Fuck the athletic tape. Just use this stuff. https://www.amazon.com/Dr-Scholls-Moleskin-Padding-Count/dp/B007W9MGLI/ref=sr_1_2_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1526522185&sr=8-2&keywords=mole+skin

Stick it to the parts of your feet that rub against your boots, heel, big toe, second toe if you've got freaky feet. It's peel and stick and takes like 2.2 seconds to put on before you put on your socks. You can cut it to whatever shape you want to fit your foot better, but you don't need to be that accurate for it to work.

u/GreyReanimator · 14 pointsr/TheGirlSurvivalGuide

It's good to buy a pair of 2inch heels to wear every now and then to get used to them. That way when you want to wear the 4inch ones you are comfortable. But for now, just wear them around the house and vacuum. It's a great way to get used to them. When you walk keep your eyes up and stand up straight. Walk heel to toe! Try to walk on a line to get a good hip movement with your toes slightly pointing out. If your arch isn't touching buy some dr. Scholes heels inserts. They stick to the soul and give you more arch support. Also you must buy a roll of dr.scholes mole skin to cut up some pieces about bandaid size and keep in your purse to put on your skin when you get a blister. You WILL get blisters!

(The ball of foot pad is also good if it hurts there more then your arch)

I'm partial to moleskin with adhesive on the other side, myself. Admittedly more expensive, though.

u/FeastOfChildren · 9 pointsr/USMCboot

Moleskin bandages, it's for your feet.

Also Moleskin diary to pour your feelings into.

u/beachesatnormandy · 9 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

Have you tried moleskin ? I cover blisters or areas of concern and it normally prevents further pain.

You should be able to buy it at most pharmacies or big box stores.

Definitely a Screen Protector

A Travelling Case would be nice.

I also added Dr Scholls Moleskin to the front of my dock to reduce the risk of scratching the screen protector. (Two small strips on the parts inside the dock that are raised.)

A Memory Card also helps for the digital only games.

What color Switch did you get? I got the grey switch then bought a pair of Red Joycons and another pair of Blue Joycons. So in total I have a grey, red, and blue L Joycon and a grey, red, and blue R Joycon.

If you got the grey switch and then buy the [two color Joycon packs] (https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Joy-Con-Neon-Neon-Blue/dp/B01N6QJ58Y/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1493753597&sr=8-2&keywords=blue+joycons) then you won't be able to get one of each color for L/R without over paying. This is because the [two color Joycon packs] (https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Joy-Con-Neon-Neon-Blue/dp/B01N6QJ58Y/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1493753597&sr=8-2&keywords=blue+joycons) are always Red L and Blue R.

If you bought a neon switch, then buy the [two color Joycon pack] (https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Joy-Con-Neon-Neon-Blue/dp/B01N6QJ58Y/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1493753597&sr=8-2&keywords=blue+joycons) and a pair of Grey Joycons for all combinations.

Also, don't buy Joycons on Amazon, they are stupid expensive right now.

I don't have a pro controller yet, but people seem to love it.

Games:

Zelda = Must Buy

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe = Must Buy

1-2 Switch = Great for parties/friends

Snipperclips = Great for people who don't play games often (girlfriends/parents/kids). Secret here is to not explain how to play/what to do and let them have fun and try to figure out the puzzles on their own. Act like a support character and you'll have a blast watching them.

Binding of Isaac = I love this game, but put countless hours on the PC version. Mature themes

Super Bomberman R = Classic mode with easy CPUs is fun for roommates. I haven't played through the adventure mode yet.

Wonderboy = Cute/Fun side scroller.

Has Been Heroes = I don't have this yet, apparently very difficult.

Other notes:

I started collecting amiibos after getting a switch (Be very careful, it's easy to get addicted and drop a ton of money here).

I got a Joycon charging dock since the only way to charge extra pairs of Joycons without the Joycon charging dockis to rotate them in and out of the switch while it charges/docked.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

PS I love the Switch so much. It's definitely my favorite console ever.

Regarding the blisters: You're gonna need more pokeballs, so you can't wait weeks for them to totally heal!

So here's what you do:

  1. Get a needle or knife or something, dip it in alcohol, pull it out, and run a flame over it. Bonus points if you have a flaming knife for a second.

