Amazon has got it for a little bit less.
UTG Recon Flex, attaches on the 3+9 positions of a MLok rail.. Makes it perfect for this gun because it removes the bulk of a standard bipod. Here's a link ...

Honestly, dude. Why would you buy the Cadillac of .308 semi-auto rifles, and then bolt as much cheap plastic bullshit to it as your rail space will allow? That gun is eight pounds empty, and you got another six bolted to it.
That gun is straightup /r/gats material. It's like you got all your ideas from the /r/Shitty_Car_Mods of the firearms world. The thought process behind assembling that monstrosity is absolutely mind-boggling:
Fuck! I spent all my money on this sweet-ass rifle. But how do I take advantage of the longer range of the 7.62 NATO round without a scope? Better grab a Tasco.
Shit! Now I can't use the factory flip-up sights. Better throw some offset irons on there, too.
But what if someone breaks in in the middle of the night and I have to use my .308 as a home defense gun while I clear rooms? Inforce to the rescue.
What if that intruder sees the magnificence of my bad-ass rifle and decides to flee and regroup with his accomplices six blocks over? Better throw a bipod on there so I can prone out and snipe them.
Christ, this thing is heavy! How in the hell am I supposed to hang onto this fucking thing? Better get a VFG.
Seriously, OP. You ought to be ashamed. The fuck are you, GI Joe or some shit?
Not sure if it's the best price around but here's some stuff I've found:
Hoppes #9
SWFA scope, full price though
100 round ammo boxes
shooting steel
tripod target
Harris Bipod
bore snakes
and knives of course
Are you sure you want a hard plastic case?
Like, are you really sure? Because there are a lot of really good soft cases that do the same job as long as you aren't going to be taking it onto an airplane.
Like this one
If you want a really tough case - Pelican 1750.
A lesser case - Pelican iM3300.

One wont fall apart on you or bend when you put pressure against it. My go to for a inexpensive bipod is the Harris 6to9 bipod.
Pretty happy with how it's all working. The BAR-10 is working pretty well for how little I've spent on it (About $250 before attachments) and has pretty perfect airseal.
Fyi, this exists https://www.amazon.com/UTG-Recon-M-LOK-Bipod-Matte/dp/B071RS3QJS
I bought the gun today for $209. I swapped the barrel band for this which allowed me to mount this bipod. I got this scope, but I only paid $30 for it. Does anything else need to be done, or what would all of you recommend? Trigger work or a barrel replacement? I like the stock as is.
I bought a CVLIFE 6-9 inch bipod on Amazon for $17. It works great for shooting at the range and seems well made. I've never had a Harris or any other expensive brand to compare it to though.

You'll want the RVG. You'll need a Keymod to Picattiny adapter.
Maybe get one made out of aluminum for more strength/rigidity. Then install keymod/rail adapter in location of your choosing, then install RVG on that. Or if you prefer to run the grip all the way forward, the RVG will mount directly to the small picatinny sections at the front of your rail.
Magpul does not make any direct Keymod attachments, as their modular rail design is the M-Lok.
BCM has some direct to Keymod attachments.
I got this one the only downside is since it side mounts it takes the spot for other furniture. But the price is great and I can lean into it without any issues.
Buy a keymod to picatinny rail section. Midwest Industries or BCM should have them since they pushed keymod forever. Lots of picatinny rail mount options for a bipod. Make sure you use blue loctite on any mount screws.
Edit: Amazon for $11 (BCM)
Lol, I failed to link it (tad tipsy) here it is. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01E4YVCOA?psc=1&ref=yo_pop_mb_pd_title
I have this bipod in Keymod and it's great. Feels sturdy and stays put even after a day of shooting. Smile links for those interested in the keymod version:
Keymod 8"-11.8" for $43 on Amazon
Keymod 5.8"-8" for $45 on Amazon
It looks like you have a rail section in the grip already. Remove the two screws in the side and slide that section out. Then you'll need to get a keymod rail section to attach to the handguard (or get the proper screws/nuts for the rail section you have). After the rail section is mounted to your handguard you'll be able to attach your grip to it.
EDIT: here is a link to the type of rail section you'll need.

