These are the “famous” faux leather leggings

Ooooohhh I can do this one!

Some people have mentioned Hue leggings but I'd like to specifically mention these Hue ULTRA leggings (high waisted, wide waistband). I bought a pair last year and immediately bought another for my sister. They're the right weight, and the waistband sits flat and actually looks good under tight-ish sweater dresses! Cannot recommend highly enough.

Check out /r/femalefashionadvice they're pretty helpful.

Otherwise go with a chick that lived winter before.

I recommend:

I've been looking for fleece-lined winter tights but almost everything I find is 95% polyester. My concern with this is that the tights will stink after some hours of wear.

I found some tights on Amazon that are a nylon/spandex blend but the waistband looks super tight. I found another on Macy's but one review said it's 90% polyester so now I can't even trust the product description.

Can anyone recommend some decent, footed fleece-lined tights that don't have polyester, or at least have less than 90%, if such a thing exists?

Minnesotan born and bred. They key for me is layers, lots and lots of layers.

  1. Base Layer - I own a combination of Cudl Duds, Fleece-lined leggings, and one pair of Merino wool underclothes (leggings and a tight, long-sleeve shirt) for those Polar Vortex days. I try to stick to my neutral color palette (black, dark brown, navy blue, maroon, forest green) so I have under-layers that match my normal clothes if they show through. Double/triple up on leggings when it gets cold enough. Wool socks are a must.
  2. Normal Clothes - Layer normal outfits on top of your underclothes. I almost always wear A-line skirts and dresses paired with cardigans or oversized sweaters. I love this silhouette because it works well in all seasons, layered or not. I am warm in the winter, but still feminine. Plus I never have to worry about the bottom of my pants getting wet and gross from the snow. I do have a few pairs of "winter pants" that are 1-2 sizes up from my normal pants size so I can layer leggings underneath them.
  3. Outerwear - Boots and Coats are the most important, and if you're in a cold climate be ready to shell out $200-$400 for quality. We're talking down jackets that go down past your knees and 100% wool pea coats. For actual outdoor work, get a Carhart. Not fashionable, but very practical and it won't rip on barbed wire fences or whatever. Boots should always be insulated AND waterproof if possible. I have black Sorrels, the classic LL Bean duck boot, and a brown work boot. On days where it's not so terrible I can still get away wearing Chelsea boots or other ankle boots - but for a solid portion of the winter that's not reasonable footwear. I live in a hilly, rural area, so quality strap on ice cleats are a must for not falling on your face. I also keep a pair of office shoes in my cubicle to change out of for the workday.
  4. Accessories - Big scarves and hats are an everyday thing. Deer skin gloves for working outdoors, and fleece-lined leather gloves for driving/going to town.

Like so many things fashion, you'll want to try to build a look that works together. Start with one super high quality jacket. Be sure your good winter boots match your good winter coat. Make those work with a classic neutral color - black, brown, navy blue, etc. I have tried to build my wardrobe around two neutrals - Black/gray + brown/navy. Get crazy with your normal clothes, but my advice is to try to keep your outerwear as timeless as possible.

For fall/winter I highly recommend fleece-lined leggings. They're thicker so they don't become see-through as easily, and they're super warm for the colder parts of the year. Frankly, when it snowed they were much more comfortable than my jeans, and they fit under boots just as (if not more) easily.

I found mine on amazon in a bunch of different colors :D

EDIT: Here's a link to the ones I chose! I like them a lot!

One of my favorite bloggers has said definitively that these are the best leggings.

Maybe you wear it with these so that you look like someone out of a bad sci-fi movie from the 60's.

These:

Natural Feelings High Waisted Leggings for Women Ultra Soft Stretch Opaque Slim Yoga Leggings One Size & Plus Size https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TF6JY3P/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_LYA1DbG7W4062

They seem to be sold out of the 7-pack deal right now in “one size”, but they’re honestly the softest and most comfortable yoga pants I’ve EVER owned.

New York and Co. makes some stretch/yoga pants that look like professional slacks as well, just go to their website!!! You could absolutely pull those off, and they often have BOGO sales. The name of the game for you at this point is inexpensive and stretchy, regardless of what you pick.

u/ToYourLoveRidden · 2 pointsr/buffy

Shockingly comfortable! I was surprised to discover they were thinly lined as well, so they didn’t stick or make a ton of noise, there is a high waist and part that is the only bit unlined. They also come in black, and I’m definitely getting them!

I also bought those apparently “infamous” super expensive Spanx faux leather leggings for like 4 times the price to have a comparison option. They were awful. Going back!

The tunic happened to be like 50% off when I got it, which was a huge win!

I got mine from Amazon and they were extremely warm and comfortable! Here are the ones I bought.

I wondered how the new Interlink leggings were! I find the rest of their stuff to be pretty sheer. These are the ones your are talking about, right?

u/KallellyB · 1 pointr/FashionPlus

These are my very favorite. I have black and the nude.

u/Butterbutterbutter_ · 1 pointr/xxfitness

My favorite leggings are Yogalicious, specifically the ones made out of their "Lux" material (but even the ones not labeled as Lux aren't see-though on me).

Here's an Amazon link for ankle length

And another Amazon link for capri length

I see you like cats so I think you should get some of these. I'm still trying to convince my SO to buy me a pair.

Assuming you're a woman and your preference is dresses/skirts over jeans, fleece lined leggings will be your friend.

And boots. Practical boots for the potential snow/ice and more fashionable ones, with a small-to-no-heel.
