Everyone else covered all the other stuff well except a bed. the fuck is wrong with ya'll?

a futon? a futon mattress? air mattress??? fuck that shit

A good nights sleep is as important as eating, you don't need to spend all your money on it either.

Bed, blanket, sheets, and pillows: ~$350

metal bed frame: http://amzn.com/B006MIUM20 or http://www.walmart.com/ip/Spa-Sensations-Steel-Smart-Base-Bed-Frame-Black-Multiple-Sizes/15739163

mattress: http://amzn.com/B005A4OP8Y or http://www.walmart.com/ip/Slumber-1-8-Mattress-In-a-Box-Multiple-Sizes/14225185?

note: I've had this set for a year, great buy. fuck futons.

another note: if tying to decide between a twin, full, or queen size mattress. get a queen. even if you have a tiny room you'll have a big bed. never get a king (or cal king) size mattress unless you have a permanent home, those things are a hassle to move and/or get rid of.

'nother note2: buy the sheets the same size as the bed, but buy the blanket/comforter the next size up it'll make all the difference on an extra cold night or when someone else is in bed with you.

'nother note3: don't get a used bed. you only need to encounter bedbugs once for you to consider setting your entire apartment on fire. even if that doesn't deter you just imagine sleeping on a pile of someone else's shedded skin and dried sweat.

I got this off a neighborhood resale/posting website. He posted it 40 mins prior to me messaging him and I got it first. He told me when we picked it up that 6 people had messaged him about it after I had. :) I'll be using it to store my paints since I don't drink. Pic of the art on the inside. I found it on Amazon and it's worth $149.99.

u/bsod666rrod · 20 pointsr/buildapc

Totally convenient. Jokes aside, if you are interested in building your own (in relevancy to the DIY factor to this particular sub-reddit), may I point you towards /r/DIY? Also, depending on the materials you want, here is a Glass & Steel L-shaped Desk, and another if you are more into the Traditional look.

If you do look into building your own however, look into some really cool materials such as

  • Bamboo
  • Apple Wood
  • Cherry Wood
  • Re-used wooden pallet?
  • Aluminum?

Mess around with different stains/paints! And best of luck!

My $250 memory foam bed delivered for free with Amazon prime is the best and most comfortable mattress I've ever slept on. Signature Sleep 12 Inch Memory Foam Mattress, Queen https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005A4OO80/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_ohFTzb1HA2JZJ

(THREE people I've dated have ended up buying it too, haha)

u/earfullofcorn · 17 pointsr/Frugal

Amazon sells these mattresses that are similar to ones sold at Ikea that get shipped to you in a duffel bag and they unfold.

Here's a twin for $160. It's the #2 best selling mattress on Amazon. Here's the best selling mattress list if you're interested.

Another suggestion is to go to Target and get the Target brand air mattress. When I first moved to an apartment, all I slept on was my air mattress because I couldn't afford a bed. I've had it for 3 years with no problem. Here's the one I have. It's $46 plus you'll need a pump ($15). There are cheaper ones if you want a smaller one.

Also, I'd second someone's suggestion of buying a futon. It can function as your couch and bed. Good luck!

u/snmnky9490 · 14 pointsr/trashy

Queen size Memory Foam 12-inch thick for $250 including free shipping.

Best mattress I've ever slept on.

Mattress stores are extremely expensive and will mark up the same or equivalent mattresses by 2-5 times the price just because they know people assume they cost a month's pay.

u/AdorableMonk · 14 pointsr/LifeProTips

I dunno about OP, but this is the one that I bought on Amazon.

I got this in early 2017 and I love it. It's got a 10 year limited warranty against manufacturer defects, and a 100 day trial period in which you can send it back for any reason.

I ended up buying the same mattress in a twin size for my toddler because of how much I like mine.

115 BUCKS TOTALLY WELL SPENT!

I have the full version and it is the best. I have been floor sleeping on it for 3 months and the usual back pain I deal with no longer exists. YMMV. It folds up so easy every morning and my 15 mo old sits on it to watch movies.

u/RouletteZoku · 10 pointsr/buildapcsales

I have a different brand chair (but my guess is they're all made in the same factory). Not a bad price considering free shipping.

This is the specific chair I have.

Here's another example of a clearly similar chair.

