(Part 2) Best home drug tests according to redditors

If you’re worried about passing a drug test, the first test is a simple stick test - they stick a stick in the sample and it tests. Because these are much cheaper than running the sample through a fancy chemistry machine.

If the stick test fails, then the sample goes on for verification with the fancy lab equipment. The pass / fail cutoff is less than what the first test measures, but if you pass the first round, they’re not going to spend the time and money to determine the actual concentration, so you pass.

These tests are manufactured in large quantities, and most testing companies (where you go to give the sample) follow the FDA/DOT guidelines (15mg/L, IIRC). Because so many of these tests are made, they are remarkably consistent, along with the results being based off of a chemical reaction, and not on measurement devices, which can require calibration and are much more expensive per test.

Tl,dr: at home stick tests are the same as the first test in a drug screening. Very from the comfort of your own home.

I think that's an even better 'bad marketing' example than mine. Product developers seriously need to think "how could this be abused" before deciding to create a product.

Case in Point: In my early 20s I purchased a breathalyzer like this that i kept in my car. It was a final protective measure of "am I safe to drive home?" before I decide to put keys into ignition.

Several times when i brought it to a house party to make sure people would make good decisions, it turned into a "who can get the high score" competition that caused MORE drinking to be done.

But, two times I got pulled over leaving bars. Both times the police asked if I had been drinking, I answered honestly that I had had two or three drinks in a 3 hour period, but waited an hour to walk to the car, and then checked my BAC with the device and blew a .05 or lower, which gave me a confidence buffer since I didn't know how accurate the device was. The first time, the cop was amazed and wanted to see the device as he had never heard of them available commercially like that. The second time the cop said 'have a good night and drive safely.'

Did it honestly prevent me from getting a drunk driving citation? probably not. I was most likely completely legal, but it got the police to lose interest rather quickly and go searching for easier targets stumbling out of the bar.

But it was fun at parties.

Like others have said you can get drug tests for relatively cheap. Amazon has them, I've bought the THC ones before but I'm sure you can get ones to test other drugs.

Edit Edit: It is also important to know that water soluble drugs like opiates leave the system in a few days whereas fat soluble drugs like marijuana can stay in the system >30 days. In case you ever test positive for something look up its solubility.

Usually these rapists use Rohypnol or GHB. The tests for these are obscure and I've never heard of it in a employment/student screen. I've never even heard of an ER testing for them and I've seen suspected cases before. OH how I wish the average ER could test for them. Generally only very specialized labs can test for it. That said rohypnol doesn't usually show up because such small doses are used and it dissipates so quickly. GHB is not usually detectable after 12hrs.


It may go without saying but never let someone buy you a drink you don't see made from a community bottle by the bartender and watch them prepare it. Don't let the buyer handle it, it takes minimal slight of hand to spike. I don't part with a cup in public except to leave it with a trusted friend. Otherwise a cup I leave alone is a cup I'm done with, full or not. I'd buy a new drink after every sip before I risk a drink being tampered with.

Please go report this to the bar manager and file a police report. Give both of them a description. Bartenders are usually told to keep a lookout and the police will keep a record of the incident which could help future cases.

For peace of mind if i've had a drink I'll use alcohol test strips like these. They aren't exactly cheap but worth it for peace of mind! They even go so far as to tell you alcohol percentage (although I can't vouch for accuracy here). I also agree with what someone said about diluting it with "clean" milk to reduce alcohol content even further. Don't beat yourself up or stress, you're doing great! :)

There are dedicated websites, or you can hop onto eBay/Amazon and purchase full test kits with Marquis, Mandelin, Mecke and Simon's (at a minimum, some offer more). They cost about $50 but it's worth it considering single-use test kits are $20 each and only cover one reagent. These last a long while, and you can test for a whole lot of other substances too!

"Assume the worst" means assume that you have THC showing up in your system and that is the problem you need to work.

I will add that if you are really worried about it they sell those t cup 12 panel tests on Amazon for cheap. By a couple and test yourself for peace of mind.

I would say anything under $75 I wouldn't even bother with. I got a cheap one for around $60, and it works somewhat...but really if you're going to spend the money go ahead and get something decent. A couple of my friends have breathalyzers have the ones below:

Both of them seem to work well. Always keep in mind that if you test right after you have a drink, you're not going to get an accurate reading, and really you still have to use common sense. Although the legal limit is .08 here, I'd say you're really risking it if you drive on .05 or higher. I don't normally bring mine out with me because I don't drink enough to ever have to worry in the first place, but it's still a neat little toy.

Edit: by the way the more you use them, the less accurate they get over time, and you'll eventually have to have it recalibrated. I think the first one I linked to says you can use it about 1,000 times before it needs recalibration.

When I'm feeling down, I always look at pictures of other countries. I imagine what it would be like if I was in that picture at that moment. It's cheesy, but it works. If you order it and don't have to use it, it lasts 2 years even heated multiple times. I and 4 other people I know have used this multiple times successfully.

If possible locate a home test and test yourself to be sure. You can find them at smoke shops of pharmacies. Its never a bad idea to have some laying around, you can get them cheap on amazon. I say you will be fine though.

Also, the alcohol is in your bloodstream and so you CAN NOT pump and dump to get rid of alcohol in your milk. You will continue to have alcohol present in your milk as long as it is present in your blood. Once the alcohol has metabolized out of your blood it is out of your milk. Beer though is said to help stimulate mill production because of the hops :)

If you do go the substitution route but want to avoid using someone elses, I used testclear.com, I bought 2 kits because depending on how much you need to fill for the test, you may need more than 1 kit. It comes with some 1-use toe warmers, i picked up a few packs from walmart to test with. It has a temp strip and stuff that you attach to the plastic vial. Can test heating the vial up, make sure the temp stays within the right range over 30 minutes, etc. Worked great, passed no issues. Was a very nervous 48 hours though

If she/you can afford to get it, tell her you'll give her a ride home IF she will allow one of these to be installed on her car. Because you won't go through this again.

From what I've heard it takes anywhere from a month to a few for the thc to get out of your fat. I think you fucked it by partaking in a sesh though. Here's a drug test that I found on Amazon that is said to have 99 % accuracy. Hope it goes well for you man!
