Defeet and Darn Tough are also two reputable companies that make wool socks. These socks are an investment at about $15 a pop but totally worth it. Not only do they wick really well, but your feet don't stink in them, and you can wear them over and over again without washing for a long time (good for me as I'm riding my bike across the country this may). They also come with a lifetime warranty if you wear them out.
Things that I already have but I wouldn't mind having more.
Chain lube/degreaser/cleaner pack. It doesn't go bad, so it can be saved for later.
A thermal bike cap. With visor or without visor and ear covers. I have one but i wouldn't mind having a backup.
Merino wool socks. Can't have enough of these.
Scratch labs hydration mix. It's like gatorade, but imho better.
I was even sent to a Catholic grade school because my parents liked the teachers there. That shit was confusing.
Edit: Oh, and absolutely no offense taken at the upside down cross comment; I thought it was hilarious. I have a few pairs of Pentabike socks and enjoy my share of death metal.

Best item to bring to a deserted island
I have lots of different ones, and they're all really good, but these are my favourites. (I didn't pay this much for them; shop around. I just went for a quick to find link)

So I broke my foot just a few days before giving birth. The doc recommended getting compression socks to wear around the house (I was able to walk without a boot/shoe at home). These were the ones I got and I found them to be great on my feet:

Well, to prevent yourself from slipping about wildly, use this pair of hideously ugly socks to keep yourself grounded!
P.s if you haven't already, you need to read the reviews on the lube... they are hysterical!
These are pretty thin:

They have them on Amazon too! I'm definitely adding these to my next order. Thanks!!!