It was easy to assemble, is relatively comfortable, tilts/swivels and has adjustable height.

I'm not sure if this specific model can lean back, if it can't then I would say pass, and grab one of the other two chairs I listed since the price is similar, and the definitely can lean back.

u/nsivkov · 9 pointsr/battlestations

This chair is anything but ... it's the best damn chair ever. the arm pads are leather + memory foam and are up & down + 3 position left/right adjustable and are actually comfortable to place your hands on. the back & bottom mesh are awesome you can sit on it for 10 hours (like me) and you don't get swamp but from it. The build quality is simply amazing and it has the option for back support (which i have since my back hurts) it's the best damn investment i've made so far.

I have this desk which has worked pretty well for me for the better part of the last three or four years. I have three monitors and a set of speakers on mine, so it should be able to fit two monitors pretty easily with room for your other stuff.

u/bobbybick · 7 pointsr/videos

Got a "burrito bed" from Amazon in 2016 for $230 + $80 for a metal frame to put it on. This was after I tried going to brick and mortar stores and saw that they wanted $700-1000 for just a mattress and the frame would be like another $200 minimum.

It's probably the best sleep I've ever gotten and plan to buy one again in the future. It was made better in that the salespeople at brick and mortar acted like I was a crazy idiot for buying a mattress online and that they "hoped I like bedbugs".

u/deathbaloney · 7 pointsr/AnimeFigures

I'm definitely not in the "Detolfs are the only cabinets worth owning" camp--I also have an IKEA Malsjo and I recently got a double cabinet from Coaster Company that I like very much--but my Detolf has followed me to three different apartments (over the course of 5 years) and it's certainly been dependable. No stability issues, no structural concerns.

I'd probably avoid puck lights--they can create a spotlight effect that casts unappealing shadows on your figures. I use the Dioder lights from IKEA and they're fine. You could probably do better for cheaper if you were willing to get one of those spools of LEDs and a soldering tool, but the Dioders are definitely hassle-free.

Also, here are two options for dustproofing your case--both seem to work so it's really a matter of which you prefer the look of.

u/onebat4u · 7 pointsr/ActionFigures

This is what I have, they were cheaper when I got them and this is a smaller one but my favorite one was the last one I got it is from IKEA this one keeps the dust out the best.

u/Khaaklol · 7 pointsr/AnimeFigures

u/poncho_dave · 5 pointsr/DesignMyRoom

Honestly, a full size bed would be perfectly adequate for two, if a bit cozy. It would also buy you a little extra room when every inch counts. I'd recommend a frame like this one that would allow storage underneath. It squeaks a bit and it's definitely barebones, but it's affordable and can fold up easy for moving. I own one in a queen size and have a very small room as well.

As for the rest of the room, get a tape measure and a notepad and measure the footprints of everything in the room so you can draw a plan view of the room and play around with configurations. If casual seating is a must, I would get rid of the couch and instead get a nicer futon frame in full size that can perform double-duty.

WIth a space this size, it's all about finding multi-functional pieces and things that can be broken down quickly and tucked out of the way.

Like I said, you can use a stand to solve this. This one for example.

u/bozoconnors · 4 pointsr/hometheater

Height looks perfect. Those toothpicks would make me nervous too though. As they're ridiculously popular with manufacturers at this point, already decided I'm gonna go with one of these stands upon next TV purchase (& assuming yours is a 65"). Kind of averse to mounting things on the wall myself. Probably able to raise just enough for speakers to go under. If ya don't like, meh, got a nice sturdy stand anyways.

u/Run-ning · 4 pointsr/hometheater

Something like this is probably the most common way to get that kind of additional height.

Depending on how much they're willing to spend, I'd highly recommend a Herman Miller Aeron with headrest. It's one of the best ergonomic chairs on the market that has a 'reasonable' price.

u/Norumu · 3 pointsr/buildapc

I splurged and got myself one of those stupid expensive Herman Miller Aeron chairs.

I do not regret it a bit. The mesh is wonderful in this warm environment I live in, it helps me keep extremely good posture (much better than my slinking I'd do before), is super adjustable for your needs, and still feels like new despite putting in hundreds of sitting hours.

u/robdizzle666 · 3 pointsr/battlestations

6' 5" here as well, I work in a used office furniture store. Herman Miller Aeron is one of the best chairs out there, they range around 400$ used. Personally I found this Boss chair to extremely comfortable, the headrest and added lumbar support are amazing. It's nowhere near the quality of Herman Miller though sadly.