  2. Pop dat blister. Just a little hole. Drain all the fluid out.

  3. Dry your foot and cover the blister with Moleskin

  4. Put a fresh pair of shoes & socks and get dem balls.

  5. Every time you get back, take your shoes & socks off and let the wound dry.

  6. Change your dressing every day. If the blister tears and/or falls off, change out moleskin for neosporin and bandaids.
u/piccpimp · 5 pointsr/Flute

Put the bo pep on backwards, logo up. You can also consider making your own support from adhesive moleskin, which you can also put on top of the bo pep for added comfort. The sticky part is not harmful to the flute. I've also seen some flutists cut rubber pencil grips in half the long way, creating a square of rubber that has a bend to it which clamps onto the flute without adhesive.

u/harperwharris · 5 pointsr/LocationSound

In my admittedly limited experience, yes you are using moleskin to mimic what undercovers do. I've found that the thinner moleskin tends to work best. This is a good bulk roll that I've found works great, and is not as thick as it says: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001ANMYRI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I've found that moleskin with a little Joe's Sticky Stuff works really well and will stay put.

You can also buy packs in any pharmacy, usually found in the foot care section. Hope that helps!

u/crow_baby · 4 pointsr/fitness30plus
  1. I cannot agree more about the advice on good shoes and socks that others are giving here but would like to add...
  2. Moleskin:
    http://www.amazon.com/Dr-Scholls-Moleskin-Padding-Count/dp/B007W9MGLI/ref=sr_1_1?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1404833958&sr=1-1&keywords=dr+scholl%27s+moleskin
This stuff kept me from quitting so many times.
  3. Also, I don't know where others are starting but I was quite a bit overweight (still am, but much less so) and felt too embarrassed to stop and stretch if I needed to. Do it, stop, stretch, no one is judging you.
  4. Clothing can be a huge contributing factor. Dress for the weather but give yourself layering options when it's cold and hats or visors for hot weather. Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen.
  5. Don't judge yourself by others progress, style or pace. Do what feels right for you. I was 50 when I started and thought I should be keeping up with the 30 year olds. Nope, but let them try to catch me now! JK, I'm still slow as hell but it doesn't really matter.
  6. I think the biggest mistake in form I made was pulling myself along. When I started concentrating on pushing off and kicking out behind me a bit it made a huge difference in my stamina and actually alleviated lower back pain I had suffered with for years.
  7. Remember to have fun. Take a friend or leave out the earbuds and enjoy the world.
  8. Not all progress will be strictly forward or at the same pace. Give yourself a break for injuries or after a long weekend of out of town guests. But don't let yourself fall out of the habit. It's a million times more difficult to get back to than it is to just slow down for a walk or two.
Sorry, this has become a monstrous post but humoring a friend who wanted to start walking has changed my life. She quit and I kept going. I faltered, dropped out and then came back to it and can't tell you the pride my 5k and 10k medals bring me. Not to mention the 70 pound weight loss that came with them.
My biggest advice would be to be kind to yourself. Don't beat yourself up with unattainable goals and don't judge yourself by what others are doing. More than anything, just get out there and do it.
u/SunnyAslan · 4 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

The standard comfortable heel recommendation on FFA is the Corso Como Del. I tried it on and I fell between sizes because I have the same issue you have (6.5 slips off my heel and a 6 squeezes my toes.). I recommend, if you have a Nordstrom nearby, to go try a pair on and see if they work for your feet.

Since they didn't work for my feet so I ended up purchasing Chinese Laundry Area. The point is more subtle so it isn't outdated and they don't fall off the edge of my heel or squeeze my toes. (though I do sometimes still get minor rubbing so I use moleskin)

Another option is to get a cobbler to stretch out the toe box or do it yourself. I know this will work with leather, and I've heard the you can also do it with patent leather (though patent leather might show "stretched" areas).

u/autophage · 4 pointsr/Fencing

Make a donut shape out of moleskin and apply it such that the hole is where the blister is.

Probably not great advice for the competition, but i might allow it to heal a bit in the meantime.

u/Opentoextrapolation · 3 pointsr/bjj

Try Moleskin until it heals. I keep a bunch in my bag cut up in different sizes

NOT moleskin. Moleskin is a felt covered, super adhesive for hotspots and blisters to mitigate further damage from friction.

