silicone, mildly adhesive nipple covers for when you want to go braless. They’re reusable and apparently pretty comfortable. I don’t know the different brands, but here’s a link. Nippies on Amazon
hands down, the best. they have diff colors, i believe, to best suit your skin tone.
You can give a product like this a try.
I have these pasties, and I love them! I've worn them a couple times per week all summer, with zero problems.
Honestly I am pretty thrifty. But for the amount of time I spent pumping in the first 18 months, spending $25 on an actual hands free, strapless nursing bra was worth triple the price I paid. like this
Yes. It's this one.
It's awesome because it is super adjustable (big issue for me with my smaller ribcage and bigger boobs) and is wider so it actually covers and provides a little support. And the holes are nicer.

Found a really thorough post about Maternity/Nursing bras over there, thanks!
Clicking a few links led me to this monstrosity. Between that and the pregnancy vagina post, I am officially done for the day.
I just went back to work but I'll try to help.
I started pumping for a freezer stash at about 8 weeks and I still do my extra session most mornings because I'm worried my supply will dip if I stop. My husband uses the milk for baby's first feed after I leave.
I use this bra and it works well but I have to disrobe and put it on while I'm pumping and take it off when I'm done.
My baby takes every drop I make and my husband has to dip into the freezer stash sometimes so I'm not sure how to help you there. 😕
I use this, but it's not small:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002CVUODS/
Also for straps, consider something like this... if you're a strap hoarder like me. I have a 10up watch box, then this product for all my extra straps.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002CVUODS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_kPHhDb2D6TJ52
For tools, I have a little two tray Plano tackle box. All my watch/camera tools are in it... since they are almost the same tools anyway. But it's a good place to keep watch batteries, spring bars and tools, bracelet stuff, case back tools, my measuring caliper, etc

It appears 25 CAD, $20 US is the normal price according to camelcamelcamell. Description says it is made for 20 straps, but you have stacked yours, making room for 40.
I am seeing a fabric separator in the review photos, does yours have this?
I like this, thanks.
Thank you!
[The case](Optima Unisex 33-190 Black Twenty-Watch Case with Zipper https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002CVUODS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_nummybNBDT3D7) is pretty basic and cheap. But does the trick till I fill it up haha
I use this soft case. I'm happy with it, though getting the elastic over the connectors is a little bit of a stretch. This can mostly be solved by threading the skinny part of the bands through the elastic.
Ah you've got the one I'm looking at on amazon! I think. If it's this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002CVUODS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

You should check out the Seiko SNZH55.
It was my first automatic
For as much as I want to agree on the SKX, he did ask for a dress watch.
Maybe look at the Seiko dress diver, SNZH55 for $140, and get him a nice bottle of scotch with the money left over,
Hello gents, I'm trying to decide what watch to buy. My budget has a hard limit of $400 (weird right?) I've read the watch buying guides and there are some divers there that I like but lately this watch has been catching my attention. Does anybody here own a Citizen at4010-50e? Any reviews? Can I switch out the straps for nato straps or even leather ones? Also, any recommendation on good divers?
Thanks guys
Here are a couple.
(each word is a separate link, btw.)
Watches like Seiko's SKX007, SKX013 or SNZH57 are much better quality watches, and would be great for you because they have a very healthy modding community. You can buy all of the bezel inserts you want to use with a SXK007/SNZH57/SKX013 and swap them yourself. You can even change everything to make it look just like a blancpain fifty fathoms.

