Have you heard of the Flintstone graphic novel by Russeel & Pugh?

Youth In Revolt by C.D. Payne. (Ignore the movie.)
Is it a classic? Nope. But you're looking to get back into reading, and personally, I would think that the best way to do so would be to read something entertaining. I read it when I was 18 and thought it was funny as hell. Laughed out loud multiple times.
If you want something with a bit more fantasy, try The Princess Bride by William Goldman. The only time I ever faked sick in high school was because I wanted to keep reading this book.

I bought the guidebook when the game first came out and I really enjoyed reading through it. Good quality hardback with plenty of lore about the world. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1616558091/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Yes, in fact you can already pre-order it!
https://www.amazon.com/Bloodborne-Collection-Ales-Kot/dp/1785863444/
Sure thing!
Unfortunately there is nothing for Snake Eater :-/
are you familiar with this? https://www.amazon.com/Metal-Gear-Solid-Omnibus-Oprisko/dp/1600106633
The "Orphan Black" series was released first. It contains five mostly stand-alone issues with each focusing on a single clone. They can be purchased as five single issues or as one trade paperback which will combine all five into book. Here's a link to digital versions of both. Here's a link to the print version of the trade.
The "Orphan Black:Helsinki" series was released second. It contains five issues that tell the story of the Helsinki protocol mentioned in the show. Currently, they can be purchased only as five single issues. The trade paperback is forthcoming. Here's a link to digital versions of the single issues. Here's a link to pre-order the physical trade.
I would suggest reading them in printed order because issue five of the first series sets up issue one of the second series.
https://www.amazon.com/Witcher-Adult-Coloring-Book/dp/1506706371 I hope this helps.
In my opinion:
Revoltech Mini Cyborg Ninja
Revoltech Big Boss
FOXHOUND Tee Shirt
Metal Gear Solid: Omnibus
Hopefully a couple of these appeal to you! I own all except the Mini Cyborg Ninja, which I hope to get soon.
When I was 17, my two favorite books were 'The Catcher in the Rye' and 'Cat's Cradle'. But as you've been reading since you were three, you've probably read them both.
If you want to have a lot of laughs, I highly recommend 'Youth in Revolt' by C.D. Payne.
http://www.amazon.com/Youth-Revolt-Journals-Nick-Twisp/dp/0385481969
It's by far the funniest book I've ever read.
And if you want to read the very best piece of storytelling ever, then 'The Count of Monte Cristo', Robin Buss translation, Penguin Classics is for you.
http://www.amazon.com/Count-Monte-Cristo-Penguin-Classics/dp/0140449264/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1333655060&sr=1-1
What are you waiting for? They're one click away.
Hey awesome and thanks for contributing so much to help make this game for us we all owe people like you!
On another note, I am really interested in the "Art Book". My question is (to those who may know) is it the same as the "Guide Book" sold on Amazon? http://www.amazon.com/Pillars-Eternity-Guidebook-Volume-One/dp/1616558091
First trade is already out!
Their guide book is precisely what you're looking for:
>Packed with never-before-seen art and in-depth lore, this is the definitive encyclopedia of the acclaimed new video game from Obsidian Entertainment!
>Having broken records with its hugely successful Kickstarter campaign, Pillars of Eternity meets modern technology with the beloved traditions of roleplaying games, introducing a breathtaking new fantasy world. Every monster, every faction, every deity, and everything in between are covered within the pages of this tome, all accompanied by luscious illustrations.
>Please note, this is not a strategy guide.
Buy the comics or the trade paper back?
http://www.amazon.com/Samurai-Jack-Volume-Jim-Zub/dp/1613778945
There are two Raymond Benson novels (MGS1, MGS2) then there's the one by Project Itoh for MGS4 (which I heard is really good).
There's also an artbook by Ashley Wood. Then there is the Metal Gear Solid Omnibus which is the comic series of MGS1 and MGS2 by a few writers with Ashley Wood's art. There's also the Deluxe Collection but it's pricey and I'm not exactly sure what makes it different from the Omnibus.
I think any Metal Gear Solid fan who doesn't own these would definitely appreciate them. I know I would.
Graphic novels:
