Not overly. Gold is super malleable so it can be made hella thin.

48 Rolls Washi Tape Set,Foil Gold Skinny Decorative Masking Washi Tapes,3MM Wide DIY Masking Tape https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0782SBNBR?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf
Sure,
well theres three types of labels, printed cans( cant do anything with )
Wraps ( plastic that has a seam) you can cut these but you have to cut the seam and then snip the top and bottom ring area then it will flatten.
Adhesive labels. ( these work best)
I try to use the edge of an xacto knife or even a fingernail on a part of the label that i know ill maybe trim a hair off of anyway , so that it hides any crinkling.
there are a few companies that its just impossible to get the labels off of, some bottles like Founders, or cans like aslin, dont work well , usually bigger bottles work good though. Prairie works great. I recommend these magnet sheets,
https://www.amazon.com/Craftopia-Magnetic-Adhesive-Anything-Flexible/dp/B071L97W57/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1525196048&sr=8-3&keywords=magnet+sheets
and i use xacto knives and a craft mat like this one, https://www.amazon.com/Alvin-Professional-Self-Healing-Cutting-GBM1218/dp/B0015AOIYI/ref=sr_1_4?s=arts-crafts&ie=UTF8&qid=1525196109&sr=1-4&keywords=craft%2Bcutting%2Bmat&dpID=51gR%252BOrM3WL&preST=_SX300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch&th=1
so you dont cut through it to the table youre on etc, the key to making your cuts nice and clean is putting a good amount of pressure during your cut and cutting fairly slowly.
use a straight edge, use metal rulers, plan out the size of the label, peel it off the can or bottle and affix it adhesive side down on the adhesive side of the magnetic backing. then just square off your edges with cuts and bingo instant fridge magnet.
You can also do it with brewery stickers as well.
You can find that exact tape here or here, it also tells you the length of the roll which is 4 meters. An A5 size paper is 210 mm on the long side so you could line 19 pages on the long side with a roll of the tape.

