Ok, so I have a crazy suggestion. Ther's all the sensible advice on here about bicarb of soda in the fridge. frebreeze for the flat. For him, you can get this chewing gum which changes your body odour. Its on Amazon and its called Body Mint- there are other brands as well.

Oh and BTW - it is NOT cool for him to shout at you if you express your opinion about something which affects you. He needs to work on that.

u/dreiter · 9 pointsr/nutrition

Some brands use added vitamins and others don't. Unless you are taking in large doses of nooch every day (4+ flat tbsp) then I don't think there are any chronic toxicity concerns. The absorption rates for synthetic B vitamins are similar but I personally avoid high-dose folic acid and pyridoxine B6 and instead prefer the methylfolate and P5P B6 forms.

u/msacch · 6 pointsr/carnivore

Have you tried any supplements?

I’m about 3 weeks into carnivore and week 2 was absolute hell on my stomach.

I did some research and added the following supplements and I’m back to all good. They aid with animal fat digestion. I added the iron because I feel it helps with PMS emotional symptoms.

I also did a 24 Hour fast with just bone broth, which helped too - a reset kind of. And 1 Metamucil tablet a day for 3-4 days.

lipase

ox bile

iron

Good luck!

No mention of Maca? I had to stop taking it after two weeks as it was getting ridiculous, junior high style.

what everybody else said and add broccoli sprouts (in case she wants to grow the sprouts, before eating them, chop them and leave them like that 5 minutes) or just take Broccomax (with myrosinase enzime included in the supp). watch the podcast of rhonda patrick with rogan, she explains some good things on this. also add magnesium citrate (don't get oxide form) and if she doesn't get plenty of sun, vitamin d3 and also add omega 3 fish oil.

i'd get her turmeric/curcumin with bioperine for absorption ,,, broccomax well maybe piracetam but I am not sure.

but OP, i suggest you take the time and watch this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X52ocvJZseo give it time and listen

If you get unfortified nutritional yeast, it tastes much better because it doesn't have that vitamin B aftertaste. [Sari's](https://www.amazon.com/Natural-Non-fortified-Nutritional-Protein-Beta-glucans/dp/B00PJ3IPMI?th=1) is the brand I've been using, but I got some once in the Whole Foods bulk section. I take a B12 supplement daily, so I don't feel bad about not getting it in my nooch.

u/bittybrains · 5 pointsr/Paleo

Yes, Paleo is absolutely right for you.

I'm also 21, also very underweight (weighing just 46kg), and living with an autoimmune disease. I've suffered anxiety most of my life, and think I can offer you some really useful tips.

Eliminating gluten 100% has done a lot for me (but was incredibly difficult at first), in fact I've eliminated a ridiculous amount of stuff due to my illness, I now avoid all nightshades, refined sugars, gluten, eggs, dairy, nuts, seeds, and high starch vegetables (I suffer from a leaky gut and have to follow the Paleo autoimmune-protocol).

An important question to ask yourself is, why are you underweight in the first place? I didn't used to be underweight, but as my gut health deteriorated, I developed food malabsorption, gut dysbiosis, and bacterial overgrowths, meaning I could barely tolerate any sugar, even from fruit, but especially not carbs. Being underweight - this was a big problem, I lost about 10kg, and I'm only just starting to recover and make sense of it all. It sounds like you're in a VERY similar situation to me, so perhaps we can help each-other out.

The most important thing is to accept that you're ill, and that things will only get worse unless you take action. However, no matter how hopeless you feel, just remember that by understanding the science behind your illness, you have the power to get better.

I strongly reccommend you buy this book: LINK

If you haven't yet been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease or leaky gut, chances are you are at high risk of developing one or the other. What you will find, is that by following some version of the Paleo diet, you will give your body everything it needs to recover back to it's natural state. Your gut is possibly the most important aspect of your health, once your gut is damaged, you don't digest food properly, and toxins are able to enter your blood stream, causing an immune response, leading to problems like allergies and a weakened immune system. This all has an affect on your hormone levels, and that is a very likely cause of your weight loss. I myself tested low for Testosterone levels.

