Some other very entertaining reviews[Davids Ghost pepper sauce] ( http://www.amazon.com/Daves-Ghost-Pepper-Jolokia-Sauce/dp/B001PQTYN2)
My personal favorite line:
That is it had a nice flavor for about 1500 milliseconds before Oppenheimer hit the red button and, "I am become heat, the destroyer of digestive tracts."
Thats funny because I just ordered 6 bags and I'm going to bathe in them when they arive
Much cheaper: http://www.amazon.com/Ajinomoto-Monosodium-Glutamate-Umami-Seasoning/dp/B00IH28XDE/ref=sr_1_1?s=grocery&ie=UTF8&qid=1452530498&sr=1-1&keywords=MSG
You can a plastic bagged version like that from any Asian store for $1-3.
here are the real ones
Spicy Chicken Ramen by Samyang is also very good. It comes in regular and 2 x Spicy.
Public Service Announcement (for Americans):
\^Non-referral link. For anyone who wishes to try it and has $10 to waste on some drinks.
edit: Amazon.com has sold out. It is on back-order until the 16th of Oct.
edit #2: Completely sold out now. Not even on back-order. Sorry guys.
Might as well do it right -- https://www.amazon.com/Samyang-Bulldark-Chicken-Roasted-Noodles/dp/B01MUGP7QK?th=1&psc=1
Sooo dont buy from this one its a knockoff:
http://www.amazon.com/Columbina-Strawberry-Candy-Wrapped-5LB/dp/B003EMSRLK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1367812794&sr=8-1&keywords=strawberry+candies
buy from this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Arcor-Juice-Filled-Strawberry-Kosher/dp/B004TNVSDW/ref=pd_sim_gro_2
Amazon lets you cancel orders before they've shipped, so do that immediately - the ones you ordered are the wrong ones, they do not have the chewy center.
Someone else has provided the correct link, they're made by Arcor. Get those.
Edit to add: These are the ones you want!
FaveReds are cherry, strawberry, fruit punch and watermelon.
Not OP and not sure if serious, but this will light you up pretty good although I personally prefer a nice Thai curry noodle soup kind of like [this]
(https://heatherchristo.com/spicy-thai-curry-noodle-soup/) guy but I add chilies into the paste part and I don't usually keep coconut oil around the house because it's expensive now that everyone's riding it's dick, so I use canola and add onions to the pan before you dump the spice mix in.
No problems from the wife after 3 years. She does get them when she's on antibiotics, so that's kind of weird coconut oil isn't doing anything.
I use this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DS842HS
Maybe it's the refined that does it?
https://smile.amazon.com/Cheddar-Cheese-Powder-1-lb/dp/B00016LZT8/
You're welcome.

American here. Best bet is Amazon.com here
It has a sort of rusty look to it with a citrus/bubblegum flavor, at least that's the best I can describe it. Definitely
These?
Edit: link updated to actual candy thanks to dizneedave. Sorry I haven't checked reddit all day to fix sooner.
the real ones
Thanks for the sweet words! Here are the highlights of my food. Hope it helps!
Breakfast: Weekdays I eat what's below. Weekends are a toss up. If i can swing it, I just try to make it a brunch so I save breakfast calories.
Lunch/Dinner: Usually it's one of these recipes below. I try to keep meals under/around 300 calories to make room for dessert and snacks!!
These are my go to meals but I will always venture into skinnytaste.com to find something new!
Snacks/Desserts: I LOVE SNACKS. That's why I keep my meals low calorie. I eat the most snacks between lunch and dinner (usually pace myself with 1 an hour between 2pm and 4pm)
The resin that green mountain uses in their cartridges isn't recyclable or biodegradable.
These are and they're a lot cheaper. If you use a keurig 2.0 you may need a clip to bypass the DRM.

I think you mean FLAVOUR and FLAVOUR is awesome.
Everyone should own a bag of MSG. That shit takes good food and makes it great.
For $6.11 you can turn good soup into great soup. Most other foods benefit as well.

I'll just leave this here...

Guava-Lime Candy
These were the inspiration for this recipe. The candy is a sweet and sour guava. This recipe takes that idea a little further.
Apparently those are fake versions of the grandma candy.
These are what you want.

