I was going to make the typical reddit comment sexualizing this underage girl, but instead I'll take the high road and just say, "Ugh. Look at those roots. I declare that dye job unfabulous."

Poor baby! Best of lucks!
I know your instincts say to overfeed him, since he's so emaciated, but start slowly so you don't overwhelm his pancreas. His poor pancreas needs to "relearn" to process fats. Breaks my heart 💔
Also, Vetericyn works magic for the skin! If you try it, and it works, make sure to post before and after photos to their website. They have amazing customer service and may send you a free bottle 😉

And I'd be fine with an IPA arms race if it would just stay in its lane. When it starts polluting other beers (I'm looking at you, Bootlegger's Rocco Red Ale, Bottle Logic's Pils, and Stone's, well, their entire catalog unless it actually has the word 'stout' in the name), then it's a problem. It actively discourages me from exploring other beer types for fear of getting stung with pet wipes taste again.

I like the last one. Good to know.

Go to the vet and get a cone of shame and some cream maybe? Then change to a metal or ceramic bowl, clean it every day. If the acne continues, try using these wipes : https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D8HHQGS/?cv_ct_id=amzn1.idea.TRLBS4I30UUD&cv_ct_pg=storefront&cv_ct_wn=aip-storefront&ref=exp_cov_myfosterkittens_lv_dp_vv_mw

TIL Amazon sells Johnson's Bitch Spray for sale in the UK. It "disguises natural oestrus odour of bitch in season" and "protects bitches from unwanted attention from dogs whilst in season." Sorry reddit, can't be used for cats.

My shih tsu, Frodo, had the same problem which my vet said was due to his seasonal allergies (itching, breaking the skin causing tiny sores which would then cause him to itch more and sores would get infected... a vicious cycle). I would get him a shot to control the itching twice a year and have temporary relief from the smell until the perpetual itching would start again.

It was my sister (who is a veterinarian) who was visiting one year who finally gave me the solution that worked. Frodo and our family suffered with his itching and his smell for over 8 years. He was not allowed on furniture or beds bc of the smell. His last 9 years were smell free & itch free, hallelujah! Her recommendation worked so well that he never needed to get the shots anymore.

My sister's recommendations:

supplement his diet with omega 3 capsules or oil

wash him with an antibacterial shampoo when he is itching to control sores getting infected (I use NaturVet Septiderm-V Skin Care... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0006IC5QI?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share )

after shampoo, rinse with a leave in conditioner (I use Epi-Soothe Cream... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0056EAJZQ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share )

when not itching and for regular shampoo, use an oatmeal shampoo followed by the creme rinse

My GSD had food allergies, figured out she could not have beef products of any kind, in food, or like a bully stick/beef treats. Switching her over to Origen 6 fish made a huge difference. Also, I applied 2 sprays to her paws (she would lick her paws and belly during an allergic reaction). Vetericyn and another spray that had tea tree oil. my dog did not like to lick tea tree oil. However do not use tea tree oil full strength on dogs. And never use on cats.

My dog has allergies and will lick his feet raw and he scratched a hole in his head once.

We use benadryl, (1mg per lb of dog), twice a day.

You need to use actual Medicated shampoo and sprays. An oatmeal shampoo isn't going to do anything for allergies. You might need to figure out which one works for your dog.

You need to bathe the dog often to remove whatever allergens are on him. Might even need to wash his feet every time he walks through any grass or plants.

This blog has a lot of info on fungal acne https://simpleskincarescience.com/pityrosporum-folliculitis-treatment-malassezia-cure/. Seems like a lot of people use Nizoral on their face, but I was a little concerned that it would either dry my face out or break me out. I've recently started using an antifungal spray for pets (https://www.amazon.com/Pet-MD-Antiseptic-Chlorhexidine-Ketoconazole/dp/B0180A1EXI). There are fewer ingredients in this compared to Nizoral, and most of the ingredients I at least somewhat recognize. I do contact therapy - leave on my face for 5-10 minutes then rinse off. Only been using this for about 5 days, but so far so good. Good luck!