Here are some quick tips:

  • Increase your protein intake (I have nearly 100g protein daily), don't worry about the myths of excess protein being harmful, as long as you get your protein from healthy sources such as Salmon, Grass fed Beef, Shellfish, Poultry, Insects, ect, you will be fine. If you plan on following a low-sugar, low-carb Paleo diet (which I highly recommend), increasing your protein intake is a must, otherwise you simply wont be getting enough calories necessary to gain weight.

  • Increasing your protein intake might cause you constipation at first, especially if you aren't digesting food properly, if this happens, there are several things I found which help. First, buy yourself some digestive enzymes, I recommend this brand LINK. Other things which help are stomach acid supplements LINK, and Ox-Bile LINK. I cannot stress how important it is that you properly digest your food, there's no point in eating if you aren't capable of digesting it. Always keep things moving, having a bowel movement at least every 1-2 days is important, so if constipation is an issue, don't be afraid to take supplements like magnesium 1-2 times a day LINK, or Glycerin suppositories. Also, it's important to have some vegetables with every meal, if you can tolerate starchy vegetables - great, if not, try and include plenty of food like broccoli & salad.

  • Increase the amount of fat in your diet. Try and ensure you maintain a healthy omega-3 to omega-6 fat ratio, this can be done by avoiding grain-fed meat, always choose grass-fed meat when possible. Try and eat a portion of grass fed beef every day, this will help with gaining weight. Salmon is also very high in protein, as well as omega-3 fats. Don't be afraid to drizzle oils over your food, I personally like Garlic infused olive oil, avocado oil, flax-seed oil, walnut oil, macadamia oil, etc..

  • Variety is important! Going on a restrictive diet can be really really stressful, especially when modern-day society shoves all these irresistible hyper-palatable foods in your face every minute of every day. It's super important to make sure that you ENJOY your food, otherwise you will be a slave to temptation. Plus, when you enjoy your food, you feel better, and you digest better. At first, going Paleo felt horribly restrictive to me, but after a while, I realised it has actually opened me up to a whole new world of wonderful foods. Eat like a king, enjoy the full variety that nature has to offer, here are some of the things I've learned to love since following the Paleo approach: King Prawns, Razor Clams, Frog legs, Octopus, Kangaroo, Offal (heart, liver, kidney, tongue, tail), Sardines, Sea Bass, Trout, Swordfish, Cod Roes, Crab, Lobster, Insects (dehydrated Crickets, Super-worms, Silk worms, Meal-worm), I could go on. Many of these things sound gross at first, but trust me - it's all completely natural, and tastes delicious!

  • Although adopting a low sugar diet is important, it's also important to consume some sugar/carbs with each meal, in order for your body to produce insulin for storing that energy as fat. Having some ripe banana or pineapple with each meal is best.

  • Space out your meals. Allow yourself to feel hungry before each meal, this will make you enjoy your meals more, and help with hormone regulation.

  • Focus on sleeping more. I always leave myself at least 10 hours, in case I have a bad night. Sleep is when your body recovers and grows, even if you have the perfect diet, gaining weight will be impossible without adequate sleep.

  • Go for walks in nature. Nature is a wonderful way to clear your mind and bring you back to your roots, it's wonderfully calming and healthy, it will do wonders for your anxiety. Listen to some calm music during your walks and try to meditate and allow yourself to absorb into your surroundings. Use this time to connect with yourself and make important life decisions. Walking also stimulates the digestive system, relieves stress, anxiety, and regulates your hormones. Try and go for at least one 30 minute walk per day, or two if possible.

  • Try and connect with someone. I started seeing a nutritional therapist, and she did wonders for my self-esteem and is still helping me get my life back on track. Feel free to message me any time if you have or questions, or simply want to chat. :)

Hope this helps, best of luck! Enjoy the journey to good health!

Edit: Oh, and I recommend taking L-Glutamine every day, it will help you gain weight, and it's extremely good for healing your gut. Also, home-made bone broth will do wonders for health, I can't recommend it enough.

doing real cooking when you have the time is great, but for me there are some staples that i keep around so I always have something quick and easy to make and stay on target.