Hi,
Is it normal to wear a diver as a non diver? (I work in ict/trading/finance).
This watch got my interest: amazon link
I was specifically interest in this steel bracelet black dial type of watch. This was the other watch I consider in case it's considered a bit odd to weir a diver. amazon link
This one
So I've been wearing one of those digital Casio watches for awhile now and I'm looking to change it up a bit. Everyone seems to recommend the Timex weekender as a good cheap watch, so I was thinking of going with that. I just want to know exactly which face/band I should go with.
I'm changing up my wardrobe for this summer, and it's going to consist mostly of chino shorts in various colors, tshirts, and some light button-ups I got from H&M with boat shoes or basic sandals (Rainbow). I was thinking of going for something preppy-ish like this watch face with this band. I would just get the one that comes with that band, but the watch face looks weirdly formal and out of place to me. Also getting the two parts separately actually ends up cheaper.
Any thoughts? Does that combo work? Would it be alright with the olive band?
They may not make it anymore, closest thing I could find was this, Timex Weekender
I'm planning on buying my first watch, primarily for casual, everyday use. Since I don't want anything too fancy or expensive, I've landed on the Timex Weekender, but I'm still deciding on which color to choose.
I am relatively skinny with a dark-ish brown complexion (I'm Indian). Currently, I have the Olive and Blue/Gray Stripe on my mind, but I'm open to any suggestions. Which color should I choose? Let me know if you have any questions!
Does the Timex Weekender go on sale very often on Amazon? I'd like to buy one, but I would hate to miss out on saving a few bucks.
Also, which strap would you say is the more versatile, Olive or Blue and Gray?
The easiest way to compare things is to look at them side by side. Here:
One Two. Band aside, the faces are quite different.
Timex Easy Reader - $25
Timex Weekender (olive) - $28
Timex Weekender (Black) - $30
and more, and more.
Beats the $40 I bought mine for at Target. Great watches for the price.

Or this are better qualitatively and still stick to your specifications. Please don't buy a shitty meme watch.

like that. But just one that doesn't apparently click so loud.
Why everybody, I am looking to buy a everyday watch for under $100. I’m really just looking for a watch that will go with everything and I can always wear. So far the ones I’m considering in no particular order
Timex Weekender
This is nice because it’s cheap, and I could swap straps. However a lot of people complained of how loud it ticks, and it’s not water resistant
Timex Weekender Chronograph
This was my initial choice, but I have since second guessed myself and now am leaning elsewhere. I feel like the case is too thick, and it’s not too water resistant.
Invicta Pro Diver
I’m iffy on the metal band. I do enjoy the actual look of this, just not sure if it’s too classy.
Seiko 5 Automatic
This is the watch that’s in first right now. I would definitely purchase a leather strap for it off top, but some people reported it didn’t keep time well.
That’s my list. Overall, I’m just really looking for advice. I’m not very watch savvy, and would appreciate help by some of you pros. Let me know why these watches are good or bad, and offer some insight. I appreciate it!
I have a weekender, weekender Chrono and expedition Chrono.
The weekender is nice, except for the audible ticking. I prefer my expedition Chrono. (Which I should do a post of soon.)
I really like the styling of yours, especially the black dial, and white numbers. I may trade out my weekender for your setup. I prefer darker dial watches for my field watches.
Personally:
I feel like those are essentials, anything after that is a bonus. You could add extras in like a simple watch (eg. Timex Weekender; straps are customizable), a suit/business attire, jackets such as a bomber jacket, or whatever else you think you need. It all comes down to what styles you are into tho!
Good place to go for inspiration is r/malefashionadvice or r/frugalmalegashion if you have a strict budget. They have essentials guides for ya over there.
So I grabbed this weekender years ago as a whatever happens happens watch https://smile.amazon.com/Timex-Unisex-T2N651-Weekender-Slip-Thru/dp/B004VR9HP2/ref=sr_1_1?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1491660639&sr=1-1&nodeID=7141123011&psd=1&keywords=timex+weekender
and its been GREAT but I think now its time to upgrade. Id like to spend less than $400 and i'm staying away from movement charged automatics. I had a seiko 5 and was setting it all the time. Im leaning towards https://smile.amazon.com/Citizen-BM8180-03E-Eco-Drive-Analog-Japanese/dp/B000EQS1JW/ref=sr_1_1?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1491660895&sr=1-1&nodeID=7141123011&psd=1&keywords=citizen+eco+drive but seeing as how this will be my new daily driver Im open to spending more for a much better watch (within reason). Thank you guys a million fold for any suggestions and for this sub in general. Its awesome

