(Part 2) Best mac games & accessories according to redditors
We found 771 Reddit comments discussing the best mac games & accessories. We ranked the 156 resulting products by number of redditors who mentioned them. Here are the products ranked 21-40. You can also go back to the previous section.
There's the GPD XD and the JXD s192. Shield portable is probably not a good buy today. For one, it's been discontinued for ages, but also, it only supports a fairly old GLES spec, which hurts its emulation capabilities (limiting N64 quality, and it can't play Saturn via uoYabause at all).
And tablets aren't necessarily out, as there's the Ipega PG-9023 controller and the CamRom Telescopic controller / BTC-938 / Saitake STK-7003, etc (it's got several names/brands).
I own both of those and they're solid gamepads. Here's my Shield tablet setup with the Ipega.
For further responses, I'd suggest defining what you would call "a fortune."
I've not personally tried it yet, but have heard some great things about it:
8Bitdo SN30 Pro+
Check this out. I have one. It’s pretty rad.
Micro Arcade Tetris https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QC8DYTJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_LrErDb4YC6AH5
The 8BitDo SN30 Pro+ sounds exactly like what you’re looking for. It just released so it might be worth waiting to see what others say about it
Mine is coming tomorrow and I can let you know my first impressions if you like
Edit: I completely forgot about the adapters to use a DS4 controller that someone else mentioned. That’s probably the best route!
You can literally do all of that on a Mac, even play COD.

Looks like it's just their take on the telescopic bluetooth controllers you can buy currently. Most of them are crap from no-name Chinese companies, so it seems like this will take that idea and do it with Xbox branding and proper build quality.
Blue switch version available for $47.24:

Sadly not. The analog sticks are treated as a d-pad essentially. They become digital, so no fine movement. Also, the adapter costs almost $40 on Amazon, when you can get this for a couple of more dollars, and it has working analog sticks and blutooth.

It actually works on iOS now! I used the controller on my iPhone XR for Steam Link (everything works near flawless except the Guide & Select (minus) button which is odd. https://www.reddit.com/r/8bitdo/comments/dk8p0x/how_to_pair_an_8bitdo_controller_with_iosipados/
Are we sure this is a steam code? There is a similar deal at Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Call-Duty-Modern-Warfare-Download/dp/B004YNEEG0/) but I don't know if that is a Steam key either.
I have a Logitech F310. If you like Sony's dual shock controllers, it's pretty similar. Not quite as anemic as the Sixaxis was but it's light and feels good in the hands. Some of the games you mentioned are made to be used with Xinput, which is the standard that Microsoft made for the Xbox controller on PCs. The F310 I mentioned is an Xinput controller.
Otherwise, you can basically buy any controller you want and also get a USB converter for it. There are even straight up USB knock off verions of Nintendo Controllers. They aren't great, though. More of a look-alike than a true replacement. Best to stick with the real thing if you have it.

For gaming, I've used:
AKG K52, K1000, Q701; Audeze LCD-2 Classic; Audio-Technica ATH-AD700X, AD2000X (w/ MrSpeakers Alpha pads); Beyerdynamic DT990 Edition (600 Ω); Creative Aurvana Live!; Denon AH-D7200; HiFiMan HE400i, HE-500 (w/ ZMF Ori lambskin pads), HE-560 V2; HyperX Cloud II; Massdrop x Koss Porta Pro X; Monoprice Modern Retro, Monolith M1060; Philips Fidelio X2, SHP9500 (w/ Shure HPAEC1840 pads); Sennheiser HD580, HD598 SR, HD700, HD800; Sivga SV007; Stax SR-L300; Superlux HD662 EVO, HD668B (w/ Brainwavz velour pads), HD669, HD681 EVO (w/ Brainwavz velour pads); Tritton Pro+; and Turtle Beach Ear Force XP Seven.
My go-to recommendation is Sivga SV007 (Walnut) with V-MODA BoomPro. If you need sound isolation, then I suggest Status Audio CB-1.
If you're open to using a mic such as Antlion ModMic or Massdrop Minimic, then I have other headphone recommendations and suggestions.
For virtual surround sound, you can use Astro MixAmp Pro TR, Creative Sound Blaster G6, or Turtle Beach Elite Pro TAC. I recommend SBX Pro Studio (Creative) over Dolby Headphone (Astro and Turtle Beach) because it has less compression and more accurate positional audio.

