Get a spy pen, leave it on a trusted friend's desk while they're with you and tell them to make sure it's upright. Keep doing this until you get footage of someone getting beaten. Also what insane country are you living in because i'm british so if that's legal in america I will eat my shoe. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GQHBLM3/ref=psdc_12909791_t5_B077HRSNT4

I went through the EXACT same ordeal last semester! It is uncanny how similar the whole situation is. For a second, I even gave it a thought if my ex-roommate could've done it. lol

My monitor was damaged while I was away. Before that, I had had occurrences of things getting lost/damaged. I dealt with this last semester. Only difference is that we were living in an apartment. This is how I handled the situation:

After seeing the initial few occurrences of things getting lost and damaged, I got a spy camera from Amazon (Damn! Its cheaper now). Within 2 weeks of setting it up, it recorded multiple instances of my roommate coming into my room, going through my personal belongings and damaging the monitor. I took the recorded evidence to Office of Student Conflict Resolution which advised me to move out of the house and file a police report. I filed the report but didn't press charges. The report was necessary to have documented proof of the incidents which would've helped me break the lease of my apartment. I confronted my roommate about it and after initial hesitation, he agreed to it. The OSCR themselves followed up with my ex-roommate to help him with the reasons why he was doing this. He moved out after paying monetary compensation for all the stolen things and damages (including for things for which I didn't have a proof).

So, my advise to you is to get proof that he/she did it or have proof of him/her doing something of similar nature in the future. Since these things have happened before, there is a chance your roommate might do it again. An evidence of something done later can be backtracked to this. He/she might confess since you will have verifiable proof. Show it to a counselor at OSCR and discuss the matters. They will give you good advice on how to handle it. (btw, it is legal to put a spy camera in your personal room. However, not in a shared space like kitchen/living room)

If that sounds like an extreme measure, set up an appointment with a counselor at OSCR. They are very helpful people who will analyze your situation and can help to mediate out the situation if a resolution is possible. The mediation will be off the record.

I know how mentally unnerving the situation is. Hope this helps. PM me if you have questions or need some advice.

I was thinking about the whole pro scene cheating and I see that players still bring their own keyboards, mice and headsets which in most cases can be modified to run cheats undetected. Now for the more elaborate theory: for about $30 one can build a battery powered device that is fitted into player's shoe and can "poke" specific toe in response to somebody in the live audience sending updates of action! Right foot is A site, left foot is B site - now we get the combination of number of "pokes", length of them and position. With enough training you could be getting VERY detailed intel about your enemy positions in a way completely outside of the context that's being watched for cheats.

Edit:

Another way of enabling ez cheats would be using a headset like this with a direct feed of the casters within the arena. I wish to see how teams are performing when their sound proof booths are also faraday cages! Remember that what makes a cheat a great cheat is the fact that nobody would even remotely suspect you'll go that far or do something so outside of the box. Oh, have I mentioned they are playing for hundreds of thousands of dollars?

u/beth6han · 5 pointsr/Dashcam

What the heck is wrong with that guy?

As for catching him in the act, you are going to need a dashcam that features 'parking mode' so that you can have it recording while you are parked. There are several ways of powering up the dashcam without the ignition being on, you can hardwire it to the fuse panel or you can power it with a portable power bank.

Ideally you will need to have a dashcam that features buffered parking mode. This means that the camera will save a video recording from a period of time before an event occurs and after the event has passed, an event being a recording triggered by the motion detection sensor or the g-sensor.

There are not a lot of dashcams that have that feature, and of the ones that do, they are usually quite expensive. However, there is one that is reasonably priced and has a good reputation, it is the Matego MG380G dashcam priced at $99.95. I will provide a link.

The camera will take a memory card with up to 128GB of storage space which will give you about 15 hours of recorded video.
It records in high definition resolution at 1080P and has GPS.