Depending on your size, the Aeron chair comes in size B or C. I'm 300 Lbs so the size C suits me.

Yep, download the roadtrippers app... you can put in your destination and filter to specific things on your way. Camping/RV is one of them. Check out this mattress if you're considering this.

u/RareRibeye · 3 pointsr/teslamotors

To start things off from other threads/videos I’ve seen:

The trunk seems to fit a twin size mattress. One user recommended this. With a twin, two adults should comfortably fit. You could probably uncomfortably fit 3 people (spooning).

Camper Mode: AC drains less battery than heaters. Seat warmers also drain less battery than heaters. Overnight heating in freezing climate seems to drains ~3-4%/hr or ~2.4kw/hr according to this video, but YMMV.

Make sure to lock the vehicle via the Screen and turn off the alarm while you are sleeping in the car or your movement might cause it to beep throughout the night. Also turning off sentry mode is good if you want to conserve more battery as well. Got the above advice along with other helpful tips from this video.

there is only 12" between each shelf so if you have any figures taller they won't fit. that is the only real downside imo. I divided to go with this cause I liked it better than the deltof that people usually get.

u/johniib · 3 pointsr/malelivingspace

Between those two I'd get the mesh one. When I was younger I was all over the (p)leather chairs but I moved onto the mesh ones due to better ventilation for the back.

What about this one? It's under $100 and has a ton of good reviews:

u/Xerokine · 3 pointsr/buildapc

The older I get the less I see the need for super fancy expensive stuff it seems. Use to get fancy leathery chairs that were hundred of dollars and now I got a mesh chair that's fairly cheap and can say it's been the best chair I have ever got so far. I'm surprised the price has gone up about $25 since I got it two years ago though.

None of those specifically say latex, though I saw that the Leesa brand uses latex and people in the reviews are like "OMG ITS SO FREAKING HOT", so I dunno.

u/PartTimeVelociraptor · 3 pointsr/bloomington

Depends on your definitions of "cheap" and "decent". The price for a queen mattress can run anywhere from like $300 to $8000... so words like cheap/decent are going to be pretty relative. www.sleeplikethedead.com calls anything under $700 for a queen a low-price mattress. (Midrange is $700-1800.)

With that in mind and free delivery being important, you could consider one of the very highly rated foam mattresses from Amazon. Here's a link to Tuft & Needle's mattress -- but just scroll down to the "Compare to Similar Items Section" and you should see the specs and reviews for Sleep Innovations and Brentwood Home as well.

I'm no expert, but I feel like one of these 3 mattresses could be the most "decent" in the $500-600 range.

If you are looking cheaper (but not smaller--because of course a full/double would save you money over the queen size)... there should be options locally. We bought a spring mattress from Pate's Mattress Outlet (4500 Centennial Drive--Might be closed now?) about 6 years ago for about $350. (We did drive it home ourselves, though.)

It was good enough for us (an only moderately overweight couple), but after only about 4 years a couple springs had sprung and were poking through the top edges of the mattress--probably from us sitting on the edge of the bed.

u/Megacannon88 · 3 pointsr/malelivingspace

I bought a Tuft & Needle queen a couple months ago with a folding, metal bed frame. The mattress was only $600 and the frame about $100. It's easily the best best mattress I've ever slept on. No more sore upper back. The bed frame isn't particularly stylish though.

https://smile.amazon.com/Fitueyes-Universal-Tabletop-Component-TT107002GB/dp/B018I1XTFU/

A stand like this with a large enough base would allow you to raise the height of the TV enough to set the center channel on the base of the stand.

That's why I like to use a swiveling tabletop stand even for larger sets instead of relying on the TV legs, even when you do have a good flat wide surface already. Gives plenty of flexibility for sound bars and swiveling the picture directly towards you more for slightly varying seating positions.

