Thank you so much!

I've only been at it for just over a month now, so I'm no expert by any means, but here's what I found works best for me:

this paper
UV spray
For Cutting
[I use this printer] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0798D6XBM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_taa_.neCDbCF0XZKP)

I started out using regular sticker paper with a cold-press laminate(it was the cheapest route), and they looked and felt really nice...at first. they didn't hold up against weather and water for very long. The laminated part was water proof, but it would get wet under the sticker, and eventually break the sticker apart. They were also hard to make without them getting all scratched up before you even cut them.

I like that vinyl paper a lot. There are a lot of options for it, but that is the most cost effective, and so far, it's been really fantastic. The paper is water resistant, so water doesn't get underneath the sticker and break it apart like the other ones. After I print a page, I spray it with that UV spray. It just gives a nice texture that I like, and keeps them from fading in the sun. I ran a sticker through the dishwasher before I sprayed it. The sticker part held on phenominally well, the ink ran tho. I haven't tried it with the coat, but I don't see myself washing many stickers.

After the spray dries (a couple of minutes), a run it through the Cameo 3. I started out with a Cricut. I actually like the Cricut machine better. It's designed to just work. However, the software is garbage. It's web based, and even worse, it automaticaly arranges your artwork on the page to be printed and cut. That sounds nice, but 99% of the time, it wasted more than half the page. I was throwing out so much paper. There are some workarounds I found online, but they were tedious, innacurate, and not worth the effort. I do not reccommend the cricut until they get their software in line. The Cameo takes a little more fiddling with, but it's more custumizable, and I arrange stickers on the page how I want.

My printer is just that low-end Epson. It works great actually. The only thing I would suggest is getting a printer that you can side-load. I feel like the the paper getting bent through the printer isn't good for the paper, and makes the printing inconsistent (also, it probably has to do with being a cheap printer too). I plan on upgrading, but I already bought a bunch of ink, and I want to get through that first.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, have fun!

Sorry about the novel!

Yeah, these actually came from my DeLorean. :) I use HQ glossy sticker paper for mine, specifically https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000VKV2H4/ though I'm sure that others are great too. I used to use the standard matte sticker paper but they just ended up looking dull.

If you can use a laser printer instead of an inkjet I would highly recommend it. Things just come out a lot crisper. I used inkjet on these stickers because my latest job doesn't have a color laser printer for me to abuse. You can see on my General Lee (http://imgur.com/a/Ttruk) how nice the laser printed stickers are.

I always print a few of the same sticker on a sticker page just in case I mess up cutting or applying one. Oh and whatever you do, wait a good while after you print before you try applying the stickers!

u/DayumNatureUScary · 5 pointsr/Bitcoin

So glad I used Teslin Paper for my long term storage. The creator of bitcoinpaperwallet.com recommend it. I ran a paper wallet under the kitchen faucet and not so much as a smudge happened with this paper.

Based off this idea, here's my contribution to the effort. It's a custom frame with transparency to print which should slide over any standard mtg card. It doesn't convey that it's a token, but I assume people can figure that out.

If you have an inkjet printer, you can print it on transparency film, like this stuff. I haven't scaled it at all, but if you spend some time on word you should be able to work it out.

Hypothetically, at the end of this you should be able to trim the edges and have a printable transparent card to place over whatever you're creating.

u/Goodgulf · 3 pointsr/modelmakers

Starship Modeler has some downloadable aztek decals here that can be printed on water-slide decal printer paper available here on Amazon.

You may have to adjust the scale to get them to fit correctly, but the price is certainly right!

u/OrangePoser · 3 pointsr/Tools

It took a while to find the card stock I wanted to use for this. I called around and looked online to order plastic cards, but they all wanted to do large runs of a single image. I looked for printable plastic but mostly those were for laser printers, or transparencies for projectors and too flimsy.

Eventually I looked up "waterproof paper" and found my solution. I got a 10 pack of this: Inkjet Teslin Synthetic Paper - 10 Sheets https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004PX7ZTC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_CZk4wb1GET0VW

I printed these in my inkjet printer on Matte Photo Paper setting.

After a few years of not-gentle usage, they're holding up great, wet and dry. I really need to do another printing cause I’ve doubled my tools since these photos...

u/bc2229 · 3 pointsr/mylittlepony

I've been making them for awhile. I'll give ya a protip!

For the price, you can't go wrong with this paper here.

100 gloss finish sheets for less than $20USD is nice.

But keep in mind, if you want it to stay, and it's going to be there forever, none of these papers are very good for that. But you can use rattlecan(spraypaint)clearcoat(Krylon is the best IMO)and that will make it weatherproof and permanent.

u/StevesRealAccount · 3 pointsr/lego

Best way to do it would probably be inkjet sticker paper like this.