Kai brand shears, affordable and really really good. Source: Spent four years in textile industry, used nothing but these.
I made my own magnet using this and this.
Console/Mixer Marking Tape
Thanks! I have a bunch of large thick sheets of styrofoam and a good selection of small Xacto knives (http://www.amazon.com/Xacto-X5282-Basic-Knife-Set/dp/B00004Z2UB).
I can't give any tips other than just make sure you plan ahead. In my case I went for a very damaged and abandoned look, so any cutting mistakes would only make it better.
Near the end my dad made an electric styrofoam cutter for me (Basically a wire in between a coping saw with a current going through it). This made cutting thin bits significantly easier and faster, but most of what you see here has been done with the knifes.
I also advice to go with ISO 90 type Styrofoam, as this is much more compressed and will likely look a lot better. I used ISO 60 Styrofoam here, as I could not find 90.
Just take your time, be patient, and it will all work out!
I personally really dig nature-themed washi tape. I own these ones and they're stunning as hell. These are also great and inspire themes for me all the time. I also own this tape and I'm obsessed with it.
Just Google whatever theme you want + washi tape and you'll find plenty of options.
Edit: holy shit "gothic washi tape" yielded some kick ass results too.
To be fair, gold leaf is only like 0.1 micrometers thick. So that’s only like $1-$2 of gold right there
source
I see you're being recommended a lot of multitool options, but I've had a folding pair myself for 15 years (same kind my seamstress mom used) and they've yet to fail me... Slip-n-Snip
Ok, #1 that is the coolest idea on the planet! There is no better money you could spend on a gift for a sewer. Especially one without decent scissors. (or shears or cutters or whatever).
I use Gingher and Kai. Both are great but Kai is definitely easier on the hands. I've got 67 year old hands that are in good shape but not in 30 year old shape.
These Kai Shears are the ones I use (and love) every day. They aren't as expensive as you want to spend so might I suggest adding these embroidery scissors? They are so very handy and the larger finger holes make it much easier for old hands to get them working efficiently.
Seriously, this is just the nicest idea.
I haven't tried moleskin, but I love this stick on suede. It's not $2 but it's not $30 either if you have prime.
Maybe something like this?
Or these if they're not too.. girly? I think they're nice.
Are you using duct tape on your pedals there? I'm definitely going to suggest getting some masking tape or even some console tape because duct tape has burned me too many times with its awful residue.
You need some new scissors. Recommended.
I don't particularly like hoops for framing. I use this type of sticky mounting board and regular frames, possibly from thrift shops or eBay. Wrap excess fabric to the back, or cut if off flush with the edge if the frame hides it well enough.
Typically you just use long stitches to "lace" the edges of the fabric tightly across the back of whatever it is being mounted on. For gifts framed in hoops you can sew or glue on a felt circle to cover the back tidily and to protect the wall.
Material for counted thread types of embroidery is much cheaper bought as large pieces. Other embroidery does fine on most closely woven fabrics (but preferably one where you can massage accidental needle holes into invisibility). Pre-shrink it if necessary -- unless you frame the piece under glass it may need some sort of wash/wipe in future.
If you are spending lots of inspiration and lots of hours on a piece, buying good fabric is justified. An evening embroidering is still a very cheap evening compared with many other hobbies or ways of spending your time.
Cool idea! Never heard of this tape before.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XNJH7YK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_NRJhAbCFMYTXC
I would not recommend the citadel tools. They are quite expensive compared to other brands. I would recommend something like this. The mold line remover I think is unnecessary. You can just as easily remove mold lines using the back edge of a hobby knife blade. the file set might be nice to have, but again, there are cheaper options.
Unless you're really committed to spending your money at that one store or whatever, I recommend checking hobby lobby (or whatever your local equivalent is) for tools and equipment. Don't buy cheap, but don't buy expensive, either. haha.
I've never owned a pair of these so I can't speak to the quality, but the reviews look positive and their cheap enough to try out (IMHO). However, I'm not sure how heavy duty a scissor your looking for. These might be worth looking into.
Here
Found a chrome pair as well.
Here is a video of them. (not much of a video).
Edit: Came across these as well.
Edit 2: Just found these, they are made by kershaw which is always nice, and they sound a lot like what you were describing in the OP. Video here. Seems they come in black as well.
this stuff?
$10 for 30 sheets sounds like a great novelty. If someone starts complaining about their financial situation around me, I'll just pull a pack out of my wallet and start eating the sheets.
No, but you can buy 10 of them for 7 bucks.
Oh no, there goes my paycheck. I can't pass up a good deal on washi. This is a really cool set that I use for detailed work. It's really thin so you can do some unique things with it. Sticks well, too! If it's on an outer envelope, I usually hide the ends under a stamp or sticker just to be safe.
The Shur-tape linked below would be just fine- Pretty much anything sold as console tape should work well.
https://www.amazon.com/Shurtape-P-724-Console-Mixer-Marking/dp/B00CTWEY9K/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1499112407&sr=8-2&keywords=console+tape
If he is a big warhammer collector and painter then it may not be a good idea to get him a random model as he may already have it or dislike that particular model. I'd suggest that you consider putting several smaller things in a box for him.
Here are some alternatives to an individual model that he may enjoy:
-Primers and paints (you can buy the GW brand paints, but I'd recommend Vallejo). A mix of metal paints (copper, brass, gold, silver, steel) would be a nice gift. And every painter always needs black so that would be a nice thing to add on.
-Paint brushes. A few very fine brushes would be helpful. Look for sizes 0, 5/0 and 10/0.
-If you know that he airbrushes you could buy him a bottle of 70 isp alcohol to add to any grouping of things you give him.
-Warhammer books are always a nice gift. If you can tell us if he collects Warhammer 40K (scifi) or Warhammer (medieval aesthetic) we can recommend books.
-Something like this would be a nice gift for him if he puts together a lot of models: http://www.amazon.com/Xacto-X5282-Basic-Knife-Set/dp/B00004Z2UB/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1415106833&sr=8-2&keywords=xacto
-A warhammer themed t shirt (you can find them on etsy and ebay).
It looks to me a bit more like cloth than paper, but either way, you can see the design wraps around the edges of the book, so the design is on whatever the wrapped their cover boards in. I can't tall you whether this was custom made or commercially bought, but it wouldn't be too hard to make something similar yourself:
Alternatively, you could just get paint in the metallic color you like and stripe it on yourself. These lines don't look perfectly uniform, so i wouldn't be surprised if someone just took 15 minutes to paint it all on by hand with a paintbrush.
I have these to travel with. Slip-N-Snip The Original Folding Safety Scissors (1, 13 IN) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005J091G0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_bVCNDbM6HN77K they fold and unfold very easily, but don't accidentally come loose.
Goo Gone works for all sticky stuff.

