These are always great to have on hand. The burps are killer though.

Ginger chews! I personally like the ones by Chimes, and you can order a multi-flavor pack from Amazon. They're 16 calories a piece, and while tasty, not as addicting as chocolate so the calories don't add up as fast. :D

Chimes Original Ginger Chews, 1-pound bag https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005ISUOEQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_UXKKAbWBYYX4E

I got tired of being teased with 2 or 3 in a kratom order and then none at all so I bought a couple lbs.

u/Throwawaypoppys · 6 pointsr/kratom

Oh well, that's why I bought a bag from him last time. You can find them other places and there are different brands of ginger chews. ALSO if you are into your skin feelin GREAT after you shower or bathe, I suggest at the very least trying his Peppermint Tea Tree Activated Charcoal soap, my skin has been dry for decades (its hereditary) and Its never felt as good after soap, unless I used that charcoal soap he has. :)

Ginger Chews in a jar on your computer desk, now!

Dramamine if it gets so bad you just want to sleep it all off.

Eventually, you should build up a tolerance.

u/cg001 · 5 pointsr/PS4

Play some of the demos that came with it. I played rush of blood for about a week and never really had problems except for rigs.

Theres also getting your 'vr legs'. The more you play vr the less you get motion sickness.

Or you can get ginger candy. That gets rid of vr sickness ive heard

u/jag-lkn · 4 pointsr/Narcolepsy

I carry ginger chews (like Prince of Peace Ginger Candy 4.4 oz. (Pack of 2) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0779PY9KC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_iXGKDbVKER433) with me all the time. Used to have more gastro issues, but they work wonders. I could live w/taking Rx and ginger Chee together every morning. Hope it goes away soon for you!

u/dark_rabite · 4 pointsr/GirlGamers

Katamari and Dead Space both have made me motion-sick, out of all the games i've played, its just those two.

Katamari i love too, its such a shame =/

Ginger is my go-to for travel and in general. At your local asian market, you should be able to get some ginger chews super cheap.

this is an amazon link for the example of what to look for.

They'll probably only have one brand or whatever, but i've never been in an asian market that didn't have them.

and more time. I wasn't fully over it until probably 30 hours in and doing touch and goes on a hot windy day.

u/NotNotACylon · 3 pointsr/BB30

Ginger really is pretty good for nausea. BUT, ginger ale has very little or no real ginger in it. It's no better than sprite. Ginger beer (it's non-alcoholic) will work well though. You can find it at fancier grocery stores. I also used a lot of chewy ginger candy (gin gins) and a hot ginger drink (ginger honey crystals). Warning, these are all very spicy because they have a high concentration of real ginger.

That being said, there's no shame in getting anti-nausea medication either. D what works for you.

u/cwcoleman · 3 pointsr/backpacking

Buying 'stuff' for a backpacker is complicated. Since everything must go into a single pack and be carried - weight and bulk are important factors. Every item is critiqued and most travelers will already know what they want/need. Buying a random item can be hit-or-miss.

Think about small or consumable items. Don't be embarrassed if they want to return your gift for something they actually need.

----

How about a gift card to a local shop that sells travel gear?

A folding water bottle can be valuable. I bet your friend already has one, or plans to use a disposable plastic bottle - but this may work.

u/Jess_Starfire · 2 pointsr/RandomActsOfPolish

I used to be a singer so I got all of the tricks

tea with honey. You can do tea with lemon but I always found lemon to hurt my throat more than help. Also lots of water and clear liquids.

Ginger candies. Even though they are ginger chews, just suck on them like a cough drop

these

these are my favorite and a bit stronger in the ginger flavor

u/RiverTrails · 2 pointsr/kratom

I don't buy chews, so i don't really have any suggestions for candied ginger brands; sorry..

I brew and drink ginger tea that I make periodically and use it as a culinary. I have a ginger tincture that I made that i keep around for occasional/acute issues. Most people like Chimes brand. I sometimes get prince of peace ginger tea packets; It's an instant tea of ginger, cane sugar and honey (iirc) - basically the same thing as candies but meant to go into drink easily. Dissolves into water (even cold water, given time and some stir/shaking). I used to be big on the instant ginger tea thing when i was working early morning labor; it was like my coffee, i loved them and they made me feel good.

u/HoodratHoochiemama · 2 pointsr/Parenting

My MIL found these great ginger chews for me that were tasty but not overpowering and helped, http://www.amazon.com/Ginger-People-Original-Chews-3oz/dp/B000BP1SDM.

