The hair tie holder was super easy to make! I just used one of the kraft boxes I had leftover and cut out 6 pieces. Then used the washi tape and stickers I had to decorate, wrote the name (highly recommend using a pencil/erasable pen first if you have no calligraphy skills/terrible hand writing like me LOL), and stuck the hair tie on!

I also purchased a label maker ($10) but didn't include it in the final price because I was planning on buying one anyways!

Gag gift box

But im tempted to get one and fill it with matches, kindling and a small gas can.

u/platinumgulls · 8 pointsr/funny

FYI this is a "prank box". My buddy gave me a few of these - they're hilarious.

There are 2 amazing ones if I remember for kids. Toddlers first fire had a picture of a Toddler sitting next to a camp fire with a plastic gasoline hose on it. There was another one for baby weights that attached to their legs so they cant run as fast, and they had a picture of a baby with SHREDDED legs on the box.

Generally it's not. Wrapping paper just doesn't hold up to the shipping process. You can wrap it in kraft paper but that only comes in a particular shade of brown (for identification purposes).

u/Beamformer · 3 pointsr/raisedbyborderlines

Funny, so i have to tell it. Dirty santa gift (so no intended target) i got one of those gag gift boxes covered with a fake ridiculous product marketing. It was the nap sack, a sack you put over your head with a built in fan, great for meetings, church, etc. To compound the joke i put an electric heating pad (the gift) in the box that actually looked like the fake product cover. Here's the box
So BPD MIL gets the lucky draw, and looks at the box for 30 seconds. She gets so pissed, she won't even open it. My wife coaxes her into opening it, and then more to actually take it out, which just makes her even more angry. It wasn't yelling type angry, just intense silent brooding. Never cracked a smile and seemed angry at me for quite awhile afterwards. So whatever you get, put it in one of those fake boxes ;)

u/kkehoe5 · 3 pointsr/videos

Wife got me this NapSack for Christmas. I was disappointed it wasn't real. Wish I had a picture of the other side. It had a pilot wearing it.

Edit: Found it on Amazon.

u/akamarco · 3 pointsr/Etsy

My first thought for a simple inexpensive package would be these little organza bags since they come in large bundles and look nice. They would still fit in your bubble packaging with a card too.

This is not a real product. It's a prank box.

u/Blackeye30 · 3 pointsr/Leathercraft

For me it depends on the item, generally an appropriately-sized kraft box (flat like a jewelry box), with this kind of stuff as a bed inside. Outside I use a wax seal and stamp and then tie the box with leather lace. Honestly this was kind of the first thing I came up with but I will likely change it at some point. Looks like this all together.

u/WPGSquirrel · 3 pointsr/Degus

Dont scimp on the wheel. Get a good one.

Make sure they have toys; they love to stack things

Have an area in mind for free roaming. A bathroom can work in a pinch.

A blacklight for cleaning around their cage. I love em but they are mess little dudes.

A cheap toy is take an alligator clip and hook it to their cage bars.

If they aren't socialable at first, take it slow. They have a lot of personality and simply might be cautious.

Have a smaller cage ready for emergencies like a pair fighting and needing to be seperated or a trip to the vet.

A low watt heat lamp will be their favourite thing if you can set one up.

They aren't smelly guys but dont scimp on cleaning. Be prepared to sweep daily.

Simple brown crinkle paper ie https://www.amazon.com/Natural-Crinkle-Basket-Filler-Bedding/dp/B00QPOBDJW?ref_=Oct_CARAsinC_8147501011_0 makes for cheap bedding that they can dig through. Just make sure it doesnt have ink and is debris free.

Oilseed/sunflower seeds make for a great treat for them and are easy on the pocketbook.

Maybe bird netting might be easier to work with than chicken wire. If you have a small area and a fence, it's easy to tie the netting to posts or tall poles you can use the fence to support. I've been using electrical conduit with metal stakes for trellises and it's held up for the most part. Here's the video I got the idea from. More expensive than just wood, but should last longer:

Another thing you could try for fruit-like things would be organza bags.

They come in different sizes and you just use the drawstring to tie it off. I never used them, but I recently bought a bunch from Amazon (not the one I linked). They probably sell it at Ben Franklin. There's a craft shop in Kalihi I remember getting these things from for our wedding, but that was 7 years ago and I can't remember the name of the place.

Did your tomatoes have any symptoms prior to dying? Ewa is really hot, so it could have been the heat. If it was too hot, maybe try giving it some shade with a tall plant or tree, or plant it on the north or east side of your house.

u/Otakulad · 2 pointsr/funny

I love how there is an app that you can use to control the fan and built in white noise machine. And it's less than $8 on Amazon with 4/5 stars.

I can't remember if they were always listed as an add-on item but at least this can be a good start! They've worked out well for me and I haven't noticed any scent merging as I store everything together (bath bombs in one jar, bubble bars in another, soaps in another). 😊

u/StitchThePirate · 2 pointsr/LushCosmetics

Cellophane bags can help! Cellophane is made from cellulose (plants) and is what you will find used at bakeries or food facilities to package cookies and such. It has low permeability to air, oils, greases, bacteria, and water, which means it should help with your humidity issue. Tupperwear and Ziploc bags are made of different plastics that can suck the scents from products.

I use these for bombs/bigger bar soaps: 6x9 Clear Resealable Cellophane Bags

and these for smaller bubble bars, soaps, etc: 4x6 Clear Resealable Cellophane Bags

One thing I should've mentioned... run this idea past your sister/MOH first, in case she's doing something already similar to this. Just say something like "I want to make a little something for everybody as a Thank You, what do you think of ____?"