Setup
---
You attach the BoomPro mic by inserting it directly into the headphone, which replaces the original headphone cable.
The cable terminates in a single 3.5 mm connector, so you can connect it directly to the controller or any other device with a headset jack, like the Mixamp, Sound Blaster G6, and Pro TAC. If you connect it to a regular headphone jack, then the mic won't work. No mics will. If the device only has separate headphone and mic ports, then you need to use a TRRS Y-splitter, which is included with the BoomPro.

Sound
---
SV007:
SV007 a well-balanced sound profile. The mid-bass, which is where boom and punch come from, is a little bit boosted. The sub-bass, which is how deep the bass goes and is where rumble comes from, is a little bit reduced. The overall bass is clean. The treble is close to neutral. It's clean, smooth, and crisp. The midrange is clear, not tinny or muffled. The overall clarity is great.
It has a large soundstage, very good imaging and separation, and good to very good detail retrieval for competitive shooters. I assess headphones mainly in Battlefield: Bad Company 2, a multiplayer game I've played for over 3000 hours and I thrive at relying on sound cues.
Soundstage is perceived space and environment of sound. It's width, depth, and height. I talk about the type of soundstage that the headphone produces. Many games have a narrow, shallow, and short soundstage. A small soundstage makes the environment around you sound confined or boxed in. With a large soundstage, the environment sounds more spatial and expansive. You can't comprehend it without experiencing it. Imaging is inherent to the audio content. It's how accurately the locations of sounds/objects are reproduced. Soundstage and imaging constitute positional audio, and you could say they are the stereo equivalent of virtual surround sound. Before you make any stances on virtual surround sound, I recommend that you read this post I wrote. Separation is how you discern individual sounds from a range of overlapping sounds.
BoomPro:
You can actually judge for yourself by listening to recordings on YouTube.
I prefer to watch Podcastage for mic reviews.

Build, ergonomics, & features
---
SV007:
SV007 has an open design (as you can see with the grills on the earcups), so sound passes freely in and out, unlike closed headphones which attenuate sound from passing through. The benefits of an open design are generally a larger soundstage and better imaging. If your ears tend to heat up, it may help mitigate this as it allows more airflow and heat to dissipate.
The build is sturdy and lightweight, featuring metal yokes, hinges, and headband. It has no flimsy or squeaky parts. The cups are made of wood. They tilt and swivel and can lie flat. I have average sized ears and the earpads fit around them and don't press them against the inside of the cups. The pads are plush and have a smooth and relatively high-quality protein leather. The headband has decent padding, but the headphone has great weight distribution so it doesn't exert pressure on top of my head and doesn't cause hotspots. Adjusting the headband is smooth and easy and it stays firmly in place. The clamping force is mild and isn't too loose or too tight for my average sized head. The build quality is excellent with a near immaculate finish all around.
BoomPro:
BoomPro has a flexible aluminum neck and a tangle-free, braided cable that's free of microphonics. The game volume and mic mute controls are easy to adjust and don't accidentally adjust themselves when rubbing against your clothes. Adjusting them is smooth and consistent, not scratchy, sluggish, or sticky. The mic is as non-obtrusive as a boom mic can be and is almost unnoticeable in my peripheral vision.

I like the 8Bitdo SN30 Pro Plus: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01ND166P6/
I've never heard of that subreddit but I went to it and found it for $7.17 but I believe it's for Mac. Do you (or anyone else) know if this will work on PC?
Edit: Also $5 on Newegg for a Mac code
From a review: "Pros: Works on Steam

Answered I guess, thanks for the link to gamedeals.
Does anyone have experience with the Beboncool Q39? It appears to be relatively new, but all of the Amazon reviews are positive. Since those are not always the most reliable, does anyone here have experience with this controller?

You’d need a USB adapter to plug the wavebird receiver into to begin with
This is what I did. No interest in carrying my K95 back and forth from home to the office, so I bought one of these:
https://www.amazon.com/DREVO-Wireless-Bluetooth-Mechanical-Switch-Black/dp/B01N6GBIOI
Not too big, wireless if I ever need to travel with it and I got it with Blues. People can definitely hear it, but I never had anyone actively complain.
Though if you don't mind waiting for them to come back in stock. I recently replaced it with one of these:
https://kono.store/products/nightfox-mechanical-keyboard
Comes with a nice hard case for transport back and forth. No click like the blues, but feels like really smooth and very compact so I can drag it around with me.
There was an official port of COD4 though. It was a pretty good port as well.
Available on Mac/Windows. I've actually got a copy (Mac) that I've never played before, might be fun!
Surprisingly, the Mac version is not ridiculously expensive, in fact it's the same as the Windows version -- $19.99. However, it's more elsewhere, so buy through Amazon.
$6.50!!!
I had the same question earlier when E3 was going on. At E3 they were using Plantronics RIG Stereo Gaming Headsets. They look to be the same thing in the video you linked.
This is probably the best you're going to get.
Okay i'm definitely drunk or something this morning. There is no sale. My bad.
Still, the price is lower than ordering it from US.
EDIT : Okay, that's because I saw this one first and it threw me off...

