Top Reddit comments about Lighters:

  • Berkey Travel Water Filter - This way you can filter larger quantities of water than would be available through a Lifestraw

  • 50 Pk Bic Lighters - You don't want to rely solely on a few lighters in the event they stop working

  • A sleeve each of Lithium Ion batteries in AA, AAA, C & D in the event you need to power something other than a flashlight

  • 2 quality flashlights

  • A good quality can opener as well as a couple military style openers without the moving parts that can break

  • Tuna is good but also baked beans, chili and beef stew ; high protein foods to go with your rice. If you get cans stay away from the pull tab tops. Also add some honey(real honey), salt and pepper

  • Good hiking/walking shoes in the event you have to travel by foot. Also don't forget a good quality backpack

  • Battery operated or crank operated Emergency radio

  • In addition to a knife I would also add a machete and a hatchet. You can use them for protection and tools

  • A small camping kit to heat up your food as well as some 100 hour candles or a couple of small quality oil lamps with a couple gallons of lamp oil

  • Be careful of the survival kits you see online as sometimes they are filled with stuff you do not need and you can make your own cheaper. Definitely purchase a First Aid kit

  • I have added gas masks to my kit which some say is extreme but during riots and unrest the authorities will use tear gas and you have people burning tires, cars and whatever else they can so you don't want to breathe that crap in. I went with the NATO SGE 150 with spare filters but remember that the filters do expire so you will have to purchase new ones every couple of years

Most of these items take up minimal space and you can add to your stash as you see fit ; hope this helps

If you ever wanna change it over to butane - I wouldn't light a pipe with Zippo fuel because it tastes too nasty.

Plus butane is far more reliable especially if you don't smoke often because it does not evaporate.

Buy it for like a hundred weeks:

I think the other guy was trying to say go with the VapCap though chose to just bash on the other products you mentioned without bothering to talk about your other options. The VapCap M is a solid quality product that can last a lifetime if treated with respect. It also looks pretty gentlemanlike paired with a suit which keeps with the wedding theme.

These little things are a fantastic vape given any price range. I would rather use a VapCap M than many units 4 times the price or more.

One thing I will mention is the packaging / storage tube. This is literally a plastic tube and given the situation I think you would do really well to make some simple presentation boxes for them out of wood. It would be a cheap and easy project to give it that final touch of class.

Oh one other thing to mention and I know this will bump the cost up another $60 or so but get them a nice torch lighter to go with it so that they don't need to go and buy anything to use it. This one or that one would do it nicely.

Use this: its a lifesaver.
Just remember to turn the flame all the way down and empty he remaining butane before you refill it

u/bokkens · 4 pointsr/videos

I came here to say that. This is not a new or unique technology, nor is it worth $60.

You dont even have to go as far as Ali express to find it cheaper.
Amazon has it from another brand called "Tesla Coil Lighters" for 22.95, and the more you look the cheaper it gets.

:P it's a cash grab that seems to be working

u/MAG_Reloaded · 4 pointsr/trees

Hemp wick attachment for a bic. So I light the wick with a lighter, and then then bowl with the wick. Also hemp wick is absolutely a million times better than butane. I thought I wouldn't like it the first time I tried hemp wick, but I've never gone back to just using a lighter.

Quad flame, pretty good price it does the job. I only wish I could see how much fuel it had left.

This has gotten good reviews in a number of places on Reddit and is a decent price that's not a bank breaker since the Eagle isn't doing it for you

It's a butane torch lighter; and I have located this lighter that's close to the on screen unit used. Best of luck on your search!

u/noodlebug_22 · 3 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

To anyone who was wondering, I found it in a different color on amazon. Here ya go!

u/siacn · 3 pointsr/cigars

So I was googling the lighter and I see it's sold for $49.00 from CI on their site, or for $14.92 by CI on Amazon. Which I found a bit funny.

So the lighter is worth 15 bucks for those who were wondering.

My favorites, if I could only buy one it would be the Vapman:

About $53 on Amazon. Not Prime eligible at that price but the seller offers free shipping.

Not wind or waterproof; better off with something like this. Still if I could carry just one fire starter, it'd be a ferro rod.

u/outdatedboat · 2 pointsr/vaporents

This is my personal favorite mini torch that I've owned/used. It holds quite a bit of butane, can put out a ton of heat if you have it wide open, and the neck swivels so it can either be a straight tube, or have a bent neck.

u/The_Juggler17 · 2 pointsr/PipeTobacco

I use a Xikar Oldboy style lighter

Xikar makes lots of similar models, so I don't mean to suggest only this one, but any lighter of a similar model. These "oldboy" lighters are specifically made for pipes, their flint ignition is reliable (and can be replaced by typical zippo flints)

.