I ended up getting a timex weekender. It's not fancy but I'm never really in too many fancy situations. And whenever I get bored I can always change out the band and have a new look.

here ya go mate. this shit gets me so many compliments haha
It's this on a leather strap. I'm wearing it now as a matter of fact.
/r/watches has some great recommendations.
At the upper end of your budget, I'd get a Seiko 5 (SNK805)
At the lower end, I'd get a Timex Weekender
There's 10430942q423 different colors/variations of this watch all for $20-50
Looking for somebody to score the TIMEXCM50 promo discount (I know it's "expired", but it's possible to still get it applied, I see) on this watch and then ship it to me after receiving it.
I'm in Australia and this item doesn't ship here, and every outlet offering Timex watches has them at $50-$100. With the 50% off, the watch is $10.69, and I will pay that plus whatever the shipping happens to be.
Really need it to gift to somebody, so the help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys, PM me if you're willing to help with it!
Thanks. It's a timex weekender. I'm using a custom leather strap instead of the nylon one that comes with.

Anyone have any preferences? Are these just going to go dead in a few weeks or are they priced so low because they have minimalistic tendencies?
The Timex Weekender is always a safe/good/versatile choice.
I wear an analogue watch, and have for about 15 years. I wore Fossil watches for the first 5 or so, and have worn the one I wear now for the last ~10 years. It's easier to tell about what time it is at a glance with an analogue watch. And really, that's how we think about and understand time, with approximations.
If you are like me, when you look at a digital watch and it says 7:43 pm, your brain will translate that to "about 7:45pm" before it uses the information. So, seeing 7:43pm vs 7:45pm doesn't make a difference in what it means to me. In either case, I know I have about 15 minutes until it's 8 o'clock.
For this reason, I find an analogue watch to be more intuitive/easier to use.
However, if they often need to know precise/exact times (i.e., they need to know that it's 7:43pm and knowing "about 7:45pm" isn't good enough), a digital watch might be a better option. I can't really come up with a scenario where this would be important (and one wouldn't have the time to just look more closely at an analogue watch), but I'm sure someone's job involves this sort of thing.
The thing that I like most about the watch that I've worn for the last decade is that it's low/no maintanence. It's one of the Citizen Eco-Drive watches that runs off of solar power. So in the ~10 years, the only service it has needed is replacing one of the spring pins (and it only needed that because I was a doofus and broke it while removing a link).
But really, you should just ask him. INTJs aren't all the same in their preferences for things. They're similar in that they come up with systems. A watch is a device that they'd be expected to wear all the time, i.e. it would become part of their system. In a bygone age, it would be a welcome part of any person's system (saving them the time of finding a public clock somewhere). But nowadays, everyone is carrying a phone around with them which they can use to tell time, and so they don't see the need to wear a watch, and may even consider it a burden.
TL;DR: INTJs come up with systems, but we don't all come up with the same systems. The only way to know what watch would best fit into your INTJs system (or if a watch would fit into their system at all) would be to talk to them about it.
EDIT: If you really want to get them a watch, maybe consider getting them something like a Timex Weekender or Timex Expedition Scout. They're no-frills, all practical options, and are low enough cost that they can be considered a safe "experiment" to see how he likes having a watch as part of his system. From there, you can find out what he likes and doesn't like, and us that knowledge to get him something more expensive for his birthday or something down the line.
I think you best option is to either buy him a nice G-shock, or buy something like
This or This and just accept that he'll need it replaced every so often. The weekender looks kind of like the Bertucci you like, and I can personally vouch for the Casio Chronograph.
All that said, I would personally just buy a G-shock which will last him for a very long time. It is a little bit bulky, but it's going to be the toughest one to break. Also, if he doesn't genuinely want to wear the watch, he won't. He'll just put it on in the morning to make you happy and set it in his car as soon as he gets to work.