  1. bacon and eggs, anytime, not just breakfast. cook the bacon on a cookie sheet (on some foil for easy clean up). no pre-heat, stick in the oven, turn to 350 and set a timer. Depending on your oven, 20-30min perfect bacon every time.

  2. ground beef. buy in bulk and save some money at the store (5lbs packages). get some "tupperware" and cook all the ground beef and sort it into containers with about half a pound in each. pull these out of the fridge, add any low carb sauce, microwave, and you are good to go. My favorites are Taco Sauce, and sun dried tomato alfredo. I also usually make a pound or 2 worth of actual taco meat (with the taco seasoning) to have shell-less tacos (in a bowl).

  3. block of good cheese, beef sticks, pickles. Find some keto friendly "snacky" type foods. These will save you if a craving really takes hold.

  4. Sugar Free Redbull, La Croix flavored sparkling water, Powerade Zero, Coffee. If you are typical american, Soda will be the hardest thing to avoid; find something keto friendly that you can replace it with if water is not going to satisfy your thirst. Diet Soda if you have to, but better to avoid those as well.

Make the effort at least once a week to try a new keto recipe. Their are a lot of them. Remember this is more of a lifestyle choice and not a diet. Also, don't beat yourself up to bad if you give into carbs once and awhile, having a slice of cake at a friends birthday party isn't going to hurt unless you are going to birthday parties every other day. Make sure you recognize what you are doing, and that it is a special occasion or reason. Then just Keep Calm and Keto on!

Furthermore, since you are only 18, your body is likely still growing and will need carbs for that. You will likely be able to get away with cheating easier than those of us pushing 40.

Each person is different, reading up, educating yourself, and figuring out what works best for your is of paramount importance.

ninja edit: vitamins! don't forget them

I love this chickpea curry , hot for food's chop salad , one pan Mexican quinoa.

I love morning bagels with avocado, sriracha, and nutritional yeast (get that b12!).
Obviously wraps/burritos are very easy as well as soups.

Meal preps with quinoa, veggies, fruits, etc sounds like it'd be good since you're probably going to high school.

You may want to look into B12 or Omega 3s supplements. It depends on your diet. I take the Deva Tiny Tablet just to make sure I get anything i perhaps did not (but it acts as help, not my main source).

Hot For Food, Oh She Glows, and It Doesn't Taste Like Chicken are usually my favorite sites. I do like Pinterest and I have an entire board of categorized foods.

Definitely make some for you family and show them how good vegan food can be!

I recently started taking NAD+ Cell Regenerator (Nicotinamide Riboside) from LifeExtension : https://www.amazon.co.uk/Life-Extension-Regenerator-Nicotinamide-Riboside-x/dp/B00NPXDXNA/

Do you think this supplement would have any benefit at all? (It's quite expensive).

u/imonlyhalfazn · 4 pointsr/JuneBumpers2017

> Admire my bloated baby belly, ladies. It's half poop.

LOL!

A tip for next time...toss some of this in while you mix in the other ingredients! With the recommended serving size, that's an extra 4 grams of fiber, which should help combat some of the constipation. There's not much flavor difference when you combine everything, although I haven't tried it while pregnant so it might have a more significant taste difference than I'm remembering.

Also- I find that reducing my milk consumption helps immensely, instead of using regular milk, try cashew milk! It's just as creamy, but it keeps my tummy settled pretty nicely :)

u/JesusLice · 4 pointsr/vegan

Long time body builder, 4 year vegan here. I've tried them all from cheap bulk pea and soy to expensive Vega brand, but the best I have ever tasted (and happens to be one of the top 5 for nutrition) is Lifetime's Life basics Vanilla. My favorite part is that it contains ground up chia seeds rich in omegas which really thicken up your shakes (chia seeds bloat in water) It's a must try.

How much do you recommend to start off with? I was looking at the now foods product. http://www.amazon.com/NOW-Foods-Raw-Maca-750mg/dp/B003O1NUMC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1394561322&sr=8-1&keywords=maca+extract

It says it is equivalent to 4.5 grams since it is concentrated.

