I am in my late 40s and had similar issues to what you are describing with your mother. I went to a dermatologist, and while that was some help the medication kept changing prices and I didn't want to be on antibiotics long term. After some experimenting on my own I found a routine that helps my skin be a lot better. I no longer use any prescriptions for my skin.

First, Prosecea has done wonders. As good or better than any prescription for my rosacea. I use it twice a day after moisturizing.

I also started using the Dermalogica skin care line. I used the Special Cleansing Gel, Multiactive Toner, and the Skin Smoothing Cream. Some people find the ultra sensitive line helpful, but it did not work for me. It is expensive, but they offer starter kits to see if the line works without too much of a financial outlay.

I am very careful to keep my makeup in date. Now I write the purchase month/year in sharpie on the product. I now exclusively use the Clinique line. I am not sure how big of a difference the line makes, but not using old makeup is important because the bacteria can make skin conditions worse.

Once a week I do a mini facial with alpha hydroxy and a gentle clay masque. I have not settled on the masque brand yet.

My skin is not perfect, but it is much better than it used to be and I have a lot more confidence that I am on the right track. Hope this helps.

I think he is talking about these ones.

Hello! I used the Apricot Scrub for years until reading about it here - so I stopped and starting using the Stridex pads instead. Buuuuut I really missed how good my skin would feel after using the scrub, so I went to buy some more Apricot Scrub and found St. Ives Green Tea Scrub that has salicylic acid (1%).

It's great! I get the benefits of the salicylic acid but I also get that scrubbed-clean feeling. Instead of walnut pieces, the scrubbers are hydrated silica (I think they are, anyway, I can't see what else they would be based upon the ingredient list).

In almost less than a week I have been following a routine in which I developed thanks to the help of the community of this forum. These are the results of what I have been getting from this routine and I am starting to like them (the lighting in the pictures make things look better than they actually are, there is still some reddening if you look hard enough). My problems with it at this point is that there are still lots of red regions and spots that I want to get rid of. I am going about it with using the exfolaitor (or the 1% SA scrub you see in the picture of the products I have been using). What is going to get rid of these reddening scars. Many of them are lighter shades of red than the others which means that they are fading and will probably disappear within the coming weeks as long as I stick to my skin routine. Here is what I have been doing.

When I wake up in the morning I rinse and cleanse my face with the sensitive facial cleanser that's in the picture, than I apply the daily moisturizer that is also pictured. I repeat this process when I go to bed but every Wednesday I decided to use that facial scrub on the far right side of the picture. the product in the transparent bottle I hardly use for anything except for spots (and you can see how that turned out on my forehead, perhaps I left it there too long before rinsing it off?). Am I doing everything right and how long until this redness disappears, do I need to change anything and if so, what should it be. It should be noted that I haven't been using the spot corrector yet that you see on the far left. Also which production should I be using as an exfoliator? The one in the clear bottle, or the one on the far right hand side of the picture linked below.

These are the products that I have been using (except for the one on the far left, I just purchased it and haven't had a chance to apply it yet.)

In order to improve on the redness and rebuild the skin I was thinking of using an AHA Glycholic acid solution cream. This is then product that I have been looking for for a couple of hours, what do you think

So my skin barrier is messed up. And around my cheeks (mainly below eyes area). Is really messed up. I posted on this sub and got some advice. These are the products I purchased.

I'm looking for some advice.

How do I deal with blackheads on the tip of my nose.

I have spider veins on the sides of my nose as well as around my upper lips area. How do I go about removing these.

Would you recommend any other face wash? Something which has a bigger impact?

I'm a guy by the way.

Skin Type - It's pretty normal. Only oily on nose and forehead. Not super sensitive.
Thank You.

Bye bye pimples

u/Snarm · 3 pointsr/minimalism

Something like this is SO dependent on the skin you inhabit. My husband can wash his entire body (face, hair, errthing) with the same bar of Dr. Bronner's soap. If I try to do that, my hair is completely disgusting and my face breaks out in a rash and/or terrible cystic acne.