I've tried some of the less expensive Piezzo style lighters (around $20) and all of them eventually stopped working, the ignition failed over time.

These fancy lighters are a little expensive (don't buy anything over $100) but for the money I wasted trying several kinds of cheap pipe lighters, I could have bought one good one. Being cheap sometimes costs a lot of money.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GAES9TY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I also own this exact lighter, but it gets much less use since for some reason the entire thing gets hot (up to about 120 F after 2 capfuls)

hell nah it makes me gripe when i see people using fucking creme brulee torches on a bowl. so unnecessarily extra. go to the damn gas station or smoke shop and grab a cheap handheld torch or spend a couple extra dollars and get like an eagle torch or something. guy down below me has the idea.

i have a few of these from the smoke shop: https://www.amazon.com/Eagle-Single-Lighter-Windproof-Assorted/dp/B07778DFP3

and one of these are in the rotation now: https://www.amazon.com/Scorch-Torch-Refillable-Matador-Cigarette/dp/B00OC00ESC

u/bl0odredsandman · 2 pointsr/flashlight

I've been smoking for like 15 years and have carried a lighter on me everyday. Not once has one blown up or have I ever worried about one blowing up. If you're worried about normal gas lighters, then just get one of these electric lighters.. The are rechargable via a micro usb on the bottom. They are thin and I carry one in the side pocket on my boot just in case I lose my normal lighter, I have a backup. Just stick a piece of paper in the middle of the electric arc and bam, fire.

u/Fake_Engineer · 2 pointsr/Dynavap

Personally I like the Vertigo triple flame myself. It works great. The jets look like a mini rocket launching when is use. And it does well for my hands which have some arthritis issues. An IH is nice as well. O just dig torches personally.

It's what I've used daily with my sticky brick runt since May. Zero issues, has worked flawlessly. For the dynavap, it works well outside in windy conditions.

u/oaschbeidl · 2 pointsr/Dynavap

I'd recommend a triple flame torch with the button far away from the flames. Takes the heating time down to about 7 seconds for the first cycle and about 5 seconds for the following ones. I've got one of these (different company, but they look exactly the same).

Or if you don't wanna go through that much butane, there's always induction heating (about 30-40 bucks if you DIY one).

Don't get discouraged by the bad results, once you figure that thing out, it's a beast!

u/OskuSnen · 2 pointsr/educationalgifs

It is a shame most cool lighters tend to me gasoline based. I personally really like the styling of this, and I used to have one, but it was a knockoff and the valve stopped functioning. I'm not sure if the real deal is any better quality though.

u/tokercoder · 2 pointsr/Dynavap

I like the single flame torch Troy uses with dynavaps on the 420vapezone videos and just ordered one -- it is metal so it's an extra surface that can be used to speed up the cooldown click. From the pics on amazon it appears that it will stand up on end, but I've only seen Troy lay it down flat. I'm not sure if is stable when stood on its' end or not. It looks comfortable to hold and not too big though. About $11.00 including shipping.

I wonder if there’s a torch that’s good enough and small enough to fit into a third hole....

[edit] it looks like the Aomai would, and people seem to really like them:

They’re <$3 from China, too. That’d make for a sweet stashbox, imho.

Just a heads up.. that lighter..Scorch torch

I'm fairly certain it's the EXACT same thing.. I bought it for cheap and i love it! considering i have some much more expensive lighters EVERYONE asks me where i got that one and the tri flame is crazy.

u/intr0v3rsion · 2 pointsr/vaporents

Thanks for the heads up. I was thinking of getting this one (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07K3ZHVWS/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=A22KTUTCR6O1Y9&psc=1) I saw a guy use on a video of the "M". It looked so unnoticeable in the video, mainly because this one allows you to burn the pen while it's vertical. Only downside is the single flame, which as you said, takes longer. What do you think about that? Thanks again. :)

u/_northernlights_ · 2 pointsr/Dynavap

I use this one. It's 12 bucks. I have been using it for the past 4 weeks, filling it with butane found at the hardware store (they sell it for wielding normally). I haven't had a single issue with it. The cap comes at temperature within seconds. And it looks good.

u/betamaleorderbride · 2 pointsr/Pipes

Is that the dual jet/ soft flame one? I just tossed out my 3rd one of those that died on me.