First off, I guess I need a build list:
Aero Precision M4E1 .223 wylde 18in SS upper
Anderson lower
CMMG LPK
Bravo Company Trigger assembly
BCM Mod-4 Charging Handle
Harris S-BRM bipod

Second:
Im a battle rifle kind of guy. This is my first scoped rifle. It is 1/8 twist. Any recommendations on practice ammo as well as defensive ammo that will propel this rifle to its full potential of accuracy/range?
I'll start by saying I think that savage looks pretty awesome. However:
Despite a lot of hate on the AAC-SD I have one and I love it. Out of the box it shot sub-MOA with factory load XM118s and PPU 168s. The factory Xmark Pro gets unnecessary hate for no reason. It has amazing adjustment and feel out of the box compared to a lot of the hair triggers people try to put on their rifles. You really don't need another trigger but you can if you want to waste the money. Remington will do the recall on the rifle for free for the "totally fires itself if you run it down to the lowest setting and bump it like a dumbass" bullshit that is not even true of any R700 ever built, but you can send it in and they will do it for you. I sent both of mine in just because it made it easier to ship them to my new house when I moved. Their customer support is pretty awesome. As is Smith and Wesson's and Winchesters in my experience.
The rifle is stock for me at the moment and I am using a Caldwell bi-pod with a Bushnell elite scope. The scope isn't the end all be all but it is the best thing I've ever shot through as a civilian. I was in the same boat as you money wise. I do notice the complaint about the free float being negated with a bi-pod sometimes since the Hogue stock is basically rubber but if you fire each round with the exact same fundamentals down it will shoot sub-moa still. I'm using a 20MOA down scope mount from Nightforce and I love it. The rifle is a bit heavy and I do want to swap out the stock eventually for a M24 or M40 variant but it can easily be handled and used to shoot and move if you choose to practice like that. I've had it out to 500 yards so far and at that range it still shot a 16oz water bottle off the wall at our tactical range from our elevated tower. I'll see if I have any pictures of it somewhere and I'll post it, or just take it out later and take a picture of it.
I got the rifle itself from Buds Gun shop Police discount side of the house for $600 shipped to my FFL and most everything else from Amazon since there wasn't a good shop where I lived at the time.

Harris Engineering S-BRM Hinged Base 6 - 9-Inch BiPod https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000JJGXAI/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_CGU8tb1KK5XHB
Here's my Savage MK-II FV with my setup.
Rings are 1'' AccuShot from Amazon.
Scope is a Nikon Rimfire Prostaff 3X9X40 from Cabella's, I got it for $119 on sale.
Bipod is a UTG small adjustable from Amazon.
This rifle mainly is my target .22lr for punching paper, but I've taken it out small game hunting as well (without the bipod) and it's awesome in the field. Hell I have a target model 10/22 (wood lam stock) and I never even shoot that, I shoot this Savage way more.
I've been shooting pistols for a few years now and am just now getting the rifle bug. Over Christmas it just hit me... I don't have a 10/22! I wasn't having any of that; and wanting to have a little fun with it, I came up with this.
Here's what it is:
Ruger 10/22 "All Weather" Carbine
Archangel 556 Rifle Stock
UTG Tactical OP Bipod
AccuShot Scope Rings
BARSKA 3-9x32 Plinker-22 Riflescope
I got to sight it in this morning! Nice and accurate as you should expect from a 10/22. Ran subsonic ammo through it and it was nice a quite. I really like the Barska scope too... it did great on its lowest 3X setting. When I have more time I'll see how it does at long range.
Edit* Also Ruger BX-25 mag
That would be a Caldwell Dead Shot Field Pod, pretty versatile shooting stand.
I've seen good reviews for the UTG bipod. Nutnfancy did a review and had good things to say, and for $20 it looks like a good deal.
Rifle alone was 1149. Scope cost $629, hand guard was $249, Magpul sights were 30 and 50, the rail covers were like $9 and the Bipod was $44 and the Vortex Cantilever Ring Mount was $89