you know they make a regular non 2x spicy right? lol
I bought a pound of this from Amazon and I use it constantly. MSG is delicious and enhances almost every meal.
You don't want to put MSG in sweets. Chocolate chip cookies with MSG aren't very good. Neither are MSG pancakes or anything else that's sweet.
But for everything else, use it. My only caution is not to overdo it. You don't need much MSG to make things delicious. Only a pinch to my eggs makes them delicious. But a tablespoon would be a bad idea.
Anyhow, this bag is inexpensive. Tack it on to your next Amazon order. Then start adding it to everything - you will be very happy with the result.
you mean these
It's guava hard candy.
https://www.amazon.com/Classic-Guava-Hard-Candy-12-3/dp/B000J0N1CK
Seconded, also adding Tony Chachere's, which i put on basically everything. also some spice humor.
No no no! Don't give up! Emerald Cocoa Roast Almonds have saved me in the same situation. Only 3 net carbs PLUS you get a kick of protein and fiber to boot. You can get them from the grocery store as well, this was just the easy link. :D Keto on girl, you can do it!
Edited for spelling
Amazon has it for you
http://www.amazon.com/Gardettos-Roasted-Garlic-Chips-8-0-Ounce/dp/B000IOC7RW/ref=sr_1_11?s=grocery&ie=UTF8&qid=1333949759&sr=1-11
Also these. I have to be honest, I like these a lot better. They taste more like the ones found in bold Chex mix.
Reverand Lux Newman had this to say:
I bought these candies because I thought I recognized the colored wrappers of the strawberry candies we were used to as children... the ones that have been around for about 50 years. These are NOT the original candies. These candies are imitation ones made in Columbia. The same wrappers are used to deceive people into thinking they are buying the originals. These candies from Columbia are dried up on the outside. The papers stick to the candies. Most importantly, this Columbia brand does not have the strawberry gel filling that the original candies have. If you are looking for the originals, they are by Arcor. Don't settle for this substitute. They don't compare.
I found the originals on Amazon, if anybody is interested.
You know they sell it in bulk, right?
My boss is a hard candy fanatic - she ordered these guava candies off of Amazon recently
Amazon my man.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004VD6S8K/ref=redir_mdp_mobile/191-1509956-9349606?ref_=cm_sw_em_r_am_ip_am_us
Love Shin Ramyun noodles! You should definitely try the Korean fire noodles. They're my current go-to. They're way spicier but still flavourful. If you google some variation of, "Korean spicy noodle challenge," you'll see them. The black package is great! The red package (2x spicy) I think is too hot - burns without any added flavour. The Asian grocery stores in my area have them but you can also get them on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00ICT6ARS/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1509566033&sr=8-1&keywords=Fire+noodles&dpPl=1&dpID=611BWPdjmXL&ref=plSrch
I'll try that next time, i usually boil water, toss in noodles and stir, add packet after a minute or two then stir and pour in bowl. Burn hands as i carry to table then let sit while it cools and the noodles absorb more soup. garnish with some lonely lonely tears and dig in.
also, my personal absolute favorite brand of packaged noodles is these or their newer 2x spicy version. It's the same kind of technique as yours where the water is drained and then the seasoning is added but the seasoning is like a sauce instead of a powder. tastes damn good with a soft boiled egg.
Looks like OP beat me on the suggestion to break them off the stick, but here all the work is done for you!
*Edited to acknowledge OP.
Link to Miracle Noodles for those who aren't aware: https://www.amazon.com/Miracle-Noodle-Shirataki-Variety-ounces/dp/B00BTMDALO/
You mean these? They're literally in any grocery store.
Miracle Noodle Shirataki Pasta
Could change everything you thought you knew about food
Seriously, they're not perfect by any means but 0 calories, 0 carbs and very tolerable. It's like the took the emptiness of space and turned it into a noodle type thing.
Have you tried Samyang Ramen / Spicy Chicken. I can take heat most of the time no problem. This stuff made me cough and my lips burned after for a little bit.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ICT6ARS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_unKvzbT4KXRDR
Here is a pound of Mac and cheese powdered cheese. https://www.amazon.com/Cheddar-Cheese-Powder-1-lb/dp/B00016LZT8
For one person? Pick up 5lbs of live crawfish from Dekalb or Buford Hwy Farmers Market.
Use whatever butter you prefer, but keep in mind this will be intense so if you're looking for accent flavors, they may not show up as desired.
As much veggies as you want.
You can use pink salt, but it'll be rather expensive and there will be so much flavor in here that it really won't stand out.
You can steam or dunk in reserved boil liquid to reheat the crawfish the following day provided you keep them covered during refrigeration overnight.
Tony Chachere's is our NOLA equivalent to Old Bay, but it is a little saltier (to me at least)
Fried oysters:
Make a bath out of the milk and eggs, blend lightly.
Add oysters, then bread them with the remainder of the ingredients.
Fry at 350F for about 3-4 minutes. Add Crystal hot sauce and/or fresh lemon juice.
EDIT: save the shells and fat, then use similar recipe but without as much salt for stock. Use stock in pastas, gumbo, etouffe, bloody Mary Mix, jambalaya, soup base, etc..
I usually go with eggs. Lots of eggs. Eggs + HWC + veggies + cheese. Bake in the oven and boom. Quiche for days.
Chicken thighs are almost always on sale and you can do a lot with them. Broil with low cab BBQ sauce, slow cook a curry, bread with pork rinds and fry em up.
This barrel is HUGE and much cheaper than buying 1oz bags at the grocer.
I also buy a lot of ground beef because it's versatile. Tacos, chili, just seasoned over cauli rice, mixed into (you guessed it) eggs.
I've heard that nutritional yeast can satisfy some of these cravings, although I have never tried it, so I can't confirm! Might be worth a shot.
If, like me, you're not picky about your coffee, but you like the convenience of a Keurig, you can get 80 K-Cups for $26. The coffee actually has great reviews, too.
Velveeta is the same cheese used in the squeeze pack Velveeta box. For the Kraft powder based packs, you can buy powdered cheddar cheese in bulk off Amazon and just mix it with milk. A huge container of that, some milk, and a big box of elbow macaroni are dirt cheap in comparison to buying boxed Mac n' Cheese. They are also a bit more of a "homemade" feel than just buying things already made and packaged up as a recipe box.
I'm with the substitutes idea.
For pasta, besides spaghetti squash, you can also get a zoodle maker and make zucchini and other vegetable noodles (let them dry out a bit was a tip I came across).
Recently I tried out Shiritaki noodles, made from
seaweedglucomannen (seaweed ones are Seatangle). They had a nice little crunch when not heated up, and hot spaghetti sauce was enough to soften them for eating. I'm ordering more; they can be used for pasta salads as well as hot meals. Not sure how those will fit your macros and budget, though.Edit to clarify noodle types
Have a look at Shirataki noodles.
Zero net carbs and hold the sauce marginally well. I'd experiment with them before you plan a big meal.
Guava hard candy
Opened oddly on mobile, but many of those similar reviews are quite entertaining.
Holy shit, that is perfect. Bonus points if you have zip-lock baggies full of light blue rock candy to share.
Edit: Lol, apparently some other people have had the exact same idea as me. Some glasses that really look like Walt's are listed below as a 'related item'.
Double Edit: So is this hat.
this has been in my Amazon wishlist for quite some time.
Classic Guava Candy. I usually keep a bag on hand.
Utz Pork Rinds
Ingredients: pork skin & salt
This is the kind I use! You can find it in any grocery store I think in the natural foods section. Not that expensive compared to other seasonings, really.
Poor undergrad student here. To be kind to my wallet I buy a lot of beans rice and potatoes. Black beans are really good for protein. If I need extra protein I take vital wheat gluten and make seitan. There are tons of different ways to prepare this for different tastes and textures (one of my favorite recipes) and It will last a long time for what you spend on it. Also some nutritional yeast will get you that B12 without having to take any supplements as well as give you a ton of other vitamins and nutrients and it too will last a long time for what you are spending. Other than that try to buy fruits and veggies without breaking your budget and try to keep it varied. Good luck!
I do not know your Chicago brands, but I do know my local Mennonites: powdered cheddar cheese. Obviously they do not source theirs, which I buy, through Amazon, but the stuff is great. There are times I do not want the smoothness of sodium citrate and instead up the cheesiness of a sauce with the powder, but mainly I make great popcorn and Tex-Mex-Chex mix. It also can be added to a bread dough without creating pockets of moisture that make hollows.
If you have Amazon Prime you can get it for $9.99.
There are a few others as well.
Take this. Pop some popcorn, dust liberally.
While /u/stakesandwich 's method is really good, if you're counting calories, definitely consider investing in an air popper. They're like $30 or less on Amazon. 2-6tbs of coconut oil is 240-720 extra calories of fat!
I would air pop the corn and maybe get something like this cheese powder @70cal/serving. After you pop the kernels, add some Frank's hot sauce, then toss with the cheese. Voila!
Alternatively, you could just make a big bowl of plain salted air popped corn, then add a measured amount of the Cheetos in, so as you eat it you get the taste. Hell, maybe you could even crush them in and use in place of the cheese powder?
Also consider using cayenne powder with either of these.
OMG, my wife bought me this chicken flavor Raman https://www.amazon.com/Samyang-Ramen-Chicken-Roasted-Noodles/dp/B00ICT6ARS
And this other one...
https://www.ramenregretrater.com/2016/12/18/samyang-cheese-buldak-bokkeummyeon/
So great omg
Some of my favorites, off the top of my head:
• La Gan Ma Spicy Chili Crisp. It's a salty condiment that's ridiculously addictive:
https://www.tastecooking.com/cult-spicy-chile-crisp/
• Chinese sausage have a unique sweet flavor from rice wine or sorghum wine. Slice them into little coins and add to a stir-fry. Many varieties are available (some are all pork and some contain added pork liver or chicken.)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_sausage
• Red dragonfruit, if they have them (most dragonfruit are pink on the outside, and boring white on the inside; sometimes you can find ones that are red on the inside, and I like those much better. The market will label them somehow if they're the more expensive red-centered ones.)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pitaya
• Pork floss ("pork sung"; this is dried shredded barbecued pork, used as a topping for some comfort foods such as congee. It tastes a bit like bacon, but they have the texture of cotton candy.)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rousong
• Japanese curry bricks are a great shortcut to making Japanese-style curry. All you need to add are meat, vegetables, and water. S&B Golden Curry is a good first choice for beginners, but there are many other varieties available.
https://www.sbfoods-worldwide.com/recipes/010.html
• Thai curry paste combined with coconut milk makes Thai-style curry. Many varieties are available; if you're new, I suggest starting with a tiny can of Maesri brand "karee" (yellow curry) flavor, combined with 1 can of coconut milk.
https://importfood.com/products/thai-curry-paste/item/karee-curry-paste
• Koon Chun brand Black and Double Black soy sauce are variations of dark soy sauce with molasses added for extra sweetness and color, but not thickened the way some other compounded soy sauces are. Sometimes I substitute Koon Chun's black soy for dark soy sauce in recipes.
https://www.amazon.ca/Koon-Chun-Double-Black-Sauce/dp/B00012OI0U
• Chinkiang black vinegar (many brands are available) is tangy and is what makes good hot & sour soup brown. It's essential for many Chinese recipes (balsamic vinegar is sometimes used as a substitute.)
https://www.amazon.com/Gold-Plum-Chinkiang-Vinegar-18-6/dp/B00BUIKGU0
• A bag of MSG crystals! You will likely never use all of that one-pound bag but it's something cheap that you can experiment with.
https://www.amazon.ca/Ajinomoto-Monosodium-Glutamate-Umami-Seasoning/dp/B00IH28XDE
• dried shiitake mushrooms. Shiitakes are considered an expensive, exotic item in Western cuisine, but in Asian cuisine they're just the regular mushrooms, and quite affordable if you buy them dried. You have to soak them in hot water (and then trim off the stem) before using them.
https://www.taste.com.au/quick-easy/articles/how-to-prepare-dried-shiitake-mushrooms/8jwnrwwb
• frozen gyoza imported from Japan (Shirakiku and Ajinomoto are the two big Japanese frozen food brands.) Many flavors are available. They're some of my favorite snack foods, though cooking them can be a little bit of a scary experience due to hot oil. Make a basic dumpling sauce by mixing the black soy sauce (above) with a little of the black vinegar (above)!
https://www.amazon.com/Ajinomoto-Chicken-Gyoza-Dumplings-Frozen/dp/B013H9M9YA
https://www.japaneseflavours.com/recipes/16_yaki-gyoza-pan-fried-how-to-cook-frozen-gyoza
...if you prefer chewier dumplings, the store will also have a wide variety of Chinese frozen potstickers (in the northeastern US you may hear them called "Peking Ravioli".) They have a thicker pastry.
Yeah, I made a roast with either ghost or reaper before in a slowcooker. One alone made the roast quite spicy but very flavorful. It was like a lingering burn but wasn't overly powerful!
That said, I'm a spicy fanatic so my taste will be different in comparison to other people. I think this ramen is fantastic but other people basically die eating it.
I once "participated" in a two-hour conversation while high by sitting there, saying nothing, and fidget spinning.
Another time I thought it would be a great idea to eat of the double spicy version of the noodles from the spicy ramen challenge - the sauce was so potent that my fingers burned the next morning in the spot where I had accidentally spilled some.
For reference, it looks like this is the sauce they used.
I use San Fransisco Bay coffee from Amazon. They'd completely recyclable and about half the price or less compared to green mountain, especially if you use the subscribe and save option. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007Y59HVM
Why don't more people just use stuff like this in their Keurig? They're just as convenient, cheaper, 97% biodegradable, fare trade, and, in my experience, just better tasting than the vast majority of K-cup varieties.
You can order them on Amazon!
Oh, and for extra bonus fun: the cheese powder from Kraft Mac and Cheese. JUST THE POWDER.
For people with a "weird" or "silly" requirement, a consumable is recommend is Cheddar Cheese Powder by Hoosier Hill Farm, 1 lb
Good for putting on popcorn or making boxed mac and cheese more cheesey
Cheddar powder is amazing. I've purchased a few of these over the years. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008GG9ZS8
Rice is very starchy, and since its grown not made, you can't make it out of something else to make it low carb so out of luck there.
As for noodles there have been some lower carb noodles, made with not sure what but probably at least partly soy. The ones I'd tried were horrible. They simultaneously tasted on the inside like pasta that hadn't cooked long enough and on the outside like pasta that had cooked too long and they were sticky. There was dreamfields pasta that tasted just like regular pasta and had the full carbs of regular pasta but don't count these carbs for some reason that is never explained very well and I believe was proven not to actually cut the effective carbs. Recently I've heard of but not tried miracle noodles. They come in rice too, but if they're made out of something else than its not rice anymore than cauliflower is so I suppose its probably like pasta made into rice shape. They're kindof expensive and I'm a bit wary of things like this that claim to be zero calories.
These? I love them. : /
These. Yum!
Looks like you need this!
You're welcome:
Utz Pork Rinds, 18 oz Barrel https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001YJ2VOO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_FntBzbK0NV9D6
I think he's probably talking about nutritional yeast: https://www.amazon.com/Bragg-Organic-Yeast-Seasoning-4-5-oz/dp/B002863BIW
It tastes kind of cheesy, and you typically sprinkle it on top of salad or pasta or rice or potatoes. Stuff like that. You can also put it in your smoothies.
https://www.amazon.com/Bragg-Premium-Nutritional-Yeast-Seasoning/dp/B002863BIW
https://www.amazon.com/Arcor-Strawberry-Kosher-contains-2-072lb/dp/B004TNVSDW
For a little under thirteen dollars, they can be yours as early as tomorrow.
> Are you advocating for this to be a purely middle class sub?
No. I was thinking more along the lines of frugality is a means for personal joy and financial freedom. And r/frugal has become a bragging post on how not to spend money at all. Not cheapness, not frugality, but bragging. A display of anti-largess.
I'm feeling r/frugal should be a way for people to help each other see into life habits and change them. How showing me what was pulled out of a dumpster doesn't make me want to jump into a dumpster
And if someone thinks Kcups are too expensive at .70 each, I like the idea that this subreddit will help them find this option at .31 : http://www.amazon.com/San-Francisco-Bay-Coffee-80-Count/dp/B007Y59HVM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1376358171&sr=8-1&keywords=san+francisco+bay+k+cups
You can buy cheddar cheese powder on amazon and I’ve seen it sold at Costco as well.
You need to try these instead. They are flavorful and spicy!
https://www.amazon.com/Samyang-Ramen-Chicken-Roasted-Noodles/dp/B00ICT6ARS/
apparently amazon sells it too! http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IH28XDE/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_1?pf_rd_p=1944687402&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B000N8EV8G&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1JX553Q0QQQ268VX1K9T
Ajinomoto is the most common brand. https://www.amazon.com/Ajinomoto-Monosodium-Glutamate-Umami-Seasoning/dp/B00IH28XDE?th=1
I'm not too sure honestly. I ordered it from Amazon.
You're in luck, my friend. They do.
Chinese guava-flavored candy
HongYuan Guava hard candy
It is Guava Hard Candy, like this
http://www.amazon.com/Classic-Guava-Hard-Candy-12-3/dp/B000J0N1CK
They're just called Classic Series, they're guava flavored. You can get a bunch more here if you want.
I know this goes against reason #1, but here's what cajun seasoning means to me in recipes as someone who grew up in the south. It's good stuff.
Tony Chachere's Creole Seasoning
I usually pre portion out all my "campus food" on Sundays so I can have it ready to go in the mornings to stay on campus all day. So, basically, tupperware. This might be way too much information...
I start my day with a shake from a powder, almond milk, and water. If I've worked out, I use this. I get the vanilla one, which I think tastes great and it's GF, SF, DF. If I don't work out I use something with soy in it that's lower cal. The shakes keep me full for about two hours.
Mid morning snack: I buy the ground turkey in tubes and make my own turkey sausage using this recipe minus the marjoram because I don't know what that is... I double the recipe and freeze most of it so I have enough for awhile.
If that seems like too much work, (it's a lot of work but hot damn, so worth it, I promise) You can just do bacon in the oven and portion it out and freeze it. Or you could hard boil eggs and portion those out too.
I do a big batch of frozen mixed veggies that I cook stove-top with some olive oil and Tony's. Gotta get those veggies in! I portion those out in baggies and freeze some.
I eat a lot of deli meat, which you can roll up and eat by itself or cut up and eat over salad.
I portion out my carrots in advance and put some store bought hummus into the tiny little tupperware. If you don't like hummus you could do salsa or peanut butter.
I personally don't eat beans. But if you do, black beans are your friend! You can flavor them with a taco seasoning packet and put them on corn tortillas with veggies. Minimal effort and delicious.
I don't eat a lot of carbs, but if you do, don't forget about rice, baked potatoes, and sweet potatoes. All are easily portable and pretty damn good. I know there are good GF breads, but all the ones I've tried have been extremely unsatisfying, so I tend to stay away from those products and try to eat less processed stuff.
I usually eat a GF protein bar too. But I guess a lot of those have soy. These are great. They're in the cereal isle for me. Lately I've been eating Quest bars like crazy.
I also end up throwing a banana and an apple in my bag too. I try to eat every two hours, so this way I have 100-200 calories every two hours. I can easily bring enough food for me to comfortably stay on campus for 12 hours.
Almost forgot! My lazy AF lunch: A packet of Starkist tuna and an avacado. Just gotta run a knife around the avacado and baggie it before you leave the house. (Slice but don't pull it apart so it won't brown) Just bring a tupperware, mash the avacado with the tuna until it looks like one nasty blob of grey, and it's honestly really really good. Tons of protein to keep you satiated. Salt and pepper makes it even better. Throw it on a corn tortilla, eat with tortilla chips, or just with a fork.
This was mentioned in another keto post: Cocoa Almonds. Awesome
My local market carries Atkins Advantage Bars link to some examples. They come in many flavors. They're a bit pricey, but I have a sweet tooth so I indulge myself sometimes.
I bought this, Dave's Ghost Pepper Jolokia Sauce
not too long ago for myself, but it would blend with ketchup very well. And an entire bottle would melt someone's face. I just add a drop to sauces, dressings, mac n cheese, etc.
http://www.amazon.com/Utz-Pork-Rind-Barrel-oz/dp/B001YJ2VOO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1415805874&sr=8-2&keywords=pork+rinds
It is really cool that you decided to become a vegan at 15! I made the switch when I was 22.