I use fewer products than a lot of people, but I wouldn't call my routine "minimalist" as such. However, every single thing I use is something that has made a massive difference in the way my skin looks and feels. 100% worth every penny and worth whatever clutter ends up in my shower.

In the shower I use the same product for my body and hair and a Cetaphil face wash. If I've worn makeup or gotten sweaty over the course of the day, I will use an oil cleanser too. I usually follow up with toner after washing my face, and then I don't need a moisturizer. Once or twice a week I'll use a physical exfoliant on my face and body as well. Also use eye cream 2x per day, and acne spot treatment when necessary. Super gnarly cystic acne gets ice or warm compresses and the big guns.

I almost never wear sunscreen and I know I should, but every single effing brand I have tried has made my face break out horribly after only a few uses. I try to stay indoors as much as possible, wear a big stupid hat, and only use sunblock if I'm going to be outside for more than half an hour at a stretch. Melanoma or cystic acne....decisions, decisions.

The rest of my body rarely requires moisturizer, but when my hands and feet do, I go balls-to-the-wall and do the Vaseline mitten/sock thing overnight.

u/fettolsiris · 2 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

I've always found the best way to remove flaky skin is with an enzymatic exfoliation. This one by MyChelle is a dupe for the $80 one by Kate Somerville Exfolikate. I do that once a week, and then use a physical exfoliation in between if I need to.

u/pnthollow · 2 pointsr/malefashionadvice

I've had horrible skin for several years and picked up this routine. My skin looks amazing now! Twice a Day: Wash Face > Toner > Moisturizer (one with SP-15 in the morning and one without at night). Once to twice a week: Wash Face > Face Scrub > Face Mask > Toner > Moisturizer. Kyoku products are my favorite and are highly praised in general. Some recommendations:

u/Freecandyhere · 2 pointsr/beauty

I use aha cream for wrinkles and a good concealer makeup as well.

Cream

Concealer

The concealer I use is a lot like erase paste by benefit but much cheaper.

u/letsgetdisco · 2 pointsr/news

Yeah, I use this stuff which has walnut shells in it.

u/bruskisbud0901 · 1 pointr/SkincareAddiction

I'll be honest, I've never used an AHA (alpha hydroxy acid). I know some are made with Glycolic Acid, and some with other ingredients, like lactic acid. There should be directions on anything you buy. If it is something like this, then you would leave it on, and definitely apply sunscreen after it has absorbed into your skin.

u/kyle_lam · 1 pointr/SkincareAddiction
  1. I did not patch test the cleanser or the moisturizer.
  2. I have been using the cleanser/moisturizer for about 5 weeks
  3. Up until now I had notice an improvement (though it could be due to the fact that I started washing my face in the morning and night instead of just at night around the same time as I started the cleanser/moisturizer). I have had pretty clear skin for a week or two and felt that things were going well until today.

  4. I normally use a single washcloth once before cleaning them.
  5. I forgot to mention I do use an exfoliate about twice a week but I don't think it is a chemical exfoliant. Kyoku Exfoliant Scrub
  6. I haven't heard of oil cleansing before, I am fairly new to this subreddit. I will have to check it out.
  7. I have tried a variety of cleansers and moisturizers with no long term success, I tried baking soda and apple cider vinegar washes before discovering it is pretty bad for your skin. I cut out dairy and sugar for two months without convincing results.
  8. I cannot figure out what the cause of the issue is. The latest idea I have turned my focus to, is that the water I am using to wash my face could be causing issues. I have read that hard water promotes acne and that you should use purified water to wash your face. I am going to give that a try but I feel pretty exhausted about the whole ordeal.
  9. My skin seems to be dry and feels irritated where the inflammation occurs.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, I hope that helps.
u/drivenlegend · 1 pointr/wicked_edge

I go for mechanical exfoliation myself using pads like this. I also sometimes use Bulldog Face Scrub somtimes. Over at /r/skincareaddiction they usually recommend using some sort of chemical exfoliation like a facial peel. I don't have any experience with that though. After you exfoliate, use a little witch hazel or similar to disinfect and be sure to moisturize too. It really does help.

u/SuddenSource · 1 pointr/Fungalacne

Hmm. For me, Cerave was awful for my forehead acne. I try to avoid it now. Have you ever considered using a charcoal based face wash?