https://www.amazon.com/Primos-Monopod-Trigger-Stick-33-65-Inch/dp/B00BD58I4G (you may be able to find it a few bucks cheaper with some searching)
I have a Primos bipod and it is fantastic.
Yeah, pretty sure it's this one. it was super cheap and the spring rattle is pretty loud but for a cheapie bipod it fits my needs pretty well. Mine didn't come CVlife branded though.
If you're feeling a little more wealthy than the $16 bipod I really like my buddy's caldwell pivot. it sits a bit higher with the legs out and can pivot to adjust if your bench isnt even.
There are three main options for a bipod:
See what would be appropriate for the rifles you are looking at and go with that. It also does not hurt to get her input, going to the gun store with your significant other can be lots of fun!
I just linked to the first example of each with a decent picture, I dont have any specific recommendations.
I'm a fan of the bipod, personally. I currently have THIS CRAPTASTIC ONE on my target build. It was super cheap and is a temporary solution. It has a little QD bolt adapter and is reasonably stable for $20.
I plan to get a better one, but that's a few notches down the list for now. When I do get a better one it'll be a lot more stable and have a swivel mount. Probably something like this.
I don't use the legs all the time when I shoot. Sometimes I'll use sand bags or even my shooting bag. I like to keep it practical and stay in the habit of shooting under various conditions with different equipment.
Finally, bipods are super hand for generally handing and laying the rifle down.
http://www.amazon.com/Primos-Monopod-Trigger-Stick-33-65-Inch/dp/B00BD58I4G
Pretty sure the Primos Trigger Stick monopods and bipods automatically slide out when you release the trigger. They come with yokes to hold a gun but they unscrew to reveal a standard thread you can use with a camera.
My bipod is a Harris, I believe this one http://www.amazon.com/Harris-Engineering-1A2-BRM-Solid-Base/dp/B000JJL81M/ref=zg_tr_4200841_1
I don't think it has the swivel/tilting ability of some (used for when shooting from an uneven surface I guess) but since it was to be used benched at the range that didn't matter. Though again, I seldom use it lately since I'm liking the challenge of shooting unsupported from a standing position.
It is solid and has worked really well when I do use it, BUT it didn't really seem to like mounting on the original stock. I removed the sling loop from the front stud to put it on, but the stud was so narrow that the bipod couldn't really clamp securely to it. It had no problems mounting to the stud on the Boyd's stock, however. I don't think the problem is necessarily due to the bipod but the narrow stud on the CZ stock, so I suspect other bipods might have similar issues, though I didn't really look into it. You could probably find more advice on the rimfirecentral forums if you're serious about putting a bipod on it.

(Harris Engineering S-BRM Hinged Base 6-9-Inch BiPod)[https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000JJGXAI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_qsiiDbVTCD2KX]
Here it is.
I wouldn't buy it again. It's a pain to get on and off, but it is also cheap so it works.
This to complete the dirt cheap build. Harris if you want a quality one.
UTG legs are very nice for the price and really rigid. I prefer very rigid legs as I can load them with such little input from my shoulder. Difficult to get cant right if you're not on a level surface, but you can tighten them between stops with a little bit of effort. I wish they had sprung leg release. That would make setting up quicker.

What do you know/think about the $20 bipods on amazon like this and this? I bought the CVLife for a budget AR but I don't know enough about bipods to know if it would be a good choice for a long range gun
This one actually works pretty well.

Ebay special rubber rail covers! Bonus, they don't have logos or text, just flat, black, rubbery delight for my hands.
Ebay special flaming pig knock off krinkov style muzzle device! A must have for rifle caliber pistols, also unbranded for that clean look that doesn't break the bank.
UTG Bipod. Basically a Harris bipod but 1/3 of the price. As my brother would say, "this thing is titties".
UTG front and rear iron sights. These I'm actually a little guilty about trying but they're irons, they're cheap, and they're adjustable. They're not as good as my friend's Troys and they're not as light as my sets of Magpuls but god damn they just work and work well.
Lastly, my ultimate guilty pleasure "let's just see what happens" purchase. UTG 3-9x50mm scope for my bolt action 223. Holy hell, ~500 rounds through it, I don't adjust anything unless I change ammo and I'll be damned if it isn't as clear as my friend's nikon 3-9x40 but it damn sure is brighter.
You mean “CV Life” bipod. $19 (or less) on amazon. Great bipod but your price is WAY off.