Do you have any other anecdotal health benefits besides energy and libido improvement? Thanks again for taking the time to help me out!!

u/firelikedis · 3 pointsr/Supplements

They're something called Body Mint but it's essentially just chlorophyll. Going with that or just straight chlorophyll is probably your best bet. You can also get pineapple extract in supplement form, called Bromelain.

u/DIMETHYLTRYPT · 3 pointsr/adderall

Magnesium Threonate theoretically crosses the blood-brain barrier easier. I personally find it to be less sedating or calming than the Magnesium Citrate I take at night. It is pricier, but the research so far shows promising results. Also, my doc recommended it!

According to this study from the Journal of Alzheimer's Disease: "In an intact rodent, treatment with conventional magnesium salts is ineffective at elevating brain magnesium and improving memory function. This is because active transport systems tightly control the amount of magnesium that crosses first from digestive tract into blood, and then from blood to cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). In human, increasing blood magnesium by up to 300% only changes CSF magnesium by less than 19%. To overcome this problem, we developed L-Threonic acid Magnesium salt (L-TAMS, formerly MgT), a compound that can effectively enhance CSF magnesium concentration via oral intake."

Also from the same study: "Supplementation with magnesium threonate may improve cognitive function in older individuals with memory and concentration issues, say results of a randomized, controlled, double-blind study."

Tart Cherry Extract pills worked better for me, easier to control. I like the tart cherry juice ok - especially mixed with things. But easy to over do, and a lot of sugar.

One thing that's helped me a lot are these pills:
https://www.amazon.com/Uric-Acid-Support-Supports-Quercetin/dp/B00T40H4RO/

But if I am out to get a cold drink at a convince store, I will always try to find something that has some kind of cherry juice (actual cherry juice) and without HFCS - sometimes I'm successful.. I also will tend to lean towards cherry desserts and other cherry flavored things when there are times to choose it. Whether it helps or not.

I take B12 about every day (if I can remember) but if I was really busy and only had time for really sad meals then I'll take [this multivitamin] (https://www.amazon.com/Deva-Vegan-Multivitamin-Mineral-Supplement/dp/B01CRHD118/ref=sr_1_2_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1519318887&sr=8-2&keywords=deva%2Bmultivitamin&th=1).

u/JM91Six · 2 pointsr/benzorecovery

Yeah that’s understandable . I definitely would stick it out. .25 from 1.5 is already a good job no matter how long you took, how hard it was , or easy. Stick it out and see how you feel. Was it like this off the medicine? Were you already prone to anxiety. There’s plenty of herbal stuff that work fairly well for me. (Some others they don’t, and in serious withdrawal I think it’s a moot point for some) that you can take as well. I have used this and had success

Zen Anxiety and Stress Relief Supplement - Natural Herbal Formula Supporting Calm, Positive Mood with Ashwagandha, L-Theanine, Rhodiola Rosea - 60 Vegetarian Capsules https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077JBP4NH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_TLguDbVF14VG0

As well as herbal teas, the list of ingredients are all pretty standard for anxiety and you can read up on those too, the major one being Ltheanine that people use.

If you can stick it out with .25 and then feel you would like to taper, come back and ask for some more advice (plans etc) and people can help. But withdrawal for everyone is different so don’t get hung up on everything you read. It can lead to more anxiety and fear about it all. I did that and was in a similar situation as you, and tapering now. Hyper sensitive to anything I feel wondering if it’s withdrawal. It can become a psychological dependency more that a true physical one that can spiral out of control

u/unique616 · 2 pointsr/NoStupidQuestions

There's also Body Mint.

u/roadbuzz · 2 pointsr/AskReddit

You can try to experience it for yourself, there are even pills to imrprove your chances

But the best way to get into a lucid dream (at least for me) is simply lie one the back and try to balance your your underarm so that it remains upright with a 90 degree angle to your upper-arm.

u/Acid_Affairs · 2 pointsr/Supplements

From what I can tell the supplements don't seem that bad. However, at least for the animal m-stack and gnc beyond raw re-forge they contain a lot of ingredients which can mess up with calculated desired results when taken together.