Consider something like this. Once a night. Never more than once a day as it's strong. Just a smalll dab, rub it in your hands and gentlyyyy apply on your face. This and using a gel based moisturizer has been HUGE for my forehead issues.

I was perpetually plagued with dry, blotchy skin on my face, and this Aveeno face wash is pretty much the only thing that's helped, plus applying a daily sunscreen moisturizer.

combined with replacing soda, juice, and artificially-sweetened beverages with water.

Hi all, just took what will hopefully become "before" pictures of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation on my cheeks. I started using Alpha Hydrox's oil-free 10% glycolic acid treatment, which banished every last one of my active pimples within a week. Since the glycolic acid is already a pretty strong solution, what are some products I can safely use to help it do its job and dissolve the PIH marks? I also have Alpha Hydrox's 2% hydroquinone spot treatment, but haven't tried using it at the same time as the glycolic acid. Another thing I've started doing is sleeping with a clean washcloth on my pillow, which I suspect will be a major help since the side with more dark spots is the side I sleep on. Any other suggestions?
Current routine (day and night):
Kyoku for men (haha) scrub with Olay spin brush
Witch hazel + tea tree oil as toner
Queen Helene mint julep mask (every other night)
Alpha Hydrox oil-free 10% glycolic acid
*Pond's face lotion (night only)
Everything in this routine I've been using for the last 2 months with the exception of the glycolic acid. I've had PIH of about this severity for at least 2 years now.

u/FatTeemo · 1 pointr/AsianBeauty

I don't know whether sheet masks or tubes are better. I just know that she probably shouldn't use physical exfoliators because those would irritate her pimples and fruit enzymes are one of the milder chemical exfoliators. I haven't used those for awhile because I can use more potent exfoliators now, but this here is one of the mildest exfoliators that I've used that's also effective: http://www.amazon.com/MyChelle-Fruit-Enzyme-Scrub-2-3-Ounce/dp/B000MASTNI/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top. As long as she doesn't rub hard and use it once a week, it should be ok. Or she can just use the double cleansing method. Massaging oil on her face and then massaging another gel/foaming cleanser should be enough to keep most of the dead skin off.

u/UnluckyCoconut · 1 pointr/SkincareAddiction

New here and trying to up my skincare game.

A few months ago, I stopped using most products because I felt like I was drowning my skin in crap that I chose based on effective marketing more than anything else. I did a 180 and now use very few products. My skin seemed to calm down in some ways (fewer blackheads/dry patches, but more texture issues). I would describe my skin as combination, but it's hard to tell because I'm also an inveterate picker (trying to stop that!).

I've been looking over the wiki and I think I want to start adding in a few products to hopefully get my skin looking smoother, less red, and with no acne!

So here's my current routine:

AM:
Tone with Thayer's Lavender

PM:
Cleanse with Cetaphil Face
Tone with Thayer's Lavender

Occasionally:
(3x a week) Cetaphil cleanser on a exfoliating brush device (off brand clarisonic)

1-2x a month: Sand & Sky clay mask

**I get from the wiki that I should discontinue the brush as a physical exfoliater, so I will stop that now!

These are the products I'm thinking of adding to the routine:

La Roche-Posay sunscreen

Paula's Choice CLEAR Exfoliating Solution

Neutrogena Gel Boost Moisturizer (I actually already own this so I'd like to use it before I try something new)

So, two questions: I know I shouldn't just add all of these products in at once, but what order would you recommend adding them in? What should I prioritize? Also, is the La Roche Posay sunscreen something I should put on over a moisturizer in the morning? I know I need to get sun protection going but I'm worried about getting oily.

TIA, SCA!