I am hyped for KH3, that game play trailer!!!
Also I agree, Nintendo has me hyped. The switch has been the only console ever I have gotten at launch and preordered. I don't regret getting it all all. There's been some minor hiccups with the system but nothing major. Multiplayer is a little hard with only the joycons. My boyfriend and I initially picked up only one pro controller but we are looking to get one more. We're actually probably going to get this instead of a second pro controller.
Everything I've read about adapting Sony controllers to a tablet basically say that you will always get some lag due to the bluetooth version conversion that has to happen. The only successful way I've been satisfied with using a Sony controller on a tablet is by doing this DIY. That only works though if you don't need analog.
To answer your question though, I've been using the 8Bitdo F30 controller. It's basically a bluetooth SNES controller with a couple extra analog sticks, but because of how thin it is my hands start cramping after an hour or two. That's why I'm probably going to get the SN30 Pro+ later this year when it realeases. It looks like it is going to be comparable to holding a PS or Wii Pro controller.
As far as input lag, the way I use the tablet, the controller and tablet are never more than 2 ft away from each other, but usually they are about 6-10 inches apart. At that distance I don't notice any lag at all. I did some testing of it a while back though, and I can sometimes kinda notice a little bit of lag every now and then starting at 6 ft but at that distance I have trouble seeing detail on the screen anyway. I do have an older tablet (about 6 yrs old), so part of the lag is probably due to the tablet using an older version of bluetooth.
Build quality wise, I would say that the 8Bitdo controllers are on par with the big 3's controllers. I toss mine in my messenger bag and haven't broken it in the 2 years I've had the controller. It does have lower profile analog sticks than most controllers though, and I know that bothers some people. It has a better battery life than any Sony or Microsoft controller that I've used, but battery life still doesn't compare to to the Wii U Pro controller.
Can anyone help me tell which mixamp is better for gaming?
I have a set of turtle beach elite pro headsets and was planning on buying the tactical audio controller for it, but from what I've read people like the ASTRO gaming MixAmp Pro TR better and I'm not sure why. They seem to do the same thing... here's the link to the things I'm talking about
https://www.amazon.com/ASTRO-Gaming-MixAmp-Pro-Xbox-One/dp/B014H2YSEK/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1492898553&sr=8-1&keywords=3AM99-XOU9Y-975

Here's a decent looking one. Wireless, RGB LED, and of course, mechanical switches!
I'm not sure what price range you're looking for, but the plantronics rig headset may be solid for what you're looking for. You'll need to buy a digital optical cable as well to hook it up to the ps4 audio, but it allows for selection of one or both audio sources and dynamic volume controls for both audio sources.

https://www.amazon.com/Telescopic-Wireless-Bluetooth-Controller-CA1042ZR/dp/B01DZR5WJI
Telescopic controllers seem to be the ones that can fit around the sides of a phone / tablet, and overall can create a better form factor (imo) for gaming and portability than sticking a phone clip onto the top of a controller.

It appears to be some sort of volume controller, I've seen the players adjusting interacting with the large knob. It's difficult to tell from the pictures, but at the top of the device there are multiple level indicators that bounce up and down independently and at the bottom there are colorful backlit buttons. It appears to be some sort of audio mixer.
The closest I've found is Turtle Beach's Elite Pro Tactical Audio Controller, but I can't find anything similar that looks like what the players have.