Yeah. I got this one because the picture looked like it was a brighter white than the olive one, which looked like an off white.
Well, I wouldn't consider this or this a crowded face. Sorry if I was abrasive, you just didn't have the iirc in the parent comment.
Despite not really liking watches, after a lot of pestering from friends and family I've decided to buy a Timex Weekender, but I have some questions regarding the watch face and strap. For reference, the attire I would most likely be wearing with this watch would be your basic bastard /r/MFA uniform (ocbd, dark wash slim fit jeans, etc)
Thanks in advance!
Not exactly the same, but pretty similar: http://www.amazon.com/Timex-Unisex-T2N651-Weekender-Olive/dp/B004VR9HP2/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1375279505&sr=8-2&keywords=timex+weekender

With an appropriate watch strap, could I wear this Timex weekender with a suit?
first time posting in MFA, but i've been lurking here for a couple months,
I'm at work right now so I can't get any personal pics up, but I'm a bigger-framed guy (6'0" about 215 lbs) so i picked up 4 different pairs of levi's 514
and then just yesterday i ordered:
i picked up 3 weekender watches so i could be as versatile as i wanted with straps and faces 1 2 3 and i started a new job at a forge (office job, but still require steel toe boots if i go out to the shop) so i bought these
Same minimal style, smaller size.
Movement shouldn't be that big of a deal.
I'm honestly considering keeping it simple and switching to this Timex Weekender.

Hey! Is the Panache Sport in the color that Amazon calls turquoise/lime?
Any chance you'd be interested in a beige 28DD Panache Porcelain?
Ah, this is more complex than I realized it would be!
I will purchase a 28FF this weekend and see how that fits and if I can get used to it.
I've seen a lot of people raving about the Panache sports bra. Do you have any experience with this brand, and if you do, do I keep the 28FF as well?
Thanks so much!
I'm already intimidated because I just looked up VS bras, and they don't even list band size 28. Or bigger cup sizes for smaller bands. This will need some shopping around, yeah shopping!
Have you tried a cross back encapsulation bra, like this one? http://www.amazon.com/Le-Mystere-Womens-Energie-Sports/dp/B0038JENO4 or this one http://www.amazon.com/Panache-Womens-Underwired-Sports-Bra/dp/B005X5FG2O?
Most bras use the UK sizing when you are in the post DD size. There are a few exceptions.
Bravissimo has huge selection, as well as figleaves and amazon carries a lot of them. If you want to try on IRL nordstrom will carry your size in most stores.
If memory serves (see i dont even remember because UK sizing is king) 32K = 32H which is one band and cupsize larger than me. You have a lot of options but for me i prefer panache (particularly cleo which is a sister brand) bras mainly because they cater to smaller bands and deep (vs wide) cups.
Next step is figuring out you breast shape and trying on bras. Fyi after 20yrs of cramming myself into too small bras my initial size worked until i had the mythical “tissue migration” and went up like an extra cup size so i would warn you about buying a ton of bras initially because boobs can sometimes inflate after years of being compressed ;)
I really like the panache cleo marcie, its been my goto for several years (and sizes) now. But i probably tried on tons of sizes and styles over the years. But if you are full on top its a great place to start and has come in a rainbow of colors over the years.
Amazon isnt a bad place to start ordering bras because of free ship and returns and there are lots of shapes and styles.
Try a few and post fit results here (you dont have to post pics, just this fit great in this way but didnt work because of this...)
Odds are good you will need a deep cup vs a shallow one because generally H cups are. So panache is a good place to start. Freya is another brand (i found the bands were not firm enough when i tried them, but this was years ago) bravissimo has their own line of bras, curvy kate makes bras in your size (ive never tried them as ive heard they run wide and shallower, but i cant say for sure)
You can literally search 32H bras on amazon and scroll through options.
Goddess comes in US sizing, and a couple other brands but UK tends to be the popular big boob bras. The brits definitely have us beat bigtime on better bras ;)
https://www.amazon.com/Panache-Womens-Underwire-Sports-Bra/dp/B005X5FG2O
These can be pretty compressing so i preferred going up a size ie 32H when i wear a 30H in other bras, but id start with your size and go up if you need to. Just be aware of sister sizing. Ie 30H = 32GG = 28HH. Go up a band go down a cup, and down a band go up a cup.
So 32H = 34GG is one band bigger but same cup. Confusing but bras can be ;)
https://www.amazon.com/Panache-Cleo-Marcie-Balconnet-Bra/dp/B00BKZXPZ6
https://www.amazon.com/Panache-6951-Jasmine-Underwire-Bra/dp/B01N9DCFV7
Id highly recommend using a unlined cup bra like marcie or jasmine to find correct fit. Lots of girls want/are used to foam cup bras but they dont mold to you like a “cut and sew” bra and make it hard to diagnose fitting issues. There are some foam cup and spacer options out there in your size but id start with the inlined for fitting purposes first.
Check out bravissimo’s site too and filter by your size. The options will for sure blow your mind ;)
One like this? http://www.amazon.com/Panache-Womens-Underwired-Sports-Bra/dp/B005X5FG2O
My experience with sports bras and gymnastics (which has it's own 360 concerns) has led me to search for the elusive racerback encapsulation DD+ bra. Racerbacks are only style I get support, good distribution of pressure and full range of motion in, while encapsulation personally feels much more comfortable then compression. Both the Panache Sport and Freya Active (which are very popular, so give them a try too) have j-hooks which are completely inadequate and a bit flimsy.
I've temporarily settled on the Bendon Extreme Sport. It's a cup size small for me (only goes up to a G, alas!), but the best fit I've found: great top and side support, convertible straps for a true racerback and really strange wires (they have a sort of swoosh shape when worn) that somehow work. Worth a spot on your list for sure.