There are also newer comics published by Titan:
Vol. 1 - "Trial By Fire"
Vol. 2 - "Setting Sun"
Vol. 3 - Homecoming
Vol. 1 - "Black Cross"
Vol. 2 - "Cross of War"
Vol. 1 - "Common Ground"
Vol. 2 - "Inflection Point"
Vol. 3 - "Finale"
And finally - Assassin's Creed Conspiracies. Originally a two-part comic in French, it has now been translated to English. Collected edition should be out on December 18th, 2018.
To those really arguing the historical merits of The Death of Stalin, there are two things to remember:
-It's a comedy, so they're obviously going to exaggerate or downplay aspects for comedic timing.
-The source material for the film is based off a French comic book, so the film was already pop history at its inception: https://www.amazon.com/Death-Stalin-Fabien-Nury/dp/1785863401
I just read the title and Ready Player One came to mind first. If you liked that style you should check out Youth in Revolt
Brutally funny, not video game related per say but Ready Player One reminded me of it.
Hero is just the game.
The other versions add digital goodies, no in-game stuff. So I'd suggest buying Hero, and then if you really like the game you can buy the upgrade DLC to one of the other editions.
Champion adds the soundtrack, a "campaign almanac"(basically, a PDF full of world lore), a digital map of the game world, the making-of documtentary, and some wallpapers and ringtones.
Royal has those, and adds a novella by Chris Avellone(PDF), a PDF of the guidebook(not a strategy guide), concept art, and a PDF of the Prima Strategy Guide.
I cant find complete sets of Buffy season 8 but here are some links:
Frey
Angel: After the Fall These are the canon comics of Angel: After the Fall. They did continue but were renamed to just Angel and the first volume is called Immortality for Dummies But as i said, this is not canon and Joss is not connected to this, AFAIK.
Spike: After the Fall
Spike: The Complete Series
And here i just searched for Buffy season 8 on amazon, you should be able to find all 8 issues here.
As i said, i just recently started gathering info about these comics, and i ordered all of this myself 1 week ago, aswell as this, which i couldnt find on amazon.
Willow: Godessess and Monsters
And here I sit, waiting for all of my comics to get here.
I bought some lore books on amazon a while back, I forget the names off the top of my head.
But they talked about the three main fractions.
book 1
book 2
art book ‘soft/ implied lore but nothing fancy’
I don’t own this, looks like a comic
"Shadow Puppets" is pretty cool, but it's also included in the IDW Spike Omnibus which, unless you're hellbent on getting a hardcover, gives you a lot more (mostly great) content for your money. In particular, it has Spike: Asylum, which I highly recommend.
I've read that "re-adaptation" (they used it as filler in one of the Angel Omnibuses), and it's just a shortened version of the episode with not-that-great unmoving pictures instead of live actors. So that's worth exactly nothing.
I can't say anything about "Mystery Date" except that it seems to be extracted from the Masks anthology. Maybe consider getting that one instead?
I don't know what exactly you're looking for or what you've read already, but the After the Fall series is actually pretty good. Or, if you're a Buffy fan too, the Tales or Fray are really awesome. They also lead up to (or, in the case of some of the Tales titles, are set during) Buffy season eight. Which, granted, isn't very good. But I hear it gets better in season nine.
Which versions of the games did you buy? You might have PDF copies of the guide books vol 1 and vol 2.
Look in your game install folder for extras.
Angel ATF was published by IDW, A&F is Dark Horse so definitely not. There are several editions of ATF that were released, including a premiere edition, a slipcase edition, and a hardcover edition
What kind of things do you like? If you want to read something hilarious then I'm going to say Youth in Revolt because I lost my shit when I read it. The movie doesn't even slightly do it justice and it makes me sad because they left out so much amazing shit.
No that’s Geralt.
here ya go
I think Google Play doesn't get all the issues and volumes immediately. Anyway, the third volume has recently been released, and it seems to be up on Amazon
Yeah, volume 1, vol 2 and vol 3 are available on Amazon. Each one focuses on a different member of the Shield.
I got the physically copy from amazon but you can get digital copies from comiXology