Also, I second how important it is to eat something as soon as you get hungry. Even if it's just some crackers or something. I found mine to intensify dramatically if I let my hunger get the best of me. Good luck :)

u/tygrshel · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

You should try Biscoff cookies they are awesome! And they are those cookies you get on airplanes.

And I want to try those mango gummy/candy, because I love mangoes and haven't tried a mango candy before.

I also suggest you try ginger candy if you haven't before. It tastes good, but has some heat to it, not too much though.

And try Teavana Blueberry Bliss Rooibos tea and Pineapple Kona Pop together! It's like a fruit punch or something!!! Mmmmmmmm

u/HeavensTouch · 2 pointsr/BreakingBumps

Yes, the ginger tea was just awful to get down! Oh the ginger extract gave me WICKED heartburn but took antacids to help mellow that out. They have an all natural ginger candy that is pretty good as well that I started to love https://smile.amazon.com/Ginger-People-Original-Chewy-Candy/dp/B000LKX4FW/ref=sr_1_5_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1481882476&sr=8-5&keywords=ginger+candy

never tried this flavor but people seem to like it but I have to imagine its pretty good as the plain ginger was shockingly good.

u/fortheshitters · 2 pointsr/oculus

I keep a bag of these handy for guests.

u/flamingopanic · 2 pointsr/ChronicPain

I'd recommend getting a little of each and seeing which ones help your pain the best (avoid getting any tinctures, extracts, or anything stronger than regular kratom, as this will be very strong and increase your tolerance). You'll want to get a kitchen scale to measure out your doses accurately (one that measures in grams).

Start low, with 3 grams or so, and increase by 0.5 g each time you take it until you get the results you are looking for. Then stay at that dose as long as possible. Make sure you take it when you get up and have an empty stomach, and avoid taking it with dairy, as this will coat your stomach and hamper the effects.

I also recommend getting a blender bottle to mix it in a liquid. I recommend shaking it up with either strong orange juice (get frozen OJ and use a bit less water than it calls for) or chocolate or dark chocolate almond milk. It tastes like shit, so be prepared for that.

It also makes some people nauseated, so I recommend getting some Chimes ginger chews and eating 2 of those after you take your kratom so that your tummy is okay. Ginger also has some antiinflammatory properties itself.

I take 2 of these capsules about 30 minutes prior to taking my kratom, as it is said to potentiate the kratom and also have antiinflammatory properties, and then I take 1.5 g agmatine sulfate right before taking my kratom, as it helps keep tolerance down and helps keep any withdrawals at bay if I can't take my kratom right on time.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask me. I truly believe that kratom saved my life. I'm still in pain, obviously, but it treats it well enough (and without being a drugged up zombie) that it's worth it. It does still make you a bit high when you take a higher dose, but nothing on the level of prescription narcotics.

Also, you should visit /r/kratom and/or /r/KratomKorner. Those are both great communities for people who use kratom, and you can get answers to a lot of your questions there. Good luck! I hope it works as well for you as it has for me.

u/TheLoCoRaven · 2 pointsr/PSVR

I like these ones, but I don't actually need them for VR. I haven't had any motion sickness with PSVR since the first day.

Not to sound like a shill but Trader Joe's has a lot of ginger stuff.