Are there any cons of a bipod like this rather than one that is an attached unit?
If anyone has this they might be familiar with the legendary smell that comes with it. And never goes away.

It's an Atlas clone. It's been great for a weekend shooter like myself. I will say that the tension knob that controls the swivel is poorly designed. It's an easy fix though with a lock washer. Very solid budget bipod
I bought this one, and have also been super happy with it. QD makes it a snap to swap around between guns and it's built like a tank. Yeah, it's heavy, but IDGAF.

I'm seeing 94.20?
Isn't that a Harris? Am I missing something? I thought Harris Engineering bipods were regarded as excellent quality, considered "bulletproof", and cost around $90.
here it is. Used it today for the 1st time. No issues at all, worked fine. Hooked right up to the front sling post, very easy to attach and remove!
Made it very comfortable to shoot. Inch or 2 groupings at 25 yards with the stock iron crap sights.
Get a different bipod and mount if you want to lighten up the front, like this one. You will lighten up more than if you went with a shorter handguard. Course you could do both, but I would start with the bipod and mount first.
Something like this? Because I have two mounting points on the gun already so I mean I'm not sure if I should use something like this
Best I've used.

I have the same scope (BDC version) on my Mkii, and it does pretty well. So far the BDC marks have been pretty accurate with just about any ammunition I shoot through it.
I have a cheap shooters ridge brand bipod from Amazon that works really well for $30.
https://www.amazon.com/Rifle-Bipod-Tactical-Picatinny-Rail/dp/B01LWATDQG/
There are similar, but this is the cheapest on Amazon currently. I have a knockoff and a legit Atlas. The knockoff needed a little filling to get everything tight, though survived a year of shooting, and 4 PRS format club matches before a part broke - not terrible.
I agree with the others. Go cheap. I own a Harris HBRM-S which I use on my Savage. I have a Caldwell XLA for my 10/22s. They function nearly exactly the same. The Harris is obviously more robust and will take a beating out in the field better but I think it's overkill for the 10/22. I chose to spend a little more on the Caldwell (over the CVLIFE) as I was more familiar with the brand name and they make a pivot lock which I like. I would imagine the quality and materials are about the same between this and the CVLIFE one (as they're both probably made in China). In the 14 months I've had the Caldwell, I've only had one issue and that is the rubber padding that goes between the barrel and the bipod has fallen off twice. It's still sticky-ish so I just place it back on but someday I'm going to need to glue it or peel the other off and use some rubber strips from Home Depot.
Here you go. I think. Might not be the exact same, but it functions in a similar fashion.
i found one for $39 shipped prime. so i bought 5 of them :)
its really good quality. you will need to use blue loctite for the knob because it gets loose easily. once you loctite that thread, its perfect!

I put a Harris on the front stud. You can get an adapter to mount a rail segment to a stud, but they add alot of bulk to the setup. If money is an issue, one of these Harris clones will get the job done for bench and level ground shooting:

Seems plenty sturdy for civilian applications
It could be a pain if you have a cheap case with thin padding, or have some really challenging ground to setup on, but it works fabulously on my shooting table and mostly smooth ground.
That mates with an AimSports rail I got from primary. I REALLY like that rail. Easiest attachment to the barrel nut I’ve done on any AR I’ve built.
https://www.amazon.com/CVLIFE-Inches-Tactical-Adjustable-Adapter/dp/B01E4YVCOA/ref=sr_1_4?s=hunting-fishing&ie=UTF8&qid=1497501631&sr=1-4&keywords=bipod
It doesnt mount that well on this rifle. But the stock is a little irregular. If it was more rounded i think it would work better.
I have a UTG QD bipod on one of my rifles. link
I've shot great groups with it on an AR15 from a concrete table. The QD mechanism gets loose easily, and it has some consequent give from side to side. If you want to just shoot from stable positions, cool. If you're thinking of putting this under a 15lbs plus rifle and shooting from barricades and stuff, I might say go with something better.
On a budget? I've actually been really enjoying using the CVlife telescoping bipod, sub $20 on amazon for my bolt .223.
https://www.amazon.com/CVLIFE-Inches-Tactical-Adjustable-Adapter/dp/B01E4YVCOA
I'm partial to the nikon m-233 or p-223, they also have a 308 variant for a bit more. The p-223 runs sub 150 at cabellas, but I'm sure you can find a cheaper one.
If you're looking for even cheaper glass, well, just click around and you'll find something usable.
Also, here's the exact bipod he bought for the rifle. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01H8SCFIG/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_Q8HSybJXQ779R
Don't think that attachment will work for the keymod though. The cheapest I've seen the attachment is around $50. I thought about going with something like this instead and just putting a rail section on the bottom of the hand guard. https://www.amazon.com/CVLIFE-Inches-Tactical-Adjustable-Adapter/dp/B01E4YVCOA/ref=sr_1_4?s=hunting-fishing&ie=UTF8&qid=1491854047&sr=1-4&keywords=bipod
these bipods are awesome. I am always thinking about buying a second one, but it's hard to justify.

