Yeah, I recently read this book: http://www.amazon.com/Revolutionary-Social-Change-Colombia-Direction/dp/074532875X/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1394231178&sr=8-2&keywords=FARC

It's really well written and shows that the FARC are and always have been a Marxist group with a sound analysis of the material conditions they're working in. It shows how most of the negative things you hear about them (like the idea that they're a drug cartel) comes straight from the US State Department and most news outlets never bother to check the facts themselves. It's a great read.
