My suggestion for marketing wouldn't be to use FB but Ravelry. FYI, Ravelry ads are the only ads I ever click on.

You can buy a really cheap set of crochets or a really cheap set of double-pointed needles on Amazon, arrange them in the Strapbook, and design an ad for Ravelry.

Clover Soft Touch. If you're in America, you can get them at Michaels. Buy one with a 50% off coupon, it will change your life. The hook isn't aluminum and the yarn slides over the hook so smoothly it's magical - even splitty yarn like Lily Sugar n Creme or Caron Simply Soft is a breeze to work with. The handle is really ergonomic - I went from pain after 10 minutes to crocheting for hours without issues. I could go on about them for hours.

Clover Amour is also a popular choice, though I think they may be better suited to pencil grippers. You can find them at AC Moore if you want to try them.

Crochet Dude hooks are also ergonomic, but not as awesome as Clovers. They're my back up for when the size I want isn't available as a Clover.

Also popular are the Tulip hooks, which are $10 at AC Moore. I have one and it's great, but definitely not good enough to justify the extra few dollars over a Clover hook.

Here is the link-I got the pink 2nd gen set but not the most expensive one: [2nd Gen] Yarn Mania Aiyana Crochet Hooks | Light Up Crochet Hooks with 9 Sizes Interchangeable Aluminum Heads | Ergonomic Curve Shape, Soft Handle and Two Brightness Settings (Light Pink) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QG27CT6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_0CaGDbQF1PG98

Notes: letter sizing isn’t right (at least for US?) as it has a 5mm as a G, and I used calipers and it’s definitely 5mm. It does make the yarn squeak a bit. But it’s comfortable, easy to charge and use and change the hooks, and there are two light settings. The hooks are metal instead of plastic which I like as well.

These are the Tunisian hooks I currently use. They are not of the highest quality and I only got them because I wanted to try Tunisian without the super high cost of buying good hooks. Buuut maybe the flexible tails would work really well for you, they do for me since it just feels like Im using a normal hook and I fully plan on using these til they break. Possibly look for a better brand with the type of tails these have?

I would be careful with hooks too. There are basically two types, and generally people like one or the other. I second the other ideas of following her lead in getting yarn. Stitch markers aren’t expensive and are helpful. Maybe a case for her hooks? I love having all of mine in one place.

Using a tiny hook to poke holes is a neat and useful tip! But if you want to avoid switching between two hooks, there are pointy "regular" sized crochet hooks that are meant for piercing through a piece of fabric. Here's an example. I'm sure you could find one without the book though. https://www.amazon.com/EdgIt-Piercing-Crochet-Hook-Book/dp/B00DQDA562

I think that we would both enjoy These Crochet Hooks because we both have crochet hooks on our wishlist and these are just SO CHEAP!!

Or I would definitely say that we both deserve the DONG! Because come on... we all need a bit of fun in our lives!! :')

u/Skyrena · 1 pointr/crochet

I bought this one as my first set and I'm still using them.

u/estherfm · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Metal hooks are cheap and work well. If you're just getting one, I'd suggest a size H (5mm). That's the hook I use most. You can get a set for $3.83 with free shipping.

I got these - Tunisian
