No, really, it's on Amazon.

u/punkterminator · 37 pointsr/NoStupidQuestions

You can buy some coffee in bags but it's not that popular. Since most coffee makers pour water through the beans, you need more beans/ground coffee to get stronger coffee. I guess manufacturers found selling prepackaged coffee like tea isn't that lucrative if people want to pick how much coffee beans they want.

u/Kirbsotros · 35 pointsr/EatCheapAndHealthy

While it much cheaper to buy the tea leaves and make it yourself, the Joy Luck is good. If you want to brew it yourself, Number One is really number one.

I use this recipe

Are coffee tea-bags not popular for some reason? They are my go-to for camping.

Well on Amazon it's 32 dollars so that's hardly "gouging". Fiji is one of the most expensive bottled waters there is.

> Oi?

Here's how I'm able to keep mine on for about 2 weeks at a time (you read that right!):

  1. Size up an area that will be about 2 inches longer on all sides than the adhesive of the sensor
  2. Clean the site thoroughly with soap and water, allow to FULLY dry
  3. Apply rubbing alcohol to the site, allow to FULLY dry
  4. Apply Skin-Tac to the site, allow to FULLY dry - there will be a sticky residue left behind by this.
  5. Put in the sensor site in the middle of the area.
  6. Take a sheet of Tegaderm and fold it in half. Use scissors to cut a hole in the middle of the sheet that is the size of the transmitter and all the plastic that sticks up. You want the Tegaderm to cover the adhesive of the site and continue onto your skin, where you should have skin-tac applied. This is why you apply skin-tac to an area 2 inches longer than the site itself.
  7. Apply the Tegaderm and press down. Give it about a minute before doing any major movement to allow the tegaderm a chance to really attach to the skin.

Doing this has allowed me, as mentioned to keep a single site in for 2+ weeks, even through showers and daily exercise. I hope it made sense. :)

It's $14 bucks for a 24 pack on Amazon. I don't know why people think it's expensive.

Matcha. I make myself a matcha latte first thing every morning and the combination of caffeine and theanine really makes a difference for me. 1tsp matcha (I use Jade Leaf) + 1tbls honey + 1 cup unsweetened milk of choice.

Exercise is also really helpful for treating depression, as is a solid sleep schedule. If you're having trouble sleeping I highly recommend Olly Sleep supplement (for nights when my brain just won't shut up I take Olly Goodbye Stress)

u/RopePurchaser · 7 pointsr/soylent

Coffiest is $26~ as well here, although not a lightning deal. It's the only coffee one that's absurdly underpriced.

Crest Whitening Strips

Apply it 1x or 2x a week to make it last longer instead of using it everyday, which could irritate your teeth and gums. The last time I used whitening strips was about 7 years ago. I drink coffee and soda almost everyday. As long as you maintain your dental hygiene, you'll keep the whiteness a lot longer.

Philips Sonicare toothbrush (or any other electric toothbrush)

Use at least twice a day. This will keep your teeth super clean, hence, whiter. I cannot go back to manual toothbrushes. It's amazing what a difference it does in cleaning your teeth. Do not skimp on your toothbrush if you want whiter teeth.

Sensodyne Toothpaste

Get sensitive toothpaste because whitening strips will make your teeth super sensitive. You don't have to get a whitening toothpaste. Those just use more abrasive ingredients, which doesn't necessarily make teeth noticeably whiter.

Water and Gum

Always try to rinse water after every sip of a drink and bite of food. If water isn't available, drink your beverages through a straw and/or chew a sugar-free gum. It doesn't need to be whitening gum - plus gum is just good to have around because many people don't realize they have unpleasant breath.

Floss

Every night. I did this for 6 months straight (I normally flossed infrequently — like once or twice a week) and had a perfect dental checkup after flossing everyday. The dental hygienist didn't even need to scrap off any plaque. This also helps make the sides/gaps between teeth whiter.

Listerine Mouthwash

Use weekly or as needed. I doesn't have to be whitening mouthwash. Do not use it everyday because it will create an imbalance of good bacteria and saliva which is essential for a healthy mouth.