Regarding what to eat, look into Indian food (Full disclosure, I'm Indian). We have some 27 states and each state has its own cuisine. There is a lot of variety. Plus, our food tends to be spicy. So, you don't have to worry about bland or boring food.

Start with something simple like rice and curry. It is very easy to make them. Curry powder or spices needed to make curry should be available at grocery stores.

Since you already have tofu. Check out dishes (stew) that are made with Paneer (Farmer's Cheese). Tofu is a very good substitute for Paneer. This stew can be had with rice or flat-bread.

Whenever plant milk comes up, r/vegan always recommends oat milk. You can just buy oats from the store and make oat milk at home.

Nutritional yeast is a very good investment. Just sprinkle some Nooch on any dish, to make it taste better.

Finally, you have supplement your vegan diet with Vitamin B12. B12 is made by microbes in sand, and not found in plant-based food.
B12 supplements are the easiest way to get them.

I just ordered a 6-bag variety pack of Shirataki noodles off of Amazon. The only poor reviews seem to come from texture/an initial smell before rinsing, which I can handle just fine.. and I'm sure that I can pick up lots of tips about improving texture from this sub :)

Put shoe trees in them whenever they're not in use. Don't wear them everyday. Let them sit with shoe trees in for a day after you wear them before wearing them again.
Once a month, maybe once every 3 months, do this: Wipe shoes down with damp cloth, apply conditioner, let sit for a while. If you're happy with how they look, you're done! If you're not, apply the venetian shoe cream or coconut oil. Rub in until it's got the kind of shine you want.
If you want to get more serious, check the r/goodyearwelt leather care guide.

Ha =) well this diet will test your will power that's for sure. But it gets a lot easier as you learn what works for you.
I am glad you made it here. Most IBDers don't think they can only eat meat and survive and therefore never try. I have only anecdotal evidence but from what I have seen lots of them would benefit from it.