ZPlus makes a side opening soft flame butane I bought last week, we'll see how long that one lasts. My experience with these things is they're either DOA or they work for a month then just quit.

u/iusuallyjustlurk · 2 pointsr/vaporents

would you use single flame for both a sticky brick and dynavap vapcap?

any torch suggestions? I'm looking at these

You just buy a can of butane separately. Amazon has them for a good price.

I just got myself this lighter a few days ago. I really like it. It comes with two punch cutters built in.

I think there are regulations for bringing cutters and torches on flights so I'd look into that if your trip involves that

u/r3dreck · 2 pointsr/Ultralight

I have one of these for lighting my esbit. Makes it way easier to light... https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00C85NBBU/ref=pd_aw_sim_121_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=7YWTA38Z1KQVMKY40NY0

BTW love esbit

u/Pono_kai · 1 pointr/cigars

Ones similar to this are recommended a lot on this sub.

Some people like Xikar lighters because the lifetime warranty.

I've used both of these for a couple of years without any problems.

u/LiarWithTheAce · 1 pointr/vaporents

Scorch Torch Dual Flame great lighter, I've had it for about 2 weeks and have had no problems so far refilling it or with it lighting consistently.

If anyone does buy that lighter though make sure you use a small nail or screwdriver to depressurize it right when you get it, and before trying to fill or use it. Otherwise you'll defect the lighter like I did with the first one I got, luckily they come with a life-time warranty when bought from amazon or ebay so after a few messages back and forth to customer service I was able to get a new one sent to me to replace the defective one.

u/feintidea · 1 pointr/vaporents

I've never had to replace flint before so I'm a little hesitant. What's the point? Is it easy? Is it better than say this?: https://www.amazon.com/Mantello-Catador-Triple-Cigarette-Lighter/dp/B01M6C8F34/ref=pd_sbs_229_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=RM54JZ46MCH9KWF02B3G

haha glad I could help.

1 last piece of advice: Get a butane lighter. You don't need to get a full on torch, something like this will work just fine. Vapcaps work a lot better with a butane lighter than they do with a standard bic or zippo.

Oh, and the lower on the cap you apply the heat, the hotter the chamber gets and the more vapor is produced.

Happy toking!

They have great capacity and just plain work well

u/beasthoss · 1 pointr/Dynavap

These Eagle Single Flame Torches are really good for indoor/at home but they're big and bulky, not good for putting in your pocket.

I like this Cohiba Triple Flame Torch for taking out because its pretty small and triple torch for quickness.

u/winfinite · 1 pointr/CanadianMOMs

https://www.amazon.ca/Lighter-Grinding-Butane-Windproof-Cigarette/dp/B01LJBINES - have this coming in, the dynavap recommended lighter apparently.

(I bought it from fasttech for like 8 dollars and used canada post e-parcel for faster delivery but if you can't wait it can be had for the low price of 86 dollars on Amazon)

u/Jallfo · 1 pointr/cigars

Yea mine is slightly different, though. Here is the one I got: http://www.amazon.com/Bugatti-B-1-Torch-Lighter-Gunmetal/dp/B007W1CRXS

u/Autonomoose · 1 pointr/cigars

You can use a zippo (I'd only use it temporarily while waiting for your torch to come in). Don't let the flame touch it, and maybe let a burn a bit before a full draw. it may still have some flavor, but it will fade. As for a cheap replacement torch I just use these guys..

u/Anonymous_Eponymous · 1 pointr/vaporents

I just got this lighter. So far, I really like it, and it seems to be much better quality than I'd expect for $12. I've been using Colibri butane because it's what I've got.

u/123woah8910 · 1 pointr/trees

It's a normal bic lighter in a lighter case - specifically this one from Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00S8IWE7I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_YbaavbMC9Noqx

It stores hemp wick, has a little tube that holds it right up to the flame. Some kinds of these have a tamper function too, but this one doesn't.

u/nooshaw · 1 pointr/vaporents

I have the Zico T-38. Single flame but heats up my Ti and M pretty quickly. Haven't combusted anything with it yet.

https://www.amazon.com/ORIGINAL-Refillable-Butane-Adjustable-Lighter/dp/B00IODCC6K

u/WhippingTheLammasASS · 1 pointr/vaporents

You would probably enjoy a smaller torch than those flambé style torches.

