I have a seat cushion from Purple in my car and I used to have one at my office too. They are expensive, $50-80 I think, but I think it's worth it. I can't even explain to you how much of a difference it makes for me. I used to have to fly long flights (>12hr) and it makes all the difference in the world.

I highly recommend the Royal (here on Amazon)

But I also have an Everywhere (also on Amazon)

It is an anti-fatigue mat and according to the product description, "(it) conforms to the shape of your feet and supports your arches for relief of back, leg and foot discomfort".

I bought this particular one.

u/deviousfalcon67 · 5 pointsr/DestinyTheGame

For everyone wanting to know where to get these: 29.95 on Amazon

u/CamelCavalry · 5 pointsr/financialindependence

I'm guessing your reusable paper towels aren't literally paper towels, but something like kitchen towels that serve a similar purpose? Because that's a good start. Reusable water bottles are an obvious candidate, and I drink more water when I carry one, too.

Many air filters for your car or home air conditioner can be bought as reusable that you periodically clean out, rather than the cheaper paper ones. I don't know at what point they come out ahead from a cost perspective, but it would reduce your trash. Coffee filters, too, if that's your thing, although the metal mesh ones don't filter out the oils the same way, if that matters to you.

Breaking off into things that would require a change in behavior, if you like craft beer, consider buying a growler and finding a place that does growler fills rather than buying a 6-pack or a case of cans or bottles (aluminum is an excellent candidate for recycling, but recycling glass is about the same cost and effort as making new glass). As an added benefit, I try more new beers when I do this and am able to get brews I can't find in bottles, plus it's fun to share with friends if we're doing a barbecue or something. It's not going to save you a lot of money, but it does cut down on trash and is at least cheaper than drinking out.

No post for saving money and reducing waste would be complete without a nod to the folks at /r/wicked_edge if you shave. A straight razor would have virtually no waste, if you're up for it, and a single or double edge safety razor would only need replacement blades, which can be recycled if you put them in a blades bank. The most expensive blades I've used with my double edge razor cost me \$30 for 100.

If you're really into reducing waste, you could trade in disposable pens for one that will take replacement ink cartridges or even a fountain or rollerball pen with a refillable reservoir for a truly no-waste solution, but my guess is that costs you more money in the long run.

u/naorlar · 5 pointsr/Showerthoughts

Get the royal purple cushion. It's pricy but worth every damn penny for all the comfy cloud like sitting I can do now.

Edit: you may be tempted to cheap out and get their 1" version - don't. 2" or bust. It makes all the difference.

u/atomic_bonanza · 3 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

:D YAY!!!!! GIFTING IS FUN! Thanks for this!

I keep entering this as my prize in raffle contests so it's now become a personal vendetta. Oh this would be good for the kitchen because I melted my other one in the dishwasher. This froggy mitt is just super cute. :D

u/TheRubyRedPirate · 3 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I was 3lbs when I was born and the only clothes I fit into were cabbage patch doll clothes. I was so tiny that my mom pinned my bottom to a pillow to take me to church. I just napped on my pillow the whole time. I also have a bellybutton about 1-2 inches higher than the average bellybutton. I had so many tubes and procedures as a baby that they kinda had to make me a bellybutton.

This apron because I love to cook and bake. I end up getting food all over myself

Thank you for the contest.

u/awkwardlittleturtle · 3 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

This awesome apron is $13.13. Double the lucky 13 -ness! ;)

u/stevelosh · 2 pointsr/battlestations

If you stand for more than an hour you'll want a padded mat for your feet. I have this one and it's like standing on a floor made of soft baby squirrels, but there are lots of other options out there too.

u/[deleted] · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I love food! and [cooking] (http://www.amazon.com/Womens-Ladies-Include-Sleeve-Bowknot/dp/B00BPMH3E8/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=2TDGJE6IM8HDP&coliid=I2ZIQKM3V1ZS66) food!

I'm starting to become a little bit of a foodie as well. Thanks to /u/Matronix. I think the weirdest thing (for me) that I have tried recently was sweet breads. I know that's not weird for some people but it was quite a leap into not-normal food for me! They were bacon wrapped sweetbreads. Not too shabby but the texture was definitely...different.

u/DioTheory · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

1.) Something that is grey: Sculpy! From my cosplay wishlist! :D

2.) Something reminiscent of rain: This hair accessory from my Silly Fun list! I don't know if they're meant to, but the blue bits remind me of raindrops. <3

3.) Something food related that is unusual: Food picks from my Silly Fun list! Maybe not super unusual in Japan, but here in America I doubt you'd see them often.

