Dem fingers. Use Gojo bro komochocho.

u/nmagod · 17 pointsr/vaxxhappened

My sister is into that "essential oils" garbage. See, my building had a bed bug infestation recently (that was fun, oh boy) and I noticed that the things almost instantly died if I put some Fast Orange on them, and brought it up when we all had to go to Montana for our father's funeral service. So, I get to hear all about how essential oils are vital, and good, and pure, yadda yadda.

u/address-unknown · 13 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

You need Gojo!

Make sure you get the cream kind, not the pumice. It will leave your hands a little oily (and frankly, not smelling great) so you’ll want to use a regular hand soap after. This shit will melt grease off your skin, no scrubbing required. Source: my late father spent his life working on cars and jar of this stuff was a permanent feature in his shop. Plus it’s $20 for 4.5 lbs of the stuff.

u/fullhalter · 11 pointsr/ultimate

The problem is that your hands are greasy afterwards, so what you need is a really good degreasing hand cleaner. Get some Gojo or Fast Orange, it's what most mechanics use to get automotive grease off of their hands, and it can be used without water. It's a thick paste with pumice particles in it to help rub off oils and grease, so just rub it into your hands and then wipe off with a towel. I keep a bottle of Gojo in my bag right next to the sunscreen and it works super well.

u/NeedsSleepy · 11 pointsr/antiMLM

I get mine from amazon. It’s 17¢/oz.

As every good pot head mechanic will tell you. This stuff works in an instant every time.

I'm in the same boat kind of, my gf hates the smell of smoke, so after I'm done smoking (outside), here is how I "cleanse" the smokey smell.

  1. Put the clothes you smoked in somewhere that you (and others) don't mind smelling like smoke...because it will to a non-smoker. When I get done smoking I leave my clothes in the wash room so me and my gf's room doesn't smell like smoke. Your clothes will be the #1 culprit for smokey stank.

  2. Shower (duh). Take a complete shower too, don't just rinse off. Wash your hair (smoke gets trapped in it), and soap up. I usually use a shower gel and loofah as opposed to my normal bar of soap. This step gets the majority of the smoke smell off of your body.

  3. After the shower when your boogers are all nice and steamed up, clean out your nose with whatever your preferred method is. Blowing it, getting a kleenex all up ins, or neti-pot rinsing it...this will get the smell out of your nose (but really, only you can smell it).

  4. Brush your teeth, use a tongue scraper (key part here), and then use a Gen3 mouth wash. The mouth wash I use is pretty damn good, and even my gf can barely tell I've smoked a cigar after this. It's called Smart Mouth and while it's expensive (about $10) it lasts quite a while and works very well.

  5. The trick to getting the smell off your fingers is regular white paste toothpaste. The grit works well to take the smell off your fingers, but really only you will smell that. That is unless you're touching somebody's face, then they can smell it, otherwise it doesn't permeate the air around you like you might think it would. Alternatively, I haven't tried this, but I'm guessing Fast Orange Hand Cleaner would probably work well too. It's a pumice hand wash and that's the whole idea behind the toothpaste. Having said all this though, smelling my fingers after a nice cigar is one of my favorite parts :) lol

    Hope this helps!

Got 4 pack of 21 oz Christmas hand soaps in decorative bottles for $9.99. Scents were pine forest, candy cane, and two holly berry. Similar to these Costco sold last spring

There are soaps specifically designed for removing grease from hands. I figured everyone knew about them. GoJo Orange Pumice Soap, Lava Soap, and Boraxo to name a few. Hell, even dishsoap is better than regular hand soap because it is designed to dissolve grease.

u/BRBPotatoFarming · 7 pointsr/bikewrench

This is what I use Permatex Fast Orange Hand Cleaner. I use it on my hands when I have grease on them and just wipe it on a rag and washing your hands afterwards is optional.

u/cloudychances1 · 4 pointsr/Endo

I'm so sorry they didn't treat you well or give you clear instructions on aftercare. I believe I waited 24 hours after my surgery to shower, but it could've even been 48... I'm pretty sure I was told it was ok to shower sooner than that, but I wanted to play it safe. (And definitely no baths or hot tubs or anything like that, due to infection risks.)

