$2000 is a little more than what I usually see. But >$1000 is not all that unusual, if there is a particular feature or brand that you need to match the rest of your kitchen. I am not saying you'd have to buy this particular model. But anecdotally, I heard a lot of frustrating stories about the cheap sub-$300 "made by the lowest bidder" pot fillers (even if sold under well-known brand names). You probably don't need to go all the way to $1000 to get quality, but you probably want something around $500-600 to get higher reliability.

Plumbing fixtures are really really expensive. And if design is important to you, then things get truly crazy.