EDIT: a word

u/almightywhacko · 1 pointr/wicked_edge

Most likely it is from the sharp cut end of hairs poking at your skin as it grows back in. This is even more likely the culprit if you stretch your skin a bit when shaving your neck.

Instead of scratching, when you feel this kind of irritation use a nice exfoliating scrub on the skin of your neck. Something like THIS would work. Use this scrub with a face clothe for best results exfoliating your skin.

If you don't want to use a face-scrub you could also just wet your shaving brush with hot tap water and use the bristles to scrub the skin of your neck. Follow up with a couple of splashes of witch hazel and you should be all set.

u/KikoSoujirou · 1 pointr/japan

This is fantastic, thank you! I think I'm going to go with Paula's Choice Clear Extra Strength Anti-Redness Exfoliating Solution with 2% BHA Salicylic Acid for Severe Acne.

Sunscreen is a bit more complicated with a lot of the products in your link now unavailable or more expensive on Amazon. I'll have to do more research. Is it generally better to get a standalone moisturizer and standalone sunscreen or just order one of the combo products?

u/TheTreester · 1 pointr/SkincareAddiction

The issue is although from starting I've cleared up maybe 50% of acne. The other 50% is still roaming around my cheeks and chin area. A few pimples here and there on my chin but a decent amount still remains on my cheeks. What should I do to get the remaining ones cleared up? Add something to my routine? Switch moisturizer?

This is a random question, so apologies in advance but I'm at my wit's end and hoping people here are knowledgeable enough to provide some advice.

I've used L'Oreal's Paris Go 360 Clean exfoliating scrub daily for years. I work out every day and get a buildup of dead skin and oil and gunk up near my hairline and this scrublet and scrub were perfect at getting my face clean. It's been recently discontinued and I'm devastated. Does anyone know what a close alternative would be? I can reuse the scrublet or find something similar, but I'm more concerned with the face wash. It contains 1% salicylic acid which is the perfect amount, 2% dries my skin out too much, and I think the beads are very helpful.

Really hoping you guys have some advice, thank you in advance!

Hi everyone, I'm new here, and new to skincare in general. Hoping to get some help with my acne and blemishes.

For background, I am male, turning 22 in the fall, and I've never really had a standard skincare routine. I hate putting stuff on my face in general. I tend to avoid moisturizers and creams and lotions and all that. I don't like the oily feeling, but I'll try putting up with it to help my acne. Always thought it would start naturally clearing up around this time in my life and never worried about it too much or looked it up. It's gotten a bit better recently, but I still get a lot of breakouts and this chronic big one on my left cheek too.

Thanks for any help in advance!

Issues: Acne and acne-related blemishes. Occasional, but minor, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. (Just learned that's what that is from reading through the sidebar stuff!)

Skin Type: I have no idea. I read through the link provided and still not sure how to classify. Combination I guess? I think my skin is slightly dry in general, but I tend to sweat a lot (especially with the hot Californian summer sun), so it gets oily sometimes.

Current Routine/How Long: I usually just wash my face with water pretty regularly. For most of my life (since I was about 15) I would use these two St. Ives acne-face washes (Apricot Scrub and Green Tea Scrub) anytime I showered. In the past couple months I've switched to this Neutrogena Daily Scrub and this Clean & Clear moisturizer, but I still use them pretty much just after showers. For about the last week or so, I've been trying to get into the habit of using them both daily. Was going to start trying twice a day for the scrub.

Anything New: Definitely a big increase in the frequency I use my cleaners. Using moisturizer more in this last week than ever before in my life too. Not a lot has changed so far though. My skin has just become a little softer I think.

Location: California Bay Area

I feel like it should also be known that I teach martial arts so I spend a lot of time running around getting sweaty and dirty and also a lot of time on the ground, sometimes facedown on the mat or getting other peoples' hands across my face. I've also been a terrible picker for a lot of my life, but I've been pretty good about it lately.

Here's some stuff I've been looking at trying from my research recently, including looking through this sub's awesome sidebar info.

