If someone really hates you for this, then it's they who have the problem. If that is what you are into, ask away. It's also not blasphemy to remix work from classical composers. History shows us that almost everyone did this themselves at one time (case in point: variations on themes). Not trance remixes, but reworking a preexisting idea.

There are two albums of Steve Reich remixes. I can't say I know the subtle differences between different veins of popular electronic music so I'm not sure if it is at all what you are looking for.