Slip-n-Snip folding scissors. They're amazing: https://www.amazon.com/Slip-N-Snip-Original-Folding-Safety-Scissors/dp/B005J091G0
So it's $5 for two rolls or you could go on Amazon and get 48 rolls of 3mm washi tape for $7.79 or 24 Rolls of 15mm Washi Tape for $10.95
I actually did this with a pair of raws that had a large crotch blowout a few years ago. I used Tear Mender as recommended in this PTO post and it worked out surprisingly well. I wore my raws nearly every day for a full year after that and there were no signs of it falling apart, so I expect the adhesive would last a very long time, if not the entire lifespan of the jeans. The only thing I will warn you about is if you use too much (like I did) the adhesive might soak through the fabric and be visible on the outside. All you have to do is scrape it off (I used a dull knife) before it sets completely and it'll be gone.

Return your keys to their QWERTY position. Get a set of 1/4” high letter stickers and put them on the forward edge (front side) of the key rather than on the top. Something like this .
Alternatively, once you’re ready, pick up a mechanical keyboard with Cherry MX keycaps andswap the keycaps. The Kinesis Freestyle Edge RGB is my current recommendation.

This is excessive and wasteful, but putting it on a burger and selling it for $100 or whatever is just duping gullible rich people. It's like (at most) $5 worth of gold on a $12 burger.
Gold foil sheets are actually not outrageously priced. Here's an example from Amazon 25 sheets for $43 bucks.
Gold gilded sheets are even less expensive, 100 for $13, not much more expensive than any other kind of fancy decorative supply.
That's a good suggestion, thanks!
My bumper is probably not magnetic, but I'll put a couple on magnetic sheets so I can move them around my car just for the heck of it. Easy to remove so I can store it away if some jerk wants to steal them.
Here's one I'll get, which should be able to fit six bumper stickers. (non-affiliate link)

The glue sticks are cheap. You can pick them up 30 of them at most stores like Walmart, or on Amazon for $5.00 or less. I used maybe 3 sticks while making the sword I talk about below.
I actually got this glue gun on Amazon for $9 and I really like i because it has a small tip, an on/off switch and it came with 30 sticks (https://www.amazon.com/ccbetter-Upgraded-Removable-Anti-hot-Flexible/dp/B01178RVI2/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_60_bs_t_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=8C7YNR2TC2S6CP1WJ8C2)

I finished my 2nd attempt at pepp'ing a world of warcraft sword (http://www.papercraftsquare.com/a-full-size-world-of-warcraft-sword-papercraft-free-template-download.html) only this time I used hot glue instead of just plain white glue and it went much better, especially the difficult joints like where the hilt meets the sword.
I think it was similar to what you are facing where the hilt is. I would put just a drop or 2 of glue on the tab then stick it to the matching end. The glue dries in only a few seconds so it bonded well. Like I mentioned before, when I messed it up, I would put the tip of the glue gun on the joint to melt the glue the try again.

Hope this helps. If you have more questions, I am happy to help.
Another great place to ask pep questions are therpf.com. I am building a complete stormtrooper armor and this site has been an awesome resource for me.
I've never used E-Tape, nor did I ever see it used when I worked for a few production companies in the midwest... maybe its a regional thing? We always used actual "Board Tape" like this https://www.amazon.com/Shurtape-P-724-Console-Mixer-Marking/dp/B00CTWEY9K
Here is my solution to this problem - puma shoes with DIY suede stickers from amazon.

Can you describe exactly what you are looking for? Replacement keycaps with custom letters/fonts/designs? Stickers? You can get stickers from most places such as eBay or Amazon. You can put them on the top, front or anywhere on the keycap. You can also order vinyl letters from online stores. Usually they cut the vinyl for the letters so you can just roll your face on the keyboard to get every letter and symbol. You may have to type out words such as Enter, Shift, Backspace, Ctrl, Alt, etc.
I have no knowledge of which of these are "the good stuff" but this will give you an idea of what i mean.

If you do use an iron-on type thing, you might set the fray with Bish's Tear Mender glue if the fabric is not ripstop or if the abrasion goes through a sewed seam.
I like Goo Gone for this sort of thing.
Good Job! Remember there are no rules in quilting except have fun. I like your fabric choices. And if that's your first block, you're a natural.
I read another comment about mistakes; no one will notice them unless you point them out. Also, in Japanese art, there is a thing called wabi-sabi which is sometimes brought about by an "intentional mistake" to demonstrate that the art was made by a human hand. Something too rigid in it's lines can be cold and unfeeling. (wabi-sabi can also be about finding the beauty in naturally aged and worn objects.) Beauty is in the worn spots and imperfect lines.
PS, if you're looking for really sharp scissors ever, KAI, they make different scissors for cutting fabric or nipping threads. These are great if you ever get into doing a hawaiian quilt where you cut through 8 layers of fabric for the design.