::all of the hugs:: I'm so sorry to hear about your Grandmothers. My family just had to go throught that with my Grandma's sister, who was just another Grandma to me. Her children and grandchildren are all drug adicts and/or teen parents so they were not taking care of her at all. All of her life she had been so frugal and taken such good care of her finances just so if something like this would happen to her, she would be cared for. However, her eldest grandson (my cousin) took her money and spent it all on meth/coke (we aren't exactly sure which) and pot, so all she had was my parents and my brother and I to take care of her with the limited resources that we had. It broke our hearts to watch he get worse and worse as she'd forget things and not know where she was. Alzheimers is the worst. I'm so sorry that your family is going through that.
You are a saint for helping to take care of your sister and her family at the same time that you're trying to take care of your grandmothers. Being "the responsible one" in one's family is really hard. :(
Right now what's stressing me out is my birth mother. I got a phone call on my birthday, of all days, letting me know that her alcoholic husband (she's an alcoholic too, I'm pretty sure that's why she married him) attacked her- though considering the physical abuse she meted out to my Dad and I, I'm sure her husband probably did not throw the first punch and is probably a while lot worse off than her right now- that she's getting a restraining order, and moving in with my (other) Grandma in the same town as me. She's an alcoholic, and abusive, and has more than one DSM-V defined mental illnesses and after 11 years of no contact, she wants a relationship with me.
The worst thing is that her mom is constantly guilt-tripping me to re-establish a relationship with her and Ican't do it. But my Grandmother is also paying for my school and I have over $10,000 due by 8/14. I'm so scared. I don't know what to do :(
::hugs:: and good luck. I hope it all gets better like you deserve. OM me if you ever want to talk.
Also, thank you for the contest- you really are a saint.

I am an English teacher at an urban, low-income high school in the city, and one of my students, one of my BEST most AMAZING students, a really respectful girl who cares about her future and her grades and got ME dinner at her work one day after school after I gave her a ride there, came bouncing into the room telling me she really wanted the new Kelly Rolland CD, and how I should buy it for her. She wasn't being greedy, she's just like that. She doesn't really expect me to get it for her, but I'd like to, anyway!!!

