These things are live savers btw.

Not only do you not have to worry about the top spills due to air ventilation, it has a handle so no need to burn your hands. Eat straight out of it.

Microwaved Big bowl of "custard" (based on cream cheese pancakes)

Ingredients:

  • 3 Eggs
  • 3 ounces cream cheese

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • EZ-Sweetz as needed

    Directions:

  • Blend all ingredients together (I use a Magic Bullet)

  • Microwave for 60 seconds, stir, 60 seconds, stir, 30 seconds, stir, and repeat until mixture is set.
  • Top with whipped topping, fruit, or syrup (as if they were pancakes).

The unfinished outside has a really nice grippy texture that's both aesthetic and practical. Would describe the black as actually closer to a dark brown. Otherwise pretty cheap and convenient if you need to order. Shipped from China packaged really well, would be genuinely surprised if it broke in transit.

I've found steeping in it to be much more convenient for me than larger brews. Normal steeping in a cup is too big and with some of my more expensive oolongs I like to get a lot of steeps which is hard with a larger cup. I'm also a baby and can't drink tea piping hot, and I feel like it's pretty easy to get that exact right temperature where it's still hot but not scalding my tongue.

Go for one of these big basket stainless steel infusers. https://www.amazon.com/FORLIFE-Brew-Mug-Extra-Fine-Infuser/dp/B001JPA3Y8/ (though the mug with infuser is close in price https://www.amazon.com/FORLIFE-Brew-Infuser-16-Ounce-Purple/dp/B00FONTSZG)

If you want to attempt to save your gravity infuser, maybe try a denture cleaner, PBW, or oxyclean soak.
There are also glass models which last longer like this https://www.amazon.com/PRESS-TP-200-1000ML-CAPACITY-Yeme/dp/B00654M0AI/

Welcome to the glorious other side! Listen to /u/hokahoka and get serious about water temperature and steep time. In addition, focus on water quality. Get a Pur or Brita filter pitcher and filter tap, or buy a gallon of spring water at the grocery store and use it exclusively. Water quality makes a WORLD of difference.

Get some sample packs from online tea retailers. I'm a big fan of Verdant, O-Cha and Holy Mountain.

Not sure about what you brewed with, but the IngenuiTEA is a good thing for loose leaf beginners. I still use mine that I bought a few years ago for certain teas. I also suggest a Gaiwan. With those two items and a cup, you can literally make anything and everything while maintaining the quality of your tea.

Also, an electric kettle is a must have. I still have my basic one without temperature settings and it works fine with a thermometer, although you should get one with variable temp settings if you can afford it.

You could use either a gaiwan or small teapot. I have both, & yes the gaiwan is easier to clean but takes a little bit of practice to get used to pouring with it. I have a 180ml (about 6oz) teapot from teaware.house: https://imgur.com/C1AjMU1 or you could find a cheap porcelain gaiwan from tea sellers like Yunnan Sourcing or Old Ways Tea, etc. A few vendors on this sub's User's Choice Vendor list sell them. Amazon does sell gaiwans too. I got this on Amazon, it works fine. I also like to have a smaller vessel (60-100ml) if I'm just brewing a smaller amount or for solo sessions. Edit: changed 80ml to 60ml

You should consider getting an electric kettle. This is the one I use at home and the only one I can really recommend from experience. The temperature controls can be a bit fiddly at times, but once you get used to them its super easy to get the temperature you want. This is another popular programmable kettle which I've heard a lot of good things about. You can also surf around on Amazon and read some reviews, there's a large variety of electric kettles around. Another option is to keep boiling your water on the stove then letting it sit and cool and using a meat thermometer to gauge the temperature.

As for brewing, get a gaiwan! One, Two, Three, Four, Five, and there half a million more options out there. This is an awesome simple guide to using a gaiwan. Look up some tutorials on youtube or google for some more detailed info, or search around /r/tea a bit.

Next on the checklist, SAMPLES! Don't order 100 grams of a tea that you've never tried. Here's some basic sampler packs: One, Two, Three, Four. Plenty of other great sites offer samples too, check out /r/tea's List of Retailers on the sidebar.