As for the belly button/incisions, I used a body wash called Hibiclens (small blue/green bottle), it's an antiseptic soap that my surgeon told me to buy to use before and after surgery. You can find it pretty easily at most stores/pharmacies, I think.

Good luck, and again, I'm so sorry your experience didn't go well. I too felt rushed out afterward and to this day it upsets me.

Edit: here's the link to Hibiclens: https://www.amazon.com/Regent-Medical-No-Model-Antiseptic/dp/B000PWE3CE/ref=sr_1_6_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1493430380&sr=8-6&keywords=hibiclens
I got mine from the store, though, not Amazon. I think I paid around $5-$6 for it. Also, I was instructed to get something to help with going #2 due to the pain meds causing constipation issues, so I bought Milk of Magnesia, which is pretty cheap and commonly found in most stores, as well. Don't wait too long to take that, which is what I did (I think I waited like 5 days lol. Not fun!)

u/impy695 · 4 pointsr/quityourbullshit

> the refills I get are about the same size as the actual soap but without the pump.

So, I get you were tired when you made the original comment, but this line in this comment stands out to me. Why do you buy a refill that is about the same size as the actual soap dispenser? I have always bought giant tubs that can refill the soap dispenser many times.

This has three 64 oz bottles with Prime shipping for $33: https://www.amazon.com/Softsoap-Soothing-Moisturizing-Refill-Bottle/dp/B01IG1JC9O?ref_=bl_dp_s_web_2600875011&th=1

I've never bought them on Amazon and just get them in the store (I buy them so infrequently so I can't really say how much they cost in the store), but you should really consider checking those out. They're significantly cheaper!

u/octobereighth · 4 pointsr/fountainpens

Lava Soap is my favourite, it's a bar soap that has pumice in it.

There's nothing it can't clean off your hands.

u/jaapeth · 3 pointsr/lasercutting

Yeah, it's 1/8 birch plywood so it gets a little glue residue on it and of course, some smoke marks and I read of a couple people using shop hand cleaner like Orange Gojo to clean it up and it works great. I just put some on a toothbrush and scrubbed it pretty good and then gently whipped it with a towel. (https://www.amazon.com/Gojo-957-Natural-Orange-Cleaner/dp/B000BDEYTE/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1492539181&sr=8-4&keywords=shop+hand+cleaner)

u/ChaosWaffle · 3 pointsr/MensLib

Get some fast orange, it gets the grease/grime right off your hands. I swear if I even look at the chain on my bike my hands become instantly covered in grease.

u/groceryfiend · 3 pointsr/AskReddit

this and this just sayin'

u/casher7 · 3 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

This is only for hands, but my dad owned an excavating company and he often came home covered in grease and dirt. We always had Lava soap bars around. He ordered them in bulk and kept them in the shop for the employees as well. My dad always kept a nail brush in the shower too to get all the dirt out from under his fingernails.

He had the same issues with callouses and I remember him keeping O'Keefe's in his work truck.

u/Trackjunkey · 3 pointsr/MTB

I'm pretty allergic to poison ivy and it's a big issue on my local trails.

Best solution I've found is some kind of mechanics soap. It can be found in any auto parts store or hardware store and its pretty cheap. Example https://www.amazon.com/Permatex-25219-Orange-Pumice-Cleaner/dp/B000HBNTX2

Basically I have this stuff in my shower, shower right after I get back from a ride. I shower top to bottom and separate into zones that could be contaminated and areas that are not. Head, upper arms, torso down to right above the knee (because i wear knee pads), this would be non contaminated area and wash like you normally would. Contaminated areas would be forearms and lower leg. Wash these areas with mechanics soap. I like the soaps with the abrasives built in, kinda feels like sand. You want to scrub well but lightly, making sure not to break or aggravate the skin too much. Then I simply rinse with water. Dry off the non-contaminated area with my regular towel. Contaminated area I let air dry if possible, if not pat dry with paper towels and throw them out.

