What if they are fingerless tactical gloves ?

u/toramimi · 8 pointsr/PSVR

These are what I use for Beat Saber and Creed.

Be careful.

I was aware of the potential for wrist strain and so went with hand weights rather than directly on the wrists, and alter my swings to be more controlled and straight when wearing the gloves to account for this. What I did not account for was potential back strain. I got to going one day and was really feeling it, ended up overpunching in the gym on Creed and tweaked one side of my lower back for a good week afterward. Be careful and don't overdo it!

I feel like any “workout” gloves would be fine. I have these:

weighted vests work great on boxvr workouts involving squats/dodging..

I'm using this one -

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002P60ZZC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

works ok but really bulky (I have the 40lb model, with about 30lb's on it..).. given that I'm only using partial the weight on there (you can remove weights in 2.5lb increments)), I think a lighter/better fitted vest might be better..

I'm also using these wrist weights- but - most people really caution against using wrist weights. I feel as if they make a big difference, but be careful w/ quick wrist movements while wearing these - (note - ignore that these are marketed to women.. they're the best wrist weights I've found after going through a few different brands and even give a bit of wrist support..)

I got a pair like these (Harbinger 140 Pro WristWrap Glove (Black) by Harbinger)[http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00074T83Y/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_3Jomtb0ERJ7YT]

Love them. Durable leather palms, good support in the wrist wraps. Easy to get on and off. I also found after I got them that every dude in the weight room that doesn't use nothing or wrist straps uses these gloves.

u/GhostOfAebeAmraen · 3 pointsr/Ingress

I have these gloves, recommended by The Wirecutter. Not super thick, but they do fine for my area. They have very good grip on the palm so I'm not scared of dropping mine phone, and I haven't had any problems with the touch screen responding.

One con--the shape doesn't quite fit my hand somehow, so they bunch up a little on the pinky side right at the base of the fingers. It's just a slight annoyance though.

Ninja edit: They have a thicker version of them too,

u/Clcsed · 3 pointsr/Fitness

Just get the cheapest glove you can find. Mens hands arent any different than womens hands. Every sporting goods store will carry this one for $10-15 so you can either buy in person or find your size and order online.

I ran outside this morning when it was 22 degrees, this was my setup.

u/Fragninja · 2 pointsr/EDC

I have a pair of HEAD running gloves with a touchscreen friendly surface on the thumb and forefinger. Then are small enough to slip into my back pocket when they aren't on my hands, have a reliable clip to keep them together, as well as being so dexterous I can use the in-line remote on my headphones. They are also covered in small rubber pads on the palm side, which help gripping INFINITELY. I can wear these down to 0C or -5C for a short while and they will pretty much keep my hands warm. Also, when it gets REALLY COLD (see: winter 2013-2014) I can wear them under my skiing gloves so I can take off my clunky ski gloves/mitts and have a warm layer while being much more dexterous.

I use these for doing pull-ups and sometimes just for gripping dumbbells or barbells that have the knurling which can sometimes cut into your hand. I however don't deadlift with them. I prefer bare hands then. I think it might juts be a bit of mouse pad material to be honest Lol, but there is a firmer one too which feels like some type of rubber. Both the soft and firm versions work well to me and you don't have to keep them on constantly, so no sweaty hands.

Hey man. You're doing awesome!! I trained with the Tough Mudder Boot Camp exercises a couple times a week. All the exercise translate roughly to the muscle areas or skills you'll need for the obstacles.
http://toughmudder.com/tough-mudder-boot-camp-training/

The only obstacle that I failed at was the monkey bars. So go to the playground and do some monkey bars if that's a weak spot for you, too! Another tough obstacle that I saw some people having a hard time with was Everest- you're gonna want to practice sprints for that one because you need momentum. There are also lots of walls to climb over so I'd say train a lot of upper body strength. Also, practice your army crawls.

Mentally prepare yourself for the obstacles! The Arctic Enema scared me to death but I told myself exactly how I was going to get through it and it ended up being one of my easiest obstacles.

I did TM Boston this year, and it was hot as hell(about 90 degrees F) so make sure you drink AT LEAST one cup of water at each station, even if you're not feeling thirsty. You don't know when the next station is gonna be (unless you memorized the course map).

