It was part of a Prime/Gamecube bundle. The first disc is Prime and the second is like a demo disc for Prime 2.

Edit: Here's an Amazon link

It's not the chainsaw controller, but there is a guy who comes to my local meets and uses the Gamecube ASCII Controller. It's huge and clunky, just in a completely different (far more functional) way.

You can purchase an add-on that takes care of that for ya.

Buy yourself one. As a matter of fact why don't you just buy every single one since you're so concerned.

This came with the Metroid Prime Platinum Gamecube bundle (at least that's how I got it anyways).

It took me a minute too to find some base info. I've frequented this reddit for quite a while. The thing is, I'm not finding solid info. There seems to be two different versions of this bundle. One is a Platinum Gamecube bundle (in which the actual console is Platinum in color) and the other is the Radioshack Platnium Gamecube bundle, which comes with a black console.

This link has the exact box I've got, minus the games which I first mentioned. In that link, it links to the Amazon page

But none of the descriptions really fit what is included in this Radioshack bundle. Which is why this leads me to believe this may be a little more rare than that Amazon product.

This site goes into detail about the bundle and what's included, which differs from mine.

I've got the Jet Black console vs the Platnium. My bundle also includes a Afterglow controller, controller extensions, and a link cable.

Even if it ends up not selling or whatever, I think I've got a nice little collectors item for my man cave anyways. $40 isn't a huge sink of money, especially with this being the final piece in my 2000s Nintendo collection.

The "Spice Orange" GameCube was a Japan exclusive.

However, the US did get orange controllers.

Regarding your keyboard question, the 4.0.0 update made the switch compatible with Gamecube controllers. That said, if you really want a keyboard........

There's always this bad boy.

You wish. GameCube on Amazon is $50 + shipping and MKDD is $44 + shipping if you want it in the original case.

After that, I imagine you'll want controllers...

Pretty cheap here and here

Seems like for these listings it's $50 USD +

Better luck at a thrift store for probably half the price.

And the item description page (if you go to purchase the item where it gives you the opt in to trade one in) specifically says - no controller.

Hey look Nintendo must still be making Gamecubes! There's some on Amazon after all...

Just because it is available does not mean it is still in production. I bought one of these for about $16 after they first came out. Right now the only way to get one is to pay an inflated price and buy through a third-party seller on Amazon, eBay, etc. Good luck finding one in a store.

I have one of these and use it for Civ5. The most comfortable way to hold it is in both hands (like you would hold this). There is a left mouse button on the far top left corner, and it works well. Civ5 presents a problem where I want to press and hold the right mouse button while moving the trackpad, and I can't do that with both hands wrapped around. I end up sitting it on my lap, using the arrow keys for the camera with my left hand and the left mouse button/trackpad with the right hand. It works, but isn't ergonomic and my hand tires from a slightly twisted angle.

tl;dr: There is room for improvement in games, but the K400 is likely better for the web.

HELL. NO.

Because then you end up with these monstrosities.

For this wondering, yes, this is real.

Let's do that. Hell, I'll even do it with Nintendo's own consoles.

>Nintendo Entertainment System (1985)

  • Launched at $200.
  • Adjusted for inflation to $412.
  • Best list price (new) $345.
  • $67 under inflation.

    >Super Nintendo Entertainment System (1991)

  • Launched at $200.
  • Adjusted for inflation to $332.
  • Best list price (new) $999. (Lowest is $288, but appears used.)
  • $667 over inflation.

    >Nintendo 64 (1996)

  • Launched at $200.
  • Adjusted for inflation to $289.
  • Best list price (new) $509.
  • $320 over inflation.

    >Gamecube (2001)

  • Launched at $200.
  • Adjusted for inflation to $259.
  • Best list price (new) $260.
  • $1 over inflation.

    >Wii (2006)

  • Launched at $250.
  • Adjusted for inflation to $284.
  • Best list price (new) $600.
  • $316 over inflation.

So, in conclusion, with the exception of the NES, every single Nintendo console is currently selling in it's original packaging for more than what it sold for (including inflation).

Edit : Since I know you're likely to ask how I calculated inflation, I didn't, I borrowed a Reddit post that had the data nicely compiled.