You can check it out here: https://www.amazon.com/Spy-Tec-MG380G-Recorder-Dashboard/dp/B011PK7XQC

With these cameras you can set up motion alerts, email or upload to FTP pictures of the motion on a schedule. You can also view multiple cameras from one web interface. It's the best camera I've found for the money.

u/BitsyBlackbird · 4 pointsr/Ghosts

Not sure....my dad bought a few of them on a whim when drinking and Amazon-ing one night. He gave us one for our condo, too, and I’ve never picked up any dusty orbs (we have plenty of stuff floating in the air, too, with 4 cats. Lol).

it’s this little minion camera.

> Sadly, the gun laws in D.C. are atrocious and you can’t conceal carry.

Now you can.

Maybe a smaller (albeit totally defensive) step might be to wear a body camera like this one.

u/midgetman433 · 4 pointsr/nba

This thing here says 11 hrs of battery life on Amazon and it was literally the first result I got when i googled body camera, Im sure you can find 12.

edit: found one with 12 hr battery life

Some of the outdoor security systems have sound, you can rig that up around your house, just make sure to have a good view. You likely can’t legally direct the cameras at your neighbors’ property, but if it is focused on your property and gets their property incidentally, that may be kosher.

You can try a hidden pen camera, clip it to your shirt whenever you go outside. This model records audio and will datestamp and timestamp recordings. If you do this, make sure you are in a one party consent jurisdiction.

If/when you have enough evidence, bring the evidence to police for a criminal complaint, bring a lawyer with you when you go to the police. It’s likely harassment and depending on where you live it may be a hate crime. You can also file a civil suit, but confirm with lawyers in your jurisdiction the proper order for the civil and criminal cases.

Get a large but really friendly dog, like a Dane, St. Bernard, or a Mastiff, train him to bark on command, make the bark command some known Hebrew word like “shalom.” Whenever you see these neighbors, greet them with “shalom,” so the dog barks. Admittedly this is more of a long-term plan, and it’s not a solution as much as it would be amusing. The only downside is that you can’t say “shalom” in front of your dog without him barking.

u/wwsq-12 · 4 pointsr/aznidentity

Doesn't Hainu = 羽犬? A concession you can make is to use the English version of the Japanese word and just move on.

But this is difficult. If you can drop the class without having an incomplete that would be the best; otherwise, you kind of have to determine how it would look. I have had a similar situation happen to me and I just kept my head down and ended with a B in the class then got my friends and I to mass low-ball her evaluation (the professor was relatively new). She wasn't a professor again the following year from what I had gathered.

I would avoid going head-on; they hold a lot of power to manipulate and conduct character assassination to make you look like an entitled, angry, disgruntled student. Is there an office of diversity there? Some schools have that and can give you advice. Outside of that, you pretty much have to use legal counsel, which is extremely time consuming and expensive.

You can make this bigger or smaller depending on how much you have to risk.

Do you live in a state that has single side consent for recording? This has a list of all states wire tapping consents. https://www.mwl-law.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/RECORDING-CONVERSATIONS-CHART.pdf If you do, then you can record conversations with video to establish pattern. You would have to behave in a more deferential manner than normal, then seek legal counsel to see if you have a case. https://www.amazon.com/Camera-Recorder-Taking-Function-Memory/dp/B07DW6P592

Or, if find that there's no risk in recording; you can essentially record and publish to name and shame and warn other students. After they can't do anything to you of course, but still check legal.

I am on your side the other people here aren't taking you for your word. I can't think of any free service that will let you stream to a cloud or other PC. However hidden cameras are cheap. I have this camera:

Stuart Cam HD WiFi Camera Despicable Me https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NCLWHJT/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_OoL-Ab8VJQ55A

It's not anything special, but it's cheap and does the job.

The motion detection records 10-30 sec, sometimes longer, clips throughout the night. I can scroll through them to monitor her activity level and generally creep on her.

Here's a sample of video quality:

You're just looking for excuses that cops can use to evade accountability now, but the solution isn't "policy", it's technology. Cops can and do disregard policy whenever it is inconvenient for them, so it is essentially worthless unless their actions can be scrutinized on demand. It's no more effective at stopping police crimes than restraining orders are at stopping stalkers, it's just words on paper without any real power.