There's also inkjet decal paper (waterslide transfer) like this but I find it harder to work with and it's also a lot more expensive.

u/Mcashley311 · 2 pointsr/MechanicalKeyboards

Yup! Here’s the link to the same one I used, but in white. There’s plenty of other brands (and smaller packages) out there, as well, just make sure it’s for the right type of ink for your printer. :-)

u/DohvahQuiin · 2 pointsr/cruze

Hey,
I've had a look into the printing (I have a print industry background), and I reckon the easiest way to do this is to engage a company online and just provide them the design.

Stickermule seems quite decently priced and international: https://www.stickermule.com/products/transfer-stickers (do some research first of course).

Alternatively you could grab some vinyl printer paper from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/Craftables-Waterproof-Inkjet-Sticker-Paper/dp/B079SMHW11/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?keywords=vinyl+sticker+paper&qid=1570413984&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExTDZHMVpNU09OMUQyJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMzYwODczMUNQVUMyTFZQMzNWWiZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwNjY5NzMzWFkyWDRQV05VNFFHJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==) and print yourself! :-)

u/SnoopyM · 2 pointsr/diypedals

Yes it would work I would use
vinyl sticker paper instead though

The end product can turn out quite nice but can be damaged pretty easily if handled rough.

If you're a designer, graphic artist or anyone who might anticipate the need to do large format prints in the future, you might want to consider picking up a Canon PIXMA Pro 100 printer while they are on sale. Then you have the ability to print large formats yourself without relying on an expensive outside company:

Transparent film comes in a variety of sizes and materials, which you will want to select from carefully depending on your needs. These films generally consist of clear plastic layer (polyester, acrylic, mylar, etc.) that is coated on one side with a thin translucent or transparent ink-absorbent layer that can be printed on.

https://www.amazon.com/CisInks-Sheets-100micron-WaterProof-Transparency/dp/B00HWI9M2A/

https://www.amazon.com/MIL-Waterproof-Screen-Printing-Transparency/dp/B079RKXZXN/

The Canon PIXMA Pro-100 supports media sizes up to 13x19" (up to 13x26" is possible through an undocumented process, see link below - this might come in handy for signage or posters). The Pro-100 has a highly color-accurate 8-color ink system that will produce professional quality printouts, and is perfect for graphic design proofing. It can give you an extremely high resolution of 4800x2400 dpi capable of a microscopic 3 picoliter droplet size. The Canon PIXMA Pro-100 is a excellent professional grade, large format printer. Be sure you check the dimensions first - this printer is large and heavy. Also, this printer does not do automatic duplex, so you would need to manually load printed pages upside down to print on the reverse side (not terribly difficult especially if you are doing many copies of the same document).

This printer is currently available brand-new for UNDER $150 after rebate, which includes FREE shipping, FREE 50-sheet pack of Canon Photo Paper Pro Luster 13x19" paper, and a complete set of 8 full-capacity ink cartridges in the box:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=me1oxx8xMnQ&t=13s

Best of all, it's easy to get third-party inks in bulk and everything else you need from Precisioncolors.com, so there is no need to dump tons of cash on Canon OEM cartridges.

Its printable, clear, adhesive vinyl:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004JZYXXW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Its a bit pricey, though. If anyone knows of other materials/methods for decals, give a shout.

u/alexsyc11 · 2 pointsr/gamecollecting

I've had a couple of games that came with obliterated labels in the past and used this paper for printing. It's dirt cheap and has a glossy finish.

They're used mostly for end labels on my N64 cases but I also did these guys. Just print out 12 to a sheet and cut.

u/brent_tubbs · 1 pointr/diypedals

I've only used laser printed water slides, and they mostly work well. After I immerse them in water, they take 1-2 minutes before they get slidey enough to come entirely off the backing.

The paper I use: https://www.amazon.com/Blinggasm-Waterslide-8-5X11-Inch-Inkjet-Printer/dp/B00ZLVF698/ref=sr_1_1

u/dat1guybrah · 1 pointr/SCREENPRINTING

I use a wide format printer officejet 7612 and transparencies from amazon. I believe these are it (Size 11x17) if that's not big enough there's also some 13x19's:

https://www.amazon.com/CisInks-WaterProof-Inkjet-Transparency-Printing/dp/B00HWI9KWM/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1484768448&sr=8-12&keywords=screen+printing+transparencies

Works great, possible depending on how you print, you may need to double them for optimum Blackout.

u/DorffMeister · 1 pointr/silhouettecutters

Oh I see. Well, you cannot really go more shallow than "1" I assume. After I cut, I can pull the page off of the bed and remove the stickers individually from the sheet. I believe it scores through the backing some but not enough for the whole sticker to fall out.