Oh, and get a tan :)

Typically a finely ground strong black Assam or Ceylon tea. I use this mix from amazon

u/WithRealLemons · 5 pointsr/diabetes

The curent Medtronic CGM sensors, Enlite, are okay I guess. Way better than the Sof sensors that came before. I still 100% prefer Dexcom to the enlites IMO. The Dexcom takes less calibration, last longer, and seen less fussy with the transmitter placement/tape requirements. Some people really like them though, so YMMV.

Doing a lot of martial art I can't say. I like to put the sensors on my arms, but you could use your torso, thighs etc; where ever you think would be the best place where it wouldn't get hit/disturbed. If the adhesive isn't working for you, you could always try some skin tack, that stuff will keep things from falling off.

Throat coat tea!!! https://www.amazon.com/Traditional-Medicinals-Organic-Throat-Seasonal/dp/B0009F3POO?th=1 Comes in regular or lemon - both are awesome. The lemon one covers up the faint licorice flavor that shows up in the plain one.

And the longer you let it steep, the more you notice a very subtle sweetness - I think from the licorice root... No carbs, super effective, and good either hot or iced.

Hope you feel better soon!!

COFFEE IS GARBAGE, GIVE ME A BEAUTIFUL CUP OF EARL GREY AND I AM SET FOR THE DAY.

ALSO, I [STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS TEA] (https://www.amazon.com/Taylors-Harrogate-Yorkshire-160-Count-Black/dp/B000XEV9YE?th=1) GIVEN TO ME BY AN ENGLISH FRIEND. IT'S THE BEST BAGGED TEA I'VE EVER HAD.

u/UndefinedUserOnLine7 · 4 pointsr/DunkinDonuts

Most stores brew it in the coffee maker. Lipton tea bags have directions for this. Make sure it is the gallon size tea bags if you go that route.

u/pixelement · 4 pointsr/pics

You could probably put in a brand new in-ground pool for that price.

EDIT: Let's say the pool holds around 5,000 gallons, a pretty conservative number for a DIY above ground pool. Each bottle of water of, let's go with Fiji, is going to cost around $1.33 per 16.9 oz. bottle. There are 640,000 fl. oz. in 5,000 Gallons. Therefore, you would need 37870 bottles to fill up the pool. At $1.33 per bottle this is $50,367.10. According to this website, most in ground pools will run you from $25,000-$50,000, so you could buy a high-end pool with the amount of money it would take to fill that dingy pool with Fiji.

u/DoctorPainMD · 4 pointsr/tea

depends on what you want to do with it really.

Matcha requires a lot more processing than say a loose leaf tea. it has to be grown, harvested, treated and ground a certain way, and those things add to the cost of the product.

Matcha is split between 'culinary grade' and 'ceremonial grade'. culinary grade is generally lesser quality because the standards for its growth and processing is more lax, the leaves aren't harvested immediately and not shaded as much. It tends to be a stronger, more bitter tea. It is also the cheapest, and ends up being the tea that people use for cooking and mixing into lattes etc.

ceremonial grade is a lot milder, sweeter and less bitter, and is substantially more expensive.

if price is a factor, and you're not gonna make straight matcha with just hot water, go for a good quality culinary grade. this one is pretty good for an introductory one, if you mix with some water and hot milk, and some sugar for a latte feel.

I haven't bought a good ceremonial tea (poor student) but i have tried it. if you got the cash, go for it.

I don't have all that much experience with matcha itself, because its so expensive on the whole. I'd defer to the opinions of the others here.

I've been sick for the past 8 days, and had a sore throat for the first 5 or so.

I've been 100% keto throughout the holidays, and didn't want a stupid cold to knock me out of ketosis. So I've been drinking hot toddys, and they are a game changer.

You can put just about anything you want in them. But I have a Holiday Spice tea. (Or, I've also combined a tea bag of Holiday Spice with a tea bag of Throat Coat, and I liked that combination even better). While the tea is steeping, I simmer some sugar substitute with fresh ginger, lemon juice, orange peel, peppermint extract, and a cinnamon stick. I strain the sugar to remove the solids, and combine it with the tea. Then add a nice shot of whiskey.