Everything on dynavap's website is solid. I guess amazon considers them 'torch/cigar lighters', so something like this or this. I haven't tried either of those, but just trying to give you a reference.

You can actually check out your local smoke shops for them too. However, they usually don't have as big of selection and can be a little more expensive. Aliexpress is would also be a good place to check out, if you don't mind 1 month boat shipping.

u/StorminNorvin · 1 pointr/PipeTobacco

I have been going through this as well. I bought a new Zippo with the pipe insert. It works, but I hate the lighter fluid taste. I recently ordered a Z-Plus butane pipe insert which works well, but I light with my left hand as I have a bad right hand. It can be done left-handed with practice. These butane inserts are geared more to right-handed people, but work great and do not have the lighter fluid taste thanks to using butane instead:

https://smile.amazon.com/Z-Plus-Pipe-Flame-Insert-Lighters/dp/B00P2NA37A/

Additionally, lighter fluid in a Zippo will evaporate. Butane will not unless you have a leak.

u/insaneferret · 1 pointr/3Dprinting

One of These butane torches is great for instantly burning away fine stringing on models.

u/Tinman1911 · 1 pointr/guns

Actually, for that application I'd spring for something like this:

http://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Survival-Technologies-Floating-Lighter/dp/B00C85NBBU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1453228843&sr=8-1&keywords=Waterproof+lighter

Also, be aware I've had the fuel boil out of lighters over time from heat, and on one occasion had the interior of my car get hot enough to detonate one, scattering its plastic bits all over the passenger cab.

u/matthewdtwo · 1 pointr/arduino

I picked up one of these for a cardboard battlebot and I'm able to actuate it with a 9g servo, metal linkage, and some hot glue.

u/practicaluser · 1 pointr/DMT

That's a precarious lighter to use - why not dial it back to something more practical / less likely to start a fire when you drop off the face of the Earth:

These are cheap and practical - most variations of this lighter work ideal with the GVG

FWIW: That torch strikes me as overkill. Vapor Genie's how-to manual specifically says torches tend to burn too hot (and if it's too hot for THC, its definitely too hot for DMT.)

u/arrjaytea · 1 pointr/vaporents

For cheap guys, I have two of these in my tackle / camping bags at all times. The flame is small enough to actually avoid the wind but not too small for a VapCap.

Ascent Single Jet Torch Flame Cigar and Cigarette Lighter Warranty Green https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KIWYPHI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_T7bZzbMRR2RZD

I keep one of these at the cottage to use outside. The angle is nice, and it’s one of the most reliable lighters I’ve ever owned. Definitely not as pocketable.

Scorch Torch Matador Single Jet Flame Butane Torch Cigarette Cigar Lighter (Gunmetal) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OC00ESC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_J9bZzb604PTJ9

But in reality the best pocket torch for a VapCap I’ve ever owned is the Honest Torch (probably easier to get from PIU than Amazon).

Gogil 1Pcs HONEST 1300'C Butane Jet Lighter Torch Random Color NO GAS https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074W5HYTR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_--bZzbP2N8GK2

Fits in the pocket and shockingly reliable.

Important to note: properly purging any of these before filling is crucial to reliability. Allowing air in the lines is a fast way to making any butane torch super susceptible to wind.

u/senselessaggression · 1 pointr/vaporents

The flame on that one looks like it gets to a good enough length for the brick, I can’t tell the flame width that well in pictures though. If the torch comes and the flame is as wide as your honest brand one, I’d say eventually get the Eagle torch. I mean, $5.88 free shipping?

https://www.amazon.com/Eagle-Lighter-Adjustable-Windproof-Refillable/dp/B0167JYC5G/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?keywords=big+eagle+torch+lighter&qid=1571617473&sprefix=Big+eagle&sr=8-2&utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

Maybe you could find a game both would enjoy playing with each other and send it to them on steam. Fallout 4 is awesome but eventually they will be looking to play something else. Rocket League is a pretty hot topic lately I hear and it's fairly inexpensive and multiplayer.

If you want something non-digital, maybe a cool Pocket Torch for the outdoorsy one and a massage or something similar for the homebody who's been stressed lately? Just some ideas, hope I helped.

It heats up in about 7-10 seconds and works really well. My only complaint is that I have to refill it often because of the small tank. It looks pretty sleek though.
