I used this as well. Threw on a couple rubber chair tips (Like these) to angle the board and stained the shelf with a bit of leftover stain. Easiest thing in the world to do, and it looks great!

BRK (a maker of smoke alarms) suggests keeping at least 20 feet (6M) between a source of unvented combustion products such (as a stove) and the nearest smoke detector.
In my experience an opening between rooms, even with the bit of partition sticking down from the ceiling, is not enough of a separation to stop false alarms from cooking-spills onto burners or hot oven walls. So my suggestion is both to keep the alarms on the kitchen-level as distant from the kitchen as is practical (while meeting other requirements) and to make sure the model nearest to the kitchen is both a model with a "hush" function and that it is mounted in a spot where access to the "hush" button is reasonably safe. Such false alarms always happen when you have houseguests, and as a guest I've seen some risky acrobatics and dangerous climbing upon furniture in order to MAKE THAT THINGS STOP NOW!
With a vaulted ceiling, that may mean having a long dowel with a rubber chair leg tip on the end, readily accessible in a nearby cabinet or coat closet. When ceilings are not vaulted and local regulations allow it I'll wall-mount the detector that is closest to the kitchen, as even being a foot down from the ceiling will put it within reach of many adults.
As an aside, it looks like you are going to end up with 7 or more smoke detectors in a single house. Having lived through interlinked smoke detector "end of life" in a few places, I would consider getting the sort of voice-alert detectors where each can be programmed with a location-name. That makes identifying which detector is sounding exponentially easier and faster.

Don't use them with my rudder pedals though, CH Pro Pedals require light enough pressure that my chair doesn't move.

Just 2 on the back 2 wheels keeps me from rolling (setting up all 5 is a pain the ass). I don't move at all, but I'm sure it depends on what type of flooring you have.

Nice work! After finally making the jump to salt, I've become a firm believer in fighting butts. I gave a little thought to something like what you've done here, but I finally decided that I'm too lazy and ended up buying a bunch of rubber chair / table leg stoppers like THIS. They do fine once you find the right size - if nothing else they keep your end caps from getting scratched up.

I have one and it's nice that you can't see it. But really, who thought to put wheels on a bed?? Depending on your floor, yes you can lean against the wall. Also, Amazon sells these. They help. But, if you're having some fun and active sex, well, the wheels will still pop out. This happened to me last weekend and the bed ended up on the other side of the room.
I know a lot of people say noisy/squeaky, but so far, mine is pretty darn quiet. My boyfriend's however is obnoxious.

Three years ago, I bought these to stop my office chair from rolling while braking. I'm still using them without issue.
Not sure if it would help, but you should definitely isolate your turntable spikes and your cabinet casters anyway. Why not do this and just keep the cabinet closed? Also, maybe move the shelf up a notch, put your amp, eq, and cd player on the bottom shelf, and move your turntable to the top shelf.

Another DiY option - using a power drill. Made it myself using these leg tips, purchased from Amazon. I found rolling the paint less of a mess than shaking them as shown here.

Depending on how often you shoot, I soak a clean, new patch in Ballistol and coat the barrel, let it sit for as long as you can the longer the better.
Then I use a bore Squeeg-E from Remington and that help get a lot of copper and lead out of a bore!!