I've never had anything help with a sore throat so much! I've read that the alcohol actually kills bacteria in the back of your throat. Don't know if that's true, but I would take one sip of the toddy and my sore throat would be just gone for the next 5-10 minutes. I wish I had known about hot toddys before I started keto, because I would've used them back then too.

Hope you feel better real soon!

Amazon? I'd also bet on your local health food/specialty store, or maybe even some places that sell natural remedies and supplements and that sort of stuff. You may also find it in either the health food or tea section of your local grocery store.

Finally got summoned for jury duty. Meh.

On other news, the Thai iced tea mix I bought from amazon is on point. The recipe I used calls for 1 cup of the mix with 4 cups of water so if anyone is interested to try it it’s probably best to buy the 2 pack

If you're on your way to the gym, you can spike your water with some flavored BCAAs. Otherwise, if you need some flavor without the junk, I'm a fan of Nuun vitamin tablets in water. I also enjoy adding some lime to my carbonated (or non) water, and these packets are great for on-the-go.

u/potatoaster · 3 pointsr/tea

People use all sorts of tea to make pearl milk tea. I believe the canonical tea is cheap Ceylon, but a lot of places use even cheaper Assam instead. Some people add a second tea, like high-mountain oolong, to add complexity. In HK, they often add ripe pu'er. I've also seen many people recommend Golden Sail lychee black tea and Sunflower jasmine green tea, which are cheap Chinese supermarket brands.

Thai tea is usually Ceylon with condensed milk, food coloring, and often star anise (and sometimes clove, cardamom, vanilla). The leading brand is Number One. That's what your favorite restaurant probably uses. Black sugar PMT was made famous by the Tiger Sugar chain. I've tried it, and tbh I prefer the cleaner flavor of sucrose- or fructose-sweetened PMT.

I don't know how to make cheese foam, but here's my recipe for Taiwanese milk tea:

In 1 c of boiled water, steep 2 teabags of Ceylon for 15 min. Add 1/8 c each sugar and creamer. Chill completely. Shake before serving to improve the texture. Serve with pearls, either the instant ones or homemade ones with tapioca starch and black/red/brown sugar.

u/father_of_a_diabetic · 2 pointsr/diabetes

I have a three year old T1 who pumps. Here is what we've learned:

  • Use Skin-Tac when installing an infusion site and it won't come off accidentally

  • Use TacAway to help remove infusion sites and CGM sites

  • Cover the CGM sensor site with IV3000 and it won't get accidentally pulled off

  • After removing a infusion/CGM site first clean it with an alcohol wipe to remove left over adhesive. Then use Neosporin or a thin film of a Zinc Oxide product like Desitin to help heal it

  • For active people, like my 3 year old, SPIbelt is a great product to hold your pump (you can even sleep with it on)

As mentioned in other posts, always have a kit with you. Your kit should contain:

  • Emergency sugar (glucose tab, cake frosting, or juice box)
  • Backup rapid acting insulin (pen or vial/syringe)
  • Glucagon
  • Your BG meter
  • Some kind of ID that you are a T1 diabetic (bracelet, dog-tag, tattoo, or id card in your wallet)

It is also a good idea to keep in your car, office, family, and friends houses an extra infusion kit (wipes, reservoir, infusion set). Train your family and friends on how to test your BG and also administer Glucagon and/or Insulin just in case you aren't coherent.

    Happy pumping!

It's a typo. Should have said Thai tea. I corrected it. It's a delicious tea that I first tried at a Thai restaurant and on the menu it said 'Thai Tea'. At the restaurant, they add milk, but it's pretty amazing without it as well. A lot of caffeine. It's pretty much replaced coffee for me because it has a much better flavor. It tastes very nutty and smoky while also being very heavy and filling (like coffee, maybe better). Here's the brand I buy: Thai Iced Tea Traditional Restaurant Style,16 oz (1LB.) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000UPNK9S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_SNl4AbV9YZ0HH

It doesn't sound dumb because it has been done already by huge companies here and here.