Im looking for a wireless headset for my PC. It will be used for music, gaming and voice communication. From reading tests and reviews i found the Afterglow Prismatic Wireless right inside my budget. Now some reviews mentioned that the sound quality would be better on the Dolby 5.1 counterpart. Im not sure if i should spend the 80 bucks extra or if im off completely with my choice. Maybe someone else has a recommendation for me.
Budget: First goal was 100€ but im now at 150€ with a hard limit of 180€
Source: Laptop and PC, preferably compatible with phone
Requirements for Isolation: None, will be used mostly at home.
Preferred Type of Headphone: Either fullsized or On-Ear
Preferred tonal balance: Bass and Mid-range i guess
Past headphones: Logitech G330 2x, both failed due to cable failure and one even broke from wearing. Since then i used what i had at home, until i bought a headset from the 1€ store for 5 bucks.
Preferred Music: Metal, Rock, Punk, Instrumental, little bit of Techno, Voice and Video
Location: Germany (current Exchange Rate 1€ = 1,3887$)
I would suggets the G600 or the Razer Naga They have plenty of buttons and the sensors are great for what you are doing, plenty of dpi customizations. The Naga is often on sale for under 50 and there is a chroma verson
Oh, I guess if you're looking for a MMO mouse, the sensor is less important. Just get something with lots of buttons. You can get a Razer Naga on Amazon right now for $43. It's a really ugly shade of green, but I've heard that the side buttons feel really good.

I wouldn't risk it, and there are cheaper options with more ports (such as this one).

I ended up getting the this beboncool contoller instead. The glap was waaay too pricey/bulky for me. Surprisingly it fits my note 10+ with a slim case on. Super comfortable too. Also I hate the name glap lol. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07T4JXVJL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_7fhGDbWTSYBJX
This one looks very good..I now you mentioned no surround sound, but but looking at the questions on Amazon.. Looks like it will plug into the optical port on the xbox one. I might have to put up with all the electrical waves going to my head for this one.. :)

Question: Does surround sound work on ps4 & xbox one?
Answer: Short answer: yes
Long answer: The headphones come with a USB receiver and an optical cable that plug into the console. The Xbox one and original PS4 have optical slots but the PS4 slim does NOT have one. The headphones come with a small and easy to follow instruction booklet to help with the set up.
By Trevor on January 7, 2017
I only have an x-box one but it does work there.
By M Cashman on January 10, 2017
If you have a PS4 slim, get a longer optical cable and hook it to your TV. Your PS4 Slim will send audio to TV via HDMI, then the TV will send it to the receiver by optical instead.

Personally, I think the more expensive one is better. There's also a shit ton more out there.

Holy shit, hadn't been there in a few years, its products are expensive and shit now.
I've had really good results with a similar controller.
https://smile.amazon.com/BEBONCOOL-Controller-Triggers-Wireless-Bluetooth/dp/B07Q1WVZNZ/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=beboncool&qid=1558020689&s=electronics&sr=1-1
Regarding 1) You've got basically three choices that I can think of.
A) You're going to need to use a custom PCB and build the controls yourself
B) You take apart a USB controller and use those PCBs and all the hardware from that controller to build a control yourself. This is similar to the first, but all the hardware is in one place and a little easier to get your hands on.
C) Just use an external Bluetooth or USB controller. There are some pretty decent ones that should work with the Pi and are designed to be used with a Phone or Tablet, so won't look bad at all if you mount a Pi with screen to them. Something like this one.
Regarding 3) There are tons of screens available up to 7 or 10 inches. Just have a look at aliexpress or ebay. You could even recycle an old tablet screen into an HDMI monitor. Sound is even easier, since the Pi has a 3.5mm audio out jack. All you need to do is wire a couple piezo speakers and a small 5v amp into the audio out jack, or alternatively get a audio Hat for the Pi that has an amp built in (this may be an issue if you get a Screen that plugs into the GPIO).
I got this Seagate 8tb drive last black Friday for around $120 and it works great with my Xbox.
Also the Astros a50s are awesome. My wife bought me the Master Chief Editionwhen we first started dating 3 years ago and they still work great.
Astro A10sare also awesome. She wanted a pair of Astros last year as she plays with me but on a smaller TV. The a10s only require a wire going from the headset to the controller and they work great.
Edit-links
Sorry for the follow up question, but do you know why THESE are near £100 cheaper? I had a look, and Xbox versions can be used on PS4 too.
You sure can but you might have a hard time locking on, gesturing, and jumping
But hell, you could even use an N64 controller or skip the adapter and buy one with USB. You can also do that with the GC controller!
If you're literally insane you could get an Atari Jaguar controller for PC
Yeah, but I was asking specifically about that headset. He didn't really give me a clear answer as to "why", and was quite aggressive towards me. I have a gaming headset I paid $25 for and they have pretty good sound quality and a feature I'm pretty sure I can't get elsewhere.

Gamecube controllers can be connected via and adapter, but the official adapters have been sold out for a while. There is more being made for sale in December according to Nintendo Japan, but we dont know if theyll come back to the West too.
Gamecube controllers work great for Smash Bros and Mario Kart, as the missing buttons are not a hindrance, but they are in other games.
Get yourself a Pro controller for single player games.
Wii and Wii U controllers can be connected to the switch via various adapters, but its always 1 controller per adapter. So its not a super cost effective means of adding controllers.