Are you taking a high-quality multivitamin? The only supplement your taking that is providing any essential nutritional value is that gnc beyond raw re-forge. From these supplements alone you are still lacking essential minerals like calcium. And even if you do take a good multivitamin you will still lack the recommended dietary allowance of calcium, magnesium, or even iron if you are not eating enough meat. It depends on your diet and what kinds of food you eat. If you want to supplement I'd suggest Calcium Citrate/Malatate, and Magnesium Glycinate. If you want these nutrients from food instead I'd suggest Greek Yogurt.

I would add some more supplements to complete the stacks:

Early morning and/or late afternoon stack:

the animal-mstack: one pak every day for 21 consecutive days and 7 day rest. So, three weeks on, one week off.

+
usplabs compound 20: 2 capsules with breakfast and 2 capsules 6-8 hours later with meal or snack. For best results, take one of the doses 30-60 minutes prior to workout.

+
gnc multivitamin sport or source naturals life force multiple

When building muscle it is very important for your body to rest so that muscle tissue and other parts can repair and build upon itself. The most rest you get the whole day is when you sleep. The more high-quality sleep you get the more effectively your body can repair itself and grow (e.g. growth hormone secretion).

Before bed time stack:

gnc beyond raw re-forge: one pack prior to bedtime

+
source natural theanine serene with relora

+
source natural calcium citrate/malatate

The way we make change with veganism is by taking our money away from people who exploit animals and by raising awareness, so if I have an accident, and if fixing it wouldn't take back the money or improve people's regard for veganism, I just forgive myself and let it go. If I dispose of the non-vegan thing instead of consuming it, it's mostly just because I feel icky about it.

I recently went vegan after being vegetarian for a few years. It was hard at first to think of what to eat, but the breakthrough that made me feel better about it was reminding myself that I can still eat whatever I'm craving in some form or another. I try to imagine exactly what I would want for dinner if I weren't even vegetarian/vegan and then I google "easy vegan ___." This has led to some great things like vegan eggs benedict (yum). You're working to help animals, so you've got to make it fun and treat yourself.

I also take a vegan multivitamin and B12 supplement so that I can eat whatever I feel like without worrying so much about whether I'm killing myself.

I think lithium can also cause hand tremors in addition to it's potential toxicity.

If the price is the same you can try Now brand eve. The drs best looks like the better one of the two you posted. I don't know much about vitamins except you want the methyl version of B12, you don't want iron in a supplement, magnesium and zinc compete but they are almost always thrown in together. Despite the serving size saying 3 I think 1 a day should work. I take 1 every other day but my serving size is 2 capsules per serving. The prices on amazon are also wacky and range from reasonable to very high for the same product.

Sure! Generally, the diagnosis is done through a breath test. Please understand the breath test is not available from every practitioner. I wound up getting a referral to a GI clinic where a physician’s assistant I saw was quite accustomed to prescribing SIBO breath tests. Another place to get it without issue is from a naturopath if you’re open to seeing one. They are quite accustomed to prescribing these tests.

The test is performed at home by eating a limited diet for a day, fasting overnight, and then drinking a lactulose solution after taking a baseline and before performing the remainder of the test. Samples are taking by breathing into a test tube or other collection device over the course of an hour or so, while you begin to digest the lactulose. It measures how your body responds to this sugary solution. A limit of the test is it will only pick up on overgrowth in the upper part of the small intestine, while some people have overgrowth in the lower regions.

If you test positive you will likely be prescribed Rifaxamin, which is an antibiotic that doesn’t get digested until it hits the small intestine, so it’s perfect for targeting SIBO. The only problem with it I found is it is very expensive ($1500 for a three-week course, with multiple courses almost always needed) so depending on your health care coverage, you may or may not be able to afford it. My insurance did not cover it, so I had to find another way to treat my SIBO.

One study found some herbal OTC preparations are just as effective as Rifaxamin and a lot less expensive. So I did both, in succession. They were:

Then I had symptoms of fungal overgrowth, which is very common following SIBO treatment. I did several rounds of OTC treatments for that (monolaurin and undecylenic acid).