Did you get Shin ramen? It's not the spiciest, but it has the best flavor imo. It is still spicy though.
The spiciest I think I've tried is this shit. Needed like a gallon of water/milk to eat it lol
Amazon has 5 packs for $9.41 bucks and I've also seen it at HEB for $2.39 per pack, if my memory is correct.

I love cheese. Actually just food in general. I'd love some yummy powered cheese so I can make some cheesy popcorn. :)
I really enjoy my take on Hamburger Helper:
1 lb ground beef
1 package of Shirataki noodles
1 small onion
2tbsp powdered cheddar (any cheese will do here)
4 oz of heavy cream.
In a 12" cast iron skillet, brown the meat on high. Reduce to medium heat, add onions until they are translucent. Turn to low heat, add cream, cheese, and drained noodles. Simmer and stir often for 5-10 minutes.
PS Everyone needs a good cast iron skillet. Get one ASAP and never wash it with soap :)
RAoA has made me happen when people here talk to me on the daily/nightly threads and the discussion threads and stuff and actually continue to conversation! It makes me feel like I actually have something to contribute!

Guava candy
Btw, the candy itself is not Japanese but Chinese.
These Hongyuan Guava candies. I got a few as an after dinner candy from a Chinese restaurant and had to track down a store near me that sells them. Now I always keep a bag around.

Couch to 5k is awesome. I've been running it with a friend that has asthma. If he can do it, you can do it.
Plan your meals in advance. Try to cook twice a week.
Cut out calories at breakfast. Only eat enough to get you to lunch.
Cut out calories at lunch, only eat enough to get you to dinner.
Dinner is for eating a banquet of meat and veggies.
Buy this. It makes chicken, pork, lambchop, and eggs taste amazing.
I use this Creole Seasoning and totally love it, though it makes things a bit on the salty side unless you're careful about quantity. I usually give a generous coating on both sides of the breast, sear each breast for 6 minutes on just one side, then pop them in a baking dish in the oven. Super easy and tastes great, been doing this for a few weeks now.
Other things I've done include curry spices (you can look up recipes/rations or just do like I do and wing it and hope for the best), fresh cilantro, also cook down a bunch of onions with some garlic and then cook the chicken with the browned onions, you can also get "poultry seasoning" mixes that have various herbs with garlic and onion powder. Fresh herbs are great, they tend to be cheap at ethnic markets (hipanic, asian) when they are otherwise pretty pricey for a tiny bunch. I always go for cilantro but thyme and rosemary are amazing with chicken.
I love sweets, I have responded with this combatant.

Gonna throw in a plug for almonds here. Particularly the Emerald Cocoa Roast variety. Filling, tasty, few net carbs, and a super food.
Also, try the Greek people method for broccoli and cauliflower. Extra virgin olive oil, squeeze of lemon juice, and a pinch of salt. For me, I also add some cinnamon, cumin, and Mrs. Dash, for the thermogenic boost.

I bought this about 5 months ago. Needless to say, it's still pretty full.
Thanks :)
My stomach was acting up pretty bad about an hour ago. For a moment i thought I was going to vomit. Believe me ... vomiting is the absolute worst.
I'd highly recommend eating something like raisin bran to help push the capsaicin through your system faster.
If you're even a little bit constipated it will just sit in your stomach and intestines and it's no good. I don't know if it's the stomach acid going nuts or the capsaicin or both.
Basically I find that when I eat something beyond my tolerance level and I find it punishing like those youtube videos.. that a few days after I've recovered my tolerance is way higher.
I got this and it's pretty damn hot.
I poured a bunch of it on some of my food and it kicked my ass. I had my SO have a little bit on a toothpick and that was enough to get me in trouble. (and she has a higher tolerance than most people)
Now I can deal with that stuff really well. I can even handle a good amount of the Cajohn's nothing beyond which I also got off of amazon.
In order to get to my next level I'd like to get some sauce in the 4 million range. I'd really like to work up to something like the source, but it's really expensive and frankly it's a bit intimidating.
Middle one looks like this, and right one is this.
Not sure about the two left ones. Sorry.
Next year, tell him you'll only have one if he has one as well. Then give the bartender this: http://amzn.to/nVcqVr.
A barrel of Pork Rinds!
One of my staples. It's easy to eat a lot of calories though, so I always portion them out rather than eating from a big container. They can't be your sole source of protein, but that seems unlikely to be a problem.
There's no reason they need to contain sugar or carbs of any kind. I get plain ones and then put powdered cheese, ranch, etc., flavor on them if I feel like it.
http://amzn.com/B001YJ2VOO
Our local butcher does a 'Meat For A Week' pack for £15 (scroll down the linked page to see it). I get one of these every week.
Added to this are my regular staples (it should be noted - many other things are purchased for my non-keto partner):
At least one whole iceberg lettuce per day (for volume!)
Mackerel in brine
Anchovies in Olive Oil
Very light olive oil for cooking and mayo-making
Eggs
Coconut milk and creamed coconut, to make yoghurt and fat bombs with.
Gelatin, and Collagen from Great Lakes
Coffee
Stevia tabs
Whatever spices I fancy - usually Smoked Paprika and Cumin
EDIT: Almost forgot - this has become my new best friend! - Nutritional Yeast Seasoning
Not a massive list of inspiring food, I know! I do like to keep a simple routine - though I am experimenting with different stuff, this week I'm trying out home made jelly babies!
Brewer's yeast is different, do not recommend.
[This] (https://www.amazon.com/Bragg-Organic-Yeast-Seasoning-4-5-oz/dp/B002863BIW) is the good good. Bulk bins or some places have the shakers or a cardboard cylinder like the kind oatmeal comes in.
Nutritional Yeast
I put nutritional yeast on my eggs and popcorn. It's good.
Braggs brand is what I typically buy
Flakes are my favorite - Braggs or Now are both great.
Gift One: There's no way this is gonna happen, but it's worth a shot (By the way, rasta, you look incredibly stylish today, is that a new sweater?)

Not OP, but I used to drink generic, regular coffee with 2 creams, 2 sugars. After trying "better" coffee and playing around with the Keurig at work, you begin to appreciate the actual blends and boldness of coffees, whereas adding creamer and sugar actually ruined the taste(s) for me. Aka different blends, stronger roasts, etc etc.
Right now, my favorite coffee is San Francisco Bay Fog Chaser and it's delicious!
$29.75 for 80 San Francisco Bay Fog Chaser cups is tough to beat.
It's good stuff for Keurig coffee, and the cups are 97% biodegradable, so you don't have to feel like a schmuck for wasting a shit ton of plastic.
But they make it conveniently!
Have you tried the San Francisco Bay Fog Chaser? It's actually really good. The mesh bottom helps I think. And relatively inexpensive.

Have you checked out the shirataki noodles? They're pretty good. A little slimy with a texture similar to Ramen Noodles, but pretty awesome for how low in calories and carbs they are. And don't let the naysayers scare you away talking about the smell. A quick rinse and it's gone.
I just ordered this, hoping it turns out well. I got the variety pack which has 2 packages of "rice"

I don't know if it will work for you, and by this point it is almost cliche, but... coconut oil. I look ridiculously shiny when I go to bed each night, but this has been one of my first winters where it didn't feel like half of my face was flaking off. This is what I use and a tub of it usually lasts me about 5 months, so it works out as not being too expensive. I use it on my face, legs, hands, everywhere. It is magic.
You could order it on amazon! It's usually in the "natural foods" section of stores, if that helps. You won't find it by beauty products, it'll be with cooking or pantry items. It says Walmart carries it in stores, so check in a few places. It might be in the pharmacy section by supplements (e.g. Vitamins), in the cooking section by other oils (e.g. Olive oil), or in a natural foods/organic section.
The powder is actually flour and cheese and milk dehydrated.
>On an industrial level, cheese powder is made by spray drying. That means it is melted down into a liquid, combined with additives, and then sprayed through a nozzle to convert it into droplets. The droplets are then blasted with hot air and vaporized, resulting in a powder.

I put this on everything, but I highly recommend trying it on veggies. Brussels, green beans, asparagus - all are really well complimented with it. Despite being “Cajun” it’s not as spicy as it is flavorful.
I put it on everything (instead of salt).
I'm originally from Louisiana, lol. :D Spices are a given, but I find that people tend to be locked-in on what they like! Here are my favorites (this is outside of stuff like garlic, etc), which are cajun & latino in flavor.
EDIT: But yeah, I didn't mention spices because whenever I mention the ones I like it's usually ignored :D
Last week I went camping with a pair of friends. This is what we made.
For dinner we cut up some red potatoes, red peppers, onions and bratwurst. Seasoned it with a bit of this stuff and fried it in the skillet. It came out great. Very easy, very tasty.
Another good way to cook is to just take food and wrap it in aluminum foil. For instance, take a potato, cut it open lengthwise, sprinkle in some minced peppers or whatever. Spread butter all around the outside of the potato and put a bit inside with the onions. Then wrap it with at least two layers of aluminum foil. Drop it in the hot coals of the fire. Make sure you count how many you put in, they can get pretty charred and unrecognizable. Test for doneness with a fork.