What I have is one of those 4 -6 ft folding tables from costco set up in the playroom. If I need to move it, the table closes up and we can clear it out, the kids can move chairs around, and its washable (kids ya know).
You can add that folding puzzle holder on top, keep the puzzle safe and still have the table to work on. All movable and portable yet stationery and convenient.

this one is adjustable

Well while it's a bit of a pain to set up, and isn't the most stable thing in the world, something like this is fairly common. One of these days I'll have the time (and money) to finish my home desk, but right now all of my gear is on some of those. It's a bit short for me, but it's better than nothing, and still higher than most tables.

Edit: Here are a some other, and perhaps better solutions.

u/mclamb · 2 pointsr/buildapc

What about multiple of these Lifetime adjustable utility tables?

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003DYZQKY/

They're strong enough to support a triple monitor stand sitting right in the middle without even flexing.

I gave up on an adorable treadmill desk and ended up with a recumbent bike desk. I'm on my phone so forgive the mobile and ugly links. I have this bike http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004O6TXVS/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?qid=1417885066&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SY200_QL40 and this as a deskhttp://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003DYZQKY/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?qid=1417885245&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SY200_QL40

The table has a high height which is perfect for this bike. I love it. I work 40+ hours per week at it and have clocked nearly 450 miles on the bike. I love it. My legs are more toned and my back doesn't hurt. I broke my tail bone about 4 years ago and still had awful pain when sitting too long. But, shifting my weight to cycle allows me to sit comfortably. A few times I have gotten off of the bike and moved it back so I could stand for awhile. It's light weight and easy to move.

I'm moving and I'll need to get myself an office chair, too. I've made some research on this, and apparently good chairs cost closer to $1000 when new, but can frequently be purchased for $400 or less used. One specific model that's apparently among the best there is in that price range is Herman Miller's Aeron. Miller's Mirra would be a little less fancy, while still great for someone who's only used cheap chairs before, and with a less shocking price tag.

For people who can't afford that kind of monies, there is the already mentioned IKEA Markus. The cheaper price comes with drawbacks such as non-adjustable and shorter lasting arm rests. The expensive chairs have pretty much adjustable everything. I would be wary getting an used MARKUS, since I've heard of so many with worn out coating. Apparently it doesn't take many years until it starts to show visible wear and tear.

Around $200 seems to be the price point under which I won't be able to find the kind of chair I want new. Apparently that's the point under which the quality and life span of the product starts to go so low it won't be worth it. I'll be sitting on that chair for a large portions of my time, it's not worth a couple hundreds to spend so much of my life uncomfortably and possibly in an unhealthy position.

When looking at the prices, it's good to keep in mind that especially the more expensive chairs are often perfectly good when bought used, but come usually considerably cheaper. The lower quality cheap chairs usually have a shorter life span, so getting them used might just mean you'll need to get another soon when it breaks down.

Also, as a random thing my research has unveiled so far, a head rest might not be a desirable thing to have in a chair, as apparently it's healthier to sit without one.

Cheap = free futon on Craigslist. Just take the mattress.

For a new, cheap, actual bed - Amazon

Foam you will just sink through to the wood. Futon mattresses are better but they are a bit tough. For a proper nights sleep get a coil mattress.

Inflatables are great for 1 or 2 nights. Very comfortable. Get the ones that are twice as high for maximum comfort.

I've had this mattress for 4 months now. I love it. Technically, it's a futon mattress, but it's still got individually wrapped springs and it's really thick. I think it's only classified as one because it lacks the wire frame. Also, when it's delivered it comes in a vacuum sealed back, all wrapped up and stuffed into a duffel bag

I highly, highly recommend this mattress foundation. I move pretty frequently and have zero storage space and this is a great solution for both of those problems.

I used to have a really heavy and large wooden futon frame, which was pretty squeaky and unnecessarily difficult to set up but I ended up buying this model off Craigslist and I'm never going back. It's pretty easy to set up, very sturdy, and it makes no noise. And the best part is that the frame itself is pretty light and compact once you break it down so it makes moving it from place to place way easier.

I'm 6'1" and 365lbs. I've had this chair for 2 years. No breaking down of padding, no snapping parts, no nothing. It's great. I paid $120 for it and I love it. I know you said you'd need a high backed chair, but you really don't. If you absolutely do, I think they have one somewhere.

u/RocketHops · 2 pointsr/OverwatchUniversity

Can't really speak to low priced chairs but something like this would probably be best.