These are really good.

u/ItsYourMotherDear · 2 pointsr/kratom

They are chews. Ginger mixed with orange or mango or peanut butter, etc. Many of the vendors send them with your order. peanut butter

u/16-bitch · 2 pointsr/Anxiety

THESE are amazing for nausea! They’re really strong ginger gummies, and they come in other flavors too. Whenever I feel like I’m seriously about to throw up, I take one, and it actually works.

u/Prometheus4620 · 2 pointsr/cigars

I have found that ginger chews help a lot

u/ksprincessjade · 2 pointsr/kratom

i think you're just taking too much and possibly too often, just take like half of what you've been taking and only dose like twice a day. Kratom has a sort of plateau effect where you feel good up to a point, but taking more after that will just cause the alkaloids to build up in your body and basically cancel out the good effects

BTW i get stomach pains sometimes too, just make sure you're drinking enough water, and i've also found that those ginger chew candies help settle the stomach amazingly

u/CarlSagan4Ever · 2 pointsr/Gastroparesis

These are my favorite ginger candies :)

u/noideaeither · 2 pointsr/Ultramarathon

I'm a big fan of Ginger Chews. You can get a pack at Trader Joes for like $2 (Gingins). I don't even like ginger that much, but these really help, and have calories!

You can also get them on Amazon, of course: http://www.amazon.com/Ginger-People-Original-Chews-3oz/dp/B000BP1SDM

u/JohnnyPlainview · 2 pointsr/ibs

lol blood I got you! edit: it's muuuuuuuch cheaper at TJ's like, $2.5 or something

For the diet, I generally follow the Monash app.

u/SG804 · 2 pointsr/rva

A cook I used to work with introduced me to this stuff.

It's awesome hot or cold and is pretty handy for sauces and whatnot as well. They have it at Tan A for about the same price as Amazon.

Also mixes OK with vodka.

u/NoIWontSmellThis · 2 pointsr/BabyBumps

u/Orchidsandtears · 1 pointr/ttcafterloss

Agh! I'm sorry, love!

If it helps I can share what has been helping me, but of course we're all different. I take a lot of B6, and chew Gin-Gins. I also try to never get too hungry because that's when the nausea gets me. Well, that and swallowing vitamins. I don't know if any of this will be helpful — one of my friends had hyperemesis gravidarum and she'd have laughed at this advice. I'm sorry this is so awful!

u/ash_O_leigh · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I try to promote rescue and no kill shelters as much as possible. I am also trying to get into recycling. It's hard to do so in ND.

I'd like to try this ginger candy.

Ginger caps? What exactly are these, like dried up ginger ground up and put in a capsule?

Here is a link to buy the candies from amazon. They are really freaking cheap, and they are actually good tasting, in my opinion at least, so you'll probably end up going through them a lot faster than you will use them for tripping with lol.

u/MXEnthusiast · 1 pointr/Drugs

Chimes ginger chews. I eat some every time I use kratom.

u/gooeyguts21 · 1 pointr/PSVR

literally just ginger that's coated. 3 grams of sugar and pretty much nothing else bad. Sorry for the big link. Ginger in general tends to help motion sickness.

Oh girl, I feel ya :( I essentially have a panic attack every time I get to the point of gagging, and have for most of my life had a phobia of throwing up. Therefore after I found out at 3 weeks 4 days, I prepared an arsenal of items to stave off nausea. Most of this stuff helps a lot, but with the onset of other symptoms (like heartburn or dysgeusia), sometimes I'm restricted to certain items.

Here's my list:

  • Sea Bands. This makes my wrists irritated but always helps alleviate nausea. I always keep these in my purse. You can find them at your local Target (if you're in the US)

  • Chinese ginger chews. They are literally pieces of ginger coated in sugar, so they are SPICY. I buy these at my local Chinese candy store but these might be a good alternative.

  • Pepcid. This is more for heartburn, but you really don't want both symptoms at once.

  • Ginger ale. This surprisingly hasn't helped much during pregnancy, but used to be a staple back when I had regular panic attacks accompanied with nausea. Might work for you. I carry a kid-sized can everywhere I go.

  • Hydration. Preferably something with Vitamin B6, which is known to help nausea

  • Small snacks to nibble on (Chex mix, saltines, dried fruits). Snacking throughout the day has really kept bad symptoms at bay, including but not limited to queasiness and nausea. Be warned though - if your nausea is accompanied by cotton mouth, dry snacks can actually trigger gagging.

I also bought a box of ginger tea, which tasted nothing remotely like ginger so it didn't help and it's been sitting in my pantry for a month!