4.) Something on your list that is for someone other than yourself: This book off my Books wishlist of course! It's for my husband, who's a huge fan of the Elder Scrolls games. I like them, too, but I doubt I'd ever read this.

5.) A book I should read: The Invisible Gorilla, again, off my Books list. I read almost a third of this book while hidden in a book store one day. It's an absolutely fascinating study (or rather, collection of studies) about how much trust we place in our own faulty intuitions.

6.) An item that is less than a dollar, including shipping... that is not jewelry, nail polish, and or hair related: Barely, but this nautical star decal! Unfortunately, it's not on any of my lists.

7.) Something related to cats: Another from my Books wishlist! I'm pretty sure I already know my cat wants to kill me, but this book looks funny anyway.

8.) Something that is not useful, but so beautiful you must have it: Stationary, from my Silly Fun list. I have no one to write to, but I have an obsession with pretty stationary and cards and things. I'm usually too afraid to write on it, even, because nothing ever seems worthy of the pretty paper...

9.) A movie everyone should watch at least once in their life: From my Movies/TV list: Braveheart! Because FREEEDOOOOOOM!!!!!

10.) Something that would be useful when the zombies attack. Explain: Survival knife from my Adventure wishlist! Secluded, unpopulated areas are best for hiding from zombies, and this thing even comes with a firestarter! HOW CAN YOU SAY NO?

11.) Something that would have a profound impact on your life and help you to achieve your current goals: This book which is, strangely, on my Semi-Practical list. I'm a Math/Physics major, but I haven't been in school in quite a while. I'm about to go back very soon, and I'm a little petrified of failing out.

12.) One of those pesky Add-On items: Red Heart yarn from my Crochet wishlist!

13.) The most expensive thing on your list. Your dream item: The PS4 from my Video Games list. I'm an avid gamer. Video games are how I relax. It's one of the few things that, no matter how crappy my day was, always manages to raise my spirits and help me forget about it all.

14.) Something bigger than a bread box: Apparently bread boxes are way bigger than I thought, so I'll go with this desk off my Semi-Practical wishlist. Surely that's big enough! XD

15.) Something smaller than a golf ball: Turtle earrings off my Silly Fun list! THEY'RE SO CUTE!

16.) Something that smells wonderful: Teavana's Blueberry Bliss tea off my Silly Fun list (yet again). If you've never been in a Teavana store, go this second and just...inhale. <3

17.) A (SFW) toy: Frog mitt from my Practical list. I'm fairly certain this isn't supposed to be a toy, but I get the feeling I'm going to spend more time using it as a puppet than as an oven mitt.

18.) Something that would be helpful for going back to school: This backpack from my Semi-Practical list! I want it so badly!! IT'S STUDIO GHIBLI HOW AWESOME IS THAT?

19.) Something related to your current obsession, whatever that may be: 12 Hole Ocarina from my Ocarina wishlist. It's so beautiful and it comes with a Lord of the Rings songbook and I just LOVE IT SO MUCH.

20.) Something that is just so amazing and awe-inspiring that I simply must see it. Explain why it is so grand: Shark sleeping bag from my Silly Fun wishlist! You need me to explain it's awesome?? REALLY? IT'S A SHARK SLEEPING BAG. It looks like the shark is eating you!! Plus it's called the "Chumbuddy" and that just makes me laugh way harder than it should.

Fear cuts deeper than swords!

My go-to is always a nice bottle of alcohol - For being an adult and some form of novelty kitchen gift (usually animal oven mitts) - for embracing your child side.

u/curiousjp · 2 pointsr/DestinyMemes

You can get it on Amazon.

u/DXRacer · 2 pointsr/dxracer

A King series should fit you the most comfortably.

All of our armrests have about the same amount of cushion, but there are some third party solutions on Amazon if you require extra cushion on top of what we already offer. Be aware that memory foam covers do generate additional heat.

u/Wookie_Raisin · 2 pointsr/Whatisthis

It's a folding trivet. Amazon link

u/theSlnn3r · 2 pointsr/battlestations

I got a motorized desk frame from Xmas also. I bought this desktop off of amazon and am really happy with it.

They are used like flat diapers but they are a lot bigger than flat diapers are. I can still do the origami fold on my 10 month old. You can fold them in the pad fold too, and then tuck them inside a cover like an insert or prefold. They wouldn't be the best option for daycare, a prefold would be better, but they are great for weekends. They also dry a hell of a lot faster.

u/Spamicles · 1 pointr/BuyItForLife

I like these (have had them for a year and they work great; easy to clean). I've used them for 450 degree F pans with no problems. http://www.amazon.com/Kitchen-Elements-Ultra-Flex-Silicone-Cooking/dp/B004QGXNT4

u/halsey1006 · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

I've had this chair for over 3 years now and it's been great. What I like about it is the suspended mesh instead of the usual padding for a butt cushion. Got some cushy armrests for it recently and it's even better.

u/SporkPlug · 1 pointr/minimalism

I have these from Amazon and I love them. I cook a lot so having so many of them is really helpful, I also use them instead of paper towels for cleaning and they work really well for that too.