Note that the armrests fold back instead of adjusting down, meaning you won't have to worry about them bumping into the bottom of your desk. I've also found mesh office chairs tend to have better back support than cushioned ones, unless you're getting one with an adjustable back support cushion, like you see on all the DxRacer gaming chairs.

u/Sharohachi · 2 pointsr/hometheater

The height all looks fine but I wouldn't set the TV on top of the center channel (if that is indeed what's going on here). For one it looks terribly unstable and I wouldn't want it to come crashing down. Also the CS9060 has a powered woofer that fires upward so you are blocking that with the TV sitting on it.

I guess that's a window behind it so you can't wall mount it, but I'd consider some sort of stand like this so that your TV isn't on top of the center, or you could get a whole new center console with a mount built in like this. You can still keep the center channel raised up but it won't be so precarious and the CS9060 woofer will be free to do its thing.

This chair seems pretty good for $65

I’d say you generally want to go for something that goes the length of your back and supports your neck. Also, some decent cushioning, no one wants to sit on a wooden plank.

Lastly and this may depend on your preference, arm rests. Ones that connect to the bottom and back of the chair so they don’t wiggle around, some people may not want arm rests so they can push their chair in under their desk, but I find them nice when leaning back and watching movies on my computer.

I can't really help with the mattress, but i have this desk in my tiny bedroom. I use the short section for my computer, and the long section has a 32" tv on it, and all my makeup and junk on the corner section.

I put it together by myself. It came with an Allen wrench, but I used an electric screwdriver with the attachment and it made things go a lot faster. It was super easy, but the glass pieces were surprisingly heavy. It took me maybe an hour, including unpacking all the pieces.

I think they make this desk in different finishes and surfaces too if you're not keen on the glass. But it looks classy as fuck, is super sturdy, and I would highly recommend it.

EDIT: the box it came in was maybe a bit larger than a crib mattress

I generally like it; it's solid, wasn't too tricky to assemble, and fits well in a corner. My only gripe is that I am not able to install a triple-monitor mount that grips the desk, but honestly that's an issue with glass-topped desks in general, not just this model. All in all, I am pretty happy with this desk.

EDIT: Well shit. The silver one jumped up in price.

u/nolifegam3r · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

I've had this for around 3 years, nice sturdy glass, very good looking. It has enough space for my lg34um95 and a 24" monitor with thick bezels while still having the side free to do whatever over there.

Pros

  • sturdy

  • L-shaped

  • cheap

    Cons

  • a little on the low side for a tall person

  • not much space in the keyboard drawer for your hands

I bought a set of china for like $40 from a thrift store several years before I got married. It's really pretty and I use it when we have 'fancy' dinners (we sometimes do xmas or easter or something at my house with a bunch of family - I bought a set of 'complimentary' (plain white) dishes and alternate if we have too many people). And we have our normal plates and bowls and stuff that came from Target or wherever when we moved in together that we use daily. We didn't register for any dinnerware. Instead we registered for this: http://www.amazon.com/Design-Toscano-Sixteenth-Century-Italian-Replica/dp/B001MA1W8G

Can I use this mount with this type of table?

u/kunho · 1 pointr/DJs

Here you go ... LINK

u/annalatrina · 1 pointr/parentsofmultiples

We bought a small adjustable table one thanksgiving and that thing turned out to be a workhorse. I pull it out to the living room and pop it up to countertop height to fold laundry while watching some indulgent show. The kids can’t reach my piles up there. It also works for a kid table at the lowest height. One winter in desperation I put it half up like a ramp and let the twins roll balls, blocks, stuffed animals and whatever else down it. Eventually they started going down it like a slide. That table is still one of the most used things in our house. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003DYZQKY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_3im9BbKT7BEF9

So far y'all, great responses and feedback!! Thank you! A few statements and then some questions...

Here's what I have purchased or am using so far:

  1. On the lines of rackmount equipment (power conditioner, wireless mics, possible locking drawer)... how do y'all organize these items? I was looking at like a 4U or 6U amp rack, and perhaps putting the mixer on top or inside it, but do y'all have different solutions? Hide everything under the tablecloth?

