Brands can make claims but unless those claims are backed up with actual test certificates I'd take it with a grain of salt. 1% adenosine is a high level, I wouldn't just take their word for it but ask for proof for sure.

I checked the Solaray one but I don't see 1% cordycepin mentioned anywhere. The Amazon listing has no specs at all, only 'biomass' (meaning 60-70% starch).

Looked that one up in particular because like you say C. sinensis hardly contains cordycepin/nucleosides, and biomass most likely won't contain anything that can be detected.

Why well because it is diluted by the starch and it is not extracted either, so whatever is there has bioavailability issues.

BTW, are you mixing up 'Solaray' with 'Solgar' maybe ? Solgar is a decent supplement brand, Solaray is only selling run-of-the-mill cheap stuff I think ?

Furikake is easy to make at home. My aunt would make it all the time after making dashi. I would suggest to use mushroom powder instead of katsuobushi (The fish) for that umami.

Admittedly I have never done this with furikake, but I do use mushroom as substitute for stocks in hot pots, soups, etc for vegan/vegetarian friends when they come over.

Here is a link to shiitake mushroom powder. This company also makes others. I will say it is also easy to make your own at home with dried mushrooms and a spice grinder. Best of luck. mushroom powder amazon

I'll leave this here, for reference or if you can't find anything else.

2 capsules a day which was 1g.

Tbh, I wasn't doing enough reading at the time. Usually I measure impact of memory by how well I retain stuff after I read. However, I'm an absent-minded professor type. Usually am not reflecting on day to day things like how my day went or whatnot, so remembering things like what I had for lunch or dinner or what I was doing the other day or what was said in a particular conversation (became really good at this) was improved.

this one rocks for cognition: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00NZ7WTQ8
to help with stomach issues I have used this one: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B078SZX3ML

Allow me to up the ante:

https://www.amazon.com/Organic-Shiitake-Mushroom-Powder-100g/dp/B00IJZVWW8

Umami blast with no moisture or mushroom texture added. Try adding either this or the W powder to burgers.

The modernists and the sous vide community can learn a lot from each other! ;-)

a lot of people have good results, and sometimes completely cure HPPD with Super Lion's Mane

the newest theory on HPPD involves serotonin receptor damage, 5ht2 receptor downregulation specifically. lions mane upregulates 5ht1a/5ht2a receptors, and ive seen subjective reports of people being cured in a matter of weeks.

im working on a treatment at the moment that involves lions mane and feverfew, which is a 5ht2a/5ht2b antagonist to aid in 5ht upregulation. if it works, il post here with all of the details, doses, and how effective it is. until then, super lions mane by itself is your best bet.

>Oriveda

https://www.amazon.com/Organic-Mushroom-Capsules-Real-Mushrooms/dp/B07D3H6H6Y?ref_=ast_sto_dp

Here is another brand! They specified Beta glucan contents as well and no grain or mycelium used either, just fruiting bodies. They even include the starch content. Much more inexpensive than Oriveda.

Guarana is a natural form of caffeine. I dont get the jitters from it. The ginseng I mentioned is very good. I also recommend the mushroom supplement. This is what I take, try reading some of the reviews.

Yes, I've tried Lions Mane, but it makes my stomach feel sick and it's not as potent, I don't really feel it's effects. Maybe it's not fresh enough, or maybe it's because I started on Amyloban first, but you can certainly try it. It's much cheaper.
I would recommend the bulk version over the capsule version. Then add it to food, like milk or milkshake.

Thanks! Since I already have Neuro Ignite & Phenylpiracetam I am going to use them occasionally. Mostly on weekends. I am planning to phase them out if they don't work. I am more inclined on the natural ones.

For memory I might go in for Synapsa Bacopa Monnieri Capsules since this is plant based. I will use this as alternative to Neuro Ignite & Phenylpiracetam. And mostly on weekends.

For mushroom extract: Lion's mane seems to be one that is recommended. Any brand recommendations?

u/FatBodegaCat · 1 pointr/Supplements

about a week or so. I just started using the ash.

This is the lion's mane product. It is actually a combination of mushrooms https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078SJ9F5S/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I like the cordyceps because I used to use it on its own in powder form as a pre workout for training(judo) https://www.amazon.com/Cordyceps-Mushroom-Extract-Powder-Adaptogenic/dp/B06XJP1Y69/ref=pd_nav_hcs_rp_t_2?_encoding=UTF8&refRID=QH3HA7SZN0VGNBXV4KDK&th=1