5-6 pieces and we're red faced and snotting and your tongues usually numb by that point. And we love hot food and can eat less than 10 pieces back to back before it's just too much
1.5 Tablespoons of this stuff in the marinade Nice and smokey and the heat comes on slowly. After piece 2 it's usually in full effect.
The funny part is the first piece isn't hot so non-hot-food people say "Oh man I love the flavor and it's a little hot but not too crazy" and a minute later "......" is all you get about midway through piece 2.
If you wanna try it, this sauce comes highly recommended: http://www.amazon.com/Daves-Ghost-Pepper-Jolokia-Sauce/dp/B001PQTYN2
I use daves ghost pepper sauce on a lot of things. I'm aware that the hot sauce is significantly less hot than the actual pepper.
It doesn't matter if you're immune to hot or can't handle hot. It's the same for everyone.
I can put it on my burritos now like most people put taco bell mild sauce on their burrito. I barely notice the hotness anymore. But for the longest time, it would melt my face. I mean it felt as if my face was melting off. It's the only hot sauce I've ever been able to feel through the ENTIRE digestive process. It took me forever to build up tolerance, but I forced myself to suffer and now it's nothing to me.
If you get some of that hot sauce and force yourself to suffer, there is next to nothing out there that will be spicy to you. Thai food used to make me sweat like crazy. Not I can walk in and ask them to make it as spicy as possible and I barely notice. My tastbuds still work fine. I remember exactly what food tasted like before, and it still tastes exactly the same. (I've had a lot of people say I was burning my tastebuds off).
tl;dr: Go buy some of that hot sauce and build up tolerance. (start with one drop in a bowl of ramen and work your way up from there.) Force yourself to suffer.
I'm on a mission to find something hotter.
How would you compare the heat to other ghost sauces like Dave's?
Seeing you casually eat a whole spoonful makes me assume it's just piss-weak sauce with some good flavors. Not dissing your ability to eat spicy food, but I'm genuinely curious as to how it matches up.

There's science behind the issue with the protein quality being poor and including the warning is an FDA requirement (see below).
I've never actually seen the label in person. Here's an example.
> When the protein in foods represented or purported to be for adults and children 4 or more years of age has a protein quality value that is a protein digestibility-corrected amino acid score of less than 20 expressed as a percent, or when the protein in a food represented or purported to be for children greater than 1 but less than 4 years of age has a protein quality value that is a protein digestibility-corrected amino acid score of less than 40 expressed as a percent, either of the following shall be placed adjacent to the declaration of protein content by weight: The statement "not a significant source of protein," or a listing aligned under the column headed "Percent Daily Value" of the corrected amount of protein per serving, as determined in paragraph (c)(7)(ii) of this section, calculated as a percentage of the Daily Reference Value (DRV) or Reference Daily Intake (RDI), as appropriate, for protein and expressed as a Percent of Daily Value. When the protein quality in a food as measured by the Protein Efficiency Ratio (PER) is less than 40 percent of the reference standard (casein) for a food represented or purported to be specifically for infants through 12 months, the statement "not a significant source of protein" shall be placed adjacent to the declaration of protein content. Protein content may be calculated on the basis of the factor 6.25 times the nitrogen content of the food as determined by the appropriate method of analysis as given in the "Official Methods of Analysis of the AOAC International," except when official AOAC procedures described in this paragraph (c)(7) require a specific factor other than 6.25, that specific factor shall be used.

I ordered these and they're pretty good. I also started brushing low carb tortillas with olive oil, cutting them into chips and baking them until they crisp up. Depending on the brand the carbs can add up but they're pretty filling with cheese and pepperoni so I don't wind up eating too many.

When it comes to crunchy snacking there is no equal as far as carbs maybe oven baked cheese chips?
The obvious answer here is to not use that cookbook that you were given, and find recipes online that better suit your situation.
>even when I am back at school I can rarely find vegetarian "specialty" ingredients
You don't need to eat jackfruit, seitan, or tempeh to be vegetarian. Speciality ingredients can be expensive and not neessary (buying gluten flour to make your own seitan might be a good idea, but don't buy the packed stuff - it's just not worth it)
When I first went vegetarian and then again when I first went vegan I spent a lot of time on the internet researching recipes. I ignored the ones that had obscure ingredients and still found scores of recipes that I could use. I'm not sure where you are looking.
Nutritional yeast, though, is something that you should invest in. Order some off of amazon if you need to. It's an ingredient that i use everyday in one way or another.
I learned how to cook with basic vegetarian ingredients before stepping up to trying the specialty items. Eat grilled cheese and soup, make a chickpea spread and eat it on toast. Saute vegetables and cook beans and eat with rice. Cook falafel or fry eggplant. Cook a spaghetti squash and make a mash of vegetables to go with it. Make pad thai. There are so many options that don't require special ingredients. If you come across something that has just one ingredient that you don't have, try to replace it with something else or just leave it out completely.
Just experiment with different kinds of food and find out what you like and what's easy to make.
If you get it while it's warm you can sprinkle nutritional yeast ontop. It's got a mild cheesy flavor and it's good for you too. https://www.amazon.com/Bragg-Nutritional-Yeast-Seasoning-Premium/dp/B002863BIW
Nutritional yeast! Holy Smokes, Batman!
Vegan queso that looks so good, even my non-vegan self would eat it!
I can't imagine life without cheese. Do you use nutritional yeast? It is the best vegan cheese substitute, in my opinion. I use it on my popcorn and tofu. Cheese me please!
NOOCH and oysters for B12
I got the sweet and salty kettle corn Boom Chicka Pop! Really tasty popcorn. Nooch is slang for nutritional yeast - it's basically vegan cheese powder that is loaded with B12. You can find it at most stores. This is what it looks like.
I got the Target Organic brand pizza crust. [This] (https://www.fooducate.com/app#!page=product&id=563D4468-9F7B-E1AC-42DE-933017866F99) is what it looks like.

If you need a cheesy flavor on things like spaghetti, tacos, etc, give nutritional yeast a try. It's a decent enough substitute. And if you're a food crafty-type person, you can actually make your own fake cheeses. It takes some effort, but from what I've heard it's a worthwhile effort. Here are some recipes to get ya started: pesto cashet ricotta pizza | how to make vegan cheese | the best tofu ricotta
Cook Books- thug kitchen, thug kitchen, thug kiiiitchen! (the original is essential, the other two are just ok) and 'Isa Does it' which is a little more involved but DAAAAAAMN those recipes are worth it... just had her mushroom and tofu stroganoff tonight. Feeling so fat and happy!
Things I wish I would have known sooner- so many people will confuse vegan and GF 😑 and it's 100% easier to just bring a filling snack to share to parties then just trying to eat the whole veggie tray. Chances are most people won't want your "weird vegan food" and so then you can eat it all and won't go hungry! Yay! Unless they do try it and like it then you get to shout HA ITS VEGAN! Double yay!! Just kidding, kind of. But really social things got so much less awkward when I just started bringing my own bomb dishes to "share". Also a lot of cities have local vegan meet ups/ Facebook groups and it's nice to be apart of those, and people In my city are always sharing what groceries have sales/ new veg items. That really helps!
Go to meals- I ate A LOT of gardein and freezer steam in bag veggies when I first went veg, I never even cooked real tofu on my own until years later. I was a lazy asshole who ate at McDonald's. BARF. Also Vegan Basil Cashew Cream Lasagna and the best cheese sauce for Mac and cheese or literal pour it on anything: BEST vegan cheese sauce
Oh and if you haven't discovered my lord and savior cheezus NOOCH ...you need this in your life ( also used in above recipe) : Nutritional yeast

I use them all the time! They are 1 net carb per every tablespoon. For a single serve dish 1 tablespoon is pretty much perfect.
They are reminiscent of cheese. I will usually add them into cauliflower rice, shirataki noodles, sprinkle on roasted broccoli, etc.
I highly recommend trying them, the first 1-2 times you taste them you might notice a slight metallic kind of iron-y taste, but I swear I love this stuff. The vitamins and low carb count are worth it.

