WE used these on our granite countertops and they have been perfect for 5 years and running: https://www.amazon.com/Granite-Grabbers-Dishwasher-Mounting-Brackets/dp/B002UQ107O

It's a friction pad from your dishwasher. One goes on each door arm, and they provide friction to stop the door from just flopping down when you open it. I know this because I found one just like you did and after much Googling figured out what it was.

You can order a replacement on Amazon: https://smile.amazon.com/8268961-Whirlpool-Dishwasher-Pad-Friction/dp/B00Y1HCO34 (You might as well replace both at the same time, because the other one will wear out too.)

And here's a video showing how to replace it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0y5Jcc4K3w

Once it's fixed, add a dishwasher pan below the dishwasher. Also add one of these

OP, this is a common and easy repair.

You need part # W10712394

Here's how to do it:

Here's the short version.
https://thesuitelifedesigns.wordpress.com/2012/05/04/minty-fresh/

I like the glass tiles with white grout in that pastel-type of mint with some blue in it. Show of the color you pick with the white. I like Fusion Pro grout for the backsplash - it's not epoxy but it's more stain resistant than regular grout. It's not as easy to work with if you're used to traditional grout (but the main difference is it's harder to clean up ... unless you just get a few Magic eraser sponges in which case it's very easy).

Your black appliances will make this a bit harder to design around. Any chance to switch to white? Maybe by craigslist? Otherwise, a vinyl cover or decal? Also available in stainless or images.

Also, in your image it's not clear where the sink is ... I'm guess under the cabinets on the right that have a little higher bottom than the others, yes?

If you have more photos that include the actual space that would be helpful too.

Remember to start the project at some point - many people get bogged down in getting all the specifics exactly in line before starting, but it usually changes and calls for adjustments no matter what so start and enjoy!

Your dishwasher should have caps just inside the door on the side that pop off to reveal holes. You can screw in to the cabinets on either side here and not need to screw in the top at all.

EDIT ignore, it helps if I read the whole post.

I had luck with these adhesive mounting things from Amazon. Let me find the link.

Extending is fine as long as it’s downhill and the vertical portion doesn’t exceed the recommendation on the washer. When I bought a new washer and dryer for my tenants I used this . The 20 year old models had the same problem except the previous owner attached a 3/4” hollow metal j-shaped tube with electrical tape to the original drain hose. I live beneath my rental and there has not been any leaks for 5 months with heavy use

u/2moreweeks · 2 pointsr/microgrowery

and or one of these might help too. I use um for drain pans under pots

I have a magnet on my dishwasher which works remarkably well. It's been on there for 5 or 6 years now and actually looks pretty nice.

It looked like this https://www.amazon.com/Appliance-Art-Stainless-Dishwasher-Trimmable/dp/B005DJ7CFE although I don't know if that's the exact one my wife got or not.

Dishwashers are easier because you only ever see the front of them and there is no profile to worry about.

u/phoephus2 · 2 pointsr/HomeImprovement

new dishwashers come with metal clips and mount to the sides of the adjacent cabinets. for old top mounting ones use granite grabbers.

Worked fine for about a year, then the chopper got messed up. That was covered under warranty. The upper rack adjuster/rollers started to fail within a year and WERE NOT covered by warranty. We've had to replace them annually since. The part that are to be avoided are: https://www.amazon.com/Kitchenaid-Compatible-Dishwasher-Upper-Adjuster/dp/B013JKQ2YA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1512054918&sr=8-2&keywords=kitchenaid+dishwasher+roller

Instead you should replace with:

TL;DR - I did this, it cost me less than $20 total and my washer is running BETTER than new.

I spent $13.11 plus shipping and fixed my washer. It WAS completely out of balance and making a ton of noise, so I did some research and figured out that the problem was these three small felt pads.

I took my washer apart (the instructions that came with it helped quite a bit), glued the pads, let the glue dry for 24 hours and then lubed them up with the grease they give you.

I can honestly say that our washer runs better than the day we got it. Unless you're standing in the same room and hear the water spraying out of it, you cannot tell that its' in the spin cycle.

I amazed myself and so can you!

As a compromise I would just buy one of these

https://www.amazon.com/Dishwasher-Update-Brushed-Nickel-Stainless/dp/B01CANG4IG/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1484929467&sr=8-4&keywords=faux+stainless+steel++dishwasher

The other option, do you know if your dishwasher front panel is reversible? There are some models out there that are. But a new dishwasher I would say no.

If they try and replace it on their own dime, they must properly store the original one and have a professional install their and then when they move out a professional install the original one back.

Looks like the correct board is WD21X20724 which replaced WD21X10553 on the diagram #718 under Escutcheon.

Edit: Just because Amazon says it's compatible with your model doesn't mean it is.

Would love to be able to just buy this one, actually, it's on prime, and is the genuine whirlpool one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015WXGROW/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1#customerReviews

I struggled with this for a year after buying a house with an improperly attached dishwasher under a granite countertop. I tried the stick on Granite Grabbers (https://www.amazon.com/Granite-Grabbers-Dishwasher-Mounting-Brackets/dp/B002UQ107O/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1487032272&sr=8-1&keywords=dishwasher+attachment) but our counter surface on the bottom side was too rough and they never stuck. I ended up buying this mounting bracket (https://www.amazon.com/E-Z-Dishwasher-Bracket-by-EZ/dp/B01N0GWLK7/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1487032307&sr=8-2&keywords=dishwasher+mounting) and screwing in some additional wooden braces on both sides

Make and model of the dishwasher?

Edit: GE calls it a Unicouple Assembly

u/Ephemeral_Halcyon · 1 pointr/DIY

Bowls are always an issue for us, too. So finicky with the different sizes/shapes. On top we can usually get 2 very little bowls, skip a spot, 2 more. Or line them along the edges. On bottom the dumb things have to lay flat on their tops, and our standard set bowls have to skip spaces in tines.

What kind of dishwasher have you got? How old is it, by chance? Maybe it's just a bad model or losing life over time? Even with poor fitting it still seems off it'd leave things dirty.

Might be cheaper to buy a new set of standard/basic bowls that you use day to day and save the finicky dishes for company, too? Snipping tines is a hard thing to fix up with the chance for rust to build, new seams between original/new seal.

You can buy the dishwasher racks themselves, even on Amazon it looks like. haha. The idea might be shitty (I don't know a whole lot about dishwasher builds), but maybe you could find a new rack in your dishwasher's size and see if it fits in? Maybe even like a lower rack, or a super open top rack like this one?

I had a similar dilemma when I remodeled my kitchen last year. I moved my DW to a new location. I ended up using your option 2 and ordered a 10 ft return line from Amazon.

GE GPF10L Dishwasher Drain Hose https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MOCDI8S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_QqusDbX52V94Z

So far I've had no issues.

Got Amazon Prime?
https://www.amazon.com/Frigidaire-5304461725-Drain-Pump-Dishwasher/dp/B00M2592TG

I also googled the part # (Frigidaire 5304461725) and the first three online appliance parts websites all had it and all offered overnight delivery for an extra $20 or $25.

u/MicaBay · 1 pointr/appliancerepair

THAT IS EXACTLY HOW I REPAIR THAT!!!!! I have many of those red wires hanging around and used them for this type of repair all the time. When I run out this is what I use.

https://www.amazon.com/Whirlpool-Y304693-Jumper-Wire/dp/B00LOX1F38/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=y304693&qid=1563243414&s=gateway&sr=8-1

Using a high temp connector would be good too!.