This one in link. It does “tilt” side to side so you can level on uneven ground. I put the bigger handle on it to tighten it down. I leave it just loose enough so that I can tilt with a little force when needed.
Harris Engineering S-BRM Hinged... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000JJGXAI?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
It feels very stable when torqued down and the rubber feet move enough to make adjustments while firing. I'm pretty happy with it. Zeroed the rifle and my friend's Savage rifle.

Do you know the difference between the HBRMS and the BRM? I have this one: Harris Engineering 1A2-BRM Solid Base 6 - 9-Inch BiPod https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000JJL81M/
I think the H stands for hinged and the S stands for swivel, but I'm not sure exactly what that means. I don't care so much about being able to tilt my gun gun clockwise or counterclockwise as I don't shoot on uneven surfaces usually. What I would like is be able to move the gun left and right if I'm following a deer or something.
I have this one and it works well, made by MIM Mfg. "S" Lock for "S" Series Harris Bipod https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HQ41YPS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_C596AbNMQ3J63
Thanks! Well on the Model 11 its a Champion Bipod, and on the MKII its just a cheap one from Amazon. it works well but I'm thinking of getting a better one down the road http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0035L35A8/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Honestly I'm using one of [these] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0032MUIL4/ref=oh_details_o06_s02_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) on my 22-250 and it has worked pretty well. Yeah there are a few little things like the collars where the springs attach can slip but I fixed that with a bit of sugru, and then added more sugru to help quiet it up a bit for varmint hunting.
If I were shooting something huge that was really heavy or had a big kick I would think about getting something more expensive... After I tried this cheapo on it.
I got this bipod. It's just a cheap chinese one but it holds on fine and creates a good platform to shoot from without being close to breaking the bank. As far as match ammo, I've never used any myself and only shot cheap plinking ammo from my own Savage so far. Eley and CCI would probably be the most consistent from what I've heard. I was grouping around 2inches with the cheap stuff at 100 yesterday but I also had a lot of trouble seeing my target because of my crosshairs and the ammo wasn't helping much either. Hope that helps. Another thing to keep in mind is that .22lr loses velocity very fast and that as it goes transonic you'll lose a lot of accuracy at 100+ yards so it would likely help to use subsonic if you'll try to shoot for groups at a 100
So far I am a big fan of this one over "cheap" ones I have seen. Its rated pretty well on Amazon UTG Tactical OP Bipod.

The tech sights come highly recommended and they seem to work pretty well but I plan to swap them out for a scope after the Appleseed. No complaints about them at all, I just think I'd prefer a little magnification. Still new to all this so maybe I'm wrong but I really loved shooting my AR with the new optic.
Bipod was just an Amazon cheapie. I didn't even end up using it that day because it felt too high for the bench I was at. I also had problems with the Hogue stock and getting a good sight picture so I swapped back to the wood stock for the next trip.
This one is great, sturdy and under $40

This is the bipod on my RAR.

I think that's it but can be sure..its been over a year since I got it. It did have 2 screws that were loose when I got it but I put a drop a drop of loctite and its performance has been perfect even under some really heavy recoil rifles
Normally the other option is a shooting bag / rest of some sort.
But I mean you can get a pretty cheap bipod for the same price as well.