High quality coffee is usually ground right before it is used as coffee becomes stale quickly. Some people say after 15 mins after being ground it starts to degrade. I can personal say that I don't like grinding my coffee the night before I use it. So any form of distribution network for pre-ground coffee won't be high quality.

Also things like the flavoring is going to be what will be different about your product but that as well is a market that bigger players are already in. Coffee mate(owned by nestle) is every where in grocery stores and comes in 20+ flavours already and coming in both liquid and powder form. It also doubles as creamer. Which is a bonus as most people buying your product probably won't like the biter taste. Your examples of flavours pumpkin spice, French vanilla, they don't have a Amaretto flavour but they do have Hazelnut. You get the point it is going to be a uphill battle to compete on flavours.

Another thing quality coffee is not artificially flavoured but rather it has to do with the bean itself. Coffee doesn't taste like pumpkin spice normally.

The business idea had a good start you saw a need and you tried to fill it. Next time think about barrier to entry to the business and do some research on players already in the field.

As for your brother get him a french press and a blade grinder plus a kettle. If he can buy freshly roasted coffee it will be the easiest and best cup of coffee he has ever had. I used a coffee machine and pre-ground coffee in first year in my dorm and it was great.

u/Morieta7 · 2 pointsr/Coffee

u/Brandmon · 2 pointsr/europe

That's peculiar. I never came across bottled unflavoured Lipton Iced Tea; it has always been either Peach or Lemon flavoured.

Your other options could be to try out the tea bag variety and see if you can make some of your own; this is the particular one I found by Lipton.

Then there is the powdered variety, which I would suggest you avoid like the plague.

u/SamuraiSmurfette · 2 pointsr/kitchener

I am a huge fan of sweet tea. There is literally NOTHING like it here. Pureleaf and goldpeak are fine and all, but they insist on only selling the fruit flavored kinds in Canada. Why can't we have tea flavoured tea?!

Even finding regular black tea (that isn't a 'breakfast blend' or whatever is incredibly difficult. The only pure black tea bags I was able to find was at vincenzos.

I broke down and imported these and just make it myself now.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005ECLIUA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

...But then I found that citric acid is really bad for your teeth :/

So I'm switching to making iced tea with herbals like Celestial Seasonings, or keeping fresh lemons and limes handy, though they also have citric acid in them, they at least also have vitamin C.

...Sigh.

Hope you get some better answers here!

Last time I had a cough, I found two things that worked wonders for me. Thoat Coat tea, and letting a piece of chocolate melt on my tongue as I fell asleep at night. At some point your cough becomes sort of a spasm, rather than a productive necessity, and the chocolate kind of soothes it long enough for me to fall asleep. Feel better!

If you're really active or are going swimming, be sure to use a product called Skin-Tac. It's a skin glue, and your endo should have some samples for you. Secures the pod like a damn fortress.

I'm a little older and haven't played sports competitively since I got my CGM but i have been using these https://www.amazon.com/TORBOT-GROUP-Skin-Tac-H-Adhesive-Barrier/dp/B000QF81M8 before inserting my cgm and I can consistently get 3 weeks out of mine. Although you may not get that it may help.

Also I know there are some third party sticky things that go over the dexcom as well that have designs. I can't think of the name but those could help as well.

I know all of this is a mute point when you get laid out on the ice or your pad hits it and just rips it out but I think some of these might help.

u/Glenathon · 1 pointr/diabetes

Good question....this is something I battled with early on since acquiring the 'pod.

First off, I use Skin-Tac wipes (after the alcohol wipes) on the site every time. I found that worked VERY well with keeping the tape on...however I still had issues with the 'pod ripping off the tape due to the vigorous movement in tennis.

When the 'pod is on my arm, I use a dress sock with the bottom part cut off (from below the ankle, down). This leaves me with a tube of stretchy material. I slide that around the 'pod on my arm and it works perfectly!

When it's on my waist, I invested in a custom belly wrap from Bands4Life. Kind of expensive, but works great.

