You shouldn't wrap your cord at all. The cable is composed of multi-threaded copper and constantly wrapping it around the controller like that over time tears the copper threading. The better route to go is to purchase some custom length twist-tie roll (like this) and do a soft fold in half from end to controller leaving a little room between the initial fold and the controller. The twist tie does not put enough stress to mold the cable or allow the threading to tear.

i use to get my twist ties at smart and final when they had them with this nice paper covering. those were great. then they switched to a plastic/paper covering which felt super cheap and fell apart half the time.

care to share where you get yours? im looking around on amazon and i think i might have found some good ones here but im not sure if im willing to spend 16 bucks to find out if they're any good or not.
