Best home ashtrays according to redditors

Hijacking this comment to help anyone who smokes find a portable ashtray.

I got one from an outdoor camping event, mine is a small foil lined bag that I can put a lit cigarette in and it will snuff it out. It can easilly fit 10+ butts and has a snap for locking it closed.

Its smaller then the palm of my hand and takes up no space in my pocket. There are also hard unfoldable versions.

Over a billion kg of cigarette butts per year.. Cities spend millions of dollars cleaning them up. Having people around smoking has never really bothered me much, but seeing somebody throw a cigarette butt on the ground sends me into a rage. Get yourself a keychain ashtray/butt holder.

I have a mini ashtray with a similar design, but not sure what the threaded part would be for. It might be to hold the cigarette upright.

Get a portable Ashray and then you can just put it in that and put that ashtray in your pocket.

Great choice, this is as close to bong long as you'll get. This and a mighty have made it so gave up smoking. the evo has been a daily driver from the past 4 (or more?) years. Get more baskets for it. when they get resined up performance goes down. I like to have extra so I am not constantly cleaning them.

I use mine in a 18mm bong but I also really like the dhgate hydratube I got for like $35. I use a 12-noon heat setting or maybe 1 o'clock. First draw is long and slow to "warm-up" the herb. I generally stop and xhale as soon as I see thick vapor production starting. Then I hit it like a bong or bubbler, long hard hit, and the evo always keeps up. I generally get 2 or 3 good hit out of a basket. Most wispy ones if you keep going.

clean it as soon as the joint starts to feel sticky. I have had a couple of times where my hydratube has to be twisted off the evo because the joints are to sticky. Didn't break anything but I like to clean mine often to avoid the issue.

You should also get 2 things that make the experience better. Get a wifi controlled plug, evo takes a good 10-15 mins to warm up. I will turn mine on via the wemo app when I leave work. When I arrive home, my vape is warmed up and ready for use. It may sound ridiculous but to me it really enhances the experience to not be waiting for it to warm up when you really want a b-load after a long day at work. You can also program a wifi plug to turn off and back on every hour to avoid the time out feature. 2nd, get a debowler (or similar) ashtray to keeps your coffee table clean.

The Evo doesn't get too much love but it is my favorite vape and I always recommend it to folks who are heavy smokers or bong lovers.

They don't smell or anything.

I was able to have a friend machine me one but it has great reviews. You can get a cheaper version for $9 but it doesn't have the handle which makes a huge difference.

As I don't personally own it I can't say how good it actually is but if it's anything like what I have(and I'm more certain than not it is) it will work wonders and you'll have a great time with what you get.

You can also apply heat to get hash.

how hard is it to keep this tiny little device on yourself?

I bought a three pack of these packets (not this ten pack) after I was hanging outside more with friends who smoked, and noticed them occasionally tossing butts. These are a really good way to break the habit if you do want to be more mindful. These worked great as what I bought, but I'm sure any other with similar ratings would work just as fine.

I have old Jeep Wrangler with a stick, I used to just ash out the window and shift with the cigar in my mouth. Recently during our Secret Santa I got a stinky travel ash tray that I velcroed into a cup holder. Easier for sure.

Maybe you smoke so much that you can't smell it anymore, but an extinguished cigarette smells SO much nastier than just a lit one. Fuck that.

Cigarette butts are biodegradable, but I still prefer to toss em properly when I can, so I usually try to carry a smell-proof portable ashtray.

Feel like I could have written this comment except I have a Mazda and not a Jeep.

I got a box of these little cigarette butt pouches that do a nice job of keeping the ashy stank out. If I was out somewhere without a trash can nearby I’d just keep the butts stashed in my back pocket and usually need to wash them after. These little pouches help a ton and they’re pretty cheap.

Yup. From my experience, the best way to smoke while driving is to crack the window about an inch, run the air through the floor vents full blast to the the air flowing up towards the windows, and get a decent ashtray. I've got both this and this, but the stinky is the best for driving because of how it clamps the cigar into place. I keep the xikar for using with fold up lawn chairs or what have you.

By the way, just so we're clear, this is the kind of ozone genrator I'm talking about. Do let the ozone air out and dissipate before getting back into your car, though, as it's not exactly safe to breathe.

I would suggest buying a portable ashtray. There are some that even fit on a key chain. Seems like a pretty good solution to me that I wish more smokers would start using.

This is Tap Dat Ash, a silicone ashtray with a big rubber nub in the middle to hit your glass on and not damage it, plus 4 holes (2 14mm & 2 18mm) along with 4 slits along the side.