You can buy thin sheets of magnet and cut it to whatever size or shape you want. Now as far as affixing the photos I would try a few things and see what works best.
Edit: found an Amazon link if you like that sort of thing. I get bored at work some one should benefit.

Maybe this or this mixed with silver glitter I couldn't find anything exactly right so that's the best DIY fix I can think of. Good luck
Try this stuff to get the sticky gunk out after you figure out how to take the actual grip off. It's all natural ingredients and oil based, so it doesn't damage your board. I don't actually know how to take the tape off though. Good luck!

A lot thinner, but bigger
Washi tape is a decorative tape that many people use to embellish cards. Here is some on Amazon , but it can be found at (US) stores like Dollar Tree, Target, Walmart, Tuesday Morning, Hobby Lobby, Michaels etc. People also find it online at sites like Wish and Aliexpress. Sometimes people on the sub send samples, thats how I first got some. Is it a must have, well I thought not but now that I have used it I kinda love it. Pinterest examples of Washi use
Goo Gone will remove those stickers, leaving a nice shine, in 1 minute.

Get something like Tear Mender, there should be something like it at a fabric/hobby store, any epoxy would probably work but getting something designed for fabric that is flexible when it sets is probably highly preferred.
I would do a quick stick of the tear with some weather resistant thread or even dental floss works really good, this will just hold the seam together as the epoxy drys; if you give it 12 hours to dry in a warm area with air moving over it you should be good to go.
Yes. You can also get them pre cut, but I prefer cutting myself for a better fit.

When I did crosstich years ago I would buy this sticky board thing to mount it. I'm talking over 20 years ago so I don't remember if that was its intended use or not.
It was thin but fairly sturdy, iy was sticky enough to hold for framing but it was forgiving if you needed to reposition your work.
Check in the framing department of your craft store.

HERE is a pretty good option. When I worked at a frame shop, people would come in with their cross-stitch and we would use self-adhesive boards like this. If I were you, I would find a self-adhesive board that is approx 1" smaller than your paper, so the edges of the paper would still show. Alternatively, you could just custom cut a piece of foam core and use white glue.

Not sure how viable this one is but I worked with the Glyphs software before and it is amazing. I had it for mac, it allows you to make your own fonts.
You could also have a letter in his favourite font 3d printed which is really cool. I think it would be roughly $40 for something about “2x”2x”1.
Lastly if you could get him some oldschool Letraset sheets. Chartpak 1000 Vinyl Letters and Numbers -20 Numbers, 569 Capital Letter -0.3-Inch -Black

The second link is edible while the top one is not, not sure which one would be safer to use for a cosmetic purpose (if either of them even are safe for that, lol). Not sure if this is helpful at all but here you go!

I use this stuff for many things. Not strong magnetism though. Depends on what you're after. For me weak magnetism is perfect.

I mean ... it says right in the description ...
> Each rose is carefully crafted with high-quality gold foil.
Leaf gold is really cheap because it is quite literally a few atoms thick only. So these prices do not surprise me.
PS:
Example ... 30 sheets of leaf gold cost you 20 USD, and wholesale you could probably get them even cheaper.way cheaper exampleReplace that masking tape with this:

Awesome bag collection. I've been turning my bags into refrigerator magnets and covering the fridge. Looks pretty cool. Just get some of this: https://www.amazon.com/Craftopia-Magnetic-Adhesive-Anything-Flexible/dp/B071L97W57/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1520867044&sr=8-2&keywords=magnetic+sticky+sheets
and cut to whatever shape you want.
As soon as damage starts to appear, patch it. The easiest way to do so would be using Tear Mender, since it requires no sewing knowledge and only limited competence of any sort. Put a little bit on a hard surface, then apply a thin coat with your finger to the affected area and to the patch and press the two together. Buying better denim will help, but blowouts happen even on nicer jeans.
Thanks. That's too bad, it would be pretty cool if you could do custom orders, or even if you could request specific game pallets. Though now that I think about it, I bet this wouldn't even be too difficult of a DIY product, if you can get large blank magnet sheets. This looks like it would work. Just need to figure out how to best color them, and how to reproduce the colors I want accurately.
This looks like what he had on Amazon, $30.

This will also help, thanks to recent developments in the popular understanding of vampires.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This shit doesn't come off. Ever. Please think very very carefully if you really want to be a 'modern' vampire or not because the process is irreversible.

Hey with all this craptastic fighting, why not use a hot glue gun to keep the VRM heatsinks down. Make sure you get the proper temperature glue, nothing is gonna melt that :)