That's where I had gotten mine. I paid $12 for my 1st print issue 1, but it looks like they're gone now. On the plus side, you can still get issue 3 if you dont have it already. However they kind of take a long time to get your stuff to you.
Otherwise Amazon 2nd printing at around $18:

Amazon 1st printing around $26 and up:

And Amazon issue 2:

Gonna be pricey, but hopefully that helps!
Dude, Mayday is right down your alley. It just wrapped its first 5-issue arc a week or two ago, but the trade should be coming in a month or so. It's a 60's-era Cold War espionage thriller (plenty of counter-intelligence, covert ops, etc.). I enjoyed it quite a bit.
Also -- trust me here -- G.I. Joe: Cobra is REALLY good. It's a serious take on the franchise. Chuckles is on a covert ops mission to infiltrate Cobra, but it's grounded in realism (i.e. a rendezvous at a shady opium den in Afghanistan goes sideways and devolves into a small-arms shootout). I picked up with low expectations and got much more than I bargained for. It deals with some heavy subject matter, like PTSD, the emotional strain of warfare, etc.
https://www.amazon.com/G-I-Joe-Christos-N-Gage/dp/1600105351
Lastly, the Brubaker-era Captain America stuff is very good. Based on the Marvel titles you enjoyed, I think you would like this as well. There's plenty of intrigue, covert missions, rogue players, etc.
Just FYI, if you still want all of the comics, they now publish an Omnibus edition that covers MGS 1 & 2
Metal Gear Solid Omnibus on Amazon
Yup the first 4 are the only ones that really matter, the rest are just extra context or fun stories that don't really matter. I recommend getting Volumes 1-4 The Spike Tie-in and spikes own series After that start reading Buffy season 8, then Season 9 and Angel and Faith.
While the 2 spike books arnt written by Joss he commissioned Brian to write them for him so they do matter!
Everyone's making great suggestions. Sounds like we're about the same age, and if there's any chance you used to play GI Joes as a kid, I'd highly recommend COBRA by Gage, Costa, and Fuso. It's amazing. You'll want to pick up Vol. 1, 2, and 4. You can skip Vol. 3.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/1600105351/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_awd_x_f9.0xbDWVYXHH
Btw, how's your son liking the Star Wars comics?
They're sold in comic stores, but you can get them collected in trade paperbacks (multiple issues of comics bundled together) from anywhere that sells books.
Here is the first volume as sold on Amazon
https://www.amazon.com/WWE-Vol-1-Dennis-Hopeless/dp/160886944X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1549472606&sr=8-1&keywords=wwe+comic
And they have many collected volumes now of the main series, but collections of special issues like the ones that focus on different eras (Attitude/90s) or NXT. Lots to explore. You can see more here:
https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=wwe+comic
I would check with your local library, as they might carry some, many, or even all of these. My local library system is incredible at carrying comics.
Check out the Samurai Jack comic from IDW just a couple years back. Some high quality Jack action there.
Uhh...this one.
Vol. 1
Vol. 2
Vol. 3
The guidebook helped me a lot to understand the background of the world. It's possible the wikis and other areas have this same information, but I thought even just reading the intro of the guidebook made a huge difference for me, and it was much better organized. https://www.amazon.com/Pillars-Eternity-Guidebook-Horse-Books-ebook/dp/B00VCZPVIS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1492461940&sr=8-1&keywords=pillars+of+eternity+guidebook

Here you go. Amazon link
I just bought mine on Amazon.
Maybe Youth in Revolt by CD Payne? It's one of my favorite books!
Please don't judge it by the Michael Cera film version.
Here is the mobile version of your link
Volume 1 on Amazon.
I don't know what is or isn't canon, but I can't recommend this highly enough. Great comics, GI Joe or otherwise. There's multiple volumes and they're all so good.
https://www.amazon.com/G-I-Joe-Christos-N-Gage/dp/1600105351
Is there a difference between the Omnibus and the Deluxe Edition
If you're not a super serious collector type, I think all of the issues are in this collection.
https://www.amazon.com/Metal-Gear-Solid-Kris-Oprisko/dp/1613779992
Yes, read the book instead, it's hilarious!
http://www.amazon.com/Youth-Revolt-Journals-Nick-Twisp/dp/0385481969
This is my attitude towards The Death of Stalin. While I tend to have a prejudice against Western depictions of Soviet history, I found I enjoyed the original bandes-dessinée far more than the film adaptation. In the BD the comedy was rooted in the events surrounding Stalin's death, highlighting the absurdity of the whole situation. By contrast, the movie rooted its comedy in the characters, and by so doing turned them into clowns. (You can feel however you want about people like Molotov, Khrushchev, and Beria, but they were not clowns.) Additionally, the BD had a far better handle on how to integrate terror into the story without diluting its impact, and it also had little humanizing moments with the characters worrying about what is going to happen now that Stalin, the guiding force in their lives, their nation, and their whole worldview, is gone. The movie never knew how to make the Terror terrifying and omitted the humanizing moments entirely, and was the lesser for it.
Can anyone tell me the difference between these two?
They seem to be the same thing, except one has a additional issue, but somehow they both collect the entire comic apdatations of mgs1 and 2.
Googled around but been left unsure.
Also say if they are any good too, factor in that I love Metal Gear Solid too.
Youth in Revolt is an excellent, laugh-out-loud book that I loved when I first read it many years ago. I must mention, however, that many people consider it to be an inferior regurgitation of the older British Adrian Mole series.
There are a bunch of Rick and Morty comics, also Orphan Black had a few comics for a few of the characters and a prequel story called Helsinki.
Not only were there a ton of side story books but Buffy the Vampire Slayer also continued on in comic form after the show ended. Same for Angel.