This process took me about 7 months, although I did take some breaks. I now only take a probiotic and a supplement that helps me digest proteins since I have trouble with casein (milk protein) and gluten (wheat protein). I am not cured or anything, but I am 10X better than I was last January. I don’t have chronic pain in my gut and other IBS-like symptoms.

Feel free to ask any questions, I’d be happy to help.

i get as much nutrients and minerals as i comfortably can from food, and just take a multivitamin and an omega3 supplement to take care of anything i don’t get. super duper cheap and it’s only 2 small pills per day which is easy. makes life a lot easier not worrying about if you got everything you needed that day. always pay attention to your nutrients and minerals, but always supplement so you don’t have to kill yourself over it.

these are the ones i take. i buy a year supply at a time -

I've found that a nice dose of L-Theanine (200 mg) has a nice effect on the caffeine. In short, it prevents the jitteryness and anxiety that goes with caffeine intake (for me), and also prevents a caffeine "high" and "low." It allows me to think more clearly and without anxiety when drinking caffeine. It is naturally present in green tea, is good for you, and has no side effects that I've noticed. I am not a doctor. if you think your cortisol levels may be high (you can have them tested) you should try ashwagandha [I felt a noticeable and significant [i.e. stress level from a 10 (chronic nausea and severe nausea after anything that increased cortisol levels) to a 1] difference after 1 dose and have continued to feel the effects after 6 months of use]
If you think you could have a hormonal imbalance (as a man or woman) you could try DIM (reduces androgen levels and total estrogen levels); DIM relieves anxiety in some people going through menopause or with PMDD

Here's what I am looking at:

  • Multivitamin (LEF 2-Per-Day Capsules)
  • Fish Oil (LEF)
  • Vitamins D + K (LEF)

I will probably pick up some cheap 5-HTP and Rhodiola form NOW just to try out.

I am wondering if I will be getting too much Vitamin D from this as the multi has 2,000UI and the D+K has 5,000UI... The multi doesn't have K and that D+K supplement looks pretty good, especially with the added Iodine... does this combo look like I might be overdoing it?

I am 33 and deal with the same kind of hormonal acne. There's something about the neck acne that really bothers me more than the rest, so I get it. I have never had luck with anything and have been pretty bummed for years, however...I found a supplement this summer.

It's commonly referred to as DIM (diindolylmethane). I am not a doctor nor am I taking this under a doctor's care so I'll let you do your own research on how it works and whatnot. Long story short, this supplement is really clearing up my skin. I look better than I have in years.

I also follow a basic skincare routine as advocated on this sub but the supplement makes the most difference. I saw results in about a month. I stopped taking it for a few weeks and my skin went right back to hormonal breakouts. I started taking the supplement again and 3 weeks later my skin is practically clear. This is the one I've been using.

This for a more minimalistic approach, has the things most people are lacking in their diet in good dosages and forms.

Source Naturals and Life Extension both have more comprehensive formulas, though I'd cut the dosage by half for both, makes it more cost effective and for a lot of the vitamins you really don't need that much and Multi's are really more of a safety net anyways.

I haven't seen any really decent responses here, so here's my two cents:

Good multi-vitamins:

http://www.sourcenaturals.com/products/GP1194/

http://www.amazon.com/Optimum-Nutrition-Opti-Women-Multivitamin-Capsules/dp/B000GIQRW6

You don't need to take the full dose, unless your diet is absolute crap or you're on a severe calorie deficit with a high-stress environment.

For energy:

Don't waste your time or money with fat loss supplements. Most are garbage/really over-priced. If you did want to go that route, I'd suggest going with a standard caffeine/ephedrine stack -- just be aware that like most stimulants, you build up a tolerance to it. It's more effective for fat burning/appetite suppression than for energy in the long run. For that reason, I suggest the following:

Buy a loose tea strainer, and make yerba mate. Similar caffeine/antioxidant profile to green tea, plus some interesting compounds that operate on the smooth muscle tissue. I also find it has a relaxing effect in addition to the invigorating effect. Green tea will work as well!