  1. Stri-Dex Maximum Strength Medicated Pads OR

  2. Neutrogena Acne Stress Control Night Cleansing Pads

  3. Neutrogena Rapid Clear Stubborn Acne Spot Gel OR

  4. Neutrogena Rapid Clear Stubborn Acne Daily Leave-On Mask

  5. CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser

  6. CeraVe Moisturizing Cream

I also haven't looked into sunscreen at all because I have fairly dark skin and am pretty sun-resistant already. Other than Pokemon Go recently, I don't spend a lot of time exposed in the sun anyway. And when I do, it's usually early morning when it's not too strong, or around sunset when I go out after work. I hear it's kinda important though, so I would appreciate recommendations for that too.

Please and thank you to anyone who can help me! Sorry for the long post.

I've used pore strips and I've used this scrub

I also just looked at a product from Clinique that comes with a brush that moves like an electric toothbrush, and a few cleansing products. At $60 it wasn't cheap, but I plan to pick that up next week when they have their free gift with purchase promotion and see if that's even better than the Loreal.

u/kailibee · 1 pointr/MakeupAddiction

My routine is pretty simple. I'll start off by saying I'm pretty sure I have oily skin. It feels oily in the morning and kinda gets shiny sometimes. Ick!

In the morning, I start off by wiping my face down really good with a baby wipe. I love baby wipes. My makeup isn't waterproof (well my mascara should be but isn't, but I love it too much to give it up - Covergirl Flamed out in Very Black Blaze) so it comes off easily with them, and baby wipes are way cheaper. I know different oils are recommended, but I hate the feeling of oil on my face, especially since it's already oily. After that I apply moisturizer, let it soak in, sun screen, let that soak, then do makeup.

At the end of the day I take it all off gently using a baby wipe, making sure to get all of it off really well, then use this green tea scrub by St. Ives, really making sure to get all the yucky-ness of the day off. I really love it - it's a good price, and the first time after using it my skin felt amazingly soft and clean. Plus it's helping to control my light-moderate acne a lot! Yay! It does have those little micro beads or whatever though, so if you don't like those, then this will not work for you. Also has no oil, and 2% (I believe) salicylic acid for acne.

After the scrub, I splash water over my face (lightly, not like in the commercials haha) to get it off and pat my face dry with a clean towel. Then I apply my moisturizer again really well, and I'm set! I think a really good face wash is the key to getting your skin really clean. The baby wipes did their job well, but I felt a huge different after using a cleanser.

First off, good job deciding to take better care of your skin. It's your largest (and most exposed) organ of the body so it's essential to take proper care.

1.) Skin strips are no bueno. They temporarily pull out blackheads, but not fully so they will just come back as they are essentially "stuck" in there.

2.) Cleanse your skin AM/PM. You have oily skin so go with a cleanser with a lighter texture such as Cetaphil -(https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=cetaphil)

3.) Large pores can potentially be reduced as well as blackheads by using an exfoilant daily. The main types are BHA and AHA. I would go with a BHA exfoilant because it helps with acne by reducing redness and breakouts. AHA is mainly for dry/sun damaged skin which could potentially benefit you but I would start off with using BHA first (https://www.amazon.com/Paulas-Choice-Perfecting-Salicylic-Exfoliant/dp/B008EPP9Z4/ref=sr_1_20_s_it?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1467039242&sr=1-20&keywords=bha+exfoliant)

4.) It is still important to moisturize at night, but use a very light moisturizer such as cerave pm (https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=cerave+pm&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Acerave+pm).

Hi guys, never done this before, new routine to help with deep acne scars and/or discoloration.

Skin Type:Asian, light brown, oily and I break out easy.

Currently routine: Nip + Fab Extreme Night Pads after washing with Rockface Face wash with pore strips every once in a while. I read that I should wear moisturiser with some SPF protection so I'm trying to pick one. Here are some I found:

I use a St. Ives green tea blackhead clearing scrub, and I found it in my local grocery store. My skin is pretty hardy from years of trying to control acne, so what works for me may not work great for you. If your skin is pretty trouble free, I also use the St. Ives grapefruit brightening scrub, and it makes my skin super shiny and fresh ✨ Both smell really nice, which was the dealmaker for me.