I'm still keeping my fingers crossed, but I have not actually thrown up at 9w 6d. I have had plenty of bouts of nausea, queasiness, heartburn, and food aversion... which when combined, makes for a terrible day. But so far, so good :)

    Good luck fellow April bumper!

u/cleaningallthethings · 1 pointr/BabyBumps

In addition to the other bumpers' suggestions to take meds (which you should try to get prescribed ASAP), until you get the meds, ginger chews helped me immensely. It allowed me to drive again and keep me from gagging during long work meetings. My other prego friends have reported the same. I hate ginger but after trying a bunch of brands (some are disgusting) I settled on this one.

u/helix123 · 1 pointr/Nootropics

I just started tianeptine, how long did it take you to notice a difference to your depression?

I'm not sure this will help, but many people who take opiates will use ginger candy to alleviate the nausea.

u/servethe_serpents · 1 pointr/teenagers

Yeah I was sick too, recently. It sucks. I'm still actually dealing with the fallout, even though it's been about a week or two. Luckily my aunt had introduced us to this ginger candy. It burns (in a tolerable way), but it's pretty effective in getting rid of the soreness. I recommend it, you should check it out.

I was put on Paxil for IBS-D and left on it for over a decade. When it was time for me to come off I suffered withdrawal, including nausea, that left me unable to eat and bed bound. I found The Ginger People Gin Gins Original Chewy Ginger Candy which I swear saved my life. Now, when I get that extra special nauseous feeling I'll reach for one of those before the Zofran, which I worship in it's own right. I would say 75% of the time it helps and I can skip the Zofran.

u/Rimn · 1 pointr/oculus

People poked fun at Oculus for having bins of ginger candy available at their GDC demos, but ginger really is a great way to combat motion sickness. I ended up buying a bunch of the same kind of ginger candy Oculus had, and I plan to offer it to people any time I'm giving demos of VR to friends or family.

If ginger helps you, these are the only candies I've found that were intense enough to help with my sea sickness nausea.

u/Madky67 · 1 pointr/DIY_eJuice

I think pg mutes my taste buds. I have a really strong sense of smell and therfore taste. Store bought juices were overly sweet and actually making my mouth raw and then I would have trouble tasting anything. Friut flavors are the only flavors that taste good to me. I just started diy and using juice that doesn't have a bunch of sweetner has helped a lot. I made my first few batches with pg60 vg40 and everything tasted great. But I purchased a few pod systems for the first time and decided to make the same recipes in a 50/50 ratio and I could barely taste anything from it for days, even though the first time I made the same recipes they were good to go from the first or second day.

When I was trying to find out what was wrong with my mouth, I came across a forum about vapors tongue and someone said they use chimes [Chimes Ginger Chews] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0079LT71G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_ft6WDb3FCBW60) I don't get vapors tongue that much, it's more like something is wrecking my mouth. But these help clear my palette. Brushing my teeth and tongue never did it. The peanut butter ones are amazing, I thought I would hate that flavor.

These are the kind I buy! I’m not sure if they sell them over there in the UK, but you can find them in pretty much any health food store in the US. They aren’t gummies exactly but have more of a thick caramel texture, so watch out if you have any fillings. I’m sure any type of ginger (tea, ale, crystallized, etc) would do, but these are especially yummy :)

Make sure your IPD is correctly set. Make sure you have a beast of a machine. Check your steamvr frame graph for frame drops/late starts etc and tweak if you can or avoid that particular game/experience. Stick with teleport locomotion games/experiences only, but a bad performing game or experience will make you ill regardless.

You also might have a issue with vertigo in general. I have issues with that and its called BPPV. Try the half-summersalt or Epley maneuver to get the calcium crystals in your ear back to where they should be. I got a thing called the Dizzyfix from amazon that guided me through the Epley. I am at some point going to post my experiences with Vertigo and Motion sickness with the Vive and Rift to /r/vive into one big post.

Ginger may help(take it like 30 minutes in advance). I like pickled ginger(the stuff they give you with sushi), or those Gin-gins candies:

I was going to mention that ginger does the same thing, looks like someone beat me to it. Near me, the big grocery stores and Asian markets have ginger candies, which might be more palatable than raw ginger (or not, tastes vary). I'll often have one before a test or if I have a migraine. Here they are in bulk on Amazon. Also, peppermint tea.