  2. I have a crewcab truck with a 5'8" bed, so 4' tables seemed ideal, but if I'll have a controller case and a possible rackmount case on the 4' table, that leaves me very little other room. I was thinking about the 4' Adjustable kind because I'm 6'3" and don't necessarily want to be hunched over for hours on end. A fold-in-half 6' table isn't ideal in my mind for strength, but I could be wrong. What do y'all do for table length/width?

    Thanks again y'all!!!
u/waltonw · 1 pointr/mobileDJ

The one that looks the most similar to mine (mine appears to be an off brand version) is this one.
I have had no issues with the height. I am 5'8" and when the table is extended fully my arms are a little less than 90 degrees.

As far as stability, I have had a few scares with people knocking into the table. (Hired for a college house party, far too many people for me to feel comfortable) I ended up running a 4 beads of gaffer tape over the legs at the next similar event and had no further issues with stability. In all of my other more tame settings, I haven't felt the need to tape down the legs of the table.

Wherever this is, they have more money in spare chairs than I do in my bank account. I'd recognize a Herman Miller Aeron anywhere.

PS: Anyone know where I can buy one used, because I ain't got $1000.

u/TurtleInTraining · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

What's your budget?

The best chair I've sat on was the Aeron chair by Herman Miller. These were a chair provided to me by my employer in the office. This is an ergonomic chair that focuses on back health and has a mesh construction to avoid sticking and allows for better breathing. This is around $1,000, unfortunately.

I own a Aeron alternative that I'm sitting on that is a pretty good alternative. It's closer to $400, but it's an office max exclusive chair called the WorkPro Quantum. Has most of the ergonomic features the Aeron does.

Thank you. You are kind! I will be happy to share with you some of the philosophers I have enjoyed. What I have enjoyed even more is listening to smart people critique these philosophers. They have a way of breaking down the difficult concepts in understandable ways. Go on YouTube and listen to a guy named Rick Roderick. He has 3 lecture series which introduce you to many of the most famous philosophers. I especially enjoy his critique of Nietzsche, Freud, Kierkegaard, Sartre, Habermas, and Hegel. There is a podcast called the Partially Examined Life which is full of really, really great philosophical discussions. One of my favorites is their critique of the movie "No Country For Old Men".

The bed I bought is off of Amazon, strangely, and it is awesome! I cannot recommend it will be as comfortable to you as it is to me. I am a very large framed dude and this one worked wonders for me.

It is available in many sizes, and very, very affordable. Again, I cannot promise you a good night sleep on it, but it is perfect for me.

Finally, for the science fiction reading I would suggest starting with the best SciFi book ever in my opinion: Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. It is just too good to put into words.

So, bed frames meant to attach a headboard, have 2 flat brackets to attach a headboard. Since you have baseboard heat, you want any flammable materials 8 inches away from the heating unit. This also allows proper airflow so it can actually heat the room.

You can get a frame and headboard separately. You just need a frame with the bracket to mount a headboard. Zinus Compack 9-Leg Support Bed Frame, for Box Spring & Mattress Set, Full https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EYN1NT6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_D5i8Ab1TDEM7F

I've done something similar with this (twin folding mattress): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DJ8HWBU/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
What I suggest is getting a more narrow mattress, so you can keep more of your things in the same place (instead of on top of the mattress). You could also get by with only moving one of the seats forward (with something narrow). This particular one is a bit long, but you can jam it in there. You'll definitely want to look at blacking out the windows as well (maybe use black posterboard.

It can get a bit annoying moving everything around daily converting from camper to car, so smaller stuff is probably better.

I can't give this BenQ monitor a higher recommendation. It's what most pros use and is fantastic for Overwatch. Essentially you want something 24", 144hz, 1ms response time.

For mouse pads, you want a large one. I use the Logitech G640, which would work well with your mouse because in the software for it, you can tune it to other Logitech mousepads, but any large mousepad like from Zowie or SteelSeries is good.

For a desk, you just want to make sure you have enough room for your large mousepad. I have this cheap Ikea desk and it works perfectly for me.

Would you be referring to this 5 shelf one? I don't but according to others who have bought it the smallest distance between any of the shelves is 14.75 inches and the largest gap is 16 inches so it would depend on how large your figure is. The shelves themselves are apparently 10x22 inches. If you're worried about weight I don't think that should be a problem. The shelves are listed as having a weight limit of 28 pounds per shelf.