I hope your adventures in makeup go well! Have fun!

So I'm still new to this stuff. Basically looking to change up my routine as it doesn't seem to be working. Recently my face has been breaking out more than usual and I feel horrible about it that I feel bad even leaving the house. I can't afford a dermatologist so I'm hoping I could get some help here.

I'm about 23/M and I started my small skincare routine about two months back with my sister's help.. I think I have a dehydrated & blemish prone skin profile (see pics below) :l

Pic 1 | Pic 2

Morning:

- Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser

Evening: (before bed)

- Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser

- Perfectly Pure Rose & Witch Hazel Toner

- St. Ives Renewing Collagen & Elastin Moisturizer

Occasionally:

- Queen Helene Gentle Oatmeal 'n Honey Natural Facial Scrub (3-4 times a week)

- Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay (once a week)

Thanks in advance

I'm a 17y/o with acne and oily skin, It gets really dry after washing with this cleanser, even after applying CeraVe moisturizer, followed by a Benzoil peroxide topical cream. I do this each night, should I change the cleanser to something else? My acne is better than it use to be but still very present and I have red marks.

I use this L'Oreal cleanser to wash my face and this Lubriderm lotion to prevent dryness.

Hello SCA!

Skin Type: Balanced, combination. I get seasonal dryness, no oiliness otherwise. No acne. Occasional pimple once every 8 months.

Current Routine: Just wash my face in the shower with whatever I can find. Usually a daily scrub off the shelf.

Location: Upstate New York

I don't have a problematic skin. No pimples or acne since I was a teenager, but they have left me with very little ice-pick scarring near my eyes. It's hardly noticeable.

I'm just looking for a more even toned, brighter skin. Here's what I have in my cart so far after reading the SCA Routine from wiki. Please approve or help make ammendments. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Scrub, 2.5 Ounce (Plan on using it once or twice a week)

Aveeno Positively Radiant Brightening Cleanser (For AM/PM cleansing)

Aveeno exfoliating daily scrub (For daily AM/PM use)

Neutrogena Oil Free Moisture - SPF 35 (for sunny days)

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream (for non-sunny day moisturizing)

Kiehl's Vitamin C (for nightly use)

I'm mildly wary of chemical exfoliation and cleansing, only because I've never had any problems and I don't want any new problems from taking off too much skin. What do you guys think?

u/ShadowX22 · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

I've been using this Aveeno scrub for some time, and it works pretty well. The good part is that it really does help clean and is oil-free which is great for me. At that price I have yet to find a better scrub.

But my girlfriend recently turned me onto this Ocean Salt Scrub from Lush. While much more expensive, leaves my skin feeling amazing afterwards. Also works great before a shave too.

Ok...Here we go! This is a very relevant topic to me so get ready for a long reply ha!

I have cystic acne that only came up after going off of birth control a year ago. I've tried SO MANY things, but nothing worked! It wasn't until we started TTC when I was taking more vitamins that it finally got better, but it was still not great.

I found a routine that keeps it in check though and it involves Manuka Oil! My skin is in the best shape it has ever been! So here is what I found that works for me:

AM: I wash my face with Era Organics Natural Face Wash. About 3x per week I use their scrub. Then mix a little bit of Manuka Oil with CeraVe AM Moisturizer then apply Bare Minerals powder concealer.

PM: I remove my make up as soon as I get home from work with Micellar Cleansing Water and wash with the Era Organics face wash. Then I put a little bit of organic sweet almond oil along with the manuka oil on a cotton round and apply that to my face to moisturize. Sometimes I'll swap out the almond oil for CeraVe PM moisturizer, but the almond oil seems to help a little better.

Along with this routine, I take 30 mg of zinc and the recommended dose of vegan DHA every day, 5000 IU of vitamin D M-F, along with my prenatal. But I swear by the zinc. Here is a little information on why zinc helps with acne.

