>Just tell people you bought them at a "boutique" for $200

these would be sweet in a darker shade as the pattern is so unique, at the moment the bleach stands out too much.

why not buy some some dye? really simple to do and I can give tips if needed.

theoretically yeah, but it'd be v. hard to control and get even

i think a better method might be using some kinda pre dye that's specifically made to lighten stuff

i used Elmers brand paint markers like these. I got mine at walmart. they sell medium and fine point and there are several color packs. I use the regular Tulip Soft Fabric Paint for most of the stencil stuff though. I just wasn't quite good enough to paint the detailed lines for the GOT shirt with a paintbrush.

There's a product called Retayne that you can add to wash water to help set dye. Although I have to caution you that nothing will really stop a fabric from bleeding that wasn't properly dye set at the factory level. I'd rather ruin fabric at the prewash stage than find out after investing hours in a project!

I've never tried it myself, but I've heard good reviews of this dye for synthetics.

I was bored at work, so I spent the last 30-45 min looking for a set of brown caps.

Apparently, they do not exist!

If I were looking for a set of Brown caps, I'd probably pick up a set of these and then give them a quick boil with some of this following the directions here.

I've done this twice, once with Orange and once with Purple. I really like the results, and so far there hasn't been any fading or wear.

DISCLAIMER: I've never used the brown dye, so it could end up looking less like a rich luscious chocolate and more like a splattered turd sitting in an dank alley.

Well you could use spray dye like this or use regular fabric paint that you brush on. The regular fabric paint is neater and a little easier to control but your shirt will be STIFF as all get out, so the spray might work better, just remember to cover the areas not being colored with paper/painter's tape. Happy crafting!

Aw only 2. Well I suppose I can leave them. Total they don't equal your cap. :) Thanks so much for such a cool contest!

I’ve fixed pinhole leaks in the bellows way using Gutta Resist Black

Here is a good write up of a similar camera that has a good bit on repair.

Last weekend I tried to dye some caps using this product Dylon Textilfarbe French Lavender, 200g https://www.amazon.de/dp/B000TAU2BI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_y9o2xb7V1VEBC

Apart from this I followed the above linked guide no keycap had at least some color sticking on it, through.

Can you recommend a good dye vendor/product? Here in Germany I don't know if I can get the common ones from the US.

I've used puffy paint pens to label mine before! It will come off if you pick at it but as long as you leave it alone, it stays on for a long time. Just pick a nice contrasting color and you're good to go!

edited: puffy paint pens are actually a little different than what I use, but would still work. I use these 3D paint pens: http://www.amazon.com/Duncan-Crafts-Scribbles-Dimensional-Paint/dp/B001A3ASJY/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&qid=1427683566&sr=8-16&keywords=scribbles+3d+paint