However, coffee tends to be picky about it's extraction temperature and the amount of time the grinds spend exposed to water is pretty sensitive. Unlike Tea which tends to just get stronger as the steeping time increases, over extraction with coffee turns your delicious cup of joe into a bitter tincture of sadness.

I buy mine through Amazon: True Lime 100 count

It's carried in some grocery stores too, along with their lemon and orange versions. 1 packet is equal to a wedge of lime. I keep a handful of them in my purse along with a little dropper bottle of stevia--just a few drops to offset the extreme tartness of the lime, not enough to turn it into a sweet drink. It's made a huge difference in my drinking habits!

u/a_monomaniac · 1 pointr/Ultralight

Trailrita. Tequila, water, and a couple packets of lime powder.

Make it in a smartwater bottle, shake it around, sip on it. I even bring it into the tent so I have a drink to sip on while I read / fall asleep. It's also nice to wake up in the middle of the night to go pee and you already have a little bit of a cocktail to sip on while staring up at the stars before going back to bed.

Tequila can also go in coffee for that morning pick me up.

Your results may vary but I discovered a fresh lemon in an extra large glass of water could impact my blood sugar. I switched to True Lemon.

  • <1g carbs;
  • No artificial sweeteners, flavors or colors; no preservatives;
  • no Gluten; Non-GMO
  • 1 packet = the taste of 1 Lemon wedge; 2 packets = 1 Tbsp lemon juice.

The Lime ia equally Tasty! And, to be honest, this is a much more convenient and economical solution; plus adding it to most tap water eliminates ever drinking canned or bottled flavor chemicals.
u/caitcreates · 1 pointr/cocacola

OP here - I have some good news for you! Granted, Diet Coke with Lime is gone. However, in my search for replacements, I have found something that seems to work well.

There are these tiny packets of crystalized lime called True Lime that you can get on Amazon or elsewhere. I've found that one packet flavors a can of Diet Coke just right. Two packets seem to work well with a 20oz. bottle.

There are still some places you can get Diet Coke with Lime - but it's all at exorbitant prices. The Fridge Packs (three 12-packs) are up to $38 on amazon - those are shipped directly from a Coca-Cola distributor in Atlanta. I stocked up when they were around $24 for a 12-pack. I still have about ten 12-packs left, but I'm not as worried now that I found out about True Lime packets.

I hope you can get True Lime where you are and that you like how it tastes.

Good luck!

Gotta get yourself the real stuff I have a friend in Thailand who had sent me some of this (same exact bag) along with a bunch of curry and other stuff... It's pretty damn good. Steep at 200F for like ~5 minutes, then add milk to your desired milkiness and some ice (or just chill the tea first, a much better option). You may also want to add sugar, because the tea itself is pretty bitter. The dry tea leaves smell like heaven with vanilla all over it, but as you know, the tea doesn't quite taste like that lol

Not entering this contest but I still want to add my suggestions for your birthday gift.

It's all about atmosphere and ambiance. Creating a serene environment conducive to relaxation and reflection. It seems that you are a working mom, a wife and probably wear many more stressful hats in your life. That being said, picture this: dinner is cooked, little one's in bed the house is quiet and there you are in your favorite cozy spot wrapped with this Purple Plush Throw. Your cozy spot is lined with this super duper massage cushion and your feet resting on this shiatsu massager encased in these fluffy purple socks. On a nearby table you have the soothing aromatic scent of lavender emitting from this diffuser. Relaxed and soothed you find that you are a bit restless despite all your efforts, so out comes the coloring book. Using your 50 count pack of colors you sit and color for a while in blissful peace. Unwinding for a few moments and allowing the hustle and bustle of the day to pass away. Maybe you even indulge a bit with a cup of tea as you nosh on these delicious butter cookies. After your relaxing massages, your coloring session and bedtime snack, it is time to slip off to bed.

This is what I would give to you: the gift of moments spent each day exclusively designed to recharge, relax and refocus before the new day dawns. The day dawns and you are refreshed and ready to tackle all that may come.

