|name|Los Fabulosos Cadillacs|
|about artist|Los Fabulosos Cadillacs are a latin-rock band from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Formed in 1985, they released their first album, Bares y Fondas (Bars and Boardinghouses) in 1986. Since then they have released fourteen more albums. The band's sound is a mix of rock, ska, jazz, salsa, folk, rap and big band. The lineup has changed throughout the years, but the core members have always been the co-founders: singer Gabriel Fernandez Capello (known as Vicentico) and bassist Flavio Cianciaurlo (known as Sr. Flavio). Vicentico and Sr. Flavio have done the majority of the songwriting and lyrics as well. ([more on last.fm](http://www.last.fm/music/Los Fabulosos Cadillacs))|

"Simmer Down" is ska from about '64. There are a bunch of 60's ska CDs out there but be careful because many, especially the compilations, have overlapping tracks. Here are some examples:
"Harder They Come" is early reggae from about '72. Between ska and reggae was a style called rock steady that was sort of like slow ska. Most ska CDs will have at least a few rock steady songs mixed in too. It's a little later than the time period of "Harder They Come" but the best selling reggae record of all time is Bob Marley - Legend and it's worth checking out if you're not familiar with it. Here are some examples of early reggae:
Can never go wrong with this amazing album on vinyl

What up doe....
I'm going to pick 5 great albums, and for the most part they represent my favorites, but these will be somewhat more accessible than other stuff I could dig up. Sorry for the US links, but I didn't want to presume too much. I figure you'll be downloading from elsewhere anyway.
This is going to be combination ska/rocksteady/reggae, because sometimes the lines aren't so clear.
Skatalites - Guns of Navarone/Best of (absolutely essential)
The Slackers - The Question (youngish guys playing old styles)
Tim Armstrong (with the Aggrolites) - A Poet's Life (Rancid's singer backed by the incredible Aggrolites)
Chris Murray - Yard Sale (One man band. my favorite song of all time is Let There Be Peace)
Slapstick - Slapstick/25 Songs (third wave, kinda punky stuff)
Great song. The Specials did a good cover of this; I couldn't find it on youtube, so you'd have to get their Today's Specials CD to hear it. They gave it a much stronger sound than the original.
Hey! The album this was off of was "Today's Specials" and it is currently out of print. I don't know if the label went under or if there is a lot of crazy legal rules around it, but that's why it isn't on any MP3 purchase sites. Oddly, while I finally found a listing for it on Amazon, it only came up when I searched for the album name, not as part of the list of albums that the Specials have made/appeared on. Here's a link to get the CD used or pay an exorbitant price for a new one. Hope this helps!
For the Skatalites and original Jamaican ska specifically, there're a lot of excellent Studio One compilations. I like Foundation Ska a lot.
Also check out Stretching Out, the live recording from the Skatalites reunion in early 80s, pretty much the whole original lineup. A lot of accomplished ska musicians point to this album as a huge influence mainly because the recording is so good and you can pick up the rhythm and style a lot better than any of the original studio stuff, which was all mono and generally one mic in a room.

Candy Coated Fury - Reel Big Fish
The Peep Show is a sit-com following two flat-mates who are essentially polar opposites, and yet are friends. It follows their antics, and self centered attempts at one upping the other.
I'm not sure. That is a good question, I know Doc Martin is, but the rest I am unsure of. I have Jeeves and Wooster on DVD, and the Mitchell and Webb stuff I watched at a friends house. Oh yeah! I really really want it!
Also here are the links I forgot to do. One and Two.
I thought Sublime held up pretty well.
And there's a new album!
