>Why does there have to be "a war" against everything?

It is being overused... But the general original concept goes as follows:

>When a "war" is declared on something, it means that the protagonists will not accept a negotiated settlement and that only the accomplishment of their goal will be an acceptable outcome.

This is a bit like when the Germans wanted to reach out to the Allies in the final days of the Second World War under the delusion that the Allies would accept a negotiated end of the war in order to save the lives of their soldiers. That didn't work as the Allies would only accept an unconditional surrender... The Allies were "at war" with Nazi Germany and would not settle for anything else than complete victory and the destruction of the Nazi apparatus.

But the "war" on drugs that aimed to eliminate all illegal drugs with no exception has failed, with pot legalization making huge headway lately, we can see that wars can also be lost.

A "war" on single use plastic though is winnable through the complete elimination of those through a replacement scheme with new (and old) technologies and containers that are more respectful of the environment.

No so long ago, crackers at the grocery store came in thin cardboard boxes with bags made of waxed paper.

Meats were cut in front of the customers and were wrapped in reddish waxed paper.

All liquides were contained in glass bottles and some mustard and other condiments were sold in glass containers that doubled as mugs and drinking glasses once empty and cleaned.

So even if the term "war on something" is overused and has lost much of its meaning, it still conveys an idea of unshakable determination.

I made this with

1/2 Tbsp Veggie Bacon bits - my favorite!

3 Tbsp Daiya cheeze sauce - This is better than the Daiya cheeze shreds. I do not like the shreds, but I can definitely recommend this sauce.

56 grams Fiber Gourmet Light Elbow pasta

broccoli, salt, & pepper

LPT: you can tighten it up even more. All you really need is the dp (stands for detail page) and the ASIN (Amazon stock ID).

Biscoff Spread is the most amazing thing in the history of the universe! I splooshed when I found out there was a crunchy kind as well as smooth.

u/pdilme92 · 10 pointsr/ketorecipes

LPT: Whenever copy & pasting an amazon link you can delete everything after the / before "ref" The actual link is:

https://www.amazon.com/Hughes-Sugar-Free-Ketchup-Pack/dp/B0764MMC32/

Everything after ref, if i'm not mistaken, is just for Amazon to determine how you got to the page.

Get your 6-pack on at Amazon. Or just move to Portland; it's made here.

I ended up getting mine from Amazon. So much better than regular mayo.

u/emmadunkirk · 3 pointsr/veganrecipes

I went to Amazon to get the link and saw they are out of stock of the brand I use.
Vegan Fish Sauce | VFish | British Food Products | 5fl oz. (150ml) | MSG Seasoning | Vegetarian & Vegan Gifts | Seaweed Based Gift | Fish-Free Fish Sauce https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D4LFMGD/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_oHfRDb6BE4FM7

They have another brand but it's too expensive in my opinion. Link at bottom. So I suggest this instead.
Yondu Vegetable Umami - Premium Plant-based Seasoning Sauce - All-Purpose Instant Flavor Boost, Better Than: Fish Sauce, Soy Sauce, Bouillon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075KGRBTM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_hJfRDbB3RBQ7E

Here's the link to the one Amazon has in stock but pricey
Vegan Fysh Sauce (Vegan Fish Sauce Made with Seaweed) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DINZQGI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_BJfRDbEQ2X67X

u/OddJackdaw · 3 pointsr/samthecookingguy

It has a slightly more aggressive flavor than normal mayo. When tasted on it's own, you can definitely tell the difference, but I can't really tell the difference once I add all the other sandwich ingredients.

Personally, I will save my money for Colman's mustard. That is easily worth the extra price. Or plenty of other places to spend more money before Kewpie.

That said, if you want to try it, you can get it from Amazon for $0.01 less than the store in the OP.