As for my chest and back (I get pimples there too but not cystic) I've been putting witch hazel and manuka oil on a cotton round every morning/evening and it has really helped clear it up! Granted I just started this routine a week ago so I hope it continues!!!

For someone who has struggled with this to the point of tears, I finally feel like I have it under control!!

The scrub comes with the loreal 360. Size might be a bit different, but it's cheaper and the 360 smells like heaven. :)

I use a gentle scrub by Aveeno. It feels more like a cream cleanser, that's how gentle it is. I would never use anything harsh or abrasive as it's sure to just make things worse.

u/iEatPorcupines · 1 pointr/SkincareAddiction

As a beginner I have some dumb questions. So I started a routine and I read on here that it’s better to use cold water. How long should I wash my face with cold water before using the cleanser? I'm using these pads and I don't know if I should wash my face after using them?

I have this exfoliant. thoughts?

Also, are there any other stuff I should know? I used the ScA routine and mainly those products to create my routine.

u/IAmAchrysanthemumAMA · 1 pointr/curlyhair

another zinc option would be L'oreal EverFresh--I have seborrheic dermatitis as well, and the EverWhatever line is sulfate free. I used to use Niozoral, but the sulfates messed with my curls and it actually made my dandruff worse in the winter sometimes since it can be too drying. Using the Everfresh shampoo and using oil on my scalp when it itches (I DIY mine and have some arnica oil in there which works as a topical analgesic to stop the pain and itching) has made all the difference for me.

Daily:
splash my face with cold water

Morning wash my face with Garnier Cleanser followed by Toner, Renewal Serum, then I massage my face & massage in moisturizer, followed by some (mostly for the smell) aftershave, and I massage my hairline with Vitamin E Oil, & after it feels like my face has absorbed it, i usually start applying sun protection for eyes and then the rest of my face & neck, exposed skin (arms, legs, etc) protection and hands

while at night, i take a shower (usually after a bit of exercise) and cleanse my face with cleanser lotion and my with a good body wash and follow later on (usually before i go to sleep) with another facial cleansing using the Garnier pure essentials & then some night cream

and I usually repeat this routine daily with the exceptions that I don't put the sun protection on when I won't be going outside in the day-time and I usually skip it all one day out of every week to let my skin rest

Non-daily:
On top of that, I usually try to shave facial hair every few days. I start by putting a hot rag over my face, then I use a cotton ball to rub on baby oil

and I exfoliate once a week (my body & my face) using a good facial exfoliating scrub that's either L'Oreal or the Body Shop and I use the same scrubber from the L'Oreal one for both
and scub my body with one of three scrubs using exfoliating gloves

after exfoliating my face, I usually follow with a moisturizing mask (using Honey, Fresh Lemon Juice, and Whole Wheat Flour) & I usually try to do it on the beginning of the week (Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday) so I can follow 3 days later with another one. If on Sunday, then I follow on Wednesday with a non-homemade mask and I try to follow at the end of the week (Thursday, Friday, or Saturday) with a 2nd homemade mask (Using caramel, baking soda, an egg yolk, whole milk, and 100% cocoa powder)

then, I usually moisturize my face and my body. I also try to moisturize my body at least once a week (sometimes more) by taking a bath using 2-cups of milk, fresh lemon juice (1/2 - 1 whole lemon), sometimes some honey, and specially formulated bubble bath.

I try to mix this with a relatively regular exercise schedule (cardio around 5 days a week (I'm researching different weigh-lifting regimens & Yoga & Calisthenics to add to this)) & a balanced diet (alot of fiber, fruit (daily), lots of water, vegetables when I can (salads, veggie sandwhiches when I can (I might start drinking a daily V8 for more)), White & Green Tea daily, limited sweets (usually just a nutrigrain when I do))

So, if you've actually read to this point I salute you. My question is if there's anything generally wrong with this routine (other than price & the fact that it shows my level of OCD)