Edit: you’ll notice it first working when the redness goes away.

Edit 2: just remembered, my dog was initially reluctant to let me put it on, so I gave her a treat and praised her after the first few times. She soon associates the application of the lotion with getting a treat and now lets me do it with ease.

My puppy had the exact same thing on his armpit at 10 weeks old. They look gross like acne and have scabs from the dried puss. Like the other poster said, I think it's puppy pyoderma which is common for young puppies, usually doesn't bother them, and it goes away on its own. I bought some otc pet topical that contains Chlorhexidine Gluconate and sprayed it liberally 2 times every day on the area. I could tell it was working. He is 6 months now and they're completely gone.

u/gattzu20 · 2 pointsr/savannah

not sure if this link will work but https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071WCV19B/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 has worked for me and my fiance's dog that has every possible allergy you could think of.

She also has the problem with her anal gland where she is constantly messing with it until she "milks"it(I know gross) and we have been feeding her pumpkin puree and it has done wonders for her. Basically she never has solid bowel movements so it doesn't put pressure on the gland so she does it herself. the pumpkin seems to make her have solid movements and it does the job for her.

My dog has terrible allergies as well; We had him on Apoquel for awhile but the side effects scared me. Through a lot of trial and error, we finally have a natural remedy that works for him. He's on a half kibble/half raw diet, gets 1 TBSP of Apple Cider Vinegar each day and 1 TBSP of Coconut Oil. I also give him these allergy treats twice per day, and invested in some grooming wipes so he can get regular wipe-downs between baths to get any allergens off of his skin and paws. Good luck with your pup!

Im not op but I use regenepure. I like it a lot, but it's kinda expensive.

I also buy this (see caveat below):

Pet MD - Antiseptic and... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0180A1EXI?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

It's the only Ketoconazole product I could find that was not a shampoo (I don't understand why). I like this for a leave in, but I don't know the effect of that antiseptic. It's safe, but it's not made for long term used I'd imagine so use at your own risk

I fee your pain! Same thing happened to my 8 year old Bulldog just a few months ago. Our vet diagnosed the problem as allergies (just by looking at her symptoms, no tests).
I didn't bother doing the allergy test as the problem cleared up pretty quickly with the remedies below that I used. However it didn't, I would have done what others have suggested and gotten a test done to know for sure.
Dogs often develop food allergies (such as chicken) later in life so many owners don't suspect a food item they have been eating for years could be doing damage.
I also did not want to put my girl on medication unless it was my last resort so here is what I did and thankfully it worked wonders!

-coconut oil on skin and in food once a day
-cod liver oil in food once a week
-castor oil on skin
-baths every three days with [this shampoo] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0037Z6VLM/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1505792891&sr=8-3&keywords=antifungal+dog+shampoo&dpPl=1&dpID=31TsVzyu4SL&ref=plSrch)

Other natural products a holistic vet recommended that you can google for more info are colloidal silver, neem oil and also lavender oil (just a few drops mixed in with the coconut oil when you apply it on the skin).

I also have been feeding her a raw diet for a few years now - when I first adopted her, her skin was horrible and she had ear infections every month. Switching to raw food improved her coat, stopped her ear infections and helped her overall health. I also only feed her natural treats every once and awhile, nothing packaged, such as apples, sweet potatoes and sardines.

Good luck and if you have any questions I'm happy to help!

our dog gets really bad skin allergies/hot spots and were taking him to the vet once a month it was so bad started using this spray and regularly check him and its been a life saver for him and our wallets.

Both Derma Gel and this anti fungal spray have worked well for my dogs.

u/CrisisOfConsonant · 1 pointr/aww

Pretty sure Amazon. I think it's this but not 100% positive. My girlfriend bought it before she moved out and stuck me taking care of the dog, and she put it in a different small spray bottle but I vaguely remember seeing that Vets Best logo laying around.

It sure beats taking him to the vet every month and paying like $60+ for ear infection medicine.