It may be a case of the media not being completely appropriate for your needs. I've been happy with

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000VKV2H4

and they are cheap-ish. I just bought a 10 pack of

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FKXOJOY

but have't tried them, yet.

u/cantonbecker · 1 pointr/Bitcoin

There's also Teslin synthetic paper which apparently waterproofs ink after it dries. I haven't tested this myself yet. Expensive too.

u/loociano · 1 pointr/Gameboy

Was it this brand? https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01N25GYMS

I ordered recently but haven't tried.

u/trustifarian · 1 pointr/Guitar

I honestly think cut vinyl would be the best bet. You'd probably need to go to a sign shop to get it done. The vinyl will wear a lot better than any paper-based sticker material, and it would be die-cut to the shape so there wouldn't be any material between the individual parts of the bee. Think of the lettering/signage on store windows. I don't have any experience with waterslide type stuff so that I don't know. This paper was my first google hit for waterslide paper. That would probably be the cheapest option, but according to the instructions you need to cover it with an oil-based varnish to make the white bits clear.

I went back through the images and on the second to last image of the guitar, before the 2 case shots, you can see that the bee is matte in comparison to the the gloss of the guitar finish so it's on top and doesn't really look like it has a finish over it.

u/NAMegaFauna · 1 pointr/sticker

This paper is a-ok

but also use this or something like it. Spray multiple times if you're using a lot of ink.

edit: tl;dr: if you're using gloss or vinyl use acrylic coating.

u/13798246 · 1 pointr/xbmc

Logos + 100 pack of sticker paper? It isnt free but you could make around 200 stickers for $17.99 plus shipping.

u/jynnjynn · 1 pointr/DIY

If you suck at art.. you could get some of This and print out basically anything you want on it, trim it down around the edges, slide it on, and spray some clear lacquer to adhere.

If it's a dark colored guitar, you may need to get the "white" version, or the clear may not show up.

You could also decoupage it with cutouts of other stuff you like?

If you don't suck at art, or know someone who doesnt, just paint something cool on it.

alternately, check google image search for "decorated guitar" or "decorative guitar" and see if anything strikes your fancy.

u/ComradeH · 1 pointr/weddingplanning

We didn't print our invites, but we did print our STD's, programmes, menus and hen do invites.

This is the card we used, House of Card, 250gsm, pack of 100 for £5.99. In theory, if you're having A5 invites, this will give you 200... or 100 A5 invites and 100 A6 RSVPS and 100 A6 Info cards.

The card is a really lovely weight - a tiny bit floppy if using as full A4, but at A5 it feels great. Not flimsy at all. And worked a treat with our basic old £30 from Tesco inkjet printer. Has a really nice finish too.

Really, it's not that much of a faff. Buy extra card so you can practice - and invest in a good paper trimmer and you'll be golden. I originally bought a £10 one from Argos - it was rubbish and made my lines wonky. This works great!

If using thicker card (which you'll want to do for the weight), I recommend only feeding say 10-20 sheets into the printer at a time.

When I was in college, we used transparent media to print our presentation slides on inkjet printer. Then, we used a overhead proyector.

Maybe something like this
OHP Film Overhead Projector Film - 8.5x11" for Inkjet Printer only Transparency Film 20 Sheets Uinkit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078QYKNKG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_h.lGDbEMFBK31

Or google inkjet transparent film.
There are clear and milky versions of those sheets

I've used this stuff before and depending on the surface shape it can form up really tight. Clear coat over it and you're set

With $100 I say paint. It seems that you are into aircraft, I would copy those aircraft posters onto transparency film and borrow an overhead projector. Cover an entire wall with aircraft designs

Hey so I know this is like a month later, but I just bought Hollow Ichigo pop, got rid of his red eyes with acetone and I'm going to use [these waterslide decals](Blinggasm Waterslide Decal Paper 10 Sheets Pack, Clear or White, Inkjet or Laser Printer Choose From Menu (CLEAR FOR LASER PRINTER) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ZLVF698/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_8iPLyb809F60Q) from Amazon and print on them some basic yellow circles for eyes. It comes in the mail Tuesday, so I'll post back my final result and if it turns out okay, you could do the same for your pop. I'm just going to make the eyes in Photoshop and print them off. I bought the decal sheets for laser printers as laser is better than inkjet for decals (so I've read).

u/reddit455 · 1 pointr/Albuquerque

alternatively, could you use a digital projector? those can be rented and the "slide" is just a search away.

what about an old school overhead.. pretty sure kinkos can make you a transparency. mask out the whitespace with foil...