DMAA (1,3-Dimethylphenylamine) provides a great energy boost for me in a pinch. It's effects are synergistic with caffeine, so there's one heck of a buzz.

On a more somber note, 50-60 hours a week isn't a terrifically long work week (I've pulled 110 hour weeks for back to back to back weeks at a firm before), so if you really feel beat up, you may want to look at your general health habits (sleep schedule, diet -- both of which are outside the scope of this post). Perhaps talk to a medical professional -- low energy levels can be indicative of a wide range of issues, from depression to hormonal/thyroid issues, to a vitamin deficiency to anemia.

Good luck!

u/lSl · 1 pointr/PanicParty

L-Theanine works great for me. It's a supplement that comes from green tea and has virtually no side effects. I researched the hell out of it and couldn't find any. Apparently in Japan they put it in food, drinks, snacks, so it should be really safe.

I now take it everyday on an empty stomach. I feel noticeable yet subtle relaxation effects within 30 minutes which last for about 8-10 hours. I still get anxiety but it feels...blunted, and that has allowed me to deal with things a lot better.

> She said, do not go vegan, she goes on I have seen many people with defeciencies they can't afford to repair with plant-based supplements and we have to fix them and tell them to eat meat, dairy and eggs again.

Not that it really matters if you're diet is well planned, but it seems like her whole argument relies on someone not being able to afford a daily multivitamin (6 month supply on amazon is $13). If you can afford $26/year, then by her own logic, you'll be fine. but always be healthy, eat a variety of whole foods, take a b12 supplement and track your nutrition in cronometer.com.

This has helped me a lot feel overall more positive and i'm less mentally and physically drained (adrenals) which was a big problem before. I used to crash by 2 pm and feel overly drained, and starving. After starting this, I still have energy through the day, both mental and physical and less appetite. Whey protein is going to be the cheapest (BodyFortress at wal-mart is only like 15 bucks), BUT you did say you want to transition from ova-lacto to vegan, so unless you want to spend a ton more, be prepared to sacrifice taste in your protein.

Now personally, I use this and this together (since neither are complete proteins by themselves). They lasted me close to 1 1/2 - 2 months, but I'd be lying if I said it tasted good.

Checking amazon, I found Life's Basics on sale for about $15. I've used it before, and it's awesome.

I’ve since learned a lot about mastic gum. It has anti-microbial action against multiple bacteria, as well as yeast and viruses. All of these micro-organisms form biofilms which allows them to evade your body’s immune system as well as some anti-biotics and antiFungals. The great thing about it is that it seems to do this while having a neutral effect on beneficial commensal bacteria like bifidobacterium and lactobacillus. You may want to try the mastic gum even if your test came back negative for h pylori

If your problem is a true Candida overgrowth then you should look into Lauricidin , or Monolaurin. Coconut oil contains lauric acid, which your body converts into monolaurin. It was discovered by scientists looking into the components of breast milk. From the ages of birth until 6 months you have very few commensal bacteria in your gut to function as an immune system. The lauric acid in breast milk has strong anti-microbial properties to prevent you from getting infections. This extract is extremely potent against Candida as well as certain bacteria and viruses. Like the mastic gum, it should have very little effect on you beneficial commensal bacteria. Amazon carries it. Oregano oil extract has similar qualities. I have since added both of these to my supplement stack and it has helped tremendously.
Just because I had h pylori doesn’t necessarily mean that it was causing my problems. Perhaps it was Candida or another bacteria that relies on biofilm for its defense. If I were you I would definitely experiment with those supplements a bit.
In terms of diet, the best diet you can follow to lower inflammation in the digestive tract as well as the rest of the body, is called the low FODMAP diet. It reduces certain carbs that can cause inflammatory problems.
If I were you I would encourage you bto experiment with those things.g

Doctor's Best multivitamin

It has the best form of everything (no synthetics) at a reasonable price, but you might need to limit methyl b12's depending on your VDR taq status. Check this out for more: http://methyl-nation.com/comt-vdr-taq-the-mutation-series/.