BUY GLOVES. I got these ones and they worked great: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00074H6SS/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Don't wear anything you're not prepared to destroy or lose.
Climb some mountains or steep hills if there are any in your area. Seriously.

Tough Mudder was the most fun I've had in a long time, and I'm sure you'll have a great time too. Everyone is helping each other out at each obstacle, and I suggest you help others too, it feels great :)

If your bar is tearing up your hands you might want to get some lifting gloves. I bought these for ~$14 and I no longer have calluses all over my hands.

big fan of these..

I tried weighted gloves, but I much prefer the wrist weights.
The gloves have little loops that go around each of your fingers, and the weight pulls against them, which makes gripping the controller and using the buttons uncomfortable. I found it unusable. The wrist weights leave your fingers totally free.
I think either way swinging your arm with weight attached has injury potential. Like I said, I'm going to try the 1.5 lb wrist weights instead of the 2.5lb. I think they'll be perfect.

For the gloves:
I tried the 2 lb each version of the ones below. What set do you use?
The lighter version might be better, but I hate how they pull on your fingers.

u/NinjaCobraNow · 2 pointsr/kettlebell

I went through a few different gloves. I had really bad calluses on my palms. The ones you linked are awful, they tend to slide/roll into your palm making your grip even worse.

I eventually settled on these palm grips, which don’t fold or roll, but they will result in a wider palm grip and require resetting between sets.

Eventually, I gave up on gloves. Filing the calluses in combination with the use of chalk has been a long term fix for me.

u/RugbyAndBeer · 2 pointsr/shittykickstarters

I own a pair of these.

https://www.amazon.com/Valeo-Work-Open-Finger-Gloves/dp/B004394IAC

I don't use them for video games, but I like them when I go hunting. But I'd imagine they'd work for video games.

u/Anon0mousse · 2 pointsr/HelpMeFindThis

here is some It also looks like this brand has several options.

u/PM_ME_GLUTE_SPREAD · 2 pointsr/powerlifting

I had a pair of straps from Walmart that are still working. Just a straight piece of fabric, nothing fancy. But so little to go wrong and they were dirt cheap. I've probably had them for 2ish years now?

I don't use them for deadlifts anymore though. I got a pair of these for my birthday back in August and they've worked really well. Easier to set up on the bar than the Walmart pair but they are pretty bulky around the wrists. Only real issue is that the rubber fucking stank for like 2 months when I got them.

u/BoredDellTechnician · 2 pointsr/orangetheory

Work your way up the weight scale gradually.

I wear these throughout my whole OTF workout. Ask your coach if something like this would benefit you.

Been using the same pair steadily for going on two years and they're beginning to show signs of wear.

u/dvito · 1 pointr/bicycling

I have a pair of lifting gloves I picked up from a local sporting goods store, padding on the palms works out well.

Similar to these (but I paid much less): http://www.amazon.com/Bionic-Mens-Finger-Fitness-Gloves/dp/B001ZTP0CI

Edit: These look pretty nice if you consider 20 bucks cheap. Friends have some of the other thermal pearl izumi stuff, and praise it highly. http://www.amazon.com/Pearl-Izumi-Thermal-Screaming-Yellow/dp/B004N62I2U/ref=sr_1_64?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1322538188&sr=1-64

u/riotkitty · 1 pointr/xxfitness

I have ridiculously small hands (I'm 5'3" with small frame) and my grip will always be my weakest link. My main goal is aesthetics over fitness so I do what I can to help make my lifts comfortable so I will keep doing them and keep progressing with them. I was using gloves and still use them if I'm doing a more endurance lighter weight workout, but I hate the feeling of my hands feeling hot. So now when I lift heavy I use straps or these little grip pads (I use the firm grip pads) depending on the lift.

u/emd9629 · 1 pointr/bodybuilding

I feel like I couldn't get a good grip on the bar, I got these instead of traditional straps.

90% felt good, but close to my max just didn't feel right in my hands.

Here, have a real answer.

I use these Harbinger Pro Gloves

u/kentuckyjames · 1 pointr/BuyItForLife

I started using theses because of some wrist issues but they are great for lifting. Leather palm. I would buy them again if mine ever fall apart. Side note: nasty hand corns are gross. I’m a glove guy.