  • Hamburgers/cheeseburgers without the bun. Even if you don't want to make your own burgers, there's a ton of options for pre-made ones, very easy to grill or pan fry them up.
  • Low-carb tortillas (3g net carbs per tortilla). Pretty versatile and good for essentially any meal. I've been having them for breakfast lately with scrambled eggs, cheese and hot sauce. Also good for making low carb pizzas.
  • Good old eggs and bacon.
  • I like the Bird's Eye Steamfresh veggies for when I'm in a pinch. Creamed spinach is probably one of my favourites, broccoli and cauliflower is also pretty good. They also make stuff like mashed and riced cauliflower. Very convenient since I can just do it in the microwave.
  • Taco salads. Ground beef is super cheap and you can just toss in some taco seasoning. Add in your avocado, cheese, sour cream, hot sauce, salsa and its pretty tasty.
  • Chicken thighs. They're cheaper than breasts and much more forgiving when it comes to overcooking. They don't dry out as much as a breast would, and they're much tastier. I usually pan fry mine in some olive oil or something along those lines.
  • Get yourself a grill pan and you can do any number of proteins or veggies on the stove.
  • Always keep a ton of snacks around. Nuts, beef jerky, cheese (string cheese or stuff like Baby Bel), peanut butter etc. can be life savers.
  • Make your own dip with ranch or French onion seasoning packets. I mix them in with some sour cream and cream cheese and have those with veggies, especially stuff like celery. The ranch is also pretty good as a seasoning for chicken or shrimp.
  • Chili. Really easy to do in the slow cooker and there are tons of recipes out there. Also keeps pretty well long term so it's a nice one to do and then portion out and maybe freeze for later.

    Edit: spelling

I have never seen their half-gallon. All I have seen is their 34 ounce (~1/4 of a gallon). Though I just discovered they do sell a 1.1 gallon version. I didn't realise others besides Tabasco made gallon hot sauce jugs.

u/alittleperil · 2 pointsr/TrollXChromosomes

speculoos cookie butter is essentially a spread made from crushed gingerbread-like cookies and a binding agent like vegetable oil. If that sounds tasty to you (obviously it will, it's spice cookies in butter form) then how good is amazon at shipping stuff to you?

u/dandeliondreamer · 2 pointsr/bullcity

Ah, Kewpie is delicious! You can get it on Amazon here. Free shipping with Prime.

I use this in a lot of sauces I make.

Palmer: I suggest you buy a jar of this mustard. I can't keep it in my fridge because I eat half the jar with a spoon.

u/kirker187 · 2 pointsr/ketorecipes

I found this ketchup on Amazon that has about 1 carb per serving (about 1oz).

u/Chorizbro · 2 pointsr/worldnews

Friend, you sound like another mayo lover. Let me change your world. Get some of this crazy delicious stuff. Even my Costco carries it now, what a time to be alive!

I am not a professional at this, but I have had success making cheese omlettes. Like I would take three eggs and crack them into a bowl and beat them before cooking them on the stove. I also add in shredded cheese to said bowl and mix as well, or other things I may want to add, like bacon bits. After mixing and beating it how I like it, then I cook on a non-stick skillet which has been lined with a coating of melted butter (I drop a few chunks of butter on it, and as it melts move the chunks around until coated).

Although, /u/KneeDeepThought/ seems to have even better tips and experience about this, I will try my future omelets like who they outlined.

I used "Sir Kensington's Avocado Oil Mayo" and can verify it worked brilliantly. I can't say it tasted any different from any other Mayo, but it certainly worked well. https://www.amazon.com/Sir-Kensingtons-Avocado-Oil-Mayonnaise/dp/B01DP28C22/ref=asc_df_B01DP28C22/

I did the research (hardcore amazon search type) and thought I would share.

Beaver Brand Jalapeno Mustard, 13-Ounce Squeezable Bottles (Pack of 6) $18.48

This stuff looks amazing by the way, it will be part of my next purchase.

u/Pidgeoned · 1 pointr/JapaneseFood

Probably this. It's becoming more popular recently and you can find it at some regular grocery stores.

u/Actualhumandisaster · 1 pointr/vegan

I always get this and I absolutely love it.

I buy french mustard on Amazon. Just bought this, it was a little cheaper when I bought it. But I got a jug of regular Amora dijon a few months ago and it is the best dijon I've ever had. I also got some coarse grained Maille, It's good stuff, but I like the Amora even better. All of it is clearly from the source. (French labels, etc.)