That one's actually 28.94 if you price match amazon
Picking up a Timex Weekender from Amazon.
Could use some suggestions on which one to pick up and which additional straps to buy. Must be from Amazon due to shipping.
The Weekender sounds right, but it's only 38mm across, not 40mm (at least according to http://www.amazon.com/Timex-Unisex-T2P1429J-Weekender-Yellow/dp/B00B2I167K)
I have this one. In case the link doesn't work as I intend, it's the one with the blue and yellow nylon strap. That face is more casual, because of the relatively large numbers (and the fact that they are there at all). Plus, with this watch it is easy to replace the extant strap with [other nato straps] (https://www.amazon.com/CIVO-Premium-Ballistic-Stainless-Buckle/dp/B07FW1GT9D/ref=sr_1_10?crid=D11QHD23Q1G2&keywords=nato+watch+strap&qid=1556211841&s=apparel&sprefix=nato+%2Cfashion%2C449&sr=1-10) to keep things fresh or to better match specific outfits.
I feel like a Timex Weekender is a pretty common suggestion for an inexpensive watch, and it definitely works on small wrists. I think I've seen them go on sale for as low as $20 on Amazon.
I recommend you strap up with this baby https://smile.amazon.com/Casio-MQ24-1E-Black-Resin-Watch/dp/B000GAWSHM/
Or if you really want to ball out, Timex weekender is a classic https://smile.amazon.com/Timex-Unisex-T2P142-Weekender-Slip-Thru/dp/B00B2I167K/
If you want something simple, classy, and inexpensive, I'm a fan of a Timex Weekender. They usually come with a cloth strap, but this one is listed with a leather one, or you can buy a leather one for it and a tool to switch it out with and still be at half the cost of the ones you linked.
Nope regular
[this is the exact one](Timex Unisex T2P495 Weekender Oversize Brown Leather Slip-Thru Strap Watch https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LW3RCW8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_QASrzbE1MGZY8)
Yeah, the Weekender is the one I ended up getting. I really like it, it fulfills the two tasks I require of a watch: 1) telling time and 2) not looking terrible. It's cheap enough (not $15 like I originally said, I paid $35) that you don't really even need to get it repaired, you could just buy another one. If it has sentimental value for you though, you do you.
A cheap, reliable, do it all watch is timex. The straps are easily replaceable so you can buy straps to customize a little too. R/watches hails rolex, timex and seiko as the ideal 3 brands. Timex being the cheapest, rolex being the most expensive obviously.
Edit: This is the particular watch I'm talking about.
Timex Unisex T2P495 Weekender Oversize Brown Leather Slip-Thru Strap Watch https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LW3RCW8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_RcVwzbZB3F0Y2
It's reliable, light, easy to read, crazy comfortable and keeps time better than almost anything else i own and it's cheap. Plus the leather strap matches everything.
I work in a pizza place and the cornmeal has destroyed far "nicer" watches in short time. This thing has lasted through daily use for a year now though.
yeah it's this one.
Which one of the buckeled straps would be closest in color to this?
I ordered this Timex Weekender with a leather strap yesterday after about a year of having a black Weekender. The Weekender is more casual than a Fairfield I think but you can't beat it for $33 (and Amazon Prime free shipping).
If you can afford it, buy some decent wrist watches and display them in a modified red igloo container with pretty lining with a note that says "Thanks for watching after me."
I like this watch design, but that's my personal opinion.
Thank you for the detailed post on buying guide , $0 to $250. I have hardly used any watches before. Based on the guide I have decided to buy a Quartz watch. My budget is $100. Help me decide a watch from the list below. Thanks.

I'm looking to buy a watch that I can use everyday -formal,casual setting with minimal maintenance. I haven't used a watch in years so there may be times when I won't use a watch. Based on the buying guide, I feel a Quartz watch may be better suited for me than an Automatic. I can't really finalize a watch from the list. Your advice/recommendations will help!
I was actually about to pick up this Timex before I saw the Citizen. However there were more than a few reviews stating that the watch was excessively loud, something that I'd really like to avoid.
the boots are definitely great!
you should look at getting a timex weekender or similar. 32 bucks or so. can't beat that. it'll go with a lot and you can change the NATO strap to match your outfit.
regarding the cardigan, it looks like the shoulder seems fall a little outside the shoulder. the only reason i think you could go down one size. doesn't look bad at all... just nitpicking, i suppose.
ninja edit: i'd also get your jeans one size longer on your next purchase... that'll allow you to roll the cuff (IMO, looks great on a longer jean) and you can always have them hemmed if you don't like the length.
Am I going to need to size up/down on the mossimo tees if the uniqlo premium tees in xs fit me perfect?
Ninja edit: Also does this watch have a slip through strap to where I can change the bands?