We use these biodegradable pods:
San Francisco Bay OneCup, Fog Chaser, 80 Single Serve Coffees https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007Y59HVM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_kkp5xbRPV1H5R
We buy them at Costco and my coffee snob DH enjoys them ;)
You can also get a reusable keurig filter and fill it with your own coffee. You just have to not overstuff it, and wash it of course!
Consider the SF Bay Fog Chaser. It's the best kcup I found where the taste isn't so compromising, and is (supposedly) environmentally friendly!
I used the reusable K-cup thingie in my home Keurig, and it never worked right after that (we ended up replacing it shortly thereafter). I thought it was just bad timing, so I used it in our office one, and we had to buy a new office one then, too. I don't know why, but I had terrible luck with those.
I buy San Francisco Bay K-cups. I first saw them at Costco (which no longer sells them), loved them, and kept buying through Amazon. They are working towards 100% biodegradable packaging. Their K-cups don't have plastic on the bottom (just a plastic ring), and the bags that hold the K-cups I believe are compostable. My favorite flavors are Fog Chaser and French Roast: https://www.amazon.com/San-Francisco-Bay-Coffee-Compatible/dp/B007Y59HVM
FYI, you can buy delicious, cheap, completely biodegradable k cups on Amazon. There are also plenty of recyclable brands out there as well.
And another, even cheaper overall!
http://www.amazon.com/San-Francisco-Bay-OneCup-Coffees/dp/B007Y59HVM/ref=pd_bxgy_gro_text_z
That sounds about right for k-cups. That's about 75 cents per cup.
I usually pay between .50 and .60 when I buy k-cups.
You can get them for as cheap as 36 cents each on amazon
Of course, it's still more expensive than grinding and brewing your own coffee (which you can also do anyway with reusable K-Cups), but the convenience factor is what you're paying for.
Get your K-Cups from Amazon, you can get them pretty cheap and in bulk. Personally I like San Francisco Bay Coffee's Fog Chaser blend. Nice bold cup, plus it's fair trade and the k-cup is biodegradable.
HOWEVER, if you still need your K-Cups fix, this is a good deal:
http://www.amazon.com/San-Francisco-Bay-Coffee-80-Count/dp/B007Y59HVM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1375811572&sr=8-1&keywords=fog+cutter+coffee
You lucky duck.
I can't be too jealous because I also found a Kuerig at my local Goodwill. It was 12 bucks and pretty much brand new. I think it's the Keurig B40 which only has two cup sizes, which is annoying since they're both small...
The one thing that bugs me about these machines is the fact that they produce so much waste. I ended up getting these K-cups because not only were they the best deal, but they are also bio-degradable. Not only that, it's actually damn good coffee:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007Y59HVM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
This will also work.
Plus, add some garlic and onion powder.
Haha I order mine on Amazon. It's awesome--http://www.amazon.com/Cheddar-Cheese-Hoosier-Hill-Farm/dp/B008GG9ZS8
Whatever you do you can get more cheddar and sour cream pretty easily. Best use for powdered cheese is making a bechemel based mac and cheese more cheesy, but really anything you're doing cheese can be made more cheesy. Also sprinkle on snacks. I'll lightly oil some rice cakes and shake it with cheese powder in a bag, like disks of pirates booty.
Why not just buy it off of American Amazon? I buy books off of the UK one all the time, so it shouldn't be an issue. I have bought this cheese a few times, its quite good.
Sharing link via phone, hopefully it doesn't break! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BTMDALO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_-Z7zDbYJQ0V6W
I am not too great at cooking meat, so my keto journey has become all about the lazy snack food. Amazon has a ton of things that are simultaneously low calorie and low carb - Here's some of my favorites:
I've been switching back and forth between a couple of meals. Pretty basic overall:
Other than that it has just been plain salads, greek yogurt + chocolate whey powder for a snack sometimes, Soylent, coffee, and lots and lots of water.
That said, I just ordered some Shirataki Pasta and PB2 for some additional flavors in my life :) We'll see if they're any good.
Get cold-pressed unrefined virgin coconut oil. Organic is nice too.
My bf and I have used [this one] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DS842HS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_.jBCybHBXY6PW) for years with no problems. It's also sold at CVS.
Keep in mind, though it does not seem to be comedogenic for either me or my bf, it can cause breakouts in people who are more sensitive. So always patch test first.
What kind of boxes and litter are you using? Where are the litter boxes placed?
Box size, in my opinion, is the biggest factor in whether or not a ferret will use the box reliably. Most ferrets prefer to be able to get their entire bodies into the box and have room to turn around. A lot of the smaller triangle and square boxes don't allow room for this. I personally use a cat sized litter box. It doesn't have to be a jumbo sized one or anything, just a regular cat sized box. I used a scissors to cut away part of the wall in the front so they can get in and out of it easily. Since I started using cat boxes about 2 years ago, my ferrets have been amazing with going in the box. There hasn't been an accident in months.
Next on the importance list is box location. Please keep in mind that ferrets are burrowing creatures. They like places that are dark and enclosed. The reason why ferrets back up into a corner to potty is because their ancestors in the wild are actually solitary creatures. Backing up to potty allows them to keep an eye on their environment so they aren't vulnerable to attack. Ferrets still have some of that instinctual behavior, so having a box with high walls, and putting it in a corner will help a lot. Just as an example, I have a box in my closet and one underneath an end table.
It's also important to note that sometimes it's easiest on everyone involved to just give in to them. If they have chosen a place to potty, and they do this continually.. just put a box there. It will make them happy and save your sanity and your floor. I see so many people who are vehement about forcing their ferret to go to a specific place to potty. They are hilariously stubborn animals. They will not let you win that battle.
As for litter type: many ferrets do great with pelleted litters, many do not. My ferrets do not like pelleted litters, and so I switched to a scoopable litter made from walnut shells and it made an absolute world of difference. Also, if you are using pelleted litters, be sure that you are completely dumping out the box and refilling it every 3-4 days. Perhaps consider trying a new litter type? Be sure to mix the old with the new 50/50 for a few days so they don't get the idea of digging in it.
(Just a note, since there's always someone who want to try to tell me that scoopable litters are bad: they aren't. The things to avoid in litters: anything made from cedar, anything made from clay, anything that is artificially scented, and anything that contains "crystals". Natural litters made from things like wheat, corn, or walnut shells are safe (Swheat Scoop, World's Best Cat Litter, and Blue Buffalo walnut shell litters are I think the most commonly used) - they do not harden and expand like clay litters. The clumps fall apart fairly easily, and if a ferret for whatever reason decides to dive in - they are made from natural materials that aren't going to harm them.)
That's just my 2c. Using a scoopable litter, a cat sized box, and keeping the litter boxes in covered places works for me. I legitimately cannot remember the last time my ferrets missed the box.
This booster carseat would prove extremely useful, as my son has outgrown his toddler one. Also, with a new baby coming it will be nice to have a carseat that is easier to work for the big brother. :) It's on my high priorities wishlist.
Either that or this coconut oil on my $10+ wishlist. I hear it does amazing things and I'd really love to have some! And I bet you could find a use or two for it, as well.
You want the 100% all natural kind, no preservatives or chemicals. Basically, if you look at the ingredients list, there should only be one thing: coconut oil. Besides that, I can link you to the specific brand that my girlfriend and I enjoy off of Amazon. I'm on my phone though so it might take a bit.
Edit: Here's the link: Viv Lab's Extra Virgin, unrefined, 100% Coconut Oil

Plus it doesnt look nearly as greasy on as some of the meds weve tried have. AND it seems to be accomplishing the same things the meds have without having to use creams with possible side effects etc. since none of the meds have done anything more than loosen the plaques (they always come back) for now were just going to try treating the symptoms.
Annoying how hard it used to be to get MSG. Thank god for Amazon!

If you want to make some at home.
Well you see, the korean for it, 불닭볶음면 means fire chicken stir-fried noodles, so I imagine that if you searched for spicy chicken noodles on Amazon, you'd find it. Note that it's the original, not the newer cheese thingy.
edit: take your pick of these, they are all the same
I would try this one by Samyang. It's been featured in so many YouTubes for the spicy korean noodle challenge. A 7-8 out of 10. It's spicy with a sweet after burn. And it's a "dry" ramen where you dump the water out, and coat the noodles with the fiery sauce and stir it in. There has since been a 2x spicy of the same brand. Haven't tried... don't think I'd enjoy it. lol
This one by Paldo has more of a jalapeno kick to it. I'd say it's a 5-6 out of 10 on the spice level. This is less spicier then the Samyang, but taste-wise I like the Samyung. Hope that helps... report back of what you think! :D
こっちのほうが辛そう
Ajinomoto is the OG manufacturer of msg, so look for their label at the Asian grocery. Or, here
Get some of this. Mix a bit of powdered sugar, salt and this with it before you sprinkle it on. You can use a fine mist sprayer to squirt on some lime juice so the powder adheres if you want. Using these ingredients, you will have the ability to bring the flavor you seek well beyond insane. If you want to take it to the next level, grate the skin of the lime into the powder, mix it up and let it hang out there for a bit before you use it. This will give you the lime aroma. You will now have the best lime chips you have ever consumed in your life. If you want to advance from there, buy some tortillas chop them into triangles fry them up in some canola oil till crisp. Set them on a wire rack and sprinkle on your mixture.
I get this kind from Amazon. Cheap, lasts a long-ass time.
I just use MSG since it's so freaking cheap.