Taking one of these multis a day (says to take 3) hasn't given me any overmethylating symptoms so far. Each capsule has way more of everything compared to your average multi, so 1 should be good to shore up an otherwise healthy diet avoiding folic acid wherever you can.

Here's another idea I've been toying with and might try myself, in case you can't tolerate any methyl b12: make your own "multi" stack with minerals and a b complex, adding L-methylfolate (only need half of these) and hydroxy/adenenosyl b12 seperately if you want those. This leaves A/C/D/E/K which I believe can be pretty much covered in a healthy diet and supplemented cheaply (D+C). If you have GSTP1 mutation, you should be avoiding supplemental E.

That B complex has the best forms of the other B's and leaves out Folic Acid and B12 for us. There's another, cheaper brand on amazon without Folic Acid but it has cyano b12. I'm not sure why cyano b12 is so bad to be honest - everything I read on the net about it is kind of vague/woo-woo, but I'm erring on the side of caution anyway (at a cost to the wallet!). Perhaps you can enlighten me?

Hope this was helpful, good luck.

edit: found this on knowyourgenetics.com

>Cyano B12 contains a cyanide molecule. So when you take cyano B12 your body must first turn
it into hydroxy B12 in order to use it, and then must find a way to get rid of the toxic cyanide
molecule. We all know cyanide is a poison even if the rest of the B12 molecule is good for you.
The body actually uses hydroxy B12 in order to detoxify cyanide. So, not only is cyano B12 not
the form your body ultimately needs, but taking higher doses of cyano B12 may actually deplete
your hydroxy B12. So why would anyone use cyano B12 if it can be toxic? Well, in low doses it
may be helpful for the eyes, but for the most part cyano B12 is used because it is much less
expensive, and a form of B12 that is easier to keep stable.

Alright so honestly it sounds like as long as you get hydroxy, a little bit of cyano isn't a big deal (cyanide fears are majorly overblown reportedly). With that said I'm going to probably go with this B complex that's a much better value & low in cyano b12.

Protein: red lentils, sardines, tofu, peanut butter, black beans, protein powder

Supplements: Fish oil, creatine monohydrate, beta alanine, a good multivitamin

I'm generous with the olive oil, you don't need a diet that is so strict, I aim for 3500 calories a day because I'm bulking, though I workout generally 6 days a week and only have an off-day if I feel my body needs it. Count your calories with a calorie counter and PLAN YOUR MEALS, I cook most of my meals the day before or in the morning. Cheat days on some/weekends are okay, you might want pizza or something, it's always nice.

yeah, now foods raw maca 750mg is a 6:1 concentrate, gelatinized.

i have read of ppl taken it acutely....like 5 capsules at once....with an effect of wanting sex.

i think the research on it was when ppl took 1-2 of those daily....but appears acute administration can work too.

You can get modafinil and the like without a prescription if you order it off the grey market. I'm not familiar with getting it into NZ though.

But yeah, the nutritional supplements are generally non-prescription. Choline supplements, piracetam, l-theanine and the like should be freely available. I've linked to ones that I personally use and would vouch for, though lots of others here get stuff from from various merchants and report high quality.

I really fell in love with the multi from Doctors Best. They use really good ingredients like methylfolate as their folate source, and methylcobalamin as their B12 source. It's basic and good quality.

Now a regular dose is 3 caps, however I do believe you can just limit it to one or two caps per day (I myself take one cap for breakfast and one cap for dinner for example).

Most multis are like this. You can usually get away with just taking half the dose, which saves your money, and should be more than enough to cover your bases.

Jarrow's seems to be the best option out of the ones I've found. Also available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0013OVTM0/

I use nutrition yeast for the same purpose. It tastes a bit like cheddar and has MSG in it so it enhances the taste of food in a similar way. Plus it has a good mix of fiber, protein, vitamins and minerals.

I took it for a couple weeks and it gave me some mild side effects, possibly because I was taking it in a fasted state. Side effects: a little too much energy and some anxiety. I'm going to start taking it again, but this time with my meal. (I do OMAD)

Don't make this harder than it is. Here are two ways, the first being the cheapest way and the latter is pre-filled.