And when it comes to buying anything from Amazon I will always tell people to MAKE SURE whatever you are buying is shipping from Amazon's warehouse. Just because it has prime shipping doesn't necessarily mean it is coming direct from Amazon. If it's not coming direct from Amazon and you require a return they will very likely tell you to deal with whoever the seller is before coming to them, and I guarantee you both will try to give you a runaround so they don't have to deal with it. If you get it direct from Amazon and are a prime member returns should be much easier to deal with or they may just even send you a new one free of charge. Although luckily I've never had any trouble with them. I've gotten 4 of the 4 shelved curios and all have arrived in good shape. As with anything being shipped great distances though there is always the possibility of shipping damage.

u/smile_e_face · 1 pointr/buildapc

This one is definitely out of your price range, but I have seen it go for $150 on sale. It's stupidly comfortable, breathable (no back sweat), and supportive without being too hardcore. It's a great chair for us big and tall folks, because the mesh back goes up all the way to provide support to your spine and your head. The only reasons I replaced it with my DXRacer are that it (a) doesn't have adjustable arms and (b) needs just a little more lumbar support. But if you aren't three inches from your monitor like I am (bad eyes) that latter probably won't be a problem, and the arms only needed to be wider, not higher, to suit my shoulders. I used it for over three years, and it still worked as well as the first day without any maintenance, other than the occasional WD-40. Now that it belongs to my dad, he won't trade it for anything.

I've also heard good things about this chair from a friend, but I haven't tried it myself. It seems to suit his scrawny self perfectly, though.

And while I understand that budgets are a reality we all have to deal with, I'd recommend splurging a little on a quality desk chair. Your back and shoulders will thank you in the long run, particularly as you get older. I'm only 26, and I've already noticed a definite change in how much bad posture my body is willing to put up with.

I am in the same situation, I plan on buying this chair. The arms swivel up out of the way, and the price has dropped a bit since I have been looking.

His wife suggested an office chair. I ordered this one -https://www.amazon.com/Flash-Furniture-Mid-Back-Swivel-Flip-Up/dp/B00KUPS3JU/ref=sr_1_8?rps=1&ie=UTF8&qid=1525636778&sr=8-8&keywords=office+chair&refinements=p_85%3A2470955011 - but the link diddn't finish. Do you think it's good, or do you have any suggestions on another?

u/ductyl · 1 pointr/PSVR

I ordered this one from Amazon for my VR chair, primarily for the flip up arms (so it could be used in "cockpit" games, as well as "flail your arms around" games). I'm really pretty happy with it for this purpose.

I chose to leave the wheels off when assembling it, so that it will "stay put" in the prime VR camera zone, but still allow rotation.

You can get pretty good foam mattresses for ~$500 on amazon, i got this guy https://www.amazon.com/Tuft-Needle-Supportive-Certi-PUR-Certified/dp/B00QBZ265U really dig it, thick too

u/need_tts · 1 pointr/personalfinance

Mattress prices are insane. Luckily, there are lots of new companies that cut out all the middle men and ship directly to your door. You can get a high quality memory foam mattress for 600 brand new: http://www.amazon.com/Tuft-Needle-TN23Q-Mattress-Queen/dp/B00QBZ265U

u/minus0 · 1 pointr/amazon

I got Tuft & Needle. No problems with heat or sex. I had a small issue (my fault) where I nicked the outside cover while unpacking it. I made a suggestion to them in their survey and they refunded me an unsolicited $100. Great service.

The bed starts off a bit firm but settles. Not in the way a bed says with springs, just got more comfortable. A year later and I still love it. No issues at all. Get a good waterproof cover (that doesn't make noise) for any new mattress, especially foam. You don't want any spills (or other fluids) soaking into foam.

You can get overnight delivery on a Tuft & Needle mattress from Amazon, we're happy with ours.

since the TV would not fit on my 32 inches dresser.. while the feet on Sony is 46 I don’t mind it being a bit high since I’d be laying down 90% off the tome while watching..

I’m sorry about yours having dse/banding its preftt common on a TCL.. Panel lottery is not on your odds aswell as the hassle and anticipation waiting for your tv is rough..

u/anapoe · 1 pointr/Televisions

I'll probably pick up the PQ65-F, looks like it's $1200 right now at Costco. I also grabbed a VESA base (link) since the Vizio's legs are wider than my cabinet.