Also, get some vinegar. It's magic, you can replace so many cleaning products with it.

Edit: ha, I missed where you asked for a small hand towel and I suggested a pack of 13. You can probably split them with someone, but between cooking and cleaning and living with the boyfriend and pets, a few extra come in handy pretty often.

u/imawin · 1 pointr/castiron

I just have dozens of these towels. I use them for everything. Fold it over a few times and it's fine for hot handles.

OMG I may or may not have found this apron

u/DVNO · 1 pointr/Cooking

I bought these on Amazon and it's been a great purchase. The quality is not great (some loose threads and bad stitching) and I won't say they're the most absorbent towels in the entire world, but they were a huge upgrade over my old ones. At about $1 a towel it's hard to go wrong.

u/ManiacalCircusClown · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

good call!

and welcome to health care!

i've been very pleased with my decision to be a respiratory therapist. it's such a nice feeling to help someone that isn't feeling well. i actually had a gentlemen stop me yesterday and thank me for helping his father when he was having a coughing fit and was short of breath. he didn't have to stop and thank me, but he did and it made my day.

anyway... the decision that my wife and i have made is to move to a different city, much larger city so that we can continue our schooling so we can advance in health care. she wants to be a CRNA and i'd like to be a PA.

flabbergasted!

Amazon or pretty much any restaurant supply store.

u/HopelessSemantic · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Unfortunately, the things I need aren't exactly cheap, hence me not buying them for myself. You will notice a theme.

My top three would be :

  1. this blender or a similar one. My favorite thing for breakfast is to have a smoothie, but I have arthritis that makes it difficult for me to disassemble and reassemble traditional blenders. These ones are supposed to be much easier.

  2. Good quality oven mitts because I burn myself often.

  3. Tea kettle. I love tea, and drink it often for my throat, (I have this weird spasming thing that makes my whole throat go crazy and sometimes bleed. I'll go to the doctor for it one of these years.) but my last kettle shattered, and I'm wary of using cheap, made in china kettles for risk of getting nasty chemicals in my tea.

I <3 you too. If you do choose me as a winner, I would happily take a gift card in a smaller amount to put towards one of these purchases. Thank you for the contest!
u/fisch003 · 1 pointr/pics
u/dirthawker0 · 1 pointr/Cooking

I recently bought these and these and am happy with their performance.

One thing you never want to do with dish towels is dry them with dryer sheets. Stuff has wax in them which will reduce the absorbency of your towels.

u/yakity_slacks · 1 pointr/Kayaking

On top of the moisture-wicking fabrics, I picked up a Purple seat cushion to help with that problem. It keeps me mostly above any moisture that gets into the seat, let's air circulate a bit more, and it's way more comfortable than the thin pads on most kayak seats.

https://www.amazon.com/Purple-Simply-Seat-Cushion-Relieving/dp/B01CKMP2Z8?th=1

u/omgdracula · 1 pointr/bodyweightfitness

Buy yourself a purple brand chair cushion. They make a portable one with handles. I sit all day as a webdev and my ass would hurt but holy hell this thing has been amazing. Super comfy.

Also make sure you have a good chair too. Chairs are super important.

This is the one I got https://www.amazon.com/Purple-PSC-PTB-01-Seat-Cushion-Portable/dp/B01CKMP2Z8?th=1

Herman Miller I believe is the chair brand my friends office uses. Very comfy but they are expensive but the warranty is super good. https://www.hermanmiller.com/products/seating/

u/TootsNYC · 1 pointr/TwoXChromosomes

I wish they still made those mesh-and-coil seat covers from the '50s, that allowed air to circulate all around you.

They also used to make them with just the seat part, which you could use at a desk. Might look a little odd, but people have pillows and stuff to ease compression, so it would be fine.

Oh, hey, wait--there are some seat cushions that might help, providing air flow around your bum, in the car and at a desk.

Here's a crapton of links:

Purple jiggly silicone w/ chambers

wire spring seat cushion--like the 1950s ones

Beaded (for the seat only--but there are full-seat versions as well)

silicone knobbies that leave plenty of space, and look like the kind of thing that's there to cushion your bones, etc.

cushion for coccyx support, but would have airflow capabilities.

more silicone knobs

and silicone knobs again--if you carried this into the classroom, people would just think you had a medical issue.