And since your sister would "know" what your idea is for the rest of the girls, and because she is planning this, get her something extra or different as a Thank You :) Maybe like a necklace, fav perfume, wristlet, gift card to her fav store, OR an extra large bottle of wine haha. Besides the alcohol, Amazon (Prime, if you have) is awesome in terms of your timeline right now.

Not sure what your budget is, but here are some ideas:

You need to get some flags and reduce the reflections. Don't be afraid to clone out those in post as well. I'm not sure what the green and red thing is between the can and glass is? Is that the bag the beans are in? Try something like a small burlap bag. It can fit the feel of the shot better and you don't need to worry about hiding logos and brands names that aren't part of what you are showing.

Overall that's looking good.

u/[deleted] · 1 pointr/gameswap

wish I had seen this sooner, and yes I can help

Bubble mailer is a definite no, at least by itself

Here's what you do:

  • Go to the post office, take some small priority flat rate boxes. They are like 2X6X9 or something close to that

  • go to Dollar Store(I use Dollar Tree typically)

  • either buy a roll of this for $1 or get some padded mailers(the bigger ones, #2 maybe?)

  • get some bubble wrap

    Now for the shipping part:

  • wrap that jewel case as good and tight as you can with the bubble wrap

  • jam it in the flat rate box. Close it, make sure its not going to move and that all sides are protected

  • seal it off, like you typically would if you were using this as your mailing method

  • (now the fun part)

  • Either stuff the box in the bubble mailer(yes it will fit, just go in straight and be careful) or wrap the box up really good(like a gift) in the kraft paper, and tape the shit out of that bitch, making sure to cover all the seams

your $5 priority mail flat rate box is now just any random box, your game is protected, and it should cost about $2.50 to ship with Paypal

I've done this with at least 200 of my trades, never a problem

I don't know anything about LED strips; but for LED-in-hilt blades you can make them yourself for cheap (well, cheap in bulk, for a one-off it'd probably be more expensive):

Like these you think? https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07QL9KTBL/ref=sspa_mw_detail_0?ie=UTF8&psc=1 might try ordering these and trying it just wanted to see if someone knew for sure cause I see a lot of collectors use them on their expensive decks

u/moraris · 1 pointr/KingdomDeath

I was thinking about it and the closest material I could compare it to is the plastic wrapping they use for bouquets... this stuff: https://www.amazon.com/Adorox-Inch-Clear-Cellophane-specifications/dp/B0170H8TL2/ref=pd_sbs_201_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=TQTYE9NQ5W2Z2YASN58E

I think you'd have to try to find the thinnest version of it you could though so the box closes properly. If you try it, let me know how it turns out. Super curious now :)

I am picturing either hospital gown type material(a little more durable), or for super colorful fun, like colorful tissue paper, like for gift bags!
Not sure size works though, but you could layer multiple colors for a rainbow of fun! ;-)

I know you mentioned you want to avoid waxes but I swear by this specific “wax” from Gatsby.

My hair is naturally thick (Islander genes) and unlike pomades and most waxes, this stuff has a matte appearance and pretty creamy consistency. What’s great is that the following day, it will keep its hold but have a more natural look. It doesn’t flake at all either. I’ve tried most brands - Crew, Murray’s, Paul Mitchell, etc.

I’ll usually use argon oil to weigh down the back of my hair and then Gatsby for the front. If there is a Japanese supermarket near you, they sometimes have sample containers set out for customers to try.

u/blackandyellownut · 1 pointr/frugalmalefashion

Both products, Perfect Hold and Spiky Edge, don't make your hair rock-hard so they won't leave any white solidified flake. You can even re-style your hair after awhile you first apply them- this may make you think that these waxes are not strong but they really are(especially the spiky edge). It's hard to describe their texture so see this video FYI: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UH6SUHBIy9c

Moving Rubber Spiky Edge is definitely on the strong side of holding. If strong hold is your priority, I'd say try Spiky Edge first. If you want natural style and yet strong hold for a day, I recommend style with wax/cream first and finish with spray.

Where you can buy:

Lived in a room like this and made it work well. For cheap get frame like this http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S29007794/ they look nice. Then get some bed roller things for storage. Those picture frames look like a bit too much and the mirror. Get a wall one with a thin thin frame. Just avoid blocky black frames. A lot of stuff you see is designed for big houses.

Keep colors lighter white, muted earth tones, with the occasional muted pastels for contrast. Think earthy or cool light grays with the occasional muted teal or muted salmon. Match that with a jute rug maybe or a rug that isn't busy.

Make sure you have good smells in the room. Throw some lavender in a bag. Good standing lamp with a warm light. You might need something for the windows so you can sleep. Get blinds instead of curtains. Again something that is light.

Just in general avoid anything black, vibrant colors, big patterns, or heavy textures. Avoid these things, but if you find something down the line that looks good you can work it in without it being overwhelming.

u/HereForTheLulz · -1 pointsr/IndianFood

Toast your spices in a separate pan, and then add them in a bouquet garni. This is especially useful for spices like green cardamom and whole peppercorns, which are harder to remove after cooking. For any recipe that calls for whole spices, I usually multiply the amount by 1.5 if using a bouqet garni, since the flavors don't permeate the dish as efficiently as if just put in as is.

I use these bags from Amazon: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A4GRZNK

They're cheap enough that you can just toss them after a single use, but if you want to go the extra mile you can rinse, wash and reuse them if you're dedicated.

By using a bouqet garni, you get the flavor from your favorite whole spices, but not the undesired texture.