So, I bought a while ago this controller: Gamecube PC
I could use it with Dolphin properly. Now I have bought a Steam Controller. In order to use the Steam Controller with Dolphin I followed this
I managed to get the Steam Controller working, but now I can't use both at the same time.
Steam Big Picture recognises both of my controllers: Photo and I can use SBP properly with both of them. But now I can't configure a second game cube controller in Dolphin.
Am I missing something? I have googled the problem quite a bit and I couldn't find anything.
I hope I have explained myself properly.
Thanks for your time and answers.
The Xbox One controller is a great option. To throw another out there, take a look at the 8Bitdo SN30 Pro+ and phone clip. 8Bitdo has made solid controllers for a while and this is their first "full size" controller.
I've been playing BL as well. You need to get this controller its AMAZING

I need help trying to find some switches. I have cheap 60% from Amazon and I'm looking to get some new switches for it. Here is the actual keeb: https://www.amazon.com/Mechanical-Instago-Multi-color-Illuminated-Programmable/dp/B07S3DJBCZ/ref=sr_1_1?m=A1Q8NOYWRQ9ICZ&marketplaceID=ATVPDKIKX0DER&qid=1572395503&s=merchant-items&sr=1-1&th=1. I would like to get some brown switches for it but for the life of me I cannot find brown, hot-swappable, Gateron optical switches! If anyone would know of a place to find them it would be greatly appreciated! Also, I'm purchasing in the US if that matters.
Not sure if you're interested in a clone but I can vouch for this one I got from Amazon, it works great. Never ran into any issues with it. For only $10 it's a steal

I'm not sure about any previous generations, but the Gen2 XBox One A50s sound great. They may be a little overpriced, but I decided to get them because I thought they also looked good (http://www.amazon.com/ASTRO-Gaming-A50-Xbox-One-Halo/dp/B00NY5ZO0Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1420575255&sr=8-1&keywords=a50+halo)

Extremely comfy for long sessions, not very heavy. Great audio controls, awesome sound mixer. Look badass. Expensive yes, but if you have the disposable income they are pretty badass.

Im looking for a new gamepad and this one caught my eye. I have a Galaxsy S10+. Does anyone have any experience with this gamepad? It also looks alot like this Beboncool gamepad too:

I got the Razer Naga recently and I can't believe I went this long without a proper gaming mouse. The only reason I took a chance and bought it was because of the deal Amazon had on it. If you can deal with the green color, it's a great mouse at only $43

Lucid Sound LS40 (or its little brother LS30).
I absolutely do recommend these. They are wireless, sound really good and look really good. They work for both PC and the newest consoles, so you can use them for everything. The microphone is also detachable, so you can take it of when not chatting.
Nice! I've had the exact same idea, but my order of Ipega 9055 got cancelled, so I've had to order that, instead:

Someone in the comments of that said it's better built than the Ipega 9023/9055, so here's hoping.
What about the cooling capabilities of the GPD, does it take a hit?
Sure. I have the ipega 9083 and this beboncool controller https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07PQTKLRN?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
i was about to get these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LXZECA6/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A29PHU0KPCGV8S&psc=1

Bought the drevo calibur yesterday and I do not like it, it’s really loud and not as comfortable to type on as I expected. Should I return it and go with the corsair strafe with mx cherry silent switches? The drevo is my first mechanical keyboard before this I used the wireless apple one. I will use it for mainly typing but I am planning to build a pc for gaming so if I go through with that I’ll also use it for gaming. Thanks!
Edit: I recorded the sounds: Sound test
First and Third sound is the mechanical one and second and fourth is Apple one.
It's really worth picking up a MMO Gaming Mouse. For instance the Razor Hydra. Logitech also makes a MMO mouse, it's similar, and cheaper. but the Hydra is a really sturdy. You get what you pay for. All around it's a good gaming mouse.
With my Hydra, I can play TSW without using the keyboard. When I do use the keyboard I have full movement like playing a FPS.The number pad require no learning curve, no configuration. I went from stumbling around trying to push the right button to hammering out solid attack patterns without really paying any attention.
FYI bestbuy also sells the hydra. They have the wireless with color changing LEDs. Personally I like the corded version. It's cheaper, and there no charging to worry about. Plus the mouse is lighter.
I have the LucidSound and it works well