One more question, though - the PQ65-F specs say it supports HDMI v2.0 but this article says HDMI v2.0 only supports 4k @ 60 Hz. So I guess you'd run most content @ 4k 60 Hz, then drop down to 1080p 120 Hz for games?

Sure, it's this one on Amazon. Hopefully it's what you're looking for!

im pretty sure this is the exact same thing i bought on amazon.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019R40ZHW/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

ive had it for almost a year now. the only qualms i have with it basically issues to user error when i put it together. its a solid AF desk. and because of the way its constructed if you have to move it breaks down into 2 smaller desk by removing four bolts. so its good if you are in college and will be moving once you graduate.

The wood is really nice. im sure its MDF but its solid as fuck. no water stains and no swelling since the paint job was solid. i have a triple monitor mount on the back and have ample room for a full keyboard with wrist guard. and i decided to protect the desk and my wrist further with a XXL mouse pad. 12/10 would buy again. not sure why i would have to since its the best.

Edit: 2 things i remembered. 1 the pc carrier for on the floor is a nice touch. its a 15-20 dollar value for similar things on amazon. and the 2nd point is if you plan on storing you computer in the corner under the desk dont put that corner of the desk in the corner of room. there isnt enough room in the joint to pass some larger computer cases through it, like mine for example. otherwise everytime you need to pull out your tower you have to move the desk.

It's actually this desk without all of the "gamer" stuff attached to it aside from the headphone and cup holder to keep those liquids off my desk top.

I needed something deep I could rest my arms on, my old IKEA desk was way too shallow. I love this thing. I know it's not sexy like the countertop/ALEX drawer setups but it does the job for now.

Looking to get a new desk to start my battlestation off. Tbh I am mostly a console gamer but would like to hook up my Xbox/PS4 up to a computer monitor. I am also considering getting into PC gaming once I can save up some money for it. I have two desks that I like a lot but my two concerns are having enough space for my consoles, but also having the potential for dual monitors in the future. https://www.amazon.com/Techni-Sport-Carbon-Gaming-Desk/dp/B0741GC94T/ref=asc_df_B0741GC94T/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312154169448&hvpos=1o2&hvnetw=g&hvrand=15577776505349995532&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1014895&hvtargid=pla-571917762457&psc=1

I looked at Herman Miller, their chairs look very nice. But the fact is I would not spend 600 dollars on a chair. Sorry, thats just my opinion. I understand why good chairs are helpful, but at the end of the day I don't think its worth it. I would not spend more that 150 dolalrs on a chair, unless it was really revolutionary. Not to say I don't care about my health, I would spend 600 dollars or more on a standing desk.

I'm not trying to sound pompous while saying this, I am really curious. What makes this chair:

https://www.amazon.com/Herman-Miller-Embody-Chair-Graphite/dp/B01DGM7ZII/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1537062133&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=herman+miller&psc=1

worth so much more than this one:

https://www.amazon.com/Furmax-Ergonomic-Adjustable-Executive-Computer/dp/B01LXXM5EK/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1537062103&sr=8-10&keywords=chair

Edit: Thanks for responding in a conversational manner.

Edit: In my opinion, there are plenty of great options for 100 dollars or less. I can link a few. I might be wrong, I'm not a chair expert, but they look fine to me.

This is what I was thinking. I'm 6'1 or so, I think it would work but I don't know for sure. If I may, what would the negatives be to me having a desk where it would be too high for my legs?

You don't need more than a 750 Ti to play PC games at more than 30 FPS and you don't need more than 4GB of ram to install Steam.
But you pay more because you want nicer stuff.
This is probably the worst sub Reddit to be on if you think that nice things aren't worth the money. And the DX Racer isn't even that expensive. My boss has an Aeron. And a lot of people have that chair.
So really, the DX Racer is actually a bargain if you're someone who actually spends money on the thing they sit on for a percentage of your LIFE during a given year.

I recommend not even going to any of those places. I bought a queen-sized memory foam mattress on Amazon a year or two ago for about $300 shipped. Here's a link to the best reviewed mattress on Amazon. You can narrow it down from there.