Here's a loop-recording body cam I found on Amazon with 5 seconds of searching. Are you unwilling to do any searching yourself, or unable?

u/damascusraven · 2 pointsr/BackYardChickens

I use an Easy N wifi camera. The coop is juuuust far enough away that wifi drops too much so I had to run an ethernet cable out. It has pan and tilt so I can move it around and see them in different areas in the coop. Also have a cam in the run too to see them during the daytime.

u/popit123doe · 2 pointsr/StarWarsLeaks

I found this one; only 45 dollars, cheap compared to the other $200 ones I saw.

The part about 'not require any wires': I'm not sure that is possible. All cameras will need power whether that power is 120v AC or a 12v DC solar setup. As far as technology in general goes I think the least amount of wires you can get away with in a camera would be a Power Over Ethernet camera and it would just have 1 wire to the camera but that is going to be a few hundred bucks easy for the PoE injector plus it would all be AC powered. You may have to do something like a solar inverter in your coop but that is going to be a little spendy.

I faced these same challenges and decided it was worth a Saturday of work to trench out some AC to my coop/run instead.

I have two of these. One in the coop and one in the run. The reviews are mixed (mostly cuz the setup docs are terrible but easy to work through). They've worked great for almost 2 years so far. They are a little slow, have no built in record functionality but do have wifi and ethernet, PTZ with presets and also pretty good infrared night set up. I can easily see my full coop and run with the infrared but my setup isn't that big (built for up to 8 hens).

You can get a body cam and document everything that happens around you.

The sun glasses are not for wearing, they're for hanging from a pocket or leaving on a table.

This pen is a new option. It looks like a nice upgrade.

u/Extreme_Archer · 1 pointr/fpv

I use one of these, which works perfectly.

It uses a clip to attach to the phone so phones with really small bezels like the 2 XL might have the top right part of the screen covered.

The MG380G might do it for ya. Not as good as the SG9665GC in night video but it's much better than average and it can handle the heat pretty well.

Accessibility? Here's a button camera you can get on Amazon for less than $20. That seems a hell of a lot more accessible, not to mention discrete, than a many-hundred dollar pair of glasses.

Do you have a "peep hole" in your door (where you can look through the door to see who is on the other side)? If so, there are cameras that will fit in that hole. For example: https://smile.amazon.com/800TVL-Hidden-Camera-DIAMETER-1-78MM/dp/B01F8FH8V0/

Unfortunately, this particular camera requires a separate recorder.

I have a few of the Wyze cameras (https://smile.amazon.com/Wyze-Indoor-Wireless-Camera-Vision/dp/B076H3SRXG/) and have one pointing through a window. Motion-sensing works fine during the day, but at night the IR reflects off the glass and makes it almost impossible to see outside. If you have Wifi, something like this would solve the problem during the day. If you are willing to risk the camera you could mount it outside using the magnetic base with double-sided tape that they include with the camera. You could probably run the usb power cable through the window or door. Even if someone does steal the camera, the video clip of the crime is saved to the cloud, and you are out "only" $26.

I know this isn't exactly what you are looking for, but it might still work.

u/just2browse2 · 1 pointr/JUSTNOMIL

That’s a really good idea. What about something like this? It’s not super small, but you could maybe hang it out your hip pocket and say it’s one of those step-counter things. Also it looks like it only has 3 hours battery life, but I’m not sure you’ll get any better unless you go for a full police body cam.

u/Tinkerer221 · 1 pointr/politics

Hell, they can even go James Bond on this with a [camera pen](SOOSPY Spy Pen Hidden Camera 1080P HD Mini Portable Camera Video & Photo Recorder Multifunction DVR Cam with Free 7 Black Refill https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0752DPCGV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_vXnOBb3Q4YJ2V).

Or a camera button that you replace a shirt button with. Here's an example. I don't know about camera glasses, but this'll probably be less noticable.

Something like what Impractical Jokers use maybe? Like this