I also get sweaty hands and use these gloves.

They've lasted a couple years now and still no calluses.

u/meaniemepee · 1 pointr/orangetheory

i wear these for the rower and floor. they are not bulky at all and have wrist support. follow the sizing instructions

I had the same problem. I do support in a squat rack with the dip attachements and support really hurt my hands.

I bought these gloves and my palms have been much better since.

(The gloves that shipped were not exactly like the photos. Mine have large wrist support straps that I don't use.)

Your wishlist is pretty interesting! From that I surmise the trip will be somewhere along the lines of

Blindfolded ride to Hamptons -> Lunch at The Pirate's booty -> followed by a day of shopping at Ye Olde Hampton Souvenir Shop Cricket Boutique she-she and much much more culminating to him surprising you with a little present at Goodman & Son Jewelers. After the excitement settles and exhaustion from your day of shopping settles. He takes you to Dinner for Sushi. Once refueled with energy, he takes you to get a Massage and Manicure. Once you feel and look FABULOUS (More so than you already are) He takes you out Ballroom Dancing. Enthralled by how much planning he's put into this, you end your pleasant day/night at a Bed N breakfast though despite the comfortable bedding, not much sleep was had that night.

u/missyr123 · 1 pointr/xxfitness

I tried lifting gloves when I first started but they didnt work out for me at all due to my extremely small hands. However what did work for me was lifting grip pads I found on amazon (https://www.amazon.com/Grip-Power-Pads-Alternative-Potential/dp/B007V5CCY4/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1542815017&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=lifting+pads&dpPl=1&dpID=61RR5UPGdLL&ref=plSrch)

These were life savers for me at the beginning when my hands werent used to the weights my calluses would hurt sooo much. I've gotten to a point now where I no longer use these at all. But they worked very well

u/Carl_Gordon_Jenkins · 1 pointr/pics

these are the dudes I like. indestructible!

u/DirkRedditer · 1 pointr/Fitness

You can try these grips if you don’t want to wear gloves:

Best Lifting Grips by GRIP POWER PADS The Alternative To Gym Workout Gloves Maximize Your Workout Potential With Grip Pad Non Slip Grip No More Calluses & Grip Fatigue Secure Your Grip https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007V5CCY4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_VGTOBb9XN7QH0

They help, but you’ll still get calluses, at least I do, but I think my hands are just used to making them after so many years.

u/Kindness4Weakness · 1 pointr/Android

I live in Buffalo and I just bought these.

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B006WR08Z2/ref=pe_385040_127541850_TE_item

I did a bit of research and those seem to be the best in terms of warmth and function for the price. Mine were $22 delivered. I haven't received them yet so I can't say for myself how they are. But I can tell you I am a very reluctant shopper and do quite a bit of research before making online purchases.

Edit: unlike other gloves with a thin "window" on the fingertip, these are full glove all around, with a conductive material channeling through the fabric at the finger.

Harbinger Pro Wristwrap Weightlifting Gloves with Vented Cushioned Leather Palm (Pair), Medium https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GT2O5IK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_PTAVDbE0Z5TP9

Mainly got these because my palms got oily as hell on T but they have a wrist wrap that is easy to apply or remove or adjust depending on the lift you're doing.

u/tehorhay · 1 pointr/Fitness

I experienced the same thing, so I started using lifting gloves that have a fastening strap that wraps around the upper wrist with velcro. The bell rests on the strap instead of slamming on my actual wrist when I set for a press. Works like a charm.

EDIT: Mine were a bit cheaper than these but its the same idea.

u/gabrielsfitness · 1 pointr/fitness30plus

Thanks! I got mine free, haha. But here you go ➡️ Mava Sports Cross Training Gloves with Wrist Support, Small - Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ZXKTPJY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_P8MlDbMB4TKGQ

These

or this

I do alot of bodyweight exercises every day, sometimes twice a day, as I have a goal this year of getting as fit as possible in 12 months. I feel plateaus fairly often since zero equipment. The gloves would really bring me up a level, and the pre-work out is like legal coke, and I know working out on it annihilates any sort of fatigue or soreness.

I would most definitely use these products every day until they were no more.. the gloves could easily last years. ^(and I would really get off on the idea of having weighted training gear like an idol of mine... Goku)
