You need an enzymatic cleaner. I had a mildew problem or something going on with some cedar boards in my basement. Didn't smell like cedar, and it smelled musty. I used Bac-A-Zap with excellent results. Isn't super toxic spraying it on (wear a mask, but the smell is sort of pine-y). Takes one or two applications, and the smell should go away over the course of a week. I noticed improvement right away.

I get a foam spray like this at the dollar store. Use it after vacuuming. If baking soda is really necessary I guess I would use a shop vac. Still have to clean the filters though.

Sprinkle this on everything, let it sit for half an hour, and vacuum it. If it can get rid of a combination of gross pet smells, it can get rid of your spice scent!

My husband is allergic (to EVVVVEERRRRRRYTHIIIINGGG) and I clean every other day. The bedroom is off limits to animals. I will shower before going to bed, as will he. Bedsheets and washed and change twice a week. INVEST IN AIR PURIFIERS! I have a large one for the living room, and two others for our bedroom and the animal room. Additionally I also use the linked products a lot. I use the carpet stuff every other time I vacuum, the pet stuff every other day, and the febreeze pretty much every day. Good luck hope this helps! It helped my bubble boy.

I use a different version of the allerpet because I don't have cats but it works well.

My cat and dog shed a lot, so we run the Roomba whenever we take the dog out of the house. We got an older model that was refurbished so it was cheaper but it still is a big help! Without it I think we would literally have tumbleweeds.

I also sweep just about every other day and vacuum about every 4 days, using this every time I vacuum. I also vacuum the couch sometimes and use that stuff on the couch too.

I also have covers for our couch that I rotate and wash. My dog sleeps on a bed like this that is easy to hose off, and I just have a few comforters and blankets I use on top of the bed to make it comfier that I rotate and wash every week.

Perhaps it still smells and I just can no longer tell, but I honestly do think it all keeps my house smelling pretty fresh.

Something like this is really nice if you have carpet. There are a bunch of different scents and they last for a while. Just spread some before you vacuum and let it sit for a few moments.

Try using enzymes to break down the odor causing compounds:

For illustration only. There are many manufacturers to choose from.

It will smell, but I've found that if you can fog this stuff into the area where the dead body is (or bodies are), it will speed up the decomposition.

This stuff in all the drains every night. It really works.