You can use mechanics soap on a outbreak like you have but scrub lightly because you will break skin. Make sure to pat dry with paper towel. Do it twice a day and it should speed up recovery by a lot.

I no longer fear poison ivy , good luck!

I like Dr. Bronner's for everything. Follow it up with a balm or moisturizer, and you're all set.

u/lowellline · 3 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

Boraxo is a powdered hand soap that gets everything out. I work with grease and oil and terrible smelly things that are hard to get out unless I use Boraxo. It is somewhat drying, so I would moisturize after. This is not an everyday soap, but it is a very effective soap. My girlfriend, /u/yvva, uses it to get self-tanner off of her hands.

u/NexusDivine · 3 pointsr/boardgames

I prefer Fast Orange.

u/22444822244 · 2 pointsr/hygiene

Dr. Bronner’s gets everything off. Use it for just about everything.

u/handsopen · 2 pointsr/Frugal

Here's what worked for me! Dr. Bronner's tea tree castille soap and 100% pure tea tree oil. Wash your face with the Dr. B's in the shower every morning (you literally only need 4 drops for your entire face) and spot treat with pure tea tree oil before bed (put 3-4 drops on a wet cotton ball and dab it around.)

u/dkitch · 2 pointsr/triathlon

Congrats on the finish. The "tough it out and hope to finish" strategy is what I'm hoping to use next month (Lake Stevens Ironman 70.3, also pretty hilly but not quite as bad)

As for the temporary tattoo, I'm not sure if they sell it in the UK but Gojo works wonders for that type of thing if soap+water won't do. You'd probably find it at a hardware store

u/GasCans · 2 pointsr/lifehacks

Possibly GoJo ?

u/MjrGrangerDanger · 2 pointsr/RBNLifeSkills

Honestly your landlord should take care of all of it. I'd voice your concerns about the wood pieces being mold contaminated. They are potentially part of the cabinet though. The upper one is a countertop support if I understand correctly. It's easy enough for your landlord to have sealed if needed, though it may be a good idea to have the countertop treated and sealed as long as everything is dry.

I went back and skimmed your other posts regarding this as well. If you are still having mold issues in the apartment I'd let your landlord know. You can try washing everything with a bleach solution first. I noticed your reference to cleaning with bleach, vinegar and other chemicals. Just remember not to mix bleach with pretty much anything but water, dish detergent included. Laundry detergent that says in the instructions you can mix with Bleach is the only thing I would reccomend.

Ammonia, acids (vinegar is acetic acid, usually 4-6% solution out of the bottle, but you can get up to 40% easily and inexpensively), oxidizing agents like baking soda (sodium bicarbonate), hydrogen peroxide, Oxyclean (sodium percarbonate), or denture cleaning tablets which are great for household cleaning.

Using bleach in laundry - Oxyclean will neutralize bleach, so if you bleach laundry you can run the load through with oxyclean after to neutralize the bleach and this will keep the fabric from turning yellow. The small amount of bleach left reacting with oxyclean in your washer does not release enough chlorine gas to make you sick. However washing surfaces with strong enough solutions of something that reacts with Bleach before or after a strong bleach solution can result in a poison gas being released.

If you can still smell it on the surface don't use another chemical.

Please understand I don't think you are stupid, I know bleach is dangerous. My husband is a physicist, I'm a laboratory trained scientist as well. We have two bleach products only in the house. Clorox bleach crystals for laundry because I don't need to worry about spills, and Clorox cleanup I buy in concentrate and dilute to refill the retail bottles. I only use bleach products if I have to, otherwise I use steam, vinegar, D-Limonene a citrus based degreaser, and Dr Bronners Castille Soap. 4 years and just about out of Dr Bronners, LOL.