You could try moleskin. I had a problem with my head gear because some genius decided to put the seam on the side against the skin instead of the outside. Instead of applying it to my skin, I put it on the head gear. It usually stuck on there for a while. Likewise you could try just straight up medical tape applied to the head gear.

In addition to all that, you might try putting some moisturizer on where it chafes, something with lanolin in it. Alternatively, you could also try deodorant or anti-monkey butt powder or any other anti chafing solution. Google chub rub for a plethora of suggestions.

u/gunsforfun · 2 pointsr/guns

Amazon Provides. It should also be available in your pharmacies along with bagged milk and instant-poutine. Okay, I made the last thing up, but seriously that would be awesome if instant poutine was a thing.

u/I_say_bato · 2 pointsr/BALLET

I searched "moleskin sheets" and found this.
There are other items linked to that page that would also work, depending on how much you want.

u/fuzzy_one · 2 pointsr/cosplay

I would suggest you check into moleskin Adhesive padding

u/MatNomis · 2 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

I did.. I used some Moleskin ( this stuff: https://www.amazon.com/Dr-Scholls-Moleskin-Plus-strips/dp/B001OPJ8KS/ ).. Mainly because I had some laying around and I thought the fuzziness would be advantageous. It works pretty well, maybe slightly too snug. Initially I had it not only on the “bottom” (underneath the joycon) but also curling up the side a bit, but that made it a little tight to get the joycons in, so I trimmed it down, which pretty much solved that. I know others have used electrical tape, or even sticky notes. Sticky notes would certainly be the easiest to experiment with.

I’ll see if I can’t get a snap of how mine looks.

u/smexycan · 2 pointsr/ultimate

I use belega and they prevent most blisters for me. New cleats should help you avoid more blisters but if you still get them, moleskin will be your friend

u/KoA07 · 2 pointsr/malefashionadvice

There is this stuff called Mole Skin that you could use to protect the area. I am in a similar position at the moment, but I am just wearing them around the house to break them in. Seems to be working.

u/mastersnake44 · 2 pointsr/malefashionadvice

I've actually had this problem with running shoes, and it was easily solved by attaching some moleskin to the offending area of the shoe.

Example

u/steph_ish · 2 pointsr/Greyhounds

We use moleskin on the part of the plastic basket muzzle that rests on the dogs' snoot -- here's an AU link: https://www.amazon.com.au/Dr-Scholls-Moleskin-Padding-Count/dp/B007W9MGLI/

u/lotrouble · 2 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

Try applying some moleskin padding to the leather. It won't compromise the leather like heat or water will, and it'll protect your feet while you're still breaking them in.

u/offshell · 2 pointsr/CCW

There are a few hybrid holsters out there that come with suede backing on the leather (hidden hybrid holster, firearm holsters, etc). I've never actually looked to apply anything to the front of the kydex on these holsters.

I have spent some time trying some different things on the back of full kydex holsters like those from pjholster. I've played with 3M safety walk indoor outdoor anti-slip tread (it's a bit thick but rubberized), skateboard tape, a rubberized grip tape sold on amazon, and even mole skin. I'll probably try that suede next. The others have worked - it helps it cling onto my side/shorts a bit more so that it doesn't feel like it's pulling my pants down quite as easily, but I'm not completely happy with any of them.

u/joe_ringmaster · 2 pointsr/DrMartens

As rtj777 mentioned, keep waring them. But don't destroy your feets.

Two tips, which may help:

u/shut-up-dana · 2 pointsr/C25K

Kickass! Well done!

Re: blister, I've only had to deal with them a couple of times and both times I used Moleskin, which worked really well. I don't honestly know how it compares to band-aids, but I think the hype is that it's meant to be better.

Re: hole... ideally, long-term, probably the solution is to replace the shoes. If your shoes are new, you might (should) be able to take them back for a replacement. If they're old/second hand, then (in a few weeks, if you're still excited about running) you might consider buying a new pair. I know it's an investment, but... I really can't over-sell the improvement I saw when I upgraded my shoes. As a short-term, not-stupid-money solution: I have seen holes patched from the inside of the shoe, using Moleskin, and it does seem to hold up quite well. If anyone else has another idea for you then listen to them, they'll know better than me :P

u/ihasasad · 1 pointr/AskReddit

Dr. Scholl's makes something called Moleskin, it sticks onto your skin and protects it from chafing. Better than bandaids.

u/Truant_Muse · 1 pointr/femalefashionadvice

I also love and highly recommend these. Moleskin is another option.

u/fogobum · 1 pointr/NoStupidQuestions

How big an object? Moleskin would do for anything smaller than a breadbox.

u/Grazfather · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

Neither are bad choices. I just prefer to buy leather that looks new... I can wear it in myself.

this is a moleskin patch. It helps prevent friction burn/blisters.

u/syrusbliz · 1 pointr/ABraThatFits

You misunderstand with how I phrased things.

