Yep, came to say this. You could also get a book about garbage trucks (maybe this one?) and make garbage truck noises when you read it - have her make them too. The idea is to expose her to it enough that it stops being scary, and also help her understand exactly what's making the noises and why.

How Cars Work: The Interactive Guide to Mechanisms that Make a Car Move

If I Built a Car

Cars and Trucks and Things that Go is the opposite of broken cars, but if my memory is correct, the pig family's car breaks down at one point, and there's one page with a massive car pile-up.

My son was (still is) certifiably obsessed with cars, like the makes and models you see driving down the road. He wasn't as into these two engines as I expected but they were still cute high quality toys:

Not engines, but we also got a lot of miles out those take apart type toys that come with their own drills as well as Auotomoblox.

These books are for much older kids, but they're awesome:

Good book.

It's not a massively creepy account, and I don't know if people will be able to relate to it, however this has had me wondering for quite a while.

I remember having a book when I was young, a quick Googling reveals it's called 'Monster Machines' (on Amazon here). I recall loving this book and reading it very frequently as a child but on one page, about a tractor, there was a photograph of the machine and for some reason I could not fathom then, even less so now, I found the seat in this photo genuinely terrifying.

Over time I grew out of this book and forgot about it until about two years ago I was clearing out my room and I found it. Remembering the photograph I quickly skipped to the page to see with the added lucidity and understanding you gain with age just what unnerved me so much, to my surprise the page had been removed.

I still have the book, it's in the loft now, though. I remain intrigued as to what it was, obviously it was something innocuous misconstrued however I can't help thinking that I would still see it and possibly understand it now. In all seriousness, if anyone has this book I would love to see a scan or something of that page.

Also apologies if I've missed the point entirely here. I think it's my first post.