Is this the tan stuff? Amazon doesn't specify.

u/forgottenyellowbird · 1 pointr/RedditLaqueristas

I just ordered those little caps you put on the ends of your fingers! I used to use the sponge thingy in your photo, but I'm anxious to see how these work. This is probably going to get buried, but have y'all had any experience with the caps? I ordered these! :)

E2 under control. No high peaks or troughs. Clean sheets. Dr. Bronner's Pure-Castile Liquid Soap - Tea Tree oil 32oz.

u/TigressOfTheFarEast · 1 pointr/acne

I got mine from Amazon, but I'm 90% sure they also sell it at Whole Foods or GNC health stores. It comes with different oils, but I chose the tea tree version since it helps calm acne. It wasn't until the 2nd week that I noticed my acne calmed to maybe one or two spots, and they were VERY TINY spots so yes, Dr. Bronner's is a life saver!

u/SeveredKibbles · 1 pointr/minimalism

For me, the first three are taken care of by [Dr. Bronner's Tea Tree Soap] (http://www.amazon.com/Dr-Bronners-Magic-Soaps-Pure-Castile/dp/B0006NH946/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1426296853&sr=8-1&keywords=dr+bronners+tea+tree). Tea tree is an astringent, keeping acne-causing oils off your face, and it helps fight dandruff. I do use conditioner though.

I don't know that product specifically. This should do the trick.

Congrats on getting healthy and day three of no soda! You can do it! I like chocolate milk, learning, listening to music, taking mid-day naps and gifting people! I would love to try this Dr Bronners soap in either peppermint or tea tree oil because I am out of soap and this is organic and not tested on animals :) Any size would be great! Moon Knight. Thank you so much!

I had my first experience with duct tape a few weeks ago and didn't have much residue left on my skin afterwards. My partner has been into tape for a long time now and has learned that cheap tape is the best to work with since it doesn't have as much sticking power. he told me to get the cheapest stuff I could get my hands on, we are talking a dollar a roll stuff.

For cleanup I rubbed some hand sanitizer on my wrists to help break up the glue them just gave them a good washing and was good to go. We were at a party so it was what we had at hand. For future cleanup I would suggest some soap with some grit in it like GoJo, it will help break down any residue. Supposedly WD-40 will as well but use it on your skin at your own risk.

Thank you for recommending tea tree body wash. I am european but I found this (https://www.amazon.com/Dr-Bronners-Pure-Castile-Liquid-Soap/dp/B0001TSIB8) in my country and I'll be buying it tomorrow. Hopefully it will help.

I will also take a look at the TO glycolic acid! I use salicilyc acid from TO instead of stridex, as stridex seems to be hard to buy in Europe.

Thank you

u/Raikofire · 1 pointr/HelpMeFind

not really a kids toy, but you can find similar under bath confetti or bath soap flakes. I’ve found this sort of thing in most places that sell bath and body goods.

here’s something in a tube, though!

u/kvossera · 1 pointr/SkincareAddiction

I use Dr Bronners Tea Tree Oil soap.

I use Palmers coco butter or Nivea cream as a moisturizer.

I have oily skin.

u/Gullex · 1 pointr/Survival

Just the plain shop cloths in water? Huh. I wonder if dusting them first with something like this or this would be worthwhile.

u/adriftinthecosmos · 1 pointr/Pomade

I use Fast Orange.

It's an orange based pumice soap in a pump, meant for greasy mechanic hands! It gets even my stickiest, gunkiest clays off.

u/jojewels92 · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

These aren't on your list but since you like nail polish I think these nail soakers are a must have!

I find Dr Bronner's Tea Tree oil soap 1 or 2 times a week is a nice balance between keeping the natural oils in the hair, while keeping things smelling nice and clean. I find if I don't shampoo for too long, my hair looks good, but my scalp gets gunky.

Make sure you get the tea tree oil soap though. The peppermint soap left my hair feeling greasy.