I suffer horribly from insomnia every time I have "quit". I use Sleepytime Extra. It has valerian in it which is usually understood to help people fall asleep a little faster and stay asleep. It's not like taking an Ambien, it won't knock you out, but it's helped me through the tough four or five nights of brutal insomnia before my natural rhythm kicks back in. You might want to give it a try. I don't have much for the rest of your side effects, but I do know the sweaty palms is your body's way of getting rid of the THC and other cannabis related toxins stored in your fat. I'm sure it smells bad, too. Afaik, there's nothing you can do for that, besides wear gloves, but it's an important step and a good sign.

Keep it up. Withdrawl sucks, but it only lasts or week or so.

I ended up getting this stuff

Honestly tastes so fucking good, i mix a teaspoon of it with my Ketosoy daily and got my immersion blender, tastes heavenly now to a point where i have to control my drinking habits. I've found that if i save my last bottle to the point where i chug it before bed, i sleep a lot better vs. The issue i've had of not being able to sleep properly for the past 3 days since starting Keto because i'm hungry all night. I had ginger chicken the first night so i wouldn't count it as keto. The second night i ate one brownie with 16g of net carbs as well as a dozen fish balls 0g carbs. Last night i survived with nothing, today i've been awake for 8 hours and, now that i'm thinking of it, will be having my 2nd meal. It's my birthday though, so i might end up having steak for dinner tonight.

TLDR; I now mix my ketosoy with 9 drops of Sucralose, a teaspoon of matcha and blended w/ an immersion blender + kept in the fridge hours before i plan to drink it. Has made a significant difference.

I'm also planning on splitting my meals, so instead of 3 per day i'll have 6. (More water in the mix, so quantity wise it's the same). I'm also getting Keto Chow when i'm back in Jan, for now though, i've ordered a second batch of Ketosoy which I'm not sure will show up before my flight on the 15th.

Yeah sure! It's a few ounces of milk, an emulsifier (it's called 'base', it makes the texture smooth and it basically has the texture of maple syrup), simple syrup, matcha (sbux matcha is literally half sugar just so you know), ice and whipped cream.

I haven't tried playing around with making something similar to a frappucino at home yet since I haven't gotten around to buying a blender, but I feel like you could probably do something along the lines of this, based on a grande amount...

  • 16 ounce cup size scoop of ice

  • 4 oz of heavy cream or half and half

  • About 3 tbsp of matcha, like this

  • A scoop or two of nonflavored or any neutral flavor (maybe vanilla?) protein powder to make it smoother.

  • Splenda or some stevia drops to taste. If using splenda then 3-4 packets might work? Totally depends on how sweet you want it though!

  • Maybe some unsweetened almond milk to add in if you blend it and the texture seems a little too thick.

  • Homemade whipped cream with stevia/splenda and a little vanilla extract

Like I said I haven't done anything like this before, but if you try it let me know because I'd like to hear how it worked out!
u/Redfox504 · 1 pointr/IAmA

now that's just the powder. Its a good brand but you have to sweeten it to your liking....

I've been drinking this matcha over the last couple of days:

https://www.amazon.com/Matcha-Green-Tea-Powder-Organic/dp/B00PFDH0IC/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8

I add a tsp to a thermos of hot water and shake it up. Even though it's culinary grade, it mixes fine. Most people probably won't enjoy the grassy taste, but I don't mind it.

As far as how it makes me feel, it's not as stimulating as coffee and really not too calming. It's overall more mild than expected. The Rev Up (black, green, oolong tea mix) from Teavana provides more of what I'm looking for. This matcha was really cheap though, so maybe I'll try a different brand later.

Edit: nm this matcha is pretty damn good in the mornings.

Is that your only example? If so, it’s a very weak one.

Coke is sold in glass bottles. In the US, you can find them at almost any grocery store, but they’re more expensive as glass obviously costs more to produce (conclusion: coke produces more plastic bottles because consumers want cheaper coke). Most countries actually have more glass bottles than plastic because they are refilled. If you’ve ever gone outside the country, you would have observed that.