These noodles my parents bought for me once. They're so spicy, but the actual noodles and flavor are painfully great.
tteokbokki - it's spicy rice cakes, eggs, fish cakes, spam, etc swimming in a red hot chili sauce'
edit: their medium is similar to the famous ssamyang fire chicken ramen
Instant ramen, but the good stuff, usually spicy - at least 2nd or even 3rd tier (measured by number of soup/spice packets). It's shelf stable, and easy to toss in whatever extra protein and veggies we have.
A lot of spicy sauces, and especially asian ones, have sugar added to balance out the saltiness of soy sauce (which does technically have carbs in it).
That said, you can find the ingredients on Amazon and it does list white sugar, tapioca starch, and roast sesame (presumably seeds), all of which are carbs.
Love spicy food.
Every time I go to my local Korean market, I buy a big thing of kimchi and a pack of fire ramen.
Start by boiling the noodles, then sautée onions, garlic, kimchi and whatever meat I may have, add the hot sauce, add the noodles and some noodle water, and stir fry. Then add a raw egg and mix it kind of creating a carbonara sauce with the ramen. I'll then spoon in some hemp hearts, sesame seeds, and some chopped nori and mix it up.
Super spicy, but it's my go to quick meal right now.

Actually I just decided to check amazon.
1 pound of it for 7.50, or I can get it in a shaker, 3.5 ounces for 8.50.
Grabbing a pound and using my own shaker, MSG is such a nice flavoring.
You can buy it on Amazon with free Prime shipping here. I usually get Ajinomoto brand from Japan.

Look I'm not some MSG conspiracy theorist who thinks that it's gives you cancer or some other shit. I use this stuff every day and I'm well aware it's already in lots of foods like mushrooms. Also glutamine is an essential amino acid so you're gonna need to eat it in some form anyways.
I could understand if somebody really likes MSG and wants to use 10-20x more than I do. But if this guy is really using MSG by the bucket full that is at least two orders of magnitude higher. This is usually the largest packet they come in. Notice that it's 1 lb (already 10x what I use in a year). A "container of MSG as big as a baby" would be more than 10lbs! That is just a whole another playing field. That guy's using restaurant levels of this stuff while cooking for himself! That level of consumption is unheard of!
If you've ever cooked with this stuff, you'll know that you don't need very much. And like with any other spice, if you put in too much, it will just taste artificial and weird. This is way beyond "I like the taste of it" and more like "I'm addicted". "Cook to taste" will only get you so far, and if you're using as much as OP claims you must either have really bad taste or killed most of your taste-buds.

I'd recommend Aji No Moto brand. They're the same exact thing, but yours is over $15 for two pounds; mine is $6 for one pound.
Recipe (sorry for posting late, got caught up with.. stuff)
As a note, this bread turned out to be relatively sweet and dense, in comparison to what I'm used to. It doesn't taste like regular bread.

For those who have yet to discover pure MSG
Amazon has some.
I bought a bag of this two years ago and it is still going strong. Use it like salt when you want a little more umami in your dish. Really great stuff!
Yep. Growing up, my grandmother referred to it by one of the brand names, Ajinomoto, I had no idea it was actually MSG.

I make what we call cheesy noodles (velveeta, butter, cheese powder, milk) with it. It's what comes in the Kraft box. Only complaint is that it clumps and I have to use a mortar and pestle to break it up. Plus side is there does not seem to be a anti-caking agents added.

12 bags, only thing on my Amazon Wish List.
Or you can find them in gas stations. Mix them up with some Flavor Blasted Goldfish. Trust me.
Enjoy.

You know they sell bags of just the rye chips right?

Idk if that's what Five Guys uses, but it's what we all use in South Louisiana. Pronounced "Sah-shur-ee's." You could try Slap Ya Mamma seasoning, too.
Get one of these, use it to steam your veggies until they are soft, and sprinkle some of this on em.
So. Friggin. Good.
Not too spicy, I used this creole seasoning, used 1.5 TSP and had some zing to it but wasn’t spicy. The recipe called for the garlic sauce so I got some and don’t regret it one bit.

I used to buy carton egg whites, and put them in this microwave omelette maker. It takes like 5 min to make a whole omelette. All you need is the egg whites, some shredded cheese, chopped veggies (buy Pico DE Gallo it works perfect) and a touch of Cajun seasoning
Exceedingly good calorie density: peanut butter, almond butter, shots of olive oil, whey protein shakes with a cup or two of milk, heavy whipping cream, delicious coated almonds .
here and here are also acceptable choices.
They sell them on Amazon for cheap. Well, at least cheaper than my grocery store. http://www.amazon.com/Emerald-Cocoa-Almonds-Chocolate-Canister/dp/B001EQ55RW/
Not worth it if you can't stop, or if they stall you. But otherwise... mmmmmm!
These are my favorites for such an indulgence. 6g of carbs, 3g of that is fiber.
I would like to chime in that the Emerald Dark Chocolate almonds are also GREAT and only have 1g sugar instead of 4g sugar in Blue Diamond's.
Emerald's do cost about 2x's as much as these ($.50/oz instead of $.25/oz). Amazon Emerald Dark Chocolate Roasted Almonds
Careful when you're eating that flavor, they have a few more carbs per serving. For chocolate almonds I like these, they're pretty tasty!
I eat these and they fucking rock, plus they are a good source of fat

awesome! check out /r/paleo and /r/keto for some advice about how to keep yourself full between meals and how to replace snacks with healthier ones. for instance, i'm a chocolate FIEND but i've found that cocoa covered almonds like these are a healthy alternative.
your diet will have more of an impact with your waistline than exercising. i use exercise to keep myself motivated to diet. i think to myself, why the hell would i want to waste all that time i just spent working out with by eating that candy bar? then i grab an apple.
I just picked up the dark chocolate cocoa flavour in eastern Canada yesterday but did not see this flavour. They are absolutely delicious!!
Refrence link
Found them on amazon!
I got them from a local store earlier today and they have been among the most delicious things I've eaten recently. These will satisfy my occasional chocolate cravings
Check these out. Not from Amazon, though -- your grocery store probably has 'em.
Edit: Fuck. I take it back. They contain a small amount of sucralose.
Umm...I can't possibly be the only person who knows about these, can I?
Best candy related purchase I ever made: the color-specific Starburst bags. Here is one from Amazon, but I found them at Wal-Mart too.
Wrong. There is a God, and it's ME (and Amazon).
Lucky for you, that's a thing.
This is kinda close at $18.96.
I should NOT get it because Starburst are DISGUSTING and I HATE candy with the burning passion of a thousand fiery suns. Also, I am NOT starting back to school soon, and I will NOT need any snacks throughout the day.

You gotta try Dave's Insanity Sauce if you like heat.
I like mixing this
And this
The combination is the best combination of heat and flavor. A few drops of each into a soup or onto some chicken and you will be sweating, crying, runny nose, all the good reasons people like spicy food. (Other people like those feelings too, right?)
You pick up a bottle of this.
Then you coat the sandwich in this. Not enough that it is noticeable while holding the sandwich, but more than a few drops.
The Naga Jolokia pepper rates at a 1,000,000 on the Skoville Scale. For reference that pepper is roughly 333 times as hot as an average Jalapeno pepper.
You taste a small amount of that sauce with expecting it, you'll think twice about anything you eat again. Plus, the sauce is quite tasty.
https://www.amazon.com/Daves-Ghost-Pepper-Jolokia-Sauce/dp/B001PQTYN2?th=1
Watch out, this sauce has got a bit of a kick. Don't know how often you die in melee, or your hot sauce tolerance, so be careful!
You can get it on Amazon.
Got that hot sauce for you. I had to taste this stuff before; it will keep you up for a long time(in agony)
http://www.amazon.com/Daves-Ghost-Pepper-Jolokia-Sauce/dp/B001PQTYN2
Nope. This is the one I have. (Got it on a snack exchange here on Reddit)
Dave's Ghost Pepper Sauce actually isn't too bad as far as taste goes. Not quite as hot as eating the pepper directly but is still enough to put a hurt on most people.
Pork Rinds. Cheap and tasty, but some people don't like the flavor. I sometimes put a few handfuls in a plastic bag and shake in some BBQ rub. Delicious!

These are great.
But be careful they can be addicting and go almost too quickly. Only 2 ingredients, prok rinds and salt.
This is going to vary quite a lot from person to person:

Hmm. How expensive are pork rinds in Hungary? We can buy a friggen 26cm tall barrel for <$8.
https://www.amazon.com/Utz-Pork-Rinds-18-Barrel/dp/B001YJ2VOO
I’m in California so they are everywhere. Amazon has these:
pork rinds
They were probably stale. Not a big market for them where you are. There is an online store for Utz you will have to contact them to see about Canada shipping. I hope they can help you. Also Amazon here, but these prices are steep for something you may not like. The Utz store sells by the case, but you can mix and match flavors.
I get the great big huge barrels of Utz from Costco. The ingredients, "pork rinds, salt" and are generally OK. I sometimes have them with cream cheese or nacho cheese/queso.
Sometimes you get the perfect crisp, sometimes you get the slightly harder-to-bite, sometimes you get the weird little puffs, but I haven't gotten any of the tooth-cracking chunks I've found in other brands, so generally Utz has been my go-to.
Amazon carries them as well - Link - I can't remember Costco's price, but I'm pretty sure it's cheaper.
So... apparently you have not found this yet....

