I have tummy issues as well and I'm not sure why there would be pain from the IBS. It seems more likely, to me at least, that the IBS makes you self conscious and nervous about anal sex. The nervousness means you're not going to be as relaxed down there and well...if you're not relaxed...it's gonna hurt.
A couple suggestions (again as someone with tummy issues), get a shower douche/enema. Here is the one I have on Amazon. If you haven't used one of these before there are two ways to go about it. You can do a quick cleaning that gets your rectum all tidy or you can do a longer deeper cleaning that empties out part of your colon. If you've got tummy issues, the last option will probably be for you. It give you a much bigger time window before things get dirty. Depends on what you would prefer to do. So far I know there are three main ways of do it: air, water, and whipped cream. I can't give too much details about the whipped cream as its a relatively new method for me and I've never personally tried it. Now the I find air and water to be like night and day, they have pretty stark differences. I've tried both methods and personally I prefer water but I still enjoyed the air. The trick I use is to go slow, especially at the start. You need to find and know your limit, and slowly edge your way past it over time. A third method, which I recently started using, is to buy an aquarium filter pump. This is similar to the enema bag, but require less setup but usually costs more. There are other methods but those are the main ones I use/know of.
For air, things are bit more difficult. You can manually blow the air using tubing and your mouth, but this require effort and I'm lazy. A variation to this would be to buy a bellow and use that in place of your mouth. I'm not 100% familiar with air inflation so I'm sure there's more methods, but those are they kinds I used.

I’m gay and get fucked up the butt quite a bit so I think I can offer some advice.
First off, what you wanna do is buy this and this.
The enema bulb is pretty easy to use. You fill it
up with warm water and insert the tip into the asshole. Squeeze the water completely into the rectum, hold it in for a couple minutes (or however long is she’s comfortable), and release the water back into the toilet. This will loosen up any residual poop that might be in the rectum and bring it out when the water is expelled. Repeat the process another time or two or until whenever the water is coming out clear and free of any poop.

Oh god I'm just now realizing how dangerous that search query was after having typed it out, this could of ended very badly.
I have a condition where I only take enemas, never poo naturally. This is what I find works best... I use an enema bag, you can get them at Walmart, CVS, etc. I also use a small Fleet enema bottle like this. Finally, mineral oil.
Dump the contents of the fleet enema bottle. It's really not important. Fill the fleet bottle to the top with mineral oil.
Fill the enema bag with warm water, not hot. Hang about 3 to 4 feet above you.
Using fleet bottle, squirt 1/2 bottle mineral oil. (You filled it to the top so you're not squirting air.)
Release enema clamp, allow air to escape and warm water flowing.
Clamp, insert, unclamp. Take 50% to 100% of enema.
Immediately get up and defecate.
Repeat if necessary.
I find that this does the job the quickest with the least amount of after-effects. Best if your stools are a bit hard. If they are mushy like clay, you may need to allow more time in your gut.
The longer you hold the water in, the more you'll vacate, generally speaking, but it will take you much longer as well, maybe 30+ minutes. I like being over with it in 5 to 10 minutes, and just getting rid of what's blocking everything else is my goal... I can always do another enema the next day if needed.

The worst one is easy! I was getting things ready for a wine enema, which I had never tried before. The instructions recommend the short nozzle for colon douching. That'll work OK for the first pass, but you might try the longer wand for followup since it'll get water deeper inside you for a more complete clean, so long as you insert it gently to not do any damage by poking too hard.

However, we won't get to that point yet.
First, I would recommend sticking with Metamucil (maybe upping the dose). Drinking plenty of water. I drink at least 2 liters a day.
Now on to the other stuff.
That enema bottle will work wonders for you. Fill it by squeezing the bulb tight and sucking as much lukewarm water into it as you can.
Put a little bit of lube on your butthole, and then a little lube on the stem of the enema.
Take a position like you're gonna pray to allah. Head down, ass up. Very slowly find your little butthole opening and gently slide the stem in there.
Now, reeeeallly slowly start squirting the water into your butt. Only squeeze, do not let the bulb pull water back into the bulb. You'll be cleaning the bulb afterwards, but the focus here is getting that water up your shitpipe. When the water is in there, slowly slide out the enema stem and set it aside.
You might want to distract yourself by redditing, or reading the news. Sometimes people can barely hold the water in for less then a minute, sometimes people can hold it in for a couple of minutes. I'm pretty good at holding it in for 3-4 minutes. You'll get better if you stick with it.
You may feel a little cramping. This is normal. Try to keep it in there.
When you're ready to let loose, hop onto the toilet and let it rip. You may let out gas along with shitlogs and it may be more then you expected. Hang in there. More may come out.

This next part is another thing you can do, and do it before the enema if you want. Both of these in combo will really help you to feel cleaned out.
You may now be wondering about the lube.
Well, this is a little more advanced, but it might really help you if you're suffering. This is actually a thing that is done in hospitals for severely constipated patients!
The lidocaine in that lube is meant to help numb your ass a bit for anal sex, but there really isn't enough lidocaine for that. The good thing about that lube is that it's thick, and it comes with an applicator to shoot some lube up your shit nozzle.
Here's the part you may not be able to do, but I promise you that I've done it and it works!
Lean your ass into the tub.
Lube up a finger and your asshole. Slowly put your finger in your butt. Wait a little bit. Tighten your butt sphincter, then loosen it (as if you were going to fart or poop). See how the discomfort is less when you relax that sphincter? Well that's how you're going to add lots of lube to your pointer and middle fingers and gently, and slowly slide them up your butt. See if you can feel poop. It may just be stuck. With your fingers still in your butt, push down (like you're gonna poop) and see if the poop comes down a little bit. If you can get your fingers to the side of it, you can help ease it down until you can push it right out of your butthole! Toss it in the toilet.
Keep going like this while consistently pushing down and you feel more and more descending. This is called "digital disimpaction".
At this point, your asshole is slightly stretched, your rectum and anus is well lubed, and you can take plenty of time siting on the toilet letting the rest of it slide out. Your bowel should be adequately stimulated to help move stool down the colon.
When you're done reuse the enema a few times to clean any lube and left over shit and then wash up. Minty asshole!

Do not mistake that with soluble fiber which draws more water into your colon. I still prefer to give it a quick swish just for peace of mind, confidence, and comfort.
When you douche as far as water is concerned, less is more. You ONLY want to rinse out your rectum. This is why Fleet Enemas are good because they’re designed to hold the right amount of fluid. The general consensus from doctors that I’ve read is that if you’re JUST rinsing out a small section of your lower GI like your rectum, it’s probably not not much of a concern but why upset your gut biome at all if you don’t have to. Douching is great! But don’t over do it.

I've found the size to be overkill, but sometimes you need to douche many times until you're clean.
