I'm in Canada but I'm sure there are Amazon shops that ship from Europe/US!

Finished helping my buddy put in an RC track in his backyard.

Going to go to the local hobby store and try to get into a 1/18 scale setup. Haven't had an RC car since I was a kid, used to be NITRO fueled cars were the shiz now these electronic ones are little screamers.

Was thinking something like this https://www.amazon.com/Wltoys-A959-2-4Gh-Off-Road-Buggy/dp/B00LY45TY8

Probably not exactly what you were thinking but amazing pair of cars going cheap, clearancing out:

WowWee Robotic Enhanced Vehicles (R.E.V), 2-Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00VVGIBX0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_lx5mybH68PMKC

u/artist508 · 2 pointsr/airsoft

Yes, Banana to Airsoft Mini Tamiya. You already have a deans adapter for the charger? You could get Deans to Airsoft adapters, it's cheaper and there are 5 of them! But with all things Chinese, check they are Red wire to red wire before you use them.

Both the main cable and balance cables need to be plugged in.

Rides like a Little BEAST with these tires, highly recommend if you have a WL 12428. Top speed is higher as well!

Here’s the car: 1:12 2.4Ghz Off-Road Racing Car Remote Control Rock Crawler Truck RTR https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N7AQB13/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_f.B4CbW2Y3X6K

And the Tires (need to buy 2 sets): Flameer 1/12 Buggy Tires for Wltoys 12428 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JH5ZJCD/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_icC4Cb444RN6X

This one, maybe

Hm
I remember my dad bought my brother something like this (or maybe it was this haha) when he was about your sons age;

WowWee Robotic Enhanced Vehicles (R.E.V), 2-Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00VVGIBX0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_HNYmDbTA8R7X8

They’re these race cars you control with an app on your phone and they took them to this community center and would race them

He also bought him some robotic and coding stuff to try and get him to do more things hands on. For awhile my brother really wanted to design video games because of it all and would come up with ideas and stuff

I suppose if you're not super fussed about being absolutely scale...you can get one in 1/35 that you can actually drive.

See, e.g.: https://www.amazon.com/Orlandoo-OH35P01-Assemble-Climbing-Version/dp/B00VER9OEQ/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_107_t_0?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=ZYZ5S0TPVQ9V41R6G7K5

u/snazburg · 2 pointsr/rccars

You can try these guys out. Not sure how big you're looking for, these are 1/36 scale so they'll be about 5 inches long. They have 2.4ghz transmitters/receivers so you'll be able to run a bunch at a time without a problem. You should post what you were looking at and maybe I can help you a bit more.

u/jeffro422 · 2 pointsr/rccars

You could look at the Tacon Soar, or the Losi Mini 8ight T. Rough terrain isn't either of these vehicles strong suit but they do well on smoother off road surfaces. I have two of the Mini 8ight T and I really like them.

u/Lefthandedsock · 2 pointsr/rccars

It's been said, but I'll reiterate...

The Tacon Soar. It may well be my next RC.

u/Ialsofuckedyourdad · 1 pointr/rccars

I think it uses a 9.6 volt battery. It's a proprietary lithium battery, could I wire something like This In?

Or could I boost the voltage up a bit and run something like this

This is what the buggy takes normally

Link to the buggy I have

Edit: fixed some battery info

1:43 Cars - Generic Made in China, but boy are these SERIOUSLY good (I own two).

https://www.amazon.com/Blomiky-MPH-High-Speed-Race/dp/B07BFB9JXC/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=blomiky&qid=1557969914&s=gateway&sr=8-6

Yes, they're generic, but they're really small, REALLY fast, REALLY durable, and they have proportional throttling. But as you know, these are still considered "toys" (though I might even call them semi-hobby), so there isn't proportional steering. These guys are so fun.

But if you want quality, I recommended the Wltoys brand microcars, the Kyosho Mini Z (a bit pricy), or the Team Associated trucks (but I heard those aren't the best either and are pricy.)

Here's the one on the right: SummitLink Compatible Custom Body Eagle Style Replacement for 1/10 1/8 Scale RC Car or Truck (Truck not Included) B-E-01 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07K7HGHRS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_rYw4CbWBWG0T8

If I was made of money, I'd get this 27" long, 1/6 scale buggy, if only for the looks:

Oh wait, it's just 400€ / 600$ apparently: https://www.amazon.com/HBX-Brushless-4200mAh-Batteries-Charger/dp/B07366GLRB

That's what I'm looking at right now. I'm stuck on what servo and radio to get? They both seem to range from $30 to $80 and above.

While I don't want to buy outright junk to start, I also don't want to spend top dollar if it's overkill. Any suggestions on what to get for the radio and servo?

u/deenet · 1 pointr/radiocontrol

Yeah, I am not sure what you're looking at but I just recently bought this for my son..:

TAMIYA 1/10 electric RC Car Series No.625 MOTUL AUTECH GT-R (TT-02 chassis) 58625

u/RavenMarvel · 1 pointr/SantasLittleHelpers

I was only active in Neopet subs so Im not sure I count lol but anyway.
How mature? Because I think these are awesome and you can play alone or with another person using a smart device. I read that he has a kindle fire, so that would work, or even an ipod.

Hey, I intend to build one myself. Any idea on what the car needs to have to make use of it? I intend to use this one https://www.amazon.com/Wltoys-A959-2-4Gh-Off-Road-Buggy/dp/B00LY45TY8
I was told it has an ESC for the drive motor and a servo for steering, which I imagine should be enough for me to control it with a Raspberry Pi or an Arduino. I'll get a camera so that it can see, but at the moment I'm checking that the above two components are enough for the project, otherwise I'll look into a different car.