  1. Either keep the 34GG and wear an extender OR band size up to 36G to not need the extender. Both options assume you are happy with the volume.
  2. If you feel you need more volume (room in the cups), either go with 34H + extender OR 36GG.

The moleskin (something like this) you would cut to size and attach to the inside of the gore to give yourself some cushion there. It works like a sticker, so make sure you're happy with the size before you remove the backing to attach. You will probably have to occasionally replace it from wear.

With other Jasmine colourways you shouldn't have the too tight band problem. If you overall end up liking the Jasmine you may also enjoy the Panache Scuptress Chichi, a model based on the Jasmine.

u/Hambulance · 1 pointr/femalefashionadvice

You could maybe try adding some adhesive moleskin to the squeaky shoe bits.

u/MasterJonah · 1 pointr/Vive

I didn't write down the exact names of the parts, they're all 1 1/2 inch, some of the corner pieces are listed under the images I posted. For the straight pieces of pipe, we bought a very long pipe and cut it into the different pieces ourselves. The pipe and pipe insulation was bought from our local hardware store, everything else my dad already had in his collection of hardware. Worst case, you can order the other miscellaneous stuff off Amazon. We eyed everything and kept making small adjustments until everything was the right length. We cut the moleskin and furniture padding ourselves to fit the controller mounts. I'd make a trip to the hardware store, it should be quick and easy to identify all the parts.

If you can't find the moleskin/furniture padding, I found what we used on Amazon:

Moleskin

Furtiture Padding

Sorry I didn't have a whole lot of specifics, but I hope it helps. Just start on the project and keep making adjustments and testing it in-game until everything fits, it really is worth the effort.

u/shellibelli · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

I use these for when I buy shoes too big in order to fit my wide feet. The only problem with using those is that its going to be awkward in boots. You could try putting padded moleskin on in the shape you need. I just put it straight on my shoes, although I try not to use it on more expensive shoes because it does peel off and then my shoes are sticky.

u/Hanzo44 · 1 pointr/explainlikeimfive

idk if you can see this in canada, but, moleskin

u/ifornia · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

Get a sheet of moleskin from a drug store (in the aisle with other foot care products). Cut it to size and slap it over the back to foot. It'll prevent shoes from rubbing too much on the area.

u/silliesandsmiles · 1 pointr/femalefashionadvice

Are you wearing leather shoes, or synthetic (man-made materials)? I know I have a very difficult time wearing non leather shoes, because my heels will blister terribly. Leather shoes will conform to your shape and stretch to fit your foot, whereas man made materials are much less flexible. There is a notable difference in comfort, and if you are working such long days, it might be better to have fewer pairs of heels that are higher quality. What brands do you typically wear? Another idea is to use a shoe tree in the shoe, such as this one. You can find them at many home stores, as well as sites like Amazon. When you wear a shoe, the heat from your foot can make the material more pliable, allowing it to shape to your foot. When you take it off, it can shrink back to the original size. Using a shoe tree can help it maintain a good shape for your foot. I'd also consider trying shoes half a size or a full size up, and maybe using a gel insert to make the fit mores snug so that it is larger in the heel but still fits everywhere else. Moleskin also makes a great buffer between the heel and the shoe.

I agree with not sewing anything into the tongue. I would suggest thicker socks or moleskin. The moleskin is self adhesive and you could apply it to the back of the tongue or the top of your foot.

It's a soft fabric with adhesive on one side. This is an amazon link but it's probably available in a drug store.

I run in the rain a bunch. I always make sure to bring bandaids and neosporin. Someone inevitably gets a cut or a blister and needs to cover it to keep dirt and grime out of it. Also, last year I learned about Moleskin which was really cool to help with blisters.

You could also try using a little patch of moleskin over the parts where it rubs.
