It’s a really overpriced MLM. I think the oysters are $18 a piece, and you just get whatever color cultured pearl comes in the one they open, or you can trade it for a color of the host’s choosing. You then pay for a setting (that the host chooses, you don’t get to pick what the shape of your necklace will be) and the host sends it to you embedded in a bath bomb for some unknown reason, and IIRC the completed necklace with pearl costs around $45-50. I wondered why you couldn’t choose the necklace... until i found all products used to supply the MLM scam on amazon for next to nothing. The necklace packs they buy come with 10 assorted pendants, so the MLMer only has one of each style, so they just use whatever they have until they run out.

You can buy 10 oysters, jewelry settings, and 24 chains for under $50 on amazon. I mentioned this before on another pearl post, but it’s my new goal to ruin these stupid predatory MLMs and expose that their products are mass marketed crap that they use as a ruse to run pyramid schemes, so paste these links in a reply to their spam:

I hope this all helps. As far as a necklace chain you could get that on Amazon as well or if you have a Michael's craft store near you. I'm so sorry that you are going through this and I hope for love and peace for both you and your girlfriend.

I've found numbered tokens to be really useful as player/enemy avatars. I specifically use these for players and these ones for enemies.

What's really cool is that it makes keeping track of initiative order really simple. The glass tokens are the perfect size so that the plastic ring from a water bottle or most sodas will fit right around it. I have different colored rings for my players. They keep track of their color and the number they put it on changes based on their initiative order.

They're also the perfect size for Battle Mats. They fit right in the squares/hexes perfectly.

Lapis is not expensive at all, I wouldn't consider this a suspiciously low price. They look natural enough to me.
Here's the amazon page if others want to see the photos and info there.

No problem! See the links below. I bought some pre packaged 550 cord from Home Depot. Id recommend some better cord due to this being on the thicker side, so much that I had to take the core out of it. The Our Father beads were smaller than I wanted but made it work.

There are tons of clock-themed charms for jewelry making and similar crafts. Most of what I've seen are sort of a steampunk aesthetic, but it might work for you. Here is a set of assorted clock charms I found on Amazon for a reasonable price.

u/razerzej · 2 pointsr/DungeonsAndDragons

Yeah, I just found that out a little bit ago. Used twist-offs might work okay, but flattened bottlcaps that had been popped with an opener look like... flattened bottlecaps.

Pre-flattened caps or stamping blanks would be a more expensive but labor-saving option (or one could just go full spendy and buy pre-made fantasy coins). Whatever I go with, I owe you for the inspiration!

u/PM_ME_PEGGED_BUTTS · 2 pointsr/steampunk

Depends on the size. You can get a bunch of small cogs like these:

Teenitor 100 Gram Assorted Antique Steampunk Gears Charms Cogs Pendant Clock Watch Wheel Gear for Crafting Jewelry Making Accessory Bronze Copper Gold & Silver Mixed Color (Approx 70pcs) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01M5DVFYE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_zdizDbHM90KND

Larger ones, you may have to look around in scrap yards and the such, local mechanics might not be a bad idea, see if they have any old parts lying around that they can't use

u/theicewalker · 1 pointr/FATErpg

Most of the time I just use standard poker chips, but if I'm doing a special one-shot or mini-arc I'll use something different.

I plan to use these coins for an upcoming fantasy game.

We used these gears for a steampunk story arc.

I'm a big fan! Just make sure whatever you use isn't too small to get lost on top of the table easily. Some of those smaller gears would slide under character sheets from time to time.

It's supposed to look like a snake skin.
https://www.therpf.com/forums/attachments/img_1403-jpg.1025037/
I figured out a fairly inexpensive and reasonably close build using wound dressing:
https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00XNDAVUU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_C7LiDb86BBEG1
Any gray dye can be used to darken it. Once it's dry again, stretch it a little with your fingers and then flip it inside out. Looks just like snake skin.
Pretty close metal tassels can be found on Amazon, too. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B06XQHLMZM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_r-LiDbE5W1050
I've seen people buying snake skin scarves and others just using a wide shoe lace. A little work can get nearly screen accurate though.
Good luck!

If you cant find similar earrings, you can buy the parts from Michael's or Amazon maybe:
Pink faceted beads
Bead caps
Coin pendants
The little pin that goes through the pink beads, and loops around the coin
And just superglue one of these backings to the coin.
Also will need: pliers to bend stuff.

u/upsidedownbat · 1 pointr/BISMUTH

I made bismuth necklaces for many of my friends and family members for Christmas a couple years ago. The easiest way is to buy some bails (like these https://www.amazon.com/Scrabble-Earring-Fitting-Pendants-Making/dp/B07CDV68DP/) and just superglue the flat part of them to the backs of the crystals.

I also printed out little fact sheets that had facts about bismuth and a note that it's really soft and brittle so to be careful with it and the colors will rub off over time if they're handled.

Hmm, the SmoothOn website (https://www.smooth-on.com/products/mold-max-60/) says it has a 560F max, and some of the pewters I find online (eg https://www.amazon.com/Pewter-Ingot-2lbs-Britannia-Alloy/dp/B01F5SBCY4) list a melting point of 563F and pouring temp of 650F.

u/Mar1776 · 1 pointr/crafting

I would search ebay, amazon and etsy using words like, earring frames .. the wood ones are probably going to be harder to find. would maybe look for wood rings- its possible they are meant to be used for something else, and the crafter re-purposed them and made earrings. Below is what I found doing a quick search.

I just use coins with numbers on them. You can get a pack up to like #31 for a few bucks off amazon, and they fit in the grid. Then I will have figurines for the heroes. The bad guys change all the time.

https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B016QUF1NI/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_i_Dr2UDb2NQQ3J5

They don't take a lot of space, if you really wanted to get crazy you could get like a seperated pill box and split them into groups of 5 so it's a quick grab with the right numbers. But I just do it loose and write down whatever numbers I draw. They have a hole at the top that I use as the "front" of the monster. They work pretty good.