Hope this helps, and sorry if this was too rambling and in-cohesive, I've had a lot of caffeine.

Also, I want to leave you with this guide. It's an incredibly well done piece. Good luck!

I make a ramen type meal for lunches at work,

ingredients
1 oxo vegetable stock cube
a handful of cooked chicken
1 sliced chili
a handful of frozen peas
1 carrot (grated)
1 sliced spring onion
instant noodles
corrieander
soy sauce
boiled water

I prepare the vegetables & chicken & keep the stock cube wrapped until it's time to add the boiling water
The noodle I use are the Maggi chicken flavour ones but I just throw away the flavour pack that comes with them. here in the UK you can also use the Asda/Tesco own brand ones that only cost about 20p a packet. the soy sauce I take in a little sauce bottle & just add it after the water.

I use a systema noodle bowl, it's good for keeping the steam in to make sure they're fully cooked
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sistema-Microwave-Noodle-Bowl-940/dp/B009SD35IO

Makes a decent meal for really cheap

you can also play about with different spices/meats etc

u/Richeh · 2 pointsr/GiftIdeas

If she "likes wine" likes wine then I'd steer clear; that shit's expensive. Slippers are a good gift, comfortable sheepskin ones should set you back about £25-£40, and they'd probably be good for the decorating and such.

You can get decent earbuds from Aliexpress for cheap (KZ ones are good, set you back less than $10). Allow a month for delivery; that might put them out of your timeframe but you might find them for a little more on ebay, in a more local area.

The Mighty Mug is a curiosity in that you genuinely can't accidentally knock it over if it's on a flat surface (a clever sucker arrangement prevents tipping but doesn't impede direct lifting at all) and costs about $15. Might be good for workout class.

1 case of beer, 2 bottles of good port, 1 handle (1.75L) Sailor Jerry's Rum, and of course mixers.

BTW, if you want to keep your drink cold, pick up one of these bad boys at Walmart for $5.

I have the FORLIFE Infuser Mug and I absolutely love it! The infuser is great (and I think is the same one you'l get in the teapot), the mug keeps heat well and it's cute to boot! Everyone here at work loves my cup :)

Sorry I can't give direct feedback on the teapot in question, but I would recommend the brand for sure and have plans to get one of their teapots myself here in the near future.

can you get it on amazon? http://amzn.com/B00KWLTGCA

u/MasterChief_John-117 · 1 pointr/gadgets

How does this look? It's the only one I could find with USB. The ratings are fairly low, though, so I'd recommend getting a decent thermos. A good one can keep your coffee warm for several hours.

You can also get a cuisinart burr grind and brew all in one machine. Works pretty damn well, my in laws have one and I just ordered one. There are also personal French press all in one cups like this one from Bobble that works well. u/WhatsUpBras · 1 pointr/tea

Wow that is much cheaper

Have you tried the Pom-berry flavor? That is the one im leaning towards as is it has higher 30mg more caffeine than the gingermint one.

I have a quick question though, usually i pour the hot water in my thermos but when i am at home i will boil water into a kettle and drop a bag of Tazo tea and let it steep instead of pouring the water over the bag. Will that make a difference?

Basically instead of pouring the water over the tea bag i dunk the tea bag in the boiling water and take the kettle off the hot burner, put it on a burner that is turned off, let the tea steep for 5 minutes than place the tea kettle back on LOW and let it stay warm i usually drink two cups

However, since the caffeine content is so high should i just make one cup out of this tea (aka pour it on top of the bag in a tea mug). I tried this one time and the bag just floated to the top. is there any special mug that i can fit a bag inside of it and pour the water ontop without the bag floating to the top and making a mess? Would something like this work http://www.republicoftea.com/get-happy-mug/p/V00924/

Or something like this http://www.amazon.com/FORLIFE-Brew--Infuser-16-Ounce-Purple/dp/B00FONTSZG/ref=sr_1_29?ie=UTF8&qid=1405828860&sr=8-29&keywords=tea+mug+with+infuser