I found this one in Amazon: Bragg Nutritional Yeast Seasoning, Premium, 4.5 Ounce.
Link to nutritional label
I was just looking for a similar recipe this morning. I guess if the Nutritional Yeast Seasoning is not OK, I could just use olive oil, salt and perhaps white vinegar.
It's only a week. You will be fine. :)
The only thing I can think of with a cheesy flavor is nutritional yeast. It's more like Parmesan though so not sure how it would be with eggs. Bragg Nutritional Yeast Seasoning, Premium, 4.5 Ounce https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002863BIW
If you're just looking for the flavor, wouldn't nutritional yeast do the job?
You could also add some Nutritional Yeast! It will make it taste like white cheddar popcorn.

I just bought these for the first time since I'm sick of cleaning the reusable and refillable cups. They're cheap and better for the environment, but I bought the Keurig for convenience. So what I just bought is good. Supposedly only the foil lid isn't compassable.

So I bought some cheese and sour cream & onion powders when in the States, because so many people raved about having them on popcorn. But, when I try putting them on, they seem to both be just a sticky-finger mess, and also not really add that much flavour to the popcorn. Am I doing something wrong?

Maybe some powdered cheese like this?
I used to keep a couple Cheetos in a pepper grinder. Much easier than trying to replicate but I’m sure it’s possible. You can buy just about any cheese in powder form and make your own blend.

Hells yes. I had one final canister of this stuff hoarded in the freezer from before they discontinued it, and went through quite a bit of it while pregnant. My grandmother always had a can of "Grated American Cheese Food" around, which is long gone, and I can't even find a pic of it on the Internets. Luckily this stuff is a fine replacement -- allegedly, it's actually Kraft powdered cheese.

Not sure if this is what you're looking for.
OMG that looks amazing! How important is the the white pepper? I have been having a hard time finding it locally, but it might be time to just order some... Also, zoodles are so freaking awesome. Have you tried these?
Have you tried Miracle noodles yet?

Copying and pasting for you my recommendations to a friend the other day who is starting Keto:
Your friends:
Avocados (very good fats + potassium), eggs, butter (I think you're allowed clarified butter on Whole30), veggies, fish, coconut oil (I get this at Costco), coconut milk (the pure stuff in a box or can), macadamia nuts (in limited quantities), Swerve / erythritol, sparkling water (La croix is fantastic), decaf or herbal tea - (green tea especially is great because it helps with fat-burning, balancing blood sugar, lowering appetite, and has lots of antioxidants), Cauliflower rice - this saves me, Roasted vegetables
Suggestions/links to purchase:
Magnesium supplement I use (should also help a bit with sleep)
Potassium additive - NoSalt or NuSalt - add it to your food if you're not getting enough Potassium in your diet (most people don't) - you can probably find this in the grocery store for less $$, but I don't know for sure
Decaf green tea I drink 3 times a day - it's decaffeinated with CO2, not chemicals, and it's organic.
SWERVE erythritol sweetener - 1 pack or 2 pack
STUR water flavor drops - for keto champagne or just to add to water
Miracle noodles - they are definitely available at Whole Foods, or you can also find them at a few asian grocery stores (shiritaki noodles). These taste bland and almost gross on their own, but if you add sauce and meatballs, they do a pretty good job of passing for spaghetti if you're desperate.
Silicone candy molds for keto fudge and other keto candies - they seem superfluous, but after you try making keto fudge in a regular pan, you'll realize how much easier these are for portioning and for getting out of the pan.
And finally, the INSTANT POT - I recommend this to everyone I know. My partner and I use it multiple times a week, it is amazing, it does everything. Pressure cooker, slow cooker, rice cooker, browner, yogurt maker (also makes julienne fries!!). Seriously you cannot go wrong with this thing.
Keto Recipes:
Keto Fudge
Keto champagne
Cauliflower Rice
Maria Emmerich has an impressive collection of recipes and I've been using the sweet ones especially for a craving / fat bomb

This was my first time trying them and I only tried the rice version. As far as I know they’re keto friendly. They’re pretty much pure fiber. I can’t say the added much in the way of flavor, they were there basically to soak up the sauce on my plate.
I bought these.

Amazon.com. This is the kind I use.
NOT MY CARD.
With this coconut oil we will lure the jerk who steals these cards by making delicious chicken cooked with coconut and other yummy ingredients. As he walks into the kitchen we will cover the floor with the rest of the oil! After he slips we will beat him with a frying pan! No more fraud!! yay!!!! :d
Just buy some decent quality popcorn (use 1/4-1/2 cup): http://www.amazon.com/Snappy-White-Popcorn-4-Pounds/dp/B00382UXU4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1394636740&sr=8-1&keywords=popcorn
Get some pure coconut oil (use 2-4 Tablespoons): http://www.amazon.com/Viva-Labs-Organic-Virgin-Coconut/dp/B00DS842HS/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1394636782&sr=8-3&keywords=coconut+oil
And some flavacol salt that's used by some movie theaters (use 1/2-1 teaspoon): http://www.amazon.com/Gold-Medal-Prod-Flavacol-Seasoning/dp/B004W8LT10/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1394636795&sr=8-6&keywords=coconut+oil+popcorn
And that's it! Get a big pot and put it on the stove... put the coconut oil in and let it melt. Add the flavacol salt and stir a little. Put one kernel in and wait until it pops... once it does just put all the corn in and turn it off when it stops popping every 3 seconds or so. Best popcorn around.
I use this: http://www.amazon.com/Viva-Labs-Finest-Organic-Coconut/dp/B00DS842HS/ref=sr_1_4_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1464626154&sr=8-4&keywords=organic+coconut+oil
I don't notice the coconut taste whatsoever but that's just me.
My favorite type of cake is funfetti cake,
Had it when I was 14 and have had it every year for my birthday since. I'm 23 now.
I first heard about reddit from my friend Dylan who would ignore all of us while hanging out because he couldn't stay off reddit. We wanted to see what it was all about and our lives have never been productive since.
Viva Labs #1 Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil by Viva Labs http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DS842HS/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_MxO3tb0263AZ2 I could really use this coconut oil to start helping my teeth and for slicking in my hair!
Sure thing.
I had to plug the text into google translate (haha), and i can see that jar is coconut puree. It will still contain oil that will usually float to the top. However that white paste is going to be the pureed flesh of the coconut.
You want pure unrefined coconut oil like this.
Hope that helps!!

UK, sorry :P
Apparently costco has a giant 54oz one from carrington farms that's supposedly cheap. Only get the organic, virgin/extra virgin stuff. Some of the non/organic stuff I've seen online gets review for strange smells+additives...wouldn't trust that stuff near my buddy.
Someone on r/sex recommended this guy too http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DS842HS/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_1?pf_rd_p=1944687642&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B001EO5Q64&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1EQQ1T6BQ5NR00SZ0SS7
I'd definitely do a coconut oil search on /r/sex to see a few different reviews though.
This might seem a little weird but screw it, I need coconut oil.
As most people in this sub already know, I cut all my hair off last month when my Dad died. I'm happy I could fulfill one of his last wishes but I went from waist length to above shoulders hair and I pine for it daily like you'd pine for a lost love.
Coconut oil is an insanely awesome deep conditioner and I'm trying anything to keep my hair healthy and growing as fast as possible.
Sure thing. I scoured the web and /r/MFA looking at guides until I settled on this method:
Note: I linked to the products I personally used. Allen Edmonds also sells saddle soap in a much more reasonable 3 oz size. If you used too much coconut oil, you may see a white film develop. Just rub it off with your cloth. This guide was also helpful.
Oh, I must be weird. I eat the rye chips and ignore the rest.
I flipped my shit when I found out they make these: http://www.amazon.com/Gardettos-Roasted-Garlic-Chips-8-0-Ounce/dp/B000IOC7RW
I'm just gonna leave this here.
Except you can still buy them
Although that would be interesting seeing them fail at making it, ice can buy it off amazon and try to sell it as premium grade drugs to crackheads on skidrow. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005SWKZG4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_eIRGAbVN72PMS
Try these zero sugar, 1g carb noodles
Available on Amazon.
Sure it's no meaty beef stew, but it is surprisingly delicious and hearty. It's basically vegetable broth with cabbage for some crunch and texture, plus mirepoix. You could add whatever veggies you wanted in addition as well.
Also this makes everything delicious, and reduces the amount of fat/sodium you'd otherwise use to make it tasty!