Make sure you fit yourself properly first. Once you find your size, figure out your shape - different bra shapes will support different boob shapes, surprisingly. I've heard really good things about this bra though: http://www.amazon.com/Panache-Womens-Underwired-Sports-Bra/dp/B005X5FG2O/ref=cts_ap_1_fbt
Recently bought a Timex Weekender off of amazon for $44. Not exactly my cup of tea, and didn't buy it recently enough to be return it. I've worn it 2 times and there's nothing wrong with it. The face appears off white in this picture because of the lighting, it's actually white. Comes with the standard brown genuine leather strap. $35 shipped, no paypal fees if you go friends and family.
here is another good alternative from Timex.
I personally love my gold and silver watch. Got it from a recommendation on here. http://www.amazon.com/Timex-T20011-Reader-Brown-Leather/dp/B0000TII00/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1319302319&sr=8-3
I'ts not as nice as that one but I've gotten a lot of compliments on it.
I've actually been thinking about getting one of the Timex watches, can't decide between the

I was shopping for watches this morning!
I think I'm going to get the Timex Easy Reader because of its simple design and clean lines. Plus, it's sub-$30.
However, I'm also drooling over this Kate Spade watch that I can in no way afford.
EDIT: Also, it looks like the timex watch is brass, not nickel.
Hi I have small wrists as well, I just purchased a Timex Easyreader, http://www.amazon.com/Timex-T20041-Reader-Brown-Leather/dp/B000B55AEA/ref=sr_1_3?s=watches&ie=UTF8&qid=1310176569&sr=1-3, along with the NATO bond strap, http://www.amazon.com/Ballistic-Nylon-Watchband-Black-Stripes/dp/B0047MQMR2/ref=sr_1_1?s=watches&ie=UTF8&qid=1310176615&sr=1-1, total is like 40 bucks and it looks great! the face is 35mm, perfect for smaller wrists like ours, hope this helps.
This Timex
I just bought this the other day and am really loving it. Simple, yet elegant. Only drawback is fairly loud ticking that's noticeable at night when you're sleeping.
You're welcome.
Seiko makes a version of the Seiko 5 that looks very similar and is an automatic, so you don't have to worry about battery life.
I'd go this route: http://www.amazon.com/Seiko-Black-Stainless-Automatic-SNZF17/dp/B001IBF15Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1451888651&sr=8-1&keywords=seiko+snzf17
You could wear nipple covers, since in the US cops mostly care about the nip being exposed.
They are also known as pasties, they are silicone, self-adhesive and brand new they are pretty damn sticky. Prices range on amazon from 8-15 bux for a single pair. I bought these and they stayed on for 12 hours without any inclination of a hint that they might unstick themselves.
I don’t have any straps yet, but will probably be getting many, as well. I didn’t even think about this until you asked. It’s a great question, and I looked around and found this. I’ll probably get one, or something similar as there seems to be quite a few options (strap cases with clear display lids, etc.)

This Invicta diver works great on the steel band it comes with, and I personally think a weathered brown leather strap would look great too.
It's a pretty clear "homage" to the Rolex submariner, but for the price you're getting a pretty good quality automatic movement in a watch that looks great with anything from jeans + t shirt to business casual.
If you want something more minimal and are willing to ditch the steel bracelet, then this Timex is a great option. I've got one that's still ticking on its original battery after about 10 years. They're bone simple bulletproof watches that look good with any outfit.
Looks legit to me, but I think it's a bit much for a quartz movement.

that's a respectable watch, less expensive, automatic and has a somewhat similar look.
Weekender
It is, basically. I think my position all along was "okay we have notifications at least, but eventually we'll get some other goodies," so perhaps I was set up for disappointment.
"Nice" is relative, of course, but the Orange Monster is pretty highly regarded by watch geeks and runs $250.
