That part is actually easy. I've done it:

Confirm the thread pitch of your set screws, I believe it's 3/8-16. And then go shopping at Amazon, McMaster, etc. Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Monroe-MA-68252-Mounting-Adsjustable-Stainless/dp/B00FWUHQHS/ref=sr_1_37

That sir, is a thing of beauty. The color is particularly nice; I have a somewhat unnatural attraction to oranges, especially ones that border on obnoxious.

I don't suppose you know how much that high tech sound deadening material helps. I just lined my desktop case with yoga mat the other day and while I'd say it helps it's difficult to judge without a proper sound level meter. Even without the foam I'm guessing that the MDF does a pretty good on its own.

I'd probably add a couple recessed carry handles (something like this on each side and a dust filter on the front grill. Aside from that I suppose if you wanted to go totally over the top you could have mounted the rack on rubber bushings for shock and acoustic isolation, though, that would increase the total size fairly drastically and would only be useful if you planned on moving your lab on a regular basis (or if you lived in the Bay Area or other seismically active area).

I've been keeping an eye out on craigslist and whatnot for an inexpensive midsize rack but after seeing this its fair to say that I'm seriously leaning in the direction of a DIY solution.
